The operation of ordering and receiving was pretty seamless as I came near the closing. The host was nice. The food - for $9 almost $10, y'all know better than to give me two eggs in this large brioche bun sandwich. I ate more carbs than egg. I had to take a fork and scoop some egg to taste the flavor. My partner and I grabbed a quick breakfast at Egg Tuck during a visit to Chicago. Pros: Egg Tuck is in a central location to the downtown area; it's very walkable from most hotels. While it's counter service, the food does come out pretty quickly. It's good value for money. The sandwiches are a good size. You won't leave hungry. Cons: Neither of us particularly enjoyed what we ordered. I got the Bacon & Cheese. My partner ordered the Royal West. I thought the eggs were mushy. I get that the silky scrambled egg effect is the intended style. But it just wasn't for me. My partner didn't like the flavor profile of the Korean patty in his sandwich. Additionally, the bathroom situation is very bizarre. There is an elevator to take down to the basement (which didn't work for us) so had to take the stairs. The code they gave us for the bathroom didn't work either. The entire basement area had litter everywhere and stunk. Went to pick up an order placed online at 8:15 and there was a large line inside to order. If you're in a hurry, I definitely recommend ordering online, however, just be aware that this is not a food item that travels well (in case you're considering DoorDash or whatever). The perfectly toasted brioche is going to steam and become very soft. If you have the time, come early and wait in line so you can enjoy the sandwich right away at the height of its deliciousness. After seeing Keith Lee review, I HAD to experience this place myself. It did NOT disappoint. I had the spicy Korean sandwich and it was amazing. The real star of the show was the egg tater tots. I had been wanting to try Egg Tuck for over a year now since they opened this location and I finally stopped in on a random weekday during non-peak hours. It was still a little busy - there were about 7 people in front of me either waiting for their order or using the kiosks. I decided to get the original classic egg sandwich so I could get a good baseline first and also added some plain tater tots. I wasn't planning to get a drink but the New Orleans iced latte caught my eye as something you don't see many places and I'm very glad I got it - probably my favorite part of the meal. And I was happy they served it out quickly ahead of the rest of my order so I could sip on it while I waited. It took about 5 minutes in line to use the kiosk and another 10 minutes for my food to be ready and I just took it to go (all in it was ~$25 w/ tip). There doesn't seem to be a lot of indoor seating and honestly it didn't look very inviting anyway but the riverwalk is a block away as an option for outdoor seating a nice day. But onto the main event: the sandwich. Maybe I went in with very high expectations because of the hype but it was just ok. The bread pocket was cool and innovative but it was quite dry and you could really tell towards the bottom of the sandwich when there was nothing left but the brioche alone. The eggs were fluffy but I wasn't a big fan of the sauce and it was all a little bland so I'd definitely go for something different next time. All Egg Tuck sandos are "made with our House-made Ultra Premium Brioche Bun, Fresh Eggs, Chives, Signature Egg Sauce, and House Sriracha Aioli." I ordered the Ham & Cheese (Signature Scrambled Eggs, Ham, Cheddar Cheese) - the brioche was buttery and delicious and hefty enough to sustain all the egg and sawce. The sriracha aioli got EVERYWHERE (dribbling down my hand and all), but it was soo flavorful. This place was right next to my hotel and I love eggs so I gave it a try. This eggs are scrambled soft, but maybe a little too soft as almost half of the eggs was falling out as I was eating the sandwich. Overall, it was pretty tasty in the bread was pretty thick. It reminded me of French toast. I like the fact that it's not two slices of bread, but rather one giant slice with a slit in the middle sort of like a pocket. If I was to buy this again, I would use a fork to stuff the toppings deep into the bread. I think that might help avoid the eggs falling out, but I see why they have so much sticking out for presentation purposes.
