Hubby & I tried El Gran Inka Peruvian Cuisine at Dolphin Mall last night to make time for our movie to begin. There was a band playing closeby, so due to the noise level, we chose to sit inside. We had already eaten a light dinner, so we just ordered a glass of wine and an appetizer each. Hubby ordered the lobster/shrimp ceviche and I the stuffed tostones. Both orders contained good portions. My tostones were topped with a slice of avocados, lemon-seasoned red onions and shrimp. His ceviche contained cubed-cut sweet potatoes. Butttt it wasn't anything I expected. We ordered lomo saltado, puplo al olivo, ceviche gran inka, pulpo a la parrilla, and arroz con mariscos. Almost everything was superrrrrr salty, especially the lomo saltado and pulpo a la parrilla! I can basically feel my blood pressure rise with the lomo saltado, that's how salty it was. I ordered a ceviche clásico on the menu., which says 15.95 for the mixto and I was charged 17 dollars. That was kinda a bummer. Also, they don't do rocoto sauce, so is this even peruvian? lol what kinda peruvian spot doesn't offer rocoto? The decor is pretty, but the service sucks. My entree arrived exactly 15 min earlier than my boyfriends and we told the waitress we wanted both entrees at the same time. Wow!! If you're like me and love Peruvian food, this is a place you'll love too! Very pretty restaurant inside with options to sit outside as well. The FOOD: the food was ABSOLUTELY delicious! My husband and I shared the Fish Ceviche de Cilantro and it came with fried Calamari on top. The calamari MELTED in our mouths and the Ceviche was incredibly fresh and the cilantro sauce it came in had the perfect amount of lime. For entre we shared the Lomo Gran Inka. It's a really cool twist to the original Lomo Salteado because it comes with Tacu Tacu which is their signature dish and I definitely recommend instead of getting the white rice if you want to try something different. It also comes with a fried egg and sweet plantains and I give it a 10/10!! It was delicious and we loved how different it was from everything else we've tried!! Decor is really clean and upper end classy even though casual attire is permitted. So it was girls night and we decided to eat at the Dolphin Mall. There are so many restaurants, but we narrowed it down to Peruvian, since I love Peruvian cuisine. As we passed by each restaurant, they provided us with menus to try to lure us in. Well, it worked because I just needed to try their Chaufa (which is fried rice). I usually get my rice filled with seafood. The rice was good, not the best peruvian rice I've had, but definitely quality. I also had the tostones and they were nicely salted and crispy. Yum! The calamari was served with fried yuca (with cut up red onions with a perfect amount of acidity) and a white garlic based sauce that was delicious. My friend ordered the Lomo saltado and loved her meal. Our waiter was extremely enthusiastic, which was a breath of fresh air being that I am one for customer service. He was also very knowledgeable of the menu and understood that I was pescatarian and knew to offer suggestions as to what I would love. He made us laugh but was professional! Just what we needed on a girls night out! The atmosphere was great, on a Friday night, with the music from the live band (Havana nights)at the actual mall was perfect! We laughed a lot and were probably loud so it drowned us out lol. But, not too loud that were couldn't hear each other. The restaurant is a more upscale Peruvian restaurant. A lot more pricier than a hole in the wall local authentic Peruvian Restaurant, but we enjoyed our food. The total of all we ordered between all of us totaled about $89 with tip included. I've always loved this restaurant chain, and I almost cried when they closed on Brickell, so I would always visit their location in Biscayne. The location at Dolphin Mall I must say is more beautiful than any of their other locations, and the food and the service is to par! You would never believe that this was the old location of mojitos. They have completely revamped it and it is truly gorgeous. But do we really visit a restaurant just because it's beautiful? No, we don't! We keep going back to a place because the food is amazing and the service is exceptional. Sitting at the bar is the BEST! it's a great vibe and because of the proximity to the exit, you get to enjoy the live music that is playing outside and Yasmani is the absolute best bartender you could ask for. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and an all-around great conversationalist. If you go there on your own or with a friend, you will never be bored sitting at the bar. He really works hard to work towards the image of what a bar should exemplify. I'm really hoping this location succeeds, I'm a local and I go there every chance I get. Great place! Watch out Dolphin Mall----there is a new restaurant that could take over! I honestly avoid Dolphin Mall as much as possible but stopped in yesterday with my boyfriend to try their happy hour menu which is from 4-7pm and offers discounted drinks/food items. The drinks are generally around $5 which is a steal considering that the Pisco Sour I tasted there may have very well been the best I have yet to try. The other cocktail I really enjoyed was the Chilcano $5 which was a more refreshing take on a Pisco Sour with the inclusion of ginger beer. The happy hour bites are only $6.95 each and offer a solid array of peruvian dishes. We ended up trying all of them; my favorites being: the lomo saltado, the causa, the cerdo asado, and the ceviches! Honestly, all of them were delicious so you can't go wrong ordering! I will definitely be back to try their lunch special which is $12 and includes an appetizer + full entree. I don't even know where to begin! This is my second time here and both times I was granted the opportunity to have Joe serve & make my drinks. He extremely knowledgeable about PISCO! We also ordered the Causa which was absolutely phenomenal! Joe informed us about why the dish was called "La Causa", so when Peru & Chile were at war the Peruvian women wanted to help in any way they could. They gathered and took to the streets and sold their food. That food was called "La Causa" because they would send the money they made to the soldiers. They would send they money to "The Cause"! I went here for Christmas 2018 and I wasn't really impressed to be honest! The server was quite slow, she didn't really get our drinks or food items altogether she would jot down one of the drinks and leave right away until we waved her down for another. Warning: most of the food comes with a pound of onions! My brother ordered the tostones as an appetizer and the menu doesn't really clarify what's on it. He ordered a sushi roll as well that came with onions on top. The tostone was actually good I had it myself, lots of flavors and I love onions. I absolutely hated the sushi roll, it was one of the worst ones I've ever tried, it had a very odd flavor. I also didn't like the ceviche. The fish was fresh and the juices it was in was also good but you can tell the fish was just recently thrown on there. It wasn't marinated properly due to the fishy flavor. I gave away a star here. Mainly because I am trying to be understanding of the COVID pandemics influence over the industry. But I was highly impressed and disappointed simultaneously. To start off, we were promptly seated outside and from what we were able to see the decor is modern hipster chic. Our server Patricia was attentive and seeming to work as well as she could given the circumstances. By that I mean it seemed understaffed in the server department. They have a virtual menu option which is convenient during the pandemic. We ordered two drinks the passion mule and spicy maracuya. The passion mule was sweet as juice but refreshing according to my fiancé. Much sweeter than a normal Moscow mule. But very good overall. The spicy maracuya had a nice balance that didn't overwhelm the usual tequila kick you get but instead blended it in the overall experience. We were going to go for a full lunch experience but it didn't go as planned. Which is why we reach the part of why the experience would be under normal circumstances two stars. But a three star due to the pandemic. We initially started off with a huancaina potatoes appetizer and au grina roll. Which we waited a total of 40 minutes for. We wouldn't have been bothered if we hadn't noticed every table around us that came in after received their food 20 minutes before our APPETIZERS reached our table. The server went on to ask us for our order entree, which we decided not to do since not even the appetizers had arrived yet. Literally in the minute span where we were ready to cancel the overall order, the food came out. Now a very important point is that there wasn't a full house when we were seated. If Patricia was the only server i could understand the delay. Although I didn't appreciate being the only ones drinking on an empty stomach while everyone around us enjoyed their meals before we even got to our appetizers. Now to the actual food, the huancaina potatoes were a little too salty. Unfortunately I'd say El Chalan on 40th street has them beat for an authentic huancaina experience. But the home run was the Aun Grina Roll, it was the most savory roll I've had in my life. I could honestly say it almost tasted like a creamy Alfredo pasta experience, but it was a sushi roll! The cream cheese added a wonderful kick to our palate to let us know the creaminess of the white wine and flambé sauce wasn't the only thing the experience had to offer. The shrimp absorbed the sauce very nicely and would be an explosion of flavor in every bite. Needless to say I was honestly blown away. Five star dish hands down. Overall the experience was bittersweet but it did get us curious enough to come back eventually to have the actual entrees under different circumstances. The service definitely didn't live up to the epic experience of the dishes but as I said. The extra star is simply give because under COVID circumstances we can understand that the experience is highly different than usual. read more

Don't let the "5-Star" Reviews fool you. Those people are simply ignorant and enamored by the fine dining aesthetic of this place. We ordered a few plates: 1. Lomo Saltado 2. Pollo A La Brasa 3. Arroz Con Mariscos 4. Chairs de 3 Sabores Of the above, only the Chaufa had a good taste. The others had flavors outmatched by vastly cheaper competitors. The chicken (Pollo a La Brasa) was hard, dry and the fries felt like they had been left for an hour due to their lack of crisp and freshness. In addition they charged $3 for a small portion of Tartar Sauce without mentioning it. The lomo Saltado was below average, with the fries sharing the same lacking properties as the chicken plate. Lastly the arroz con Mariscos smelled good, but failed to deliver in the taste department. These are one of the plates that can really give prestige to a Peruvian plate, but the flavor was lacking. Save your money, and eat somewhere else. Don't let the decor fool you into thinking the good will be as good, it's not as leaves for a disappointing night outs read more

My husband, myself, & my 20-month-old visited for lunch around noon after finding it on Google. We ordered the kids chicken fingers (excellent and perfectly salted), two Pisco Sours (SO perfect), and classic ceviche (I've had this all over the world and this is up there with the best.
