By far the best egg sandwich I've had. Prior coming to Chicago, I have not heard of Egg Tuck but luckily it's just around the corner from the hotel I've been staying at and I decided to try it out since I love eggs. I ordered the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese sandwich with the sauces on the side online. By the time I came to down to pick up my order, it was about 30 minutes after the estimated time it stated it was ready. The store front was packed full if people of door dashers and people who ordered online, waiting for their order. The employees were very polite, patient and good with ensuring the patrons, orders were being fulfilled accordingly. All of the online orders did cause their food orders to pile up. That being said, the sandwich was amazing! The brioche bread was buttery, rich and toasted. The soft scrambled eggs were so good, soft and fluffy and the bacon was crisp and everything together was just great. I got the sauces on the side, the sriracha aioli was perfect to dip into. The orange was fresh squeezed and the filled it up to the brim with juice, so tasty. I will return before departing Chicago to grab another! read more

I can't believe I haven't tried Egg Tuck sooner! They have multiple locations but I finally tried it in Chicago during my visit. Their sandwiches are definitely worth the price. I used the kiosk to order the west sando (korean bbq). It's like a burger sandwich! The meat was not overcooked and I loved the caramelized onions and cheese! My friend got the avo egg sandwich. Wow hers looked so good too! Eggs were buttery and soft. Love the packaging. It's so neat and pretty! Eating the sandwich can be tricky as it's a mouthful and kinda messy. I carefully bite into it because I knew the fried egg was going to pop. Everything actually held up nicely. The brioche was slightly toasted and buttery. I devoured it all!! Service was okay. You order from a big ipad and then wait til they call your name. I was told my wait was 45 min to 1 hr but it wasn't too bad. Came here for breakfast on Saturday. The line was crazy long outside. I placed an order online and we had to wait 30mins for the food even though the online order said it would only take 15mins or so. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the bread was toasted nicely. I love egg sandwiches! I could eat an egg sandwich any time of day. And this one did not disappoint. The sandwich is messy (try to keep it contained, or just give up and have a fork as a backup.) You know how some places say "spicy," but they don't really mean it? They mean it. I loved the sriracha aoli and the Tteok-Galbi (Pork and Beef Short Rib Patty), which is something like your traditional breakfast sausage patty, but better. And, on the spicy sandwich, a little spicier. I added avocado, but it probably wasn't necessary, the sandwich already had a lot going on, in terms of being filling and sloppy. I'm not usually a bread lover but the brioche on this sandwich is special. I heard another customer asking for eggs and "sausage" and the worker kept telling her, no, they don't have sausage. I think for most people this is basically just a twist on a sausage patty. The tots were good and crispy. The inside of the restaurant wasn't very impressive. It could have used a cleaning. Just happened to be walking around the loop and decided to stop in for lunch. Service was quick, and prices were reasonable for the amount of substance you get in the sandwich. Each sauce tastes great on their own, and together, I'm sure. The main problem I had with the sandwich was with the composition. The ingredients were not spread around the sandwich. Downtown food options can be pretty mediocre in my opinion - expensive but not very outstanding or good / yummy for the price point. I generally don't seek out eating in the Loop but I was getting lunch with a friend and had seen this viral place on Instagram. It's an LA food spot that's making its way out to Chicago with a few locations. My conclusion is that it's a good sandwich (both me and my friend got the Royal West sandwich with kalbi) and yummy, but not Amazing. I have what I call a list of anti-depression foods that spark joy and make me forget my troubles and this would not make that list. I think generally if you want to eat something good and want to be in downtown Chicago, Egg Tuck is a solid place to go. I think the sandwich is a little small for $15+ with tip (and we should tip!) but a solid meal. I'm not sure I'll go out of my way to come back, but I think my friend liked it a bit more. read more

