Despite the mixed Yelp reviews, our food was delicious! In addition to the food in the photo, my hubby had a fresh and delicious side salad and warm homemade dinner rolls. None of the food tasted frozen to us. The service by Carlos was excellent! Although the restaurant was empty, we felt like we had it all to ourselves. I don't think that Yelp is updated so don't rely on the reservation service or the hours of operation. They close at 7p.

What an unexpected, pleasant surprise! I live right around the corner from here and every time I pass it, I'm curious because of the name.. Mexican/Italian, could it really be good?! Well, you bet your damn ass it can be! I ordered the frutti de mare (seafood pasta) and my man got the special, filet and lobster and everything was delicious! It's not your traditional Italian food, since they have their own twist, and it doesn't have to be! That's what makes them so good and unique! Food was super flavorful, service was great and the music playlist they had going that night was on point... I was groovin' while I ate! It is a little pricey for the area, but you get what you pay for, so I'm not complaining. We'll definitely be back to try other items on the menu!

My family and I dined at this lovely, quaint restaurant! The service was excellent and they made us feel like family. We were a party of 6 so we tried many items. Starters & Salads: salads were fresh and well seasoned; the calamari was perfectly fried and they also provided freshly made rolls with a tomato-basil dipping sauce (5/5). Entrees: Shrimp, Shrimp pesto, Chicken Alfredo, Salmon, and Lasagna (4/5 - only because I wish I had more mashed potatoes & they were luke-warm instead of hot; but overall all dishes were flavorful & well seasoned). Dessert: Tiramisu (5/5 great coffee flavor), Bread Pudding (5/5 yogurt ice cream was a nice touch), Cheesecake (2/5 flavors were there, but the texture was wrong). Overall, we will definitely dine again! Please show them some support because it's so hard to find good food that is made with love!

The parentals and Grandma like this place, so it was a pick my grandma had for her 86th birthday. Staff was super inviting when we walked in and attentive while we dined. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the menu items. (Pics included) We enjoyed the ribeye, pastas and garlic bread. Side salads and drinks. You will not be disappointed going here.

I was a bit iffy about the whole Mexican Italian, there's so many Mexican restaurants, I was looking for an Italian restaurant and they didn't fail me. I ordered to go a lasagna, it came with an individual loaf of bread. The lasagna tasted like it had wine and the bread was similar to a croissant , everything was full of flavor! Just a quick tip if you order to go, you might have to ask for napkins and a utensils, it wasn't include it. Prices are just like an average Italian Restaurant, the ambiance is nice and quite, the place is clean and the customer service was good.

UPDATE 7/2024: this restaurant is no longer in business. Replaced by YET ANOTHER Mexican restaurant. Don't get me wrong - I love Mexican food, but this city is already saturated with them. Im super bummed. If anyone knows where the chef went, please update us - the food at El Cameron was amazing!

The reviews are spot on. Such a hidden gem in Antioch. The fish ceviche was soooo good. Well seasoned, fresh, and balanced citrus. The El Camaron Burger was amazing. The beef patty tasted homemade at a gourmet level with avocado and shrimp. The Fried fish and Prawns were nicely battered and the seafood tasted fresh. The Gamberi garlic sauce with prawns were fresh and seasoned. The ambiance was soothing and clean. Customer service was kind and friendly.

I ate here for the first time last night. The host was very welcoming. I really enjoyed the music playing in the background, the playlist consisted of The Animals and The Eagles. I was excited to see what was on the menu since the name of the restaurant included two of my favorite foods. Looking at the menu The Gobernador Tacos as an appetizer stood out to me. The first bite was absolutely delicious. I also ordered a michelada which I could tell the mix was made fresh. You could literally taste every ingredient. I took the host's recommendation and ordered the risotto. The host made us feel as if we were having dinner at a friends house in regards to hospitality. The risotto was super good. I wanted to eat the whole thing but I was getting full no matter how difficult it was to stop I had to save the rest for the next day (which like all Italian food is even better) I look forward to going back again and trying other dishes on the menu.

Birthday girl with her cheesecake on the house! It was so good and the presentation on point!

So I went to this restaurant because I've been hearing such good reviews from friends about this place. I loved the taste of everything we ordered. Went in on a Thursday afternoon and the place was empty but we were greeted with a smiling face and a very attentive waitress. We started with appetizers and ordered garlic bread and ceviche. Garlic bread was good and not over loaded with garlic taste, Ceviche was the best tasting I have had. I like the taste of lime and I was pleased. These are what we ordered and I can say everyone was very pleased with their dishes: Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo Gamberi which I changed up Shrimp in a lemon caper sauce served with garlic mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. Two thumbs up to the chef. The flavors were incredible. I do recommend!

Pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem off of Contra Loma blvd. We were in the mood for some Italian food after binging White Lotus Season 2, and this place popped up on Yelp with some stellar reviews. Location used to be a Soul Food takeout, they've really transformed the place around to a nice little Italian hole-in-the-wall. We were a bit skeptical at first due to "Mexican/Italian" offerings, but boy were we wrong. Food here is legit Italian food, as good if not better than any of the Italian restaurants we've been to. Apparently their chef/owner worked directly with renowned chef Hubert Keller (Fleur de Lys) in San Francisco. And it shows, there is a certain finesse in their food! Before we get to the food, just want to give kudos to their front of the house Roberto! He is warm, friendly, knowledgeable and most of all, takes pride in their establishment. That makes a huge difference IMO! Now on to the food: Bread - not your typical sourdough or garlic bread. Their bread has a texture/crunch of a cookie. Buttery and a little sweet. Pairs well with a balsamic/olive oil dip. Fresh Oysters - FRESH! Served on ice. Amazing mignonette. What more could you ask for? Oysters Rockefeller - Again fresh! Perfectly baked. I would put this up against any other oysters rockefeller I've had. Clams Linguine - Perfectly al dente pasta. Flavor is delicate as the dish really highlights the fresh clams, just like how a good Clams Linguine should be! Oh and they dont skimp on the clams! (See pic) Frutti Di Mare - My wife, who is not a big pasta fan pretty much inhaled it. Nuff said. Fresh seafood (notice a trend here?), al dente pasta, scratch made marinara (you can taste the difference). Perfectly seasoned, absolutely delicious! So thrilled to have an excellent Italian restaurant in our neck of the woods! Their food here is just as good if not better than Smith's Landing or Monica's, but obviously at a much better value! Hope you keep it up, you've earned a regular here!

Thank God for another meal, because this place definitely did not serve one made with care…read more The experience started off confusing before we even got the food. We pulled up around 12:50, and the sign on the door said closed, while the lighted sign said open. Mixed signals right away. We literally had to call just to find out if anyone was even there. I ordered a super burrito wet, half green and half red sauce. I was told what it came with, but when I got the food, key ingredients were missing. No real sour cream, no proper pico de gallo, and barely anything that made it feel like an actual super burrito. I also ordered another super burrito and asked for ranchero meat, because that is clearly something they sell there. If you sell ranchero tacos, then obviously ranchero meat exists in your kitchen and should be an option in a burrito too. Instead, the burrito came in a box looking like they already knew it wasn't put together right. When I got home and opened it, I was honestly disappointed. The photos speak for themselves. This was not a super burrito. It was a sloppy tortilla overloaded with rice and meat, with almost nothing else inside to balance it out. No beans, barely any vegetables, no real pico, and no care in the way it was made. It looked like somebody just stuffed whatever was easiest in there and called it done. And before anyone tries to say I didn't ask for certain things, you can literally see tiny pieces of tomato in there, which shows some kind of veggie mix was supposed to be part of it. But overall, it was still mostly just rice and meat. That is not what people expect when they order a super burrito. The wet burrito was just as bad presentation-wise. It should have been smothered properly, with that melty, flavorful, put-together look. Instead, it looked rushed, sloppy, and halfway done. Even the cheese on top looked like it was thrown on without any effort. This whole meal felt like it was made with no pride. Confusing service, missing ingredients, weak execution, and burritos that looked more like a struggle meal than something worth paying for. Grateful to have food, always. But I would not come back for this. Here's a shorter, sharper Yelp version too: Pulled up around 12:50 and the sign said closed, but the open light was on. We had to call just to see if anyone was there. That should've been the first warning. Ordered a wet super burrito, half green and half red, and another super burrito with ranchero meat. What I got was a sloppy mess. The photos speak for themselves. These were not super burritos -- they were mostly rice and meat stuffed into a tortilla with missing ingredients and no care. No real pico de gallo, no beans, barely any balance, and the wet burrito looked rushed and poorly finished. The cheese on top looked thrown on, not melted and smothered the way it should be. One burrito even came in a box looking like it had already fallen apart. If you sell ranchero tacos, then ranchero should clearly be available as burrito meat too. No excuse there. The places was alone for it to be lunch hour . Not a lot of people Overall, this food looked and tasted like it was made with no pride. Grateful for the meal, but definitely not worth the money.

