I wondered why this restaurant always had a long line, and my lunch buddies and I usually go to the restaurants next to Eggs N things, but because there was no longer a line, they decided to go, and I had no choice but to go with them, knowing that the prices are already high for the food they serve. My intuition was right, and although the food tasted ok, it's not worth the price I paid: Paniolo Loco Moco - 3 stars - For $12.95, the taste of this loco moco was actually pretty good, but to me, wasn't worth the price because the hamburger tasted partially processed and the price was too high for a basic dish. Pancakes - 4 stars for the taste - pancakes came with a friend's dish. I wouldn't personally buy a plate because it's really expensive, but they make it with a sweet maple taste (maybe from the butter I dipped a piece in). I'd actually buy this dish if they lowered the price. They have 3 different syrups only, so this restaurant is rather basic compared to other pancake houses. Service: 3 stars - The waiter was friendly, but having a limited lunch time, service is really slow. Best to eat here when you have cash and time to spare to chat awhile with a friend. read more

Good Morning. We decided to see what the rave was about. But very disappointed. Sorry. The wait was short less than 7 minutes. Our server was nice Brys very kind. However the food very disappointing. I couldn't see the hollandaise sauce, just paprika, the eggs were poached perfectly but the entire meal was dry because really no sauce. The breakfast potatoes were deep fried in stale oil and very well done so much so that when I went to fork them they flew off the plate. So I had to eat them with my hands. I referred to the potatoes as hockey pucks! The veggies were not seasoned at all just slapped on. So bland tasteless dry with a side of stale. Yuk! The bread they used for the egg Benedict was so stale. Like it had been sitting out for days. Yuk! For $17 it was a very expensive non enjoyable experience. Time for an Update! Last review was 4 years ago. I'd say I come here every 6 months or so. Never been to the Saratoga 'flagship' location. The 'Eggspress' location is overpriced, not as good,long wait, and plastic forks just don't cut it. Ala Moana location is nice and reliable. Conveniently located. Service has always been good for our breakfast group. Some like it more than others. Everyone agrees the food is good. New Menu: Looks like they have updated their menu. It includes the usual breakfast items like pancakes, eggs benedict and separate dinner items. Healthful Menu: There is a new section for veggie omelets, egg white omelets and some vegan options. I had, this time, a minced vegan burger and grilled veggie dish. I added a photo but it may not attach to this review, but, you can look for it. I thought it was an omelet but it had no eggs as I wanted vegan style. Boy was that good! Served with some salsa there were lots of fresh veggies that were nicely grilled and indeed did have a crumbled veggie burger included. Turned out to be just what I wanted. So at least one good vegan option. My companions had loco moco and standard 3 egg omelets. They enjoyed theirs also. I'm sticking with 4 stars. read more

