This time I tried one of their specials - a soup and sandwich combo for $8.95 - and it completely exceeded expectations. The soup was basically a deconstructed pot pie with a homemade biscuit on top, and the portion was huge. I happened to get the last serving from the pot, so they hooked it up with a little extra instead of letting it go to waste, which I definitely appreciated. What really stood out was how hearty it was. There was way more protein than you'd expect from a typical soup, so it was actually filling and satisfying, not just something light on the side. Definitely a great value for the price.

Our server, McKenzie, was incredibly accommodating and kept a smile on her face despite the restaurant being packed. There was a small mix-up with my order, but McKenzie handled it immediately and happily, turning what could have been an inconvenience into a complete non issue. She was welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious! Every bite was worth the wait, and we're already talking about making this part of our regular Sunday routine. The atmosphere was just as enjoyable as the meal. It felt very family oriented, with everyone enjoying good food, good company, and a great time. The entire restaurant had a friendly, welcoming vibe that made the experience even better. Thank you for a wonderful visit. We'll definitely be back and next time we'll come hungry enough to justify ordering dessert too!

He showed up, looked disheveled. T-shirt was out, messy with food crumbs all over his shirt. He had a dirty cloth in his hands. Took our drink order and our meal. Then he never came back. Again we asked the hostess to intervene. Got our food. He never came back to refill our drinks or take away our dirty dishes or ask if wanted more fish. Other tables in his section had dirty dishes on them and needed to be cleared. We looked for him and saw he was shooting the breeze with coworkers instead of waiting on customers. We asked hostess when KJ came to work, thinking he might be at the end of his shift and was tired. He started his shift at 4 pm and we came to eat at 6 pm. Overall, he needs more training to be a waiter or needs to be fired! We will return to BBD, but at Shenandoah location next time because the food is excellent!!

We split the breakfast sandwich panini and one of their giant cinnamon rolls. The rosemary potatoes were perfectly seasoned with an incredibly velvety texture, and dipping them into their signature Victory Sauce was absolute perfection. The breakfast sandwich was outstanding, with thick, meaty, flavorful bacon on a buttery croissant that tasted like it had just come out of the oven. We paired everything with a caramel hazelnut iced coffee that was perfectly balanced, and the cinnamon roll had just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming. What really stood out was the quality. Everything is made from scratch with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and you can absolutely taste the difference. On our way out, we could not resist taking home two pies and the cutest strawberry Pop-Tart covered in patriotic sprinkles. They looked almost too pretty to eat. The food alone would have earned five stars, but the hospitality made the experience unforgettable. The owner was incredibly genuine and treated every customer like a VIP. She has a true heart for veterans and took the time to personally thank my husband for his service. That kind of kindness is rare and speaks volumes about the people behind this wonderful business. Victory Pie Co. has earned loyal customers in us. We cannot wait to come back and work our way through the rest of the menu.

It has the best food and decor and great service. If you're looking for a place with unique food and popular food like crepes then this is the place!!! Wholly Crepe!!