The service was pretty good considering the demand, but we were waiting for our food at least 45 minutes after ordering (for a couple of sandwiches and an order of tots). The ambiance is rather chaotic and hectic - but the food was quite delicious - I was particularly fond of the sriracha aioli. While I may wait a spell before returning to allow the long lines to slow down, I do hope to come again before too long. I saw this place featured on Insta and Tik Tok, so of course I wanted to try it out to see what all the hype was about. When we walked by a little closer to lunch, it was packed. We came by at 2pm and it was empty... but literally 5 minutes after we placed our order, a huge group came in - so maybe we lucked out, but I guess plan on waiting if you visit here. We ordered the signature egg tuck sandwiches, one bacon and cheese, one avocado egg, alongside with a refreshing honey lemonade at the kiosk. Note that right now there is an 8% temporary egg surcharge, so total without tip ended up being $30. Note that you have to scroll down if you want to further customize your sandwich. Our drinks were provided promptly and then we waited maybe 10 minutes for our food. The sandwiches were yummy, gooey, deliciousness. You definitely need to eat it initially in the box they serve it in. When you are halfway through your sandwich you can more easily eat it out of the box, as the eggs are 'tucked' in that they don't cut all the way through the brioche bread. I laughed when Selvam said his "eater colleagues called Egg Tuck the 'spiritual successor' to Egg Slut." It's a great article and made me very hungry. Anyway, I am here for all the iterations of breakfast sandwiches! Egg Tuck is from LA and they opened their first Chicago location in downtown on 326 N Michigan Ave (right next to Mochinut). Their grand opening was on Dec 2, and their social media team and other food-stagrammers are working overtime to get the word out. So, after Egg Tuck made its way into my feed time and time again, I made a trip here on a Friday morning. The set-up is fast casual with an option to order ahead online for pickup. We went to Egg Tuck to dine in. When you arrive, there is an area to order using two kiosks and a staff member kindly greeted us good morning. It was busy and there was a line inside of folks waiting for their food, and someone will call your name once your order's ready. The seating area is in the back of the restaurant with self-serve water and napkins, etc. The long line and wait time was making people anxious - I imagine if you only allotted 30 min for breakfast and after 20 minutes still needed to check in on your order. However, Egg Tuck was making everything to order and the food (albeit delayed) was coming out fresh. Since it was still their first week, it felt like a soft opening during the "breakfast rush." We ordered and got our food in 20 minutes. Here is what we got between 2 people: Sweet Egg (original) Avo Egg Tater Tots (plain, but you have options to top with eggs) New Orleans Iced Coffee (chicory coffee with condensed milk) Hot House Coffee Our breakfast tab was about $35. While not an everyday breakfast spot, it was fun to try and SO delicious. The eggs were fluffy and generously stuffed in the softest brioche bun that has been buttered and toasted. I loved the addition of the house mayo and sriracha aioli, which wasn't spicy but gave the sandwich a little flavor kick. They used parsley instead of chives that day (for anyone who is particular about garnishes, they just have run out or were too busy that day). Aside from a slightly longer than expected wait time, Egg Tuck is amazing! Factor in a little more time if you're heading here before work or in general, as their operations are getting smoothed out and they are dealing with a flock of hungry people dying to try this lovely Korean-inspired egg sandwich. New to Chicago land area. A few things that you need to know. 1. The food imo looks like the advertisement. 2. The wait, at least for me on a Saturday morning at 9 was about an hour, from order to actually getting food. As for the food it was definitely tasty. The bread/ Texas toast was soft and nicely toasted. The egg was really light and fluffy(I mean really light and fluffy), and it was a good amount of eggs. I liked it. The bacon egg was really good egg sandwich not wait for an hour good, but good nonetheless. The cheese and the bacon gave you a bit of each with each bite, and it was prepared fresh. The royal west had a different taste, almost of a burger but slightly different it was pretty good as well. And the fries were just normal thick fries with a little seasoning, I actually liked them a lot. I would go here again, but the wait was crazy. It is newly opened. So maybe if the newness dies down it won't be as long await. But if I do go again it'll be either super early, like at opening. They also have a small to medium dining area in the back. read more

I found this on yelp and thought it looked very familiar! It is very similar to this chain of egg sandwich restaurants called "egg drop" in korea and that made me excited because these egg sandwiches were freaking delicious! I'm not usually an egg person but these were very fluffy and creamy and it contrasted well with the natural saltiness of the ham and paired with the bread. This is the single best place downtown for a quick lunch. The royal west sandwich is delicious. Essentially, take two enormous pieces of french toast, stuff 'em full of egg, avocado, onion, pickle, and the most delicious sausage patty you will ever find, and that is what you're getting here. It is really incredible how much flavor they get on this sausage, and it makes all the difference. I was blown away. We had a side of tots, too, which were solid.
