Drove by and stumbled upon this tea shop and decided to give them a try. We agreed that their products have a distinctive flavor here. We liked it. We appreciate a different experience when grabbing some milk tea and such. We also enjoyed their taro milk tea and agreed that their boba was quite delicious. Will be back next time we are in this shopping center!
super yummy!! lady working was super nice and answered all my questions! i ended up going with the brown sugar milk tea latte. my only con is the straw isn't quite long enough for my liking. it reaches the bottom but barely so it was kind of hard to get all the boba out and i ended up finishing all the milk before getting all the boba out.
I've had my eye on Eightfold Tea Shoppe for so long, but they're a little bit out of the way for me so it took a while for me to get here. The photos of their product looks alluring, so I was hoping the presentation would correlate to quality products. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. They were out of all of the items I intended to try. No custard, no choux cream, no anything with matcha. And I heard them tell the guest after me matcha won't be available until maybe next week, so it isn't just a one night inventory issue. The cashier was sweet so I didn't want to give her a hard time so I ordered a Black Sesame Macaron ($4,25) and a Purple Taro Swirl ($6.80) 50% sweet. The black sesame macaron was hard. Allegedly it was just same on the same day but the maracon was both hard on the edges and interior. It should be a hard shell but with a chewy interior. And the buttercream filling was even hard. So unsatisfied for a crazy overpriced macaron. And I had to wait forever for the purple taro swirl. I get blending and hitting, and I saw the staff struggle to get the drink out into the cup, go back to the back to keep blending. I went from having an hour to kill to actually worrying that I'll be running late. The anticipation did not pay off cause I didn't like the drink. It was still a tad too sweet at 50% sweetness. And instead of tasting like taro, it tasted like coconut milk. Ugh I hate coconut milk in my drinks. I threw away more than 75% of the drink cause the sugar wasn't worth it to me. They have a stampcard but I don't plan on coming back. Given they were out of everything I actually wanted, and the things I actually tried sucked. I'm not coming back. It's way too inconvenient to come here to be disappointed. Staff was nice so I'm giving them a 3 star but how I feel about their products that I tried is at a 2 star.
food matcha not my fav and i feel so bad bc the service was so good tasted really sweet and really milky , it tasted like a honey dew not a matcha :( i know they are known for their custard cups so i would come back and try that service really good everything came with boba and i didn't know so when i received my drink i let them know i can't have boba and they kindly made adjustments but there should be a sign / customers should be informed but other than that great ambiance quiet i came close to closing not many people towards the end of the day on fridays but could be different for other days
I got the mango matcha and double green matcha drinks half sweet and they were alright. I do wish the matcha flavor was stronger. I like that there were mango bits in the mango puree, makes it seem fresh. I also like the honeydew flavor in the double matcha and the matcha pudding topping, I hadn't seen that combination before and enjoyed it. Drinks were made quickly. The shop had a cute vibe with seating indoors to hang out and chat over a cup of boba.
It's a small boba shop, but wow is their menu interesting! I stopped by here with a friend after lunch at a nearby ramen shop and grab their kiwi mojito mainly because it was labelled as non-caffeinated. I'd never seen any boba shops serve that, so I was excited to try something different. I'm glad I did because it actually was super good! It was refreshing, sweet, tart, and fizzy! Think like a kiwi soda with kiwi bits floating around. I adjusted my sweetness to 50% which was perfect because 100% definitely would have been too sweet for me. There was only one person working when we came, but she was super sweet and the drinks came out within 5-10 minutes. It looks like there are also some card/board games for people to play. There are a few seating options so it's probably good for hanging out with 1-3 friends. Super glad my friend recommended this spot.
I came in here to grab a drink since I was waiting around in the area. After looking at the menu on Yelp, I decided to get the Marbled Strawberry with boba, which is also on their best sellers list. I love strawberry and this drink was a delicious blend of strawberry and milk. The restaurant itself is quick small, so it's more of a grab and go kind of spot. The OC area has plenty of boba spots to choose from, so I was happy to give them a try and it turned out to be a good pick!
Eightfold Tea Shoppe is an aesthetic shop serving some up amazing loose leaf tea, matcha, and more! This spot is located in the same plaza where Target and Sprouts is but tucked more in the corner where the other small businesses are where there are a decent amount of parking spots. Inside, they about 3 tables for seating. They have an extensive menu with fruit teas, milk teas, matcha, coffee, and even a bakery section with Japanese cheesecakes! I opted for the pineapple paradise and could see them making it right in front of me with fresh fruit! The drinks here are refreshing and they have a cozy aesthetic! The staff here are very friendly and welcoming.
It's rare for me to strongly dislike a bubble tea spot, but unfortunately, this place gave me a bad experience and really disappointed me. I ordered online for pickup through Yelp, and when I arrived, the staff informed me they had no access to the online ordering system. While I don't blame the staff for this issue, the person I spoke with was neither helpful nor knowledgeable about how to resolve it. I had to call Grubhub to sort out the problem, and luckily, their customer service was helpful. Despite the online ordering mishap, I decided to try their signature milk tea with boba. The cup had an odd parchment-like paper sealing it, with a plastic lid on top. When I took my first sip, I had to resist the urge to spit it out because the flavor was so unexpected. I was expecting a milky black tea with a hint of brown sugar, but instead, I got a weird minty flavor with an unpleasantly bitter aftertaste. Whatever tea was used in their signature milk tea was not a black tea I'm familiar with, and this is coming from a tea lover. Unfortunately, by the time I tried the drink, I had already left the area, so it wasn't worth it to return. I definitely won't be coming back to this bubble tea shop.