Wholly Crepe!! Russian Bistro - Tomball…read more What does authentic Russian hospitality look like? It looks less like a restaurant and more like a small doorway into someone's home -- a place where food is not rushed, and conversation is part of the meal. EXTERIOR: At first glance the building is modest, almost shy. A few outdoor seats, a quiet frontage, and public parking just around the corner. The kind of place you could easily pass -- and shouldn't. INTERIOR: Once you go up the steps, open the door, and the Northwest Houston surroundings fall away. The room feels lifted from a Russian village house, ( ): warm wood floors, wooden window frames, and intimate spacing. If you've ever been to Russia or watched any of the Russian movies or cartoons, this space will be familiar. Four tables and sixteen chairs, sit to the left; to the right, a narrow staircase evokes a country dacha, (). Larger tables gather families together, even a few small chairs waiting for children. Main room offers unique, (in glass shelves) Lomonosov Porcelain 1744 dishes, from St. Petersburg. As well as, carved wooden dishes, hand-painted details. Ask Mila and Bill for details. RUSSIAN HOSPITALITY: Arriving shortly after opening, Bill greeted me with a smile. Conversation came naturally and without agenda, as if we've known each other a long time. Mila, came out shortly after from the kitchen and I was able to converse with her in Russian and English. Both shared their meet story and how they decided to start this adorable business, May 2015. The story feels better heard from them directly. I set down to look at their abundant menu options. Meals here require patience. Many dishes are prepared from scratch. Part of Russian Hospitality is to welcome you in to their home, sit you down, spike up a genuine conversation and make a delicious home cooked meal. The rhythm slows; the outside schedule becomes irrelevant. I decided to order four of their popular dishes; #7 Tvorog Crepe, #24 Smoked Salmon Crepe, Siberian Pelmeni Bowl, and Cheburek. Let's go over each dish briefly. Gordon Ramsay once said - The way to know when something is cooked from scratch or microwaved is by the amount of steam or sizzling coming from the plate. #7 Tvorog Crepe - $12 Homemade Ricotta Cheese, Choice of Berries, Condensed Milk or Honey. I ordered mine with mixed berries, white powder and condensed milk. Something about taking each bite dipped in condensed milk with all the toppings makes your taste buds dance. Generous portions. #24 Smoked Salmon Crepe - $16 Tvorog Cheese, Salmon, Cherry Tomato, Green Onion, Salted Dill. As someone that adores a good salmon dish, clean flavors and a proper texture contrast -- delicate fish against warm crepe. The pairing works and generous portion. Siberian Pelmeni Bowl (24ct) - $17 Handmade dumplings in butter with your choice of dipping sauce. True Russian Hospitality - dish ware presentation along with the cuisine. The three-layered, brown color bowl looked presentable. Pelmeni looked freshly made and the steam coming from the bowl would make Gordon Ramsay smile. A slightly meatier filling would improve the ratio, but the flavor remains familiar and nostalgic. Cheburek - $9.50 Handmade Fried Meat Pie filled with Ground Beef & Onion. Served with your choice of dipping sauce. Good presentation and the taste was a good pairing combination with sour cream. Exterior texture was crispy, while the interior was soft. A fuller filling would strengthen it. OVERALL EXPERIENCE: While photographing the dishes, some cooled before I could eat them. Mila noticed and worried -- a small moment can be explained. If you've been around a Russian woman, you know they want nothing but the best for you when it comes to food. Wholly Crepe!! Offers some of the most unique and delicious cuisines for those who crave something different. Everything is made to order, from scratch, in small batches preserving authenticity and flavor. Come prepared to pause. The reward is a meal that feels cooked for you, not merely served to you.

The little ceramic dogs her mothers friend had had, the fancy cake plate... Interesting, I suppose. This is an order at the counter, pay in advance, and they give you a little flag with a number on it place. Okay, pet peeve one, I hate tipping in advance, but it is a common kiosk thing now. Pet Peeve 2 all the prices rang up a dollar or two higher than the menu prices. (Soup and sandwich menu price 13 rang up 15) I understand inflation is a thing but if you're going to raise prices, go ahead and hit print on some new menus. It's a short menu, it's only two pages long. Second fact, prepare to wait. Maybe one chef back there hand wrangling each burger or sandwich by hand. Third fact there's about six tables with comfortable chairs and the rest have hard plastic chairs. so if you are coming at a busy time, you aren't going to have a padded seat. Countering these irritations is the fact that the food is actually really really good. It is simple fare, but really well done. The potato soup hovered just on the soup side of the line between potato soup and mashed potatoes, but had fresh crispy bacon and scallions added right before serving. The roast beef sandwich had sliced roast freshly from the oven just for this sandwich. So we got five star food but the rest of the package doesn't add up for me. I'm going to give it four.
