When we arrived we didnt know it was inside a market where theres alot of food stands so we saw the line and we arrived at 1120am and finally the girl took our ordered 25 min later :0 So thanks to my yelp friends i was able to see whats good so i ordered the Slut and the Fairfax add bacon and turkey sausage , husband had the cheeseburger and it had egg cheese inside and he added avocado he liked it but me when i had my first bite of my Fairfax was so delicious i was really enjoying every bite , the slut too we shared that and was good as well. I tried their coffee and i drink it black with a little bit of sugar and thought was strong perfect for me cuz i need the energy in the morning :p Cashier was really nice but the guy who gave us our food was really on it , he checked on us and remembered my name when we were leaving thats what you call customer service from the very beggining til the end we will come back when im done with all my bookmarks lol read more

EGG WHORES unite! Just kidding, I'm not about that life. I just wanted to try a tasty burger with an egg in it and the name of this place, you gotta admit, is pretty catchy, so we decided to drop by. For your first time, I recommend trying the Gaucho. The seared wagyu tri-tip steak and chimichurri sauce make this a flavorful burger. The over medium egg compliments the burger. I adore the brioche buns they use. We also had the opportunity to try their cheeseburger ( ground angus beef, caramelized onions, bread and butter pickles, cheddar cheese, dijonaise, and over medium egg) with bacon add-on, but flavors were relatively basic. I wouldn't order this again. Based on the reviews about the horrendous wait during lunchtime, I thought the line would take forever. However, the line went by really quickly in my opinion. Finding a seat at the counter is a challenge, but there's plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor seating nearby, if you don't mind taking the time to look around. Eggslut, the name say's it all !! The place for any egg lover, whether poached, coddled, or tucked beautifully in one of the most delicious breakfast sandwiches, you are definitely in for a treat. Beware as the lines do tend to get long, but that's only because I am not the only egg lover in LA, but the wait is definitely worth it. The first time I came here it was early so we only waited about 10 minutes which was pretty smart of me forcing our group to get here early. The steak and eggs were simply amazing that I was literally licking the plate clean. The breakfast sandwich, we'll watch out and don't wear anything fancy or white because you are sure to get some drippings, but hey there's always cleaners that can take care of that. Daaaaaamn this place is good. I got lucky (twice!) and avoided the dreaded long line that this place is known for. It might have something to do w the fact that the first time I went here was during an event at Grand Park, so maybe that's where everyone was. On my first trip I tried the Gaucho and it completely change how I feel about burger buns. There's power in the brioche bun and the arugula gives it the aromatic flavor that blends well w the meat, egg and chimchurri sauce. Boom! The second time I was intrigued by the name and had to try the Slut. This was so good, but such a tease. The poached egg sits on a potato smoothie that is seasoned to perfection, garnished w chives and poached in a glass jar that is hot when served ( I warned you) and is served with a side of a few slices of a fresh baguette. READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE GOING: Eggslut is not worth the hype. I basically waited an hour in line to pay $10 for an egg. If you're looking to overpay for a tiny meal and stay hungry, by all means, wait 20+ minutes in line and starve yourself. If you really have no choice, order double because there is nothing there that will satisfy a hungry stomach. The employees, however, are delightful. They're friendly and hard workers. It's entertaining hearing them say "slut" when making their famous "slut" entree. However, I don't enjoy staying hungry after dropping $10+ for one egg. I mean great marketing because Eggslut has managed to lie to people and get them to overpay for an egg. Well as far as I know they were served in burgers and in jars...that's new, especially in the jar thing. I've read that Eggslut used to be a food truck but it is no longer there. It is now in downtown LA. It gets all the attention because It's located right smack in the middle of the entrance to this International market where they serve all kinds of ethnic foods and groceries. I walked around and observed the different vendors offering affordable and tasty looking foods such as Mexican food, Chinese food, Thai