Fresh churro $3 with 3 dipping sauces (3 for $5)
    Vi T.

Was delighted to find this stall inside Northgate Market (Mercado) that sells churros with sweet dipping sauces. Churros are made in fresh batches throughout the day. $3 for a churro and $2 per dipping sauce or 3 for $5. I tried the chocolate and passionfruit. Churro was warm, light, airy, crispy - with a nice coating of sugar and cinnamon. It was a nice quick snack after picking up some groceries inside Northgate.

Cute churro shop in Northgate! It alwaysssss has a line so we decided to try it. They have seasonal flavors and snacks which look so good. During Christmas, they had gingerbread churros with egg nog ice cream! We came today for the mango ice cream sandwich but ended up doing chocolate. The sandwich itself was super doughey and undercooked. It was dripping oil and was so hot that it made the ice cream melt fast. This try was a fail, but maybe we'll come back and try their regular churros and have better luck. The churro ice cream sandwiches are just too messy and chewy :(

Best Churros! Warm and freshly made! Service is excellent too! There's a nice area to sit and enjoy inside and a large outdoor patio. They offer many different hot chocolates. I think.I have tried them all! Never a bad pick! Their dipping chocolates and sauces also.pair well with the churros! It's always a special.day when I make a Mercado run and made more special by the Churros at El Moro!

Eh this place is just ok. I stopped in with my family to try a churro with their triple dipping sauces. We had a churro with white chocolate sugar and dipped it into caramel, chocolate, and condensed milk. These churro is nothing special and took way too long to make. I waited about 15 mins for this. They're not frying enough churros in the oil and the employees seem either new or really slow. There was a crowd waiting and some even had their orders messed up. Churros are too thin and plain tasting. The sauces are also super sweet which was an overkill. I won't be back.

My absolute favorite dessert place in Southern California. This is because churros are my favorite dessert and few places do them right. This reminds me of the churros I had in Spain-- light, crispy, dipped in chocolate. (I need to get churros in Mexico!) Service is pretty quick. I got a trio of dipping sauces to try: Cajeta (not for me), chocolate (a classic), and guava (also not for me with churros). Next time I will skip the sauces and just enjoy the churros alone. The churros are amazing. I live in LA and can see myself driving down to OC once a month for these churros. Light, crispy, and not dense at all. These will be the best churros you ever eat. I can't wait for El Moro to open their LA location!

El Moro is famous for hot chocolate and churros. Rich cacao from Mexico is thicker and less sugary than typical American hot chocolate. Perfect for dipping churros. El Moro is also one of the best places in Orange County for authentic Mexican-style churros. Fresh churros made right in front of you. Churros are fried fresh and coated with cinnamon sugar. They Many sauces to choose from: Mexican hot chocolate, Condensed milk, Cajeta and Nutella. Many people order hot chocolate + churros and dip the churro in the chocolate -- that's the traditional way in Mexico. If you ever visit Mexico City or Costa Mesa, trying El Moro churros is a delicious experience you will not forget.

Omgeee so cinnamony. So crunchy. So soft inside. And the guava and cajeta dips....drool...

Located inside the Northgate Mercado on the left. Its modern and minimalistic design drew our attention, reminiscent of Disneyland even to their open kitchen concept where you can see through the glass panes what they're doing. We had to try a churro. We got their seasonal flavor which is a gingerbread flavor for $3.50. IT WAS SO GOOD. Light and fluffy churro, not hefty, not dense, not rich. I see why you can pair it with a dip. We're not sure how to describe the exact notes and flavor of the gingerbread because it isn't what we expected when we heard "gingerbread" but the flavor was gooood. Would 10/10 get again. Also sampled a bit of their Mexicano hot chocolate available at the registers and that was delicious too. Smooth hot chocolate with a bit of cinnamon that brings the warmth into your body.

Pretty great churro. Very crispy and fresh and came out super fast. Got the condensed milk dip

Came by today to check out what the hype was about. So good. Got 1 original churro $3 and 1 seasonal churro with orange blossom at $3.50. Both were perfectly baked. I also bought a cajeta dipping sauce at $2. Don't really need it as it just adds more sweetness to the already sweet churros. Either way you eat them; the churros are great. Best when they come right out of the oven!