I love this place, but this visit absolutely sealed the deal all over again…read more We ordered the carne asada super burrito and it was perfection. It was packed with flavorful, juicy meat and had the ideal ratio of beans, rice, and cheese -- every bite was balanced and satisfying. No skimpy filling here. Just a beautifully built burrito done right. The chips and guacamole were just as impressive. The chips came out hot, thin, and perfectly fresh -- that light crisp that shatters just right. The guacamole tasted bright and fresh, clearly made with care and real ingredients. We also tried the pastor torta, and wow. It was loaded with tender, well-seasoned meat, and the bread was soft, fresh, and toasted perfectly. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside -- exactly how a torta should be. Every component worked together so well. And the piña agua fresca? Super fresh and refreshing -- the perfect complement to everything we ordered. We come here often, but this time we switched it up and tried the burrito -- and it did not disappoint. This is easily one of the best taquerias in town. Consistently delicious, generous portions, and clearly made with pride. We'll definitely be back (soon!) to try the quesabirria. So grateful to have a spot like this in town.

This is an update to my previous review. I really wanted to continue supporting this establishment…read morebecause it's conveniently located and the food is good, but unfortunately the last few visits have been disappointing. I usually call my order in ahead of time, but yesterday a gentleman answered, put me on hold, and never came back to the phone. I ended up driving there and ordering three super carne asada burritos with no pico. The order was simple, and I paid $52. When I got home, all three burritos turned out to be regular burritos with only rice, beans, and meat. They were missing the ingredients that make them "super." I immediately called the restaurant, and the girl at the front--who already knows me because we're regular customers and we've had previous issues with incorrect orders and her attitude--answered the phone. Instead of apologizing or trying to resolve the issue, she became defensive. She told me to bring the burritos back, but it was already late and I wasn't going to drive back out. She then said she was going to check the security cameras to see whether the cooks had added the ingredients, which made me feel like she was accusing me of lying. The problem wasn't just the incorrect order--it was how I was treated. Good customer service means listening to customers and handling mistakes professionally, not becoming hostile when someone calls about an order they paid for but didn't receive correctly. I hope the owner has an opportunity to see this review, as I'd like this feedback to help improve the customer experience. I truly wanted to continue supporting this business, but after multiple incorrect orders and the way this situation was handled, I won't be returning. My picture is below for reference.

The plate was extremely hot, the pork was very tough and seemed undercooked for a dish that should be tender, and nearly half of the meat was fat. ***** PLEASE READ BEFORE EATING HERE *****…read more I normally do not leave Yelp reviews unless an experience is truly bad, but after today I felt people should know before spending their money here. I chose Guadalajara because I had previously tried their food truck at an event and really enjoyed the food. For Mother's Day, my 17-year-old son wanted to do something nice for me and took me there with my other kid and my mother. Unfortunately, the experience was awful from the moment we walked in. The restaurant was completely dead with barely any customers, and the woman working the front register looked irritated that we were even there. She was unfriendly, rude, rushed us while ordering, and made us feel like we were bothering her the entire time. While ordering, we noticed there were no cooks in the kitchen. After we placed our order, she told us they were "running behind" because there were no cooks available. She also got part of our order wrong, specifically the type of meat we requested. When we politely questioned it after seeing the receipt, she immediately became defensive and insisted we ordered it that way, which we absolutely did not. She eventually said she would fix it before the food came out. The problems continued after that. The bathroom had no toilet paper, there were no napkins or utensils available anywhere in the restaurant, and every time we had to ask her for something she acted irritated and inconvenienced. When my food finally arrived, it was extremely spicy. When I asked why, she claimed I had personally requested it extra spicy, which never happened. At that point it became obvious she had rushed through our order and was not listening to anything we were actually asking for. The atmosphere felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming the entire time. My mother even went to get napkins from the car because she did not want to "bother" the cashier again due to how rude she was acting. I felt terrible because my son had good intentions bringing me here for Mother's Day, and he honestly felt bad afterward for recommending the restaurant. I appreciated his thoughtfulness, but sadly this experience completely ruined what should have been a nice family meal. I will never return here, and I would never recommend this place to anyone. Whether this woman is the owner, a family member, or an employee, management needs to understand that this level of customer service drives people away. Word of mouth matters, and customer service can absolutely ruin a restaurant no matter how good the food may once have been. One star.