food and much more. I would consider this place a fast food joint. The setting is bar like. You literally sit on the bar while watching the chef cook in-front of you. Most customers eat and leave within 15 mins. ~FOOD~ -Avocado burger: It had avocados, sunny side egg and beef patty. It was decent but nothing really special for $9 ( drinks & fries not included) -Slut: It had potato puree and eggs in it. It was served in a jar that's been boiled in hot boiling water for 15 to 20 mins. The purée was smooth and had a hint of butter taste. It was different and probably not my cup of tea...if it was served to me again I'll eat it but I will most likely never crave for it. Slut is $9 bucks. Eggslut is finally knocked off my list!! ~~~3.5 Stars~~~ The line is usually super long. I arrived at around 1030 am and didn't have to wait very long to place my order. Thanks for that tip, Joseph A! Eggslut is located inside Grand Central Market in DTLA. There's a parking structure for this market but drive slow so you won't miss it like I did. They use to validate with a minimum $10 purchase but now they're charging $2 for the first 90 minutes. I did not order their signature "Slut." It's a coddled egg on top of potato purée. It did not look like it would satisfy my tummy. I ordered the Fairfax on brioche bun $7.00. It had scrambled eggs, chives, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and sriracha mayo. It was pretty good. It went well with the arugula and manchego cheese side salad with red wine vinaigrette for $3.50. Would I drive back just for Eggslut? Probably not. It wasn't memorable enough for me to make the drive again. If I happen to be in the neighborhood or perhaps meet someone inside Grand Central Market, I might try their signature Slut. read more

Gosh, I really don't understand why Eggslut is so popular. I was extremely hesitant at first when I saw the line that wrapped all the way to the other side of the market but I figured, if people are waiting 40 minutes in this hot warehouse/hangar, it must be well worth it, or so I thought (The line stayed consistently long. for the few hours I was at the market.) One of the biggest peeves I have with Eggslut is that is they try to mark up the prices by marketing the burgers as using wagyu beef. This is not real wagyu beef and if there is a slight chance it is, the grade is so low that it would be the F+ of wagyu. Real grade A-5 wagyu is the meat of kings, tender, juicy and flavorful, but this? Nah just regular supermarket beef/steak. I had the Gaucho but had a taste of the Eggslut Double. Both were $11.00ea. I was pretty underwhelmed. The Gaucho wasn't bad at all albeit the meat was pretty chewy and it really reminded me of a steak version of a Banh Mi, except with a brioche bun and more savory. By no means is it 11 bucks good though and the same goes with the double. I mean, the price of a dozen large eggs is about what $1.50ish? and they were churning out large amounts of these things on their grills. You are better off buying 4 double doubles at in & out and add the egg yourself if you really gotta have it. In the end, we wasted 40 minutes of our lives and a total of about $30 for 2 burgers and 2 cokes. Don't believe the hype and use your hard earned cash and valuable time elsewhere. What you're wondering - It's like an overpriced Panera Bread. I came to this place based on all the rave reviews and recommendations, but I think it's overhyped based on its suggestive name and debuts on Instagram. 1. IS THE WAIT WORTH IT? - No, not really. I came in at around 2 p.m. and waited for about 40 minutes (this was Labor Day though). 2. HOW'S THE TASTE? - Ever had Panera Bread? It's kind of like that. Panera quality. Slightly bland but comforting to eat because it's mostly eggs, bread, and potatoes. I ordered the Slut ($9) and the Bacon, Egg and Cheese sandwich ($6), and an orange juice ($3) to wash it all down. - The Slut comes in a glass jar and is prepared in a tub of boiling water. At the bottom is mashed potatoes. There was hardly any flavor to this. I barely tasted the eggs in the dish. I'm not sure why it's so pricey--is the glass jar that expensive (which you can keep btw, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of cleaning it in the bathroom and putting it in my luggage). I just gave it back to them. - The sandwich tasted like any other breakfast concoction from Panera Bread. The bacon had no flavor either, which is surprising. - The only thing that did have flavor was the orange juice, which washed down all the disappointment and resentment lingering in my throat as I ate this stuff. 