I have lived in the area for about 5-6 years now and have had horrible experiences at this location. Every time I go, I promise myself I will never again- and I love Einsteins bagels! It has been a few years since I last went but decided I would pop in and get a bagel and coffee instead of my go to at Starbucks across the street. I walked in at 11:19am to about 5 or 6 people in line. I did not place my order until 11:36 and did not walk out until 12:00pm. That's right, it took over 40 minutes to receive two precooked bagels, warmed up with smear, and a cup provided (as I got the ice coffee that was at the drink kiosk around the corner). I did not even get a complicated sandwich or complicated beverage. It took 15 minutes to get the two bagels. When we got them- one was incorrect. We returned it and the Assistant Manager who was ringing people up gave it back to the woman making the sandwiches. Another 10 minutes went by and nothing. When I went back up to address the issue, the Assistant Manager said "You gave it back to me?" the other person said "I know nothing about this." Not one person apologized or took blame for 1. The error 2. Not correcting it. This is basic customer service. On top of it there was only one person ringing people out- the "Assistant Manager" who messed up multiple orders, and then only two people making sandwiches/bagels. This was on a Sunday morning. There were two other employees that were walking around not accomplishing much. The line went out the door and people started to just leave. I only write this because I have lived in the area of years, the yelp reviews show the customer service and management is atrocious. As a huge chain, you are missing out on a fantastic location just north of Georgetown where young families live and tourist are abundant! read more

Slowest service I've ever experienced ordering a bagel. 15 min to get a bagel is unacceptable!

Nice people, relatively quick service. But never order their smoked salmon bagel. The picture on their menu is a lox bagel with a sliced tomato, capers, and cream cheese; in reality I received shredded, fully cooked salmon with a diced cucumber, tomato, caper salsa under it. I was better off ordering a plain everything bagel as that's the only part I could manage to eat. In the future I'll be going back to the breakfast place across the street. read more

The service in this place is atrocious! I waited for 35 minutes for my bagel and it is still not ready. This place gives the entire chain a bad name. Not only are they taking forever to make my order, but they are already out of bananas at 10am on a saturday morning and they are out of plain bagels. I could understand this if i came in at 4pm, but not at 10am on a Saturday morning. If you have anywhere to be in the day or wish to eat breakfast do not come to this place and find somewhere else that will make your food in a timely manner and will have all products available. When i got my meal i had asked for no tomato - my bagel had tomato on it and i had asked for a plain bagel (they were out of them) so i then asked for an asiago bagel - they gave me a wholemeal bagel. I waited 35 minutes for a cold incorrect bagel. Not to mention i asked for fruit salad as my side and they gave me potato salad. Also remember to put triple the amount of money in the parking meter outside because your quick meal will definitely take three times longer than it should just to receive your food. read more

This place doesn't even deserve one star, but Yelp forces you to choose something. Today's experience has turned me off Einstein FOREVER. This is the second time I have gotten the wrong food at this location. I should have learned from the first time...but foolishly, I placed my to-go order, waited, and walked out the door without checking. I got to my office ready to eat my tasty asparagus, mushroom and cheese bagel. And then I opened the package and discovered...sausage and cheese. Since I am a pescetarian, I just wasted $6. And I don't have the time to go back. I will tell everyone I know not to go to Einstein. read more

Bad customer service. A basic order shouldn't be this tough. Listen - type - repeat back. Parking is even worse. Since they relocated this place it has really gone downhill. Epilogue once I got to my office and I found out that the bagels I had ordered were not toasted so I got cold soggy bagels instead. read more

Sad to report a horrible customer experience. After finding the store had no plain bagels at 12:30 on Sunday (nor sesame seed) proceeded to order 5 everything and one cinnamon raisin. Sadly, order was flipped, a fact learned only after getting home. Ran to store to get order exchanged and was told no go by the manager, who herself apparently had checked the order. I placed a catering order for a family breakfast I was hosting in my hotel suite following my son's wedding last weekend. I have to say, despite other's poor reviews, our experience was very good and I would do it again. I would give 5 stars except delivery was about 15 minutes late and we had people who needed to get to the airport sooner than later. Our order was complete, fresh, and delicious. Bagels, pastries, and muffins were fresh, eggs sandwiches hot and filling. A huge bowl of fresh fruit, plenty of hot coffee, and a generous bottle of orange juice. All tableware, napkins, condiments were included. It was a great way to feed 20 people good food quickly in a private space for a fair price. Much better than what our hotel was providing and more convenient when everybody had flights to catch before Noon. read more

