We had breakfast for the first time there this morning (3 of us) and the food was great and service was awesome. Not been a good week for us and had a great actually best server we have had in a long time. Young girl, Valerie from Columbia (Think that's where she's from according to her name tag) - Our food was perfect Kudos to the cooks and our coffee/drinks were always full, our food and all our request were brought with pleasure, not like we were a bother. First, we had to wait... BUT, we got to play cornhole outside so the time went quick and the wait wasn't too long! The staff was really nice. The food was all good. I would like cooks to learn how to make over medium eggs, over easy are too runny, but very few cooks do over medium correctly. Sausage was good, the blueberry muffin was delicious. A big bowl of cheesy grits didn't last long enough , and the fruit was fresh. Some of the green melon was too hard, minor issue. Love this place! I come here every time I'm in Columbia, sometimes each morning! The eggs were great and perfectly cooked, even despite our excessive specifications! The service from Rachel was great and she always was there ready to top off coffee and check on us even though they were super busy. In town visiting some good friends for the holiday weekend and went here for breakfast to say the least one of my worse experiences in a restaurant, I order the corn-beef hash Benedict, the first was cold even it came out and had a hair in it the second one was not on biscuit like I had requested now I received the third one and the corn-beef tasted like it was out of a can. read more

I have been to Eggs Up Grill twice since they opened a week ago. The first visit I had the Eggs Benedict with their homemade hash. Sauce was excellent and the eggs were cooked perfectly!!! My second visit was on a cool rainy day, so I had Kale, Cheese and Sausage Soup with toasted Sourdough bread. Absolutely delicious. I am already addicted, so what can I say? I was very unimpressed with Eggs Up. I was there for breakfast this past weekend with my familly. We waited about 25 minutes for a table, which would have been just fine if the food was good. Unfortunately, that was not the case. My burger was horrendous. When you look at a burger and it is grey on the inside, that is never a good sign. Also, it came with nothing except melted cheese. No tomato or lettuce or anything else. My wife's food was all cold. Definitely take a pass on this place and try Le Peep instead. Much better. read more

It is okay at best. Always super busy on weekends and will have to wait for a table. Food is mediocre and most of the time they get it wrong when you try to have the omit certain items. Asked for certain items to be omitted in preparation and they could not accomodate. I have tried the waffles and they were always soggy and not completely cooked. Home fries are just potato cubes slightly seasoned. Omelets are nothing to rave about. Overall, quality of food is more than mediocre, but less than good. it is a place to get food, but nothing exciting. I have had much better for cheaper. read more

Hash Benedict is fantastic! Entire family loved their meal. Mickie mouse pancakes were a big hit with the littlest Ellis!

Still early days for the business. Hollandaise for the Benedict was thin and soulless (but the eggs were well poached). Biscuit managed to be flat, spongy and salty; almost no sausage in the starchy liquid they call gravy. Overall, too much salt on the plate (and I like salt). Don't be scared off by the "wait time" given (it was noticeably shorter) and WELL WORTH THE WAIT. They are extremely accommodating and the customer service is on par with some of the best places I have eaten. We started off one waitress that was so helpful for a first timer (but then was handed a party of 30!) and we were handed off to another waitress (LB -Laura) and I was a little nervous since the first was so helpful and I figured it wouldn't get much better. LB ran with the baton like a champ and made sure we were satisfied and happy! The menu was difficult to choose from ...because EVERYTHING sounded so good ... and what we ordered did NOT disappoint! The wait was not as long as published. I waited about 3 minutes. Employees were welcoming everyone with a smile. The food was delicious. I had the egg white omelet, home potatoes and raisin toast. So glad we stopped in for breakfast! They quickly and easily sat our party of six. Our server was friendly and attentive. There was something for everyone on the menu, even gluten free pancakes for me! The wait time for food wasn't long and that really mattered since two toddlers were in attendance. My husband travels around Columbia for work, and suggested we try Eggs up after passing by. We made the trip from Lexington this morning as we have yet to find a decent local breakfast spot. We arrived about 930, and were seated immediately. A definite plus for a warm Sunday morning. Our waitress was attentive without being annoying, and she suggested the hash Benedict with potatoes. I opted for her suggestion with an additional side of grits. My husband picked the humpy dumpty omelet. Our food was quick to arrive and perfectly cooked. The hash is definitely not tinned, although I don't believe it is as homemade as our waitress claimed. The potatoes were perfect, and I'm very funny about potatoes. The grits were uninspired and not nearly as creamy as I like my grits, and overall I'd probably skip the grits next time. They have a good sized menu, and there were a few things we would try next time. By the way, their pancakes are huge, and they are definitely not of the pre fabricated IHOP variety. I'd give it a solid 41/2 stars as is, and a five if they would do a little more with the grits. My husband says they should put pictures on the menu, so you can see the pancakes are ginormous. read more