We came in for boba and were pleasantly surprised that they also offer desserts. We tried the pistachio custard in a cup and it was a perfect match with our drinks. Just the right amount of sweetness and richness and it didn't feel heavy at all. Will definitely come back and try other flavors! read more

Eightfold is easy to drive up to in a great plaza! I love when you walk in you immediately notice the beautiful flowers and the pastries. They have the menu right above and the cashier in front when you walk in. I did also notice a fridge of macaroons and was extremely tempted to try them! My first time here I tried the Summer Cloudy with Honey boba as the staff mentioned it was similar to the marbled strawberry they no longer make due to new management. I also asked about the Yelp check in offer but they no longer do that either. I must say the Summer Cloudy was amazingly delicious it had a strawberry puree, fresh strawberries, cheese foam, milk and I added the honey boba but they also have other options. I definitely recommend this place it's in the Target plaza on Harbor and Baker!!! read more
I got eightfold signature with 25% sugar and it was pretty good! I like my boba/bubble tea not that sweet and this was pretty good in terms of sweetness. Having 25% sugar and less ice did not dilute the tea that much and I was able to enjoy the taste of it. I compared it to the brown sugar boba without any modifications and it was too sweet. I would probably go back to try the other drinks that they provide here, most likely with modifications with the sugar/sweet level. Besides this, the place is great. It's conveniently located, and it looks like a good place to hang out for a little while as there are a lot of seating options and they provide a few games like UNO. We waited outside before Eightfold open, we can see the young girl mopping the floor. I called to see if they open at 11AM because it's 11:05 and she can see us through the door standing there! She finally opened the door and said NOTHING! Too many nice places for Boba and tea, etc. Left and went elsewhere. read more