Brunch is my favorite meal, and I was excited to come here for Saturday brunch. We waited for about 20 minutes. It seems like this place gets lots of traffic, so be prepared for a wait. We didn't order anything out of the ordinary, but enjoyed our sunny side up eggs, Portuguese sausage, and macadamia nut pancakes! The coffee on the other hand was so disappointing. Hubby and I came here for breakfast after dropping off my daughter to summer fun! I love eating veggie omelettes. I ordered a veggie omelette and drank a tropical iced tea. This was good and refreshing. We got seated at a table. Our waitress was really nice. Our waitress asked us if we needed anything and we told her ketchup, shoyu and hot sauce. She gave us packets instead of the bottles. While we waited, there was music in the background. Our food came out pretty quickly. I enjoyed my veggie omelette. It had spinach, mushrooms, cheddar cheese, and green peppers. I got it with white rice. You had a choice of pancakes, white rice or potatoes. I squirted ketchup on my eggs and put shoyu (soy sauce) on my white rice. This dish was delicious. I definitely was satisfied and full. I didn't finish my tropical iced tea. The BOMB food on the island. Boyfriend got the special for a steak omelet and I got a portugese sausage omelet. Pancakes are HUGE! Be prepared for a lot of necessary whip cream (in my opinion at least). I personally wasn't a fan of the omelet I got, mainly cause I have a certain preference for the texture of my foods, but my boyfriend and I thought his omelet was amazing! The fried rice was subpar, with big chunks of white rice that were completely un-sauced. The "bacon" in my brother's omelet was thick and soggy, more like shitty ham. My other brother ordered a chocolate chip waffle and got a stomachache from the ridiculously overkill amount of chocolate chips. Overall, a very underwhelming experience. Not once did our waitress come to check on us so we had to tell the host that we were still waiting and honestly, he didn't seem to care. Finally saw our waitress at the front so we decided to give up and tell her to cancel our order. She then claimed there was an internet issue and that she had just resubmitted our order. If that was the case, she should've came to us and explained the issue as soon as she realized instead of making us sit there and wait. Service at this place has declined. The waiter that serviced us was very blunt and not personable at all. Although the food was good overall, the wait was ridiculously long (over an hour) for the two of us. When we went finally got called in, the place was half empty which told me it was a staffing issue. Staff was nice and accommodating but something felt off, like they were understaffed. We did not even get the chance to eat their as we checked into their Check in Kiosk and saw our name on the list and took a picture of it. It stated a 11-26 min and after over 30 we still been notified so we went inside to ask and we informed that our name was not list. We showed a picture of we thought was a confirmation and we told that was not completed. Instead of being accommodating and helpful, we were scolded for not completing the process and would have to start again and wait another 30 minutes. There was no Aloha or even "were sorry for that". Anyway, it was good not the most flavorful I have had, but decent. It was a little too heavy on the potato for me. Hubby got the chunky monkey pancakes and I had a bite. I a typically not a fan of pancakes but every once in a while I have some that take me by surprise. These fall into that category, super fluffy and moist. Heard about this place for years, but driving to town for breakfast is not my idea of a treat. So since we are testing out living in Honolulu for a while we are discovering places we like on this side of the island. I realise we are doing so in a bubble of Covd, but it's nice to go to places uncrowded, plentiful cheap parking, clean uncrowded beaches...did I say we are living in Honolulu? The interior is cleared for social distancing and it felt fine. The servers wear masks and gloves and take out customers wait outside. The cash register is at the door, which is good, but can create some congestion, if you care about it because people dont seem to know how far 6ft is unless you have tape and arrows. We had the chicken mango sausage with eggs over easy and kalua pig eggs Benedict on taro roll with home potatoes. All done well and in generous but not obscene portions. It was actually my first in dining experience since March. If it is as uncrowded and tasty as this, we will try more places. read more

Finally! I came here for my birthday lunch. My friend took me here as a birthday celebration. It was around 10:30 ish when we got here and there was a 45 minute wait already. My friend and I wanted to share, so we ordered two plates. We had the strawberry crepe and the spinach and mushroom omelette with 3 layers of mini pancakes. I really LOVE the omelete when you dip it into their sauce. The sauce was kinda similar to salsa. It was soooo goood! The pancakes were really fluffy. I thought it tasted good without the syrup because syrup was too sweet. But I do like the flavor of syrups they have. I thought the pink looking one was strawberry...but it was guava. I disliked the strawberries on the crepe. It was frozen strawberries. Defrosting it and mixing it into the crepe was disgusting. It had a sour and old taste. I wish they used fresh strawberries. I can eat breakfast items any meal of the day and Eggs 'n Things did not disappoint. I've been here several times and each time I came out feeling full and satisfied. My first items I had were the vegetable omelet with brown rice 3 eggs filled with an array of vegetables that kept my stomach happy till dinner. The next time I order this dish I opted for egg whites so worth it I wasn't too full but comfortably satisfied. Now the pancakes OMGoodness they are light and delicious pancakes best I ever had. COVID-19 Summer 2021 makes it hard to have meals in a timely manner so you have to plan it out. Today, we stopped here to have breakfast at lunch time. Staff was cautious and courteous as they sat us and took our order. I had the Island Fried rice, my daughters had Kalua benedict and Kalua spinach omelet with mac nut pancakes, and my wife had the French toast. All were so good. The sweetened cappuccino is good! I ordered an iced kona coffee and it was really bitter so I don't recommend it. A great place to have a nice and hearty breakfast. My wife and I stopped by twice while we were in Honolulu and we weren't disappointed. We both enjoyed the homey atmosphere coupled with simple and delicious food. We tend to avoid larger touristy restaurants when we travel and this was perfect because it is a locals destination with great portions and the perfect price point!