3. IS IT WORTH THE PRICE? - No. Even Panera Bread is cheaper. With all the gripe about the place being crowded and busy, I came here on a weekday around 3pm, which is an hour before they close. As for the parking, try the meters or look for those lots that charge around $5 for all day parking. $10 max charge for the Grand Central Market parking garage is a shame, even with a validation stamp. Hard core Yelper Maggie C. tells us that flat rate parking at 4th & Broadway is $3.75. EGGSLUT CHEESEBURGER Had the single patty ($8 as of 6/5/14). Add bacon and get the burger cooked medium rare. I got medium and that was a slight gamble. Ground american wagyu beef, caramelized onions, bread and butter pickles, cheddar cheese, dijonnaise, over medium egg, covered in a warm portuguese bun. I don't how anyone can hate this burger. YOU SLUT Supposedly, their signature item when Eggslut used to be a food truck. It's a coddled egg on top of a smooth potato puree, cooked in a glass jar for 10 minutes and served with seasoned crostini. I love eggs myself, but I didn't think this was all that. Too much butter. I could feel the coarse gray salt from each spoonful. A bit too creamy and it felt more like drinking sauce than anything else. I know some of you devour this substance. I can understand why. I WOKE UP LIKE THIS I have heard many good things about this place and was hyped up to go try it for myself! Yes i am an egg lover of course lol.... so here i woke up and just uber to downtown to get my egg slut on! Vibe/layout This was like in a private car garage kind of environment. It was hot inside and lots of people and vendors as well. There is a farmers market inside that sells organic veggies too. There were multiple vendors in there competing such as Mexican food, Japanese food, italian, american diner style food, and cold press juice, and GB coffee shop. But Egg slut definitely beats everyone with the line waiting. Egg slut is right in front of the entrance, so its hard to miss it. The long line will catch your attention real quick. Make sure you go get a horchatta or other mexican drinks from the vendors because it was so well worth the $3 for 32oz of refreshing drink, while waiting in line. Also there is a counter around the egg slut vendor, also outside eating on broadway, as well inside seating too. I do like to sit in front of the vendor counter and watch them make them egg slut while i sit there and enjoy my egg slut. On one end of the counter they have one cashier and ordering. On the other end they have the pick up order. Food FAIRFAX This was my fav out of all of them. Yes it was vegetarian without the meat. The egg was done right and was eating with yolk. Also the melted cheese was just awesome cheesy good! Also that sriracha mayo was just so tasty! Loved the brioche buns which was so fluffy and soft like a cloud. Every bite was fabulous flavorful! mouth drooling all over my keyboard goodness! GUACHO This was just something else, in a good way. Let me say that seared wagyu tri tip steak sounds so meaty good! It had a citrusy lime flavor to the tri tip, as well fresh seasoned red onions, cilantro and seasoned arugula inside to balance out the heavy juicy meat. Also a over easy egg inside the sandwich to make it an egg slut. This is perfect for meat lovers! EGG SALAD This one was just maybe ok. The hard cooked eggs with thinly sliced chives and light on honey mustard, with overflowing seasoned arugula in a warm brioche bun! This was a mess and impossible to eat with out a fork. Yes it was definitely more of a lunch time meal, and yes it was perfect for the time setting when i was there. Service/wait The wait was ridiculous long! yes it was an hour wait around 11am on a Sunday. I did make it all the way since i was really wanting to try this place out. The service was fast and the workers were rushing to make it as fast as they can. There was about 10 workers but still slow, but worth the wait. it is worth the wait if your a first timer and want to try it and see what the hype is all about. i think it is worth it if your craving for a good quality egg sandwich. My good friend Wan and I decided to meet at Eggslut for Sunday brunch. I was really looking forward to it even though I knew there would be a line. It was really long, but I didn't mind at all. It gave me time to snap some photos and people watch. Apparently, there is always a line for this place which must be a good sign. Just don't go there if you are in a hurry because that line is just for people who aren't in a hurry. I rate Eggslut 3.5 Stars which is right in between A-OK and I'm a Fan. Food: 3 Stars Don't get me wrong I live for a good fried egg sammy, but I didn't realize how much ketchup they put on the egg, bacon and egg sandwich. Don't even think about sitting in your car to eat it because no matter what you will have it all over your lap in about two seconds flat. Next