I'm giving 4 stars for how sweet and friendly the workers are. I ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea but I felt like something was missing from it. The drink didn't taste sweet enough but instead, more watered down. I think this was just an isolated incident as I also tried my friend's drink and her drink tasted pretty good. I wouldn't mind coming back again and trying a different drink. Besides that, the interior was really adorable and had lots of little plants. read more
I got the double green w 75% sweetness and no boba. I thought it was really delicious and loved the combination of honeydew and matcha. Thought the pudding texture was pretty interesting because it drank w a thicker grainy consistency instead of smooth as I had expected but was very tasty and not too sweet. I think I maybe could have gone down to 50% without losing tastiness and might try that next time. I also loved that the cashier/barista offered me a sample of their california(?) drink and it was also really delicious; it was a sweet coconut milk taste w maybe subtle fragrant notes of a fruity tea taste. We ordered 7 drinks and it was super fast. Got the raspberry matcha at 75% sweetness and checked-in on Yelp to get the free topping and 10% off. My choice was matcha pudding. Also got winter melon milk tea no boba. Forgot to request sweetness level so it was at 100% which was too sweet for me. I really enjoyed the raspberry matcha mix. The matcha wasn't too strong or over powering as it mixed with the fruity raspberry. It's all one size and price ranges from $5.95-$6.95. Also be careful with caffeine because it's either black tea, Jasmine tea or green tea. read more

I've been going to eightfold for about 3.5 years! This place is worth it. There are so many options that you can choose from: fruit teas or milk teas. Caffeine free options available. The staff are friendly and service quick. There is indoor seating if you have a group or meeting with a friend. I would recommend the salted caramel or eightfold signature. Such a great find! This boba shop is definitely underrated and needs to be talked about. They also have yelp deals at the moment PARKING: Free in the plaza it's located. SERVICE: I totally forgot the sweet lady's name who helped me navigate the menu. She shared her recommendations, customer favorites, and asked me what I was craving. She even asked how I liked my drinks in such a genuine way once I tried it. Tough to find service and just niceness like this nowadays! DOUBLE GREEN: This unique drink comes with honeydew, condensed matcha, matcha pudding, and boba. Super cool flavor with the hint of honeydew and I loved the texture that the matcha pudding adds. Overall, definitely worth a try! I got this at 75% sugar and it wasn't too sweet, but I would probably drop it down to 50% for my own personal preference. 4 NOBLE TEA: This drink comes with fresh orange, lychee, passionfruit, and watermelon. I added aloe to this and it complemented it perfectly! Dare I say that this is comparable to Sunright's fruit tea drink. Overall super refreshing and definitely a great go-to on a hot day. I got this at 75% sugar and it was good, but I would probably drop it down to 50% for my own personal preference. STRAWBERRY MATCHA: This is a classic drink that I ordered with boba. Eightfold Tea Shoppe definitely gives me mixed signals, hence, the 3-stars. I've gone to this shop about 5 times, and almost every time I ordered the same drink, it was made differently. I tend to order the "Deep Matcha" with less sweetener and each time, the bobarista asks me how I want the sweetener adjusted. When I ask where the sweetener is in the drink, I've been told the sweetener is in the matcha powder and I've also been told the sweetener is in the pumps of matcha. So, I've had a few bobaristas adjust the powder and a few the pumps. I'm assuming it's a bit of lack of understanding of the drink itself or training in general that causes confusion between the employees. I have ordered the "Deep Matcha" as is twice and it still varied. More consistency is highly needed for this shop because the same drink I've been ordering tastes different every time. Other than that, I love the look of the shop and the interior is very cute as well. There's plenty amount of tables available and the decorations are adorable too. All in all, I think if the shop worked on training their employees a bit more, it would improve the quality of the drinks significantly. I don't think I'll be returning for awhile but I will revisit in the future with hopes there will be some improvements made. read more