It's a great spot for a sweet treat after you get tacos or something else inside the market. They're super freshly made and scorching hot so maybe wait a bit lol. Lots of flavors and options and decent value. The churros are made to order, piping hot and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They're a bunch of seasonal flavors and dipping sauces. It can be a few bucks if you just want a single churro or a little bit more if you want a bunch of mini churros which isn't too bad. I think mine was a tiny bit overcooked but it didn't ruin it. Located inside of the northgate market, you'll have plenty of things to do before or after the long wait lol. On weekends though, you might have to wait a lot longer. Food: 7/10 Service: 6/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Value: 8/10

Sometimes you gotta try something drastically different. Since venturing down to OC to get Asian food is so typical, why not try something outside the Asian box for dessert. Churro is a nice alternative to boba or 85 degree bakery (but love those too). El Moro Churreria is located within the northgate market in Costa Mesa. There's a line but that speaks to the quality. It's fun just to watch the churro mass preparation. Churro should be consumed on site to enjoy the freshness--hot, crunchy and soft. We tried the chocolate hazelnut dip which was heavenly. Oh and while you enjoy it, take a stroll through the northgate market. Bustling and exciting on a weekend. Interesting food booths and live music.

    Hot off the fryer!

Just typing this makes me crave for another. 4 churros and hazelnut chocolate sauce ~$12. It's made to order, I waited a little over five minutes. I ordered this during opening and with a slight reheat during dinner time that same day, it was equally delicious and crispy.

I stopped by because I was already in the area and wanted to check out a newer spot. They're approaching their one-year anniversary, so they're still fairly new. When I visited, there was a decent line, and the café was quite busy. There isn't dedicated parking, so you'll likely need to find street parking in the surrounding neighborhood and walk over. There is plenty of outdoor seating available, along with a smaller indoor seating area. I ordered the Guava Range from the seasonal menu, which is described as a guava matcha latte topped with mascarpone cream, guava purée, and ceremonial-grade matcha. I was especially excited to try it because guava matcha isn't something you come across often. Unfortunately, my drink didn't quite match the description. If there was guava purée included, I couldn't see or taste it. The only guava element I noticed was a light dusting on top of the cream. The mascarpone cream also overpowered the matcha, making it difficult to taste. Overall, the drink came across more like very lightly flavored milk than a guava matcha latte. For a drink that cost around $9-10, I was hoping for more balance and a stronger presence of the advertised flavors. That said, they're still a relatively new business, and growing pains are understandable. I didn't have time to stay and try any food, but everything coming out of the kitchen smelled great. Since it was busy, I also don't feel I can fairly comment on the service based on this visit alone. I'd be willing to come back and give them another try in the future, as I can see the potential and hope some of the smaller details get refined over time.

At the Costa Mesa location, parking was a little tricky at first, but after circling we got lucky with a corner spot. The location itself is SO cute! It's right next to colorful barrel fountains, and on a sunny day it honestly felt like the perfect coffee outing. The line was pretty long and you are standing in direct sun, so just keep that in mind, but the service was quick and efficient once you order. Inside, it's small but really charming, with Sunny Angels hidden around and a very open, friendly vibe. My sister (who is basically a professional coffee drinker at this point ) got the matcha and said it was her favorite, which says a lot. I got the iced Spanish latte with oat milk, and it was SO good. Spanish lattes are my go-to, and this one had the perfect hint of cinnamon without being overly sweet. Even as the ice melted, it still tasted great, which is rare. The Torrance location was just as good! Parking was easier, the space is bigger, and the service was still super friendly and fast. My husband got the cold brew "Nook way" and finished it in like 10 minutes. He said it tasted like Golden Grahams cereal. Highly recommend both locations and especially the Spanish latte. I am notorious for chugging my iced coffee but this was absolutely delicious. A sweet, subtle honey sweetness taste and the creamy oat milk was divine. My manager's Spanish Latte was so much better & I will be getting that next time! We bought our other coworker the Strawberry Matcha, which we did not try & we were worried after the fact because it did not look like it had strawberries in it, but she confirmed it was very tasty and tasted the strawberry!