time, I will ask them to give me the sauce on the side or ask them to go easy on it. They don't offer the steak and eggs anymore :( I got the Fairfax with sausage. It's a turkey sausage mixed with herbs and delicious!! The slut was also delicious, but the toast was on the salty side which tastes like sea salt. It comes in a jar with a potato mix on the bottom with the egg on top and you mix them together and spread it on your toast. Such a perfect combo and presentation. So while I was in LA over the weekend, I walked myself over from Little Tokyo, to the Eggslut at Grand Central Market, and had breakfast at Eggslut. I ordered the egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich ($6) and an orange juice ($3). Pricey, maybe for a breakfast sandwich, but worth it. The sandwich is made to order on a fresh bun. My bacon was crispy and there was a lot of it. Not two measly pieces but a pile. I was pretty impressed. It was topped off with a fried egg with melted cheese. As I bit into it, the yolk oozed out and mingled with the ketchup, cheese, and bacon. It was droolworthy good. Egg Slut stand features a long row of counter seating if you can find a seat. I ordered Avo burger with a third-pound patty an organic egg and cheese, house-made brioche buns, with hardwood smoked bacon, caramelized onions and Sriracha mayo. The burger was juicy and pink in the middle and the bacon was crispy with a smokey taste so good. The onions and egg just melted in my mouth like mouthwatering butter. The buns were toasted to golden brown and had a sweet taste to them really good. I also purchased the signature Thee Slut, coddled egg on smooth potato puree in a glass jar. I personally think this is their best item and is a must try. It was soo good it made my taste buds explode! 8p Over all It is a long wait for fairly expensive food but it taste really good and the employees were really nice. You open in and mix it all together. You the sink your spoon in and pull out some of this puree to put on the toast. i would've preferred a softer toast but the buttery puree was too amazing. It was creamy, flavorful, and smooth. egg and whipped potatoes put together. A work of art. Ain't a slut but I do LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE eggs!!!!! I've always wanted to come to the Egg Slut but those clusterfuck lines kept me from trying them. Since I stayed the weekend in DTLA, I figured a perfect time to come in would be on a Monday late morning and boy was I right!!!! It took me longer to find parking than waiting in line o_O. I really hate that. But it's LA whatcha goin do. I get in a short line and all is well until this itchy trigger finger French vanilla broad first walks along the line, then walks to the front looking for god knows what and finally gets her awkward ass in back of me while continuing being on the balls of her feet moving around and shit. I literally wanted to turn around and ask is there something you need!!!!!!???? Come to find out this bitch needed a menu. I'm a first timer and even I know the simple ass menu like the back of my hand. When the line got closer to the cashier, her over anxious ass finally got the menu SMFH! I wanted to order two things, The Fairfax with added bacon and The slut but I didn't know how it would travel back to OC. So I go for The Fairfax and I'm really kicking myself in the fluffy ass for not adding sausage as well! I walked downtown to the Grand Central Market to pick a SLUT! She has been sitting on that corner for a while now and never allowed me to experience all that she had to offer. cute little place by the market place they have a parking behind the building to eggslut that is free for 90 minutes and you pay it by the hour afterwards they have a seating area inside and outside at first I didnt realize the line was that long to order but line moved fairly quickly and gave me enough time for me to figure out what to get ended up ordering a slut to share with a friend and I got bacon burger and friend got a sausage burger and found a seat at the bar and sat there water was available for customers and the time it took them to make the food was very quick considering how busy they were loved how workers were sectioned out to what they do and they only did that one job slut came out first and we were in heaven and regretted not ordering two sluts (the egg was just perfect and never thought of that combination of potato puree and egg) definitely coming back for this the breakfast burgers were decent. I stopped by here about 15-minutes after they opened up and there was already a pretty long line which extended past the first wall next to the register! If you like eating in open space markets like this then Grand Central and Eggslut would