I think I have found another boba shop that does good quality fruit teas and peahc oolong tea in the Costa Mesa/Irvine areas! The shop is in the same plaza as Target, and near Ikea so it's a good drink to take while you go shopping. They have a variety of milk teas, fruit teas, and few snacks. Their coffee flavors are interesting, such as avocado flavor. Their dirty matcha drinks remind me of Omomo, which I would try it next time, maybe with the avocado coffee haha. We ordered: 1. Mango Green Tea - less ice 75% sweet 2. Peach Oolong Tea - less ice 25% sweet Overall, I would give both a solid 9/10. The drinks are not too sugary and the tea flavor is very distinct, so I really like that because the ingredients taste real. The store itself is super clean and cute, it's a nice place to sit down for a bit and catch up with a friend, or even work if you want to. I was quite disappointed with this boba place. It's hard to go wrong with boba but my drink was not delightful. I got the brown sugar boba and it felt as it was not mixed properly. This place is a hidden gem in Costa Mesa if you have never been. Eightfold Tea Shoppe specializes in all bubble tea and this is a spot you definitely need to visit! I tried five drinks (Eightfold Signature w/ Crystal Boba, Marble Strawberry w/ Boba, Jasmine Milk Tea w/ Crystal Boba, Strawberry Green Tea, Summer Lojito), and let me say, I'll be back for more. Eightfold Signature w/ Crystal Boba: You can never go wrong with a signature drink at a boba shop. I felt the tea and the milk wasn't overpowering each other which I love because I can never decide if I love the tea flavor more or the milk. This drink is even more perfect when you add their crystal boba popping. The perfect combination. Marble Strawberry w/ Boba: 2nd best drink on the menu! This drink reminded me of strawberry milk and strawberry milk ice cream (iykyk). This was super light and creamy and the boba was cooked to perfection. If you love sweets, then you must try this drink! Jasmine Milk Tea w/ Crystal Boba: The tea flavor in this was much stronger than the eightfold signature. This is also on the sweeter side so if you don't like your milk teas too sweet then make sure to get less sweet! Again, you can never go wrong with Jasmine Milk tea at any boba shop! Strawberry Green Tea: This drink was super light and refreshing. I felt like the green tea flavor was overpowering the strawberry which isn't bad if you love green tea. Wow wow wow!! I really didn't think boba could get any better but Eightfold really is super unique and they have a huge selection and flavors of drinks. Their dragonfruit tea is 100x better than Starbucks because they know how to make it taste right. It's also my new favorite tea flavor! Their very Berry lojito is extremely refreshing. Their avocado coffee is super unique and hits the spot. Strawberry Yakult is also perfect. The staff here is also INCREDIBLY kind. I've never felt so welcomed at a boba shop. Getting greeted so warmly really makes a huge difference. It also helps that the drinks taste PERFECT. The flavors are really elevated here. Haven't been here since they first opened. Got the double green (matcha and honeydew) and it was pretty solid. Tasted like a melona honeydew ice cream bar with some decent matcha powder and milk. Boba was decent chew quality and the matcha pudding was less sweet than your regular egg pudding. No complaints here and the decor was as cute as before. Good customer service as well. read more
So many good options for boba and tea that it was so hard to choose! This aesthetic boba shop is tucked into a large plaza and the customer service was great. I took them up on pretty much all of their recommendations or popular drinks and this is what I got: Brown Sugar Fresh Milk: This one is meant for indulgence. The cream cheese topping is the perfect touch to the brown sugar milk. Definitely recommend. Double Green Matcha: The honeydew was such an interesting touch to the matcha flavor. I would get the just the deep matcha next time just because I wasn't the biggest fan of it. That said, the matcha pudding was so good that I could eat a bucketful. Marbled Strawberry Fresh Milk: My favorite drink by far! It tasted like the strawberry milk drinks you'd get at your typical Asian store but much more fresh. I think I would even add cream cheese topping next time to take it to the next level. 4 Noble Tea: A refreshingly light drink topped with fresh watermelon and an orange slice! It's one of the most popular drinks so if you're indecisive like me then probably go for this one. Summer Lojito: I didn't even know what a Lojito was but I thought it sounded cool and I'm happy it was as good as it sounded. It's a carbonated drink so it tasted like a fruit soda! If your sweet tooth is kicking in or you need your boba fix, I would recommend stopping by because they have something for everyone. read more

Eightfold is a gem of a boba place in Costa Mesa! Thank you so much for inviting me in to try any 5 drinks off the large menu! After trying the below, excited to come back and try additional options... I feel like it will be really hard to only order one drink at a time! :P Summer Lojito: balances the tartness and sweetness of passion fruit and mango for a bubbly and refreshing experience. Eightfold's kind staff member recommended adding aloe, and it was the perfect addition. Eightfold Signature with Cheese Cream: I love a good cheese cream and asked for a double serving to get my fix. Savory, sweet, and creamy to complement the milk tea flavor. Marble Raspberry Fresh Milk: good raspberry flavor and this made us curious to try the strawberry version too! Deep Matcha: the matcha pudding was so delicious and had a delightfully soft texture! Would definitely order this again. 4 Noble Tea: super refreshing and fun textures and flavors due to the fresh orange, lychee, passion fruit, and bits of watermelon. Sweetness Level: customizable levels and we went with 25% (the lowest setting without saying 0%), which was great because I don't enjoy super sweet drinks. Boba Texture and Flavor: well cooked, with that pleasant chewiness (QQ factor) that I love, and the flavor/sweetness was marinated well into the boba itself. Service was super friendly and helpful, and parking was easy because Eightfold is in a large shopping plaza. An excellent place and the variety in the menu is outstanding. read more

Eightfold Tea Shoppe is such a cute little place located in a plaza with Target and Sprouts! I got the double green 75% sweet which is a honeydew, condensed matcha, matcha pudding, and boba! Two toppings!! Both the flavors do not overpower and they balance each other out. It was not to sweet and was a great drink! Overall for the drink and the place I give it 4/5 stars. *TIP! Super friendly and quick service! I got a honey green tea full sweet, but it wasn't very sweet at all. Just be aware! I, personally, like full sweetness because I like my drinks SUPER sweet. However, this place seems more like a legit tea place since my drink was really tea-y. The tea flavor was almost overwhelming. I think I would have to get 150% sweet next time or something. I tried the wintermelon milk tea, and that one was less tea-y compared to mine. It was definitely sweeter. Ample parking, but the place is really small with just a few tables. Probably not good for a big group! There's also only one table outside. read more

ORDERS: - Oreo Brown Sugar Fresh Boba Milk: sweet, milky, and very brown sugary. I love the extra sweetness from the Oreo and it was just delicious. - Double Green: my fav drink! Honeydew matcha milk tea with matcha pudding. I love how you can taste both the honeydew and matcha flavors and none were overpowering. - Avocado Coffee: legit blended avocado with a splash of coffee. Simple was delicious if you like this combo! - Thai Camo: blended thai tea and cream cheese on the side. Nice and creamy and milky. I just wish there was a more potent thai tea flavor. - Marbled Raspberry: very aesthetic due to the marbling. Raspberry flavoring was there and I feel they actually purée the raspberry but I'm not sure on that. Drink was nice, fresh, a lil sour cause of the raspberry. A nice little tea shop where you can play some table games like Uno, Dominos and Jenga. There's a little seating area as this place is pretty tiny. I had ordered the Marbled Strawberry with boba and Thai Tea. Both drinks were just good, tasted exactly how you would imagine it, but I think I would go for the strawberry matcha next time as the marbled strawberry just tasted like a less dense strawberry milk that was on the watery side. It's a cute little store and you can definitely spend a lot of time on jenga here. read more
I don't know if I'm ordering the wrong stuff but the matcha drinks I've gotten here are really not worth a dollar even. Previously got the matcha strawberry a year ago and remember it just tasted like strawberry milk. Then I decided to try this place again the other day. The Yelp pics of the deep matcha drink looked so good but mine was disgusting. The matcha if good quality should be a bright green and fragrant smell...and this was muddy green. No flavor and not a good quality matcha. Also on top of it they only offer soy milk as an alternative milk and I wanted to try the matcha pudding and they were out lol prob for the best. Would've give a 1 star because the yakult drink doesn't include yakult, it's the cheap yogurt drink...why call it yakult when you don't even use yakult? you know it tastes way different if you ever had those two. Marble strawberry had no marble, the girl just dumped a chunk of strawberry purée on the boba. So it looks NOTHING like the pictures in review. Same for deep matcha. No marble. Seriously, Starbie's matcha latte tastes and looks better than this. It also tastes weird I'm not sure if it's because they use pre-made milktea...like the girl legit pour the milktea from a 1gallon milk bottle, yea they store pre-made milktea in that, from the fridge.. Will not go back and if anyone wants to go there because the good looking marbled drinks...look at my pics and think again. Idk why I would come here when there are so many good boba places around here so I kinda blame myself for making this choice. Hence why I give 2 stars instead of 1. read more

Not a bad place, I got a lychee fruit tea 50% sweet and it was fine. I would say that So Cal has a lot of great boba shops and this is one that isn't terrible but not my first choice. The menu is a bit hard to understand at first, but after you understand it, it's easier. There are some that are set recipes and then the usually category and flavor. Store is generally clean and nice, and the cashiers are nice. No complaint on that front. read more

great drinks and warm hospitality. Their boba is perfectly chewy and there's plenty of options to satisfy everyone. We got most drinks at 25% sweet and they were sweet without being overwhelming. Inside is cute with a few tables for seating. One note is that their cheese cream is quite thick so you may opt for a bit less if that's an issue. read more
The double green drink is very unique it has matcha and honeydew flavor that cannot get at the other tea shops. This place is on my good boba list haha given sooooo many boba shops around. The milk tea I tried was ok just like typical milk teas but the green drink stood out to me. I would get drinks here if I'm in the area. read more
This tea shop is really cute and aesthetic! They offer a wide variety of drinks that are super refreshing! We got 6 drinks and all of them were great! 4 Noble Tea - This was my favorite drink! It was really good with slices of fruit and was and not too sweet just the way I like it. Jasmine Milk Tea Cheese Cream - I enjoyed the cheese foam a lot! It really complements the jasmine milk tea well. Strawberry Tornado - This was like a strawberry slush. It had a thicker consistency and tasted refreshing. Raspberry Matcha - I loved the raspberry seeds in the drink because I enjoy the texture. The matcha was on point and wasn't overly sweet. Wintermelon Green Milk Tea - My second favorite drink after the fruit tea! The boba was chewy and tasted great! Brown Sugar Fresh Milk - I'm not big on brown sugar drinks so I wasn't the biggest fan, but if you are I'd recommend it! Check out this cute tea shop if you're in the area! I was excited to try this place for the first time and was quite disappointed. The drinks were just ok but the worker seemed annoyed with me, or at least that's how it felt like. Let's just say I overheard something the worker said about me after I placed the order that made me really upset. I actually wrote the whole story as I sat there waiting for my drinks but I decided to take it out from this review since it could be a one time thing. I hope they don't always talk about their customers while the customers are still in the store. I ordered the matcha latte with boba and cheese cream Jasmine tea with boba. I'm glad the drinks were just ok so there is no reason for me to come back. The matcha tasted powdery, very light matcha. The boba was very disappointing, not sweet or chewy, kind of soft. Jasmine tea and cheese foam were good, but I've had better at other places. Overall, the drinks were just average and boba was not good. 3 stars for the drinks. I won't deduct any star for the service because maybe I was hearing things, who knows. read more

Does your matcha pudding contain egg?
No. Matcha pudding does not contain egg, but we are currently out of matcha pudding, it may back next week
Is sweetnesses adjustable at this boba place? Was curious if there are sugar free options. Thank you
Depends on the drink you get, I think. I had a raspberry matcha latte and I think the lowest they had for that was 25% sweetness, bc of the raspberry purée. That would probably be applied to other similar drinks
Do you offer soy/almond/oat/coconut milk as an alternative to the nondairy creamer?
They do not have almond milk. The other answer posted is incorrect. They only have soy milk.
Lactose free options?
For now, they use just non-dairy creamer and Soymilk. They are working on making an Oatmilk.
Is this place a good place to study?
It could be! They have WiFi! There are only 5 tables with 2 outlets - 1 next to table near door and 1 in the middle of the store next to tables.