**AVOID AT ALL COSTS** This place is an embarrassment to the entire Einstein Bagel Bros name. Their franchise license needs to be revoked by its HQ. 35min waits on simple bagels is terrible, considering I've been to many Einsteins with exceptional service. Then were told they have run out of plain bagels, no problem. Then 5min later they say they've run out of bananas for the nutty monkey order i had, so my bagel is just Nutella. Seriously send someone across the road to the grocery store and buy more bananas, it's unacceptable to run out of a basic ingredient like this at 10am. Many other people around us started to complain because it seems huge wait lines for "fast food" at this joint happens regularly. There's no sense of urgency and the staff don't care. When food finally came the order was messed up, just shook my head in disbelief but then laughed because I could not say I was surprised Avoid this place! The food was great. I always get a lox sandwich and it was as good as always. However, we found staff to be a bit rude. We had another couple of friends with us and both of us had kids who were running around. I will not be returning to Einstein Bros Bagels. I went in to try their Wisconsin Ave. store in Glover Park this past weekend. The store had a number of customers but was not busy. There seemed to be at least one employee for each customer so I thought my order would be fulfilled quickly. I was wrong. After wait 15 minutes for a bacon egg and cheese bagel I went up to the counter to ask. As I approached I observed another customer return a bacon egg and cheese bagel they had not ordered. Then upon presenting my receipt I watched as they took the returned bagel back, re-wrapped it and gave it to me. Appalled I walked to the nearest trash can to discard the second hand bagel and left the store never to return. read more

I've been here multiple times saying I won't come back but I'll give them another chance, But it really never changes. When you are trying to place your order they walk away from you to what ever they were in the middle of I find it rude also don't ask for to much or they give you a stare as if your holding them back from what they really need to do . Customer service here sucks starting with what it seems to be store manager pick and chose a who's he nice to. They need to work on they're customer service skills don't take it out on customers because you're overflowed with delivery orders or hire more people to focus just on that. read more

I will not be returning to this location. I love Einstein bros bagels but the service by the manager was terrible( Mr. William Weston) and the food was even worst. My coworkers and I decided we wanted breakfast this morning. I should've taken the extra 10 minute drive to go to the Connecticut ave location instead of coming to this one. I informed the manager who was going to be taking me orders that I had a few. As I began to place the orders he reminded me on multiple occasions that I should have called in the order because my big order was an inconvenience to the people ordering behind me since i had more than one sandwich to be made. It's not like I ordered 50 sandwiches. I simply ordered 9. I could not believe that he said that. At the end of the day he was making money by a paying customer. Although I am currently working in the medical field I have previous experience working in the kitchen and working an expo line. It's really not that hard to scan your tickets and make sandwiches. It took them 30 minutes to make my order only for me to get to work and my orders were incorrect and my bagels were burnt. To wrap up the service was crap, the timing was crap and the food overall was crap! They need to get retrained by the Connecticut ave team! Highly disappointed. read more

I wish I could give this place even 1 star but from the moment we walked in, the experience went from bad to worse. We waited more than 25 minutes for what should have taken 10 minutes to prepare. And when we were finally called to pick our order, it was wrong. When we called it out, the server was not only rude, but said, "did I call you? Well that's what you ordered!" Never, ever again. Incredible service, great space, delicious bagels--it really does not get better in Glover for a quick and easy lunch/breakfast option. Einstein is always good, but what truly makes this place outstanding is the service. They are simply one of the nicest teams I have ever encountered, and the manager is friendly and sweet to everyone who comes in. As other users have stated, the service is best described by the word "nightmare". I was in there today and there was a small line. The service for the people in front of me was the pinnacle in human achievement in slowness. They brought in a second cashier who fumbled around, the cash tray actually shot out of the register, and the cashier struggled to get this strange, foreign cash register to work. Eventually after 5-10 minutes they finally got to me. But in their minds, they'd already finished cranking through the line, like I wasn't there, so I awkwardly stood there as they chatted. I felt very persona non gratia, unwelcome person. I was about to leave to make a point, as I stood in front of the cashiers being ignored, until finally one asked my order. All I wanted was a cup of coffee, and the 999 people in front of me wanted the most elaborate, ornately described dishes known to man. The cashier who took my order rocketed off, and I stood there for another two minutes until the other cashier realized that I actually hadn't paid for the cup. This is really a nice place to have breakfast or a quick lunch when you're in a hurry, or when you need a quiet coffee place to work. The dining room is large and bright. The staff is very friendly, the rolls delicious, and you get free coffee refills. I'm not usually a big fan of chains, but I make an exception for this place. read more