be a great place for you to start your day. You can sit at the bar while you watch the cooks prepare the food in the back or sit outside next to the street and enjoy the nice L.A weather. Food: My girlfriend and i both ordered the fairfax but I added bacon and had it on a biscuit while she added avocado to hers. The sandwiches were absolutely heavenly and probably the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had in my life considering how cheap they both were(around $10 with the add ons). The eggs were so fluffy and rich, the bacon was smokey and crunch and the melted cheese and sweet caramelized onions really brought everything together. I wanted to try their sluts and other items but we had to save room for the rest of the day. I will definitely be back for more eggslut when I return to L.A. Service: Basically all self service. My days of chasing down food trucks are far over. Thank goodness Eggslut has a B&M spot! I love breakfast, at any time of day. Eggs are almost always associated with breakfast but they can be tossed in for any meal. For me, eggs have to have a runny yolk (unless scrambled). The slut it is. A beautifully coddled egg with potato puree poached in a glass jar topped with salt and chives served up with crostinis. Mix it all up and spread it on that crunchy bread for a heavenly slutty delight. Sweet yolk, creamy potatoes, salt and chive.. crunch from the crostini. PERFECT BRUNCH. Also had the Fairfax, and the sausage egg and cheese. Why can't breakfast be at Eggslut errrday!? Whenever I visit eggslut when I come visit LA, I go around 10:30am-11am and the line is less than a 5 minute wait. The longest wait I had to deal with was probably 20 minutes, but it is worth the wait if you like eggs as much as me. My recommendations are the slut, Fairfax, or the cheeseburger. My wife and I finally crossed this off our Foodie Bucket List to start our 2016 eating adventures. I'm not sure what more can be said about a place with thousands of Yelp reviews, but based on our first experience, I'd come here again. Eggslut was definitely a hipster foodie paradise and it lived up to the hype in terms of flavor: The Slut really is that good, a unique blend of poached egg and potato puree (with grey salt and chives) that melts in your mouth and contrasts well with the crunchy baguette slices. Is it worth $9? Absolutely not, but that hasn't stopped people from ordering it. To me, it's more like the perfect side dish than a main entree. Take it for what it is: an occasional and delectable splurge item. The Sausage, Egg, and Cheese, was also very good: housemade turkey sausage, over-medium egg (exactly how I like it), cheddar cheese and honey mustard aioli in a warm brioche bun. Flavorful, filling, and a slightly better value at $7. We waited just over 30 minutes in line and we were done with our meal 10 minutes later. Not too bad for a Sunday morning. The employees were all working their tails off yet remained polite and friendly. Seating at the counter was hard to come by, but thankfully there's plenty of chairs and tables in Grand Central Market and right along Broadway, which is where we sat. Come here before 10 am on a random weekday and you won't have to wait in a long line. That's what I did today, and there must have been 2 people ahead of me. I'm lucky though that I'm off from work so I can do that. We tried to eat lunch here in April when we were visiting my sister, but the line was too long and I was too hungry. We ended up eating elsewhere. I ordered the Sausage, Egg and Cheese over a salad ($7) instead of a sandwich. I saw when I was paying that they have biscuits too, so I ordered a side of biscuits. I'm so glad I did 'cause that biscuit was perfect! It was tender, flaky and buttery. It came with some syrup too. I ate part of my biscuits with the egg, sopping up some of the yolk that had oozed out of the perfectly cooked egg. The other half I drizzled with the syrup and it was more than fabulous. So so good! I had the best of both worlds with savory sausage and egg, and sweet buttery biscuits. I would like to taste their burgers or steak next time! Two hours. This was how long I waited to order this past Saturday at the hippest breakfast sandwich shop in LA. I've only had to stand in line for that long at Disneyland's Space Mountain and when I stage side for last summer's Taylor Swift concert. The line snaked from the register, across Grand Central Market, and then spilled outside down the sidewalk toward the historic Bradbury building. When we first arrived, waiters said it would take about 90 minutes. My friend and I entertained ourselves by catching up on our lives over the last 3 months, broadcasting a live periscope, refilling the parking meter once, and taking