Burritos well wrapped and stuffed! Lots of flavor. Salsa wasn't too spicy or chunky. Perfect little bag of chips to go with our burritos. Small dinning area inside and a few benches outside to eat but we took it back to the tailgate. They have excellent choices for bottled drinks or fountain if you fancy. read more

This is a great little Mexican restaurant. As someone who eats plant-based meals often and has family members who are always vegan, it's nice to have the option of a fully McDougall oil-free vegan menu. If you don't eat that way, this part of the menu may not be the most mind-blowing eating experience (and you may want to stick to the more classic options), but I really appreciate any place that goes out on a limb to offer an actual healthy plant-based option in addition to their normal offerings. It's great for those times I really don't have the energy to cook but still want to eat healthy...or even if I don't want to eat healthy, those options are still available too. This is the 4th street location. Stony point was being renovated so we came to this one! This "hole in the wall" type place would be easy to miss but the sign out front is pretty visible. Came in and was greeted by a young man working the register. He was friendly and patient with me because I Couldn't decide what to order as I only had $25 in my pocket, and was so surprised at how expensive the tacos were , averaging 4.25 EACH! My husband said he wanted a plain burrito with just chicken, rice and beans. That was about $10+!! I got a carne asada hard shell taco plate, $12! It came with chips and salsa thankfully! The chips were from Costco im assuming, and not home made. A huge let down for me, as this is what I look forward to at "mom and pop"Mexican food shops. My hard shell taco was not fried to order, it was in a pre made shell. The salsa was by far the most delicious thing I had, I drowned my tacos in it, and loved the spice! Love this place. We've been coming here for almost 2 decades. Most of the time we order Taco Salad. It's so delicious but once in a while we order one of the specials or a burrito. The small patio on the side is charming with lots of flowers blooming. Today they're painting so no outside seating in the side just out front. It's small, family owned, friendly and consistently good. Small as in3 tables inside. The park is across the street so nice to walk kids and dogs after a simple yet yummy meal. Sometimes, the most effective short-term distraction from stressful times is something yummy to eat. Especially if someone will bring it to you. For us, those stressful times are now. And the other day, our response was to order burritos and guacamole from a place we hadn't tried yet: El Patio. For our My lovely wife chose carne asada. I ordered an al pastor-chorizo combination. Both burritos were hefty, hearty, and tasty, and seemed prepared with care and high-quality ingredients. Flavors were well-balanced, although a bit more seasoning wouldn't have hurt. The guacamole was a bit thinner in consistency than others we've had and made. The accompanying