Good Morning. We decided to see what the rave was about. But very disappointed. Sorry. The wait was short less than 7 minutes. Our server was nice Brys very kind. However the food very disappointing. I couldn't see the hollandaise sauce, just paprika, the eggs were poached perfectly but the entire meal was dry because really no sauce. The breakfast potatoes were deep fried in stale oil and very well done so much so that when I went to fork them they flew off the plate. So I had to eat them with my hands. I referred to the potatoes as hockey pucks! The veggies were not seasoned at all just slapped on. So bland tasteless dry with a side of stale. Yuk! The bread they used for the egg Benedict was so stale. Like it had been sitting out for days. Yuk! For $17 it was a very expensive non enjoyable experience. Did an online Uber eats order for this place not only did it take almost an hour to be ready, it looks like they threw the leftover scraps into our order and called it good. The potatoes were old and cold. And the serving sizes were horrible. I know we ordered delivery but you would think you would get the same quality of food as a dine in experience. And if this is anything like their dine in experience I cannot recommend it. We still pay as much as we would if we dined it. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because yesterday I came and it was cash only. We decided to eat someplace else because we weren't near an ATM and the wait. Today I pulled out $60, all 20's and they were no longer accepting only cash. The waiter gave me the wrong amount of change , (was off $10). The food was great as was the service. The wait was long but that is to be expected at this restaurant since it's so popular, and especially right now with limited capacity. But, they're doing their best. We got the kalua pig Benedict, combo with pancakes, side order bacon and the strawberry and cheesecake crepes. Everything was very tasty. My only critique would be that the crepe was overly saturated. Next time I will order it without the cream cheese on top, as the filling inside was plenty. read more

My friend and I decided to have breakfast early in the morning before our workshop on Tuesday, 3-19-19 and we decided upon Eggs 'n Things. We both ordered the Loco Moco's. I had the Hawaiian Style Loco Moco composed of fried rice with Portuguese sausage and fried onions and mushrooms with a juicy burger cooked perfectly medium with a dose of brown gravy on top with two delicious over easy eggs. My friend ordered the Special Paniolo Loco Moco with bacon fried rice with a burger cooked medium with a plop of white gravy and fried onions and mushroom. I wanted to try her white gravy and I wanted more of my brown gravy and our waitress accommodated my request and gave me a small portion of both to add to my delicious meal. My friend and I loved the taste of the deliciously flavorful burger that had the perfect amount of salt and other secret ingredients. The burger also had texture with chopped onions mixed together in the burger. We liked the charred grill marks on the burger also. We were raving about how much we enjoyed it. Thus, we also ordered the Banana Cream Cheese Crepe that was topped with whipped cream and bananas on top. We would have like more bananas in the cream cheese. It was luscious and airy with the fresh bananas that were nice and ripe and not to green or too mushy. The crepe was very flavorful and thin and warm. Furthermore, our waitress was very thorough in telling us about the specials and everything that was on the menu. Our table was a little sticky from the previous diners and she quickly remedied the situation with a gracious smile. She was the best. Lastly, we both decided that we would be eating at Eggs 'n Things tomorrow, before our 2nd day of our workshop. Continued to wait for our food while others that ordered after us received theirs. Not once did our waitress come to check on us so we had to tell the host that we were still waiting and honestly, he didn't seem to care. Finally saw our waitress at the front so we decided to give up and tell her to cancel our order. She then claimed there was an internet issue and that she had just resubmitted our order. If that was the case, she should've came to us and explained the issue as soon as she realized instead of making us sit there and wait. I get that stuff happens but it was nearly a half an hour after we ordered before she even realized our order didn't go through and to me..that's terrible service. read more

The tower of whip cream on their pancakes is everything you've ever dreamed of. Or at least everything I've ever dreamed of. As long as you love a lot of sugar you can't go wrong with this. I guess two normal people could share the plate because it's a lot of food but I had to have it all to myself... Anyways, I can't comment on other food since it was a solo mission but the food passing by looked good. I was sat right away at 9am on a Friday, food came quick and service was solid. So I'd say it's a great breakfast choice which is tough in a city with soooo many good breakfast spots. PS - As pretty as the strawberries look, they aren't fresh so you can skip those and go straight up with the good stuff. Chocolate chip with whip cream is definitely next on my list. read more

When entering the restaurant many tables were missing, others were open. I was alone and had a huge table for myself. It's very different from the long line of people that used to wait outside on a regular Sunday morning. Instead of a plastic menu, it was a paper menu this time. The restaurants promise to sanitize every surface and handle that comes in contact with guests several times a day. According to Eggs and Things the restaurant management promises staff will wear gloves and masks and get their temperature checked before they start. The company promises to have implemented a number of more health and safety measures that are far beyond those required by the state food service guidelines. Food was good, we pork chop and eggs and beef and eggs. Both came with pancakes and they were fluffy and tasty. The coconut and guava syrups were delicious! Although the food was good overall, the wait was ridiculously long (over an hour) for the two of us. When we went finally got called in, the place was half empty which told me it was a staffing issue. Staff was nice and accommodating but something felt off, like they were understaffed. Food came out without a long wait. We ate with empty tables all around us and tons of people outside. We felt rushed because we knew people were waiting in the hot sun for a table. We did not even get the chance to eat their as we checked into their Check in Kiosk and saw our name on the list and took a picture of it. It stated a 11-26 min and after over 30 we still been notified so we went inside to ask and we informed that our name was not list. We showed a picture of we thought was a confirmation and we told that was not completed. Instead of being accommodating and helpful, we were scolded for not completing the process and would have to start again and wait another 30 minutes. There was no Aloha or even "were sorry for that". So I'm mildly addicted to their paniolo loco moco. If you're a fan eggs, gravy, bacon and fried rice then the Paniolo Loco Moco is the way to go. If not, we can't be friends... just kidding. LOCATION: located right off of Piikoi Street and Kona Street, close to the Nijiya Market. PARKING: there is a small parking lot in front which is shared by neighboring businesses. It can get crowded during peak hours so I suggest parking at the mall and walking over. SERVICE: the staff are always so friendly and bring the local feeling to the tourist when they come here to eat. FOOD: So eggs n things sound more like a breakfast place, which they are, however they have a wide variety of lunch and dinner items as well. When I'm not eating their Paniolo Loco Moco.. I like to eat their Furikake Ahi, steak and eggs or Paniolo bbq burger and onion rings. My friends love their pancake and waffles. PRICE: Their menu items are about average. They do cater to a lot of tourist in the area however I still think their prices are reasonable and affordable. Will I be back? Time for an Update! Last review was 4 years ago. I'd say I come here every 6 months or so. Never been to the Saratoga 'flagship' location. The 'Eggspress' location is overpriced, not as good,long wait, and plastic forks just don't cut it. Ala Moana location is nice and reliable. Conveniently located. Service has always been good for our breakfast group. Some like it more than others. Everyone agrees the food is good. New Menu: Looks like they have updated their menu. It includes the usual breakfast items like pancakes, eggs benedict and separate dinner items. Healthful Menu: There is a new section for veggie omelets, egg white omelets and some vegan options. I had, this time, a minced vegan burger and grilled veggie dish. I added a photo but it may not attach to this review, but, you can look for it. I thought it was an omelet but it had no eggs as I wanted vegan style. Boy was that good! Served with some salsa there were lots of fresh veggies that were nicely grilled and indeed did have a crumbled veggie burger included. Turned out to be just what I wanted. A great place to have a nice and hearty breakfast. My wife and I stopped by twice while we were in Honolulu and we weren't disappointed. We both enjoyed the homey atmosphere coupled with simple and delicious food. We tend to avoid larger touristy restaurants when we travel and this was perfect because it is a locals destination with great portions and the perfect price point! Brunch is my favorite meal, and I was excited to come here for Saturday brunch. We waited for about 20 minutes. It seems like this place gets lots of traffic, so be prepared for a wait. We didn't order anything out of the ordinary, but enjoyed our sunny side up eggs, Portuguese sausage, and macadamia nut pancakes! The coffee on the other hand was so disappointing. Hubby and I came here for breakfast after dropping off my daughter to summer fun! I love eating veggie omelettes. I ordered a veggie omelette and drank a tropical iced tea. This was good and refreshing. We got seated at a table. Our waitress was really nice. Our waitress asked us if we needed anything and we told her ketchup, shoyu and hot sauce. She gave us packets instead of the bottles. While we waited, there was music in the background. Our food came out pretty quickly. I enjoyed my veggie omelette. It had spinach, mushrooms, cheddar cheese, and green peppers. I got it with white rice. You had a choice of pancakes, white rice or potatoes. I squirted ketchup on my eggs and put shoyu (soy sauce) on my white rice. This dish was delicious. I definitely was satisfied and full. I didn't finish my tropical iced tea. The BOMB food on the island. Boyfriend got the special for a steak omelet and I got a portugese sausage omelet. Pancakes are HUGE! Be prepared for a lot of necessary whip cream (in my opinion at least). I personally wasn't a fan of the omelet I got, mainly cause I have a certain preference for the texture of my foods, but my boyfriend and I thought his omelet was amazing! I could never really understand what the hype is all about for this place. I worked in Waikiki for over 20 years and never really had the desire to dine at their original location as I had MANY MANY Japanese tourists ask me about Eggs 'n Things. As they expanded and opened this location, I also didn't have the desire to come here as I've read quite a few below-par experiences about this place regarding the food quality and service. But I'm a good sport and willing to try things once so when a friend suggested we come here for breakfast I agreed. However, after eating here earlier today I can understand why the reviews here are NOT that great. We arrived here before 730am and the parking lot was awfully empty as neighboring stores such as Taiyo Ramen and Nijiya haven't opened yet. We walked in and the restaurant was about 1/3 full so we were immediately seated. However, before being escorted the host walked to the cashier and handed her several dollar bills. This type of action I DO NOT care for as I personally believe money transactions between employees should be done where the customer does NOT witness it. As we sat down it took FOREVER to have a staff bring us water. I looked around and saw 2 servers and a handful of bus help. What really disturbed me was the action at the cashier section where 2 employees were BUSY rolling plastic forks and knives in napkins. These 2 girls were chatting away and rolling. Shouldn't your customers who are sitting waiting for water and someone to take our order a priority? Eventually I flagged down our eventual waitress (Ann) who was obviously very busy being pulled in many directions. She asked us to wait for a minute which resulted my friend telling her "Maybe we can have another server help us besides you?" While still waiting for Ann to return, the male host passes our table and we asked him what was in the "Hawaiian Loco Moco" and his response was classic. He was like a deer caught in headlights and couldn't respond or move. I mean, this guy works here so shouldn't he know the menu for starters? Here is what we had: a) Hawaiian Loco Moco (1/5) Basically a loco moco with Portuguese sausage, mushrooms and onions. Sad to say everything in this dish was good except for the GRAVY - - it was bland, bland and bland!!! Barely any seasoning and this dish was a major disappointment. Hamburger was cooked well, the "Hawaiian" extras were okay but the gravy, to bring the dish together, fell FLAT. Sorry but the awful gravy led to MAJOR FAILURE. b) Pineapple Plantation Pork Chop with Eggs (3/5) As I ordered this, Ann took the liberty of asking me if I had this before because she advised me the pork is cured so it's more like eating ham rather than a pork chop. But I was set in ordering this and it was really good! Cooked perfectly with a pureed pineapple sauce and grilled fresh pineapple ring. I had my eggs soft scrambled and it came out a bit overcooked but it was still palatable. The pancakes, generous portion of 3, were standard. I originally was going to have it upgraded to chocolate chip pancakes but was advised it's an additional $3.95!!! Call me cheap but that's waaaaaay too much for the upgrade so I declined. Up until now everything was okay but as I paid for the bill I requested for the manager to voice my opinion on the below-par service. I was stunned when he defended his employees of the money transaction . He understood my frustrations but he, as a manager, could have helped his staff as there weren't enough servers. I mean, he himself could have easily walked around surveying the place and better utilize those 2 staff rolling plastic knives and forks in napkins. If you want so-so food with below-par service and pay $$$ for breakfast here, this is the place for you. Yes, this place is on the pricey side and obviously caters to the Japanese tourists. While dining, a mini bus pulled up and dropped off a large group of Japanese tourists!!! Personally, I have NO desire to patronize this place again. Service (1/5) NOTE: They do have Kama'aina discount (5% off) but surprisingly it wasn't taken out when I paid for it. As we drove off I saw my slip with no adjustment. I wasn't driving and my friend told me to let it go as it was a waste of energy. After I arrived to my destination I called to voice my concern and was advised I need to show my Hawaii ID, when the cashier NEVER asked me. read more