bathroom breaks. The good news is that after a 2-hour line it was our turn to order and the food arrived in only 10 minutes after placing our order. The staff was very professional, repeating the order enthusiastically to make sure that there was absolutely no possible way for them to mess up your order after you had been waiting for. that. long. "I don't know when I'll be back to try other things off the menu," I said, thinking this foodie will never stand in a line this long again. So in addition to our two sandwiches, I ordered an extra item: the "slut," a coddled egg atop pureed potatoes, all in a mini glass jar that they boil and extract from the water with giant tweezers. It's served with two long, thin slices of baguette. The yolk is slightly raw, slightly poached, and spreadable with the potatoes atop the bread. It's really nice, but too small and too expensive at $9 and the two slices of bread barely balance out with the amount in the jar (which you can keep*). The sandwiches were good but not special enough to justify the wait. The $7 sandwiches were more reasonably priced. They were housed between housemade brioche buns, which had a fluffy buttery quality with crispy edges - delicious! The egg was prepared medium with a nice and gooey yolk, and there was a patty of housemade sausage. I'm bummed that they no longer have the breakfast sandwich that is made on a biscuit. Biscuit breakfast sandwiches are huge in Seattle and I think a foodie opportunity is being missed here with Eggslut taking it off the menu. The kitchen is open and you can watch the staff prepare the food at the griddle and at the slut station on the right where there are layers of prepared glass jars in a giant bin of water and a man delicating submerging them. The grill master was furiously assembling what looked like 10 to 12 sandwiches at a time. I'm glad I checked my order because despite the staff being very professional and quick, they forgot to include the 2nd sandwich I ordered! Luckily I hadn't tossed my receipt and they gave it to me and apologized. We ordered "to go" but because a spot opened up at the kitchen bar seating, we sat and ate there. They have nice tall bottles of free water with plastic cups that you can enjoy while dining at the bar. I'm so glad I finally tried Eggslut, but I would only wait up to 30 minutes next time for it. I wonder if the line is shorter minutes before their 4pm close time or right when they open. * I kept the jar so I can attempt to make this at home and save myself the 2 hours. TIP: Parking is $3 an hour (with a 2-hour limit, ouch) on the street meters, and not much cheaper within the Grand Central Market parking structure. read more

Wait time is about 5 to 20 minutes for "to go" and much longer to seat at the counter. The counter is open to the street so it may get chilly or hot depending on the season. The menu is a combination of egg sandwiches on brioche bread with some additional dishes for lunch such as a salad, a burger, and a steak and egg plate. While waiting you get a clear sense of what the kitchen is delivering to the happy faces at the front of the line. By the time you reach the counter you have no doubt about what to get. The sandwiches are messy, in particular the one with a regular egg. Do not take it out of the wrapping or be ready for a melted cheddar / running egg bath. The combination of flavors is well balanced and the sandwiches are kept simple. They are almost manageable without a plate and utensils... We tried: Bacon egg and cheese: The complete opposite of the typical BEC sandwich. Light years away from what you could get at fast food chains. Thick and nicely cooked hardwood smoked bacon, with a medium organic egg topped with oozing cheddar and seasoned with chipotle ketchup. It is so umami. The ketchup adds a little sweetness that may not be appealing for some. A beautiful sandwich. The Fairfax: A more stable sandwich as the eggs are scrambled and not floating all around the wrapping. The eggs, even if scrambled, are still a little liquid and that it the perfect texture ( well done eggs are just too dry). The combination of the caramelized onions, sriracha mayo, and chopped chives, covered by a large square of melted cheddar creates a marvelous gooey texture vibrant in flavors and taste. The grand central market is improving, and slowly transforming into Foodies heaven. BBQ food, gourmet coffee shop, a cheese place, and now Eggslut . First time I was here everything was perfect, I ordered the Fairfax and I have to say it tasted great. Today I went again and I can't believe how dissapointed I was to get a completely raw burger. Literally this burger patty was not cooked at all , RED all the way in. I took a bite and tasted the RED chewy patty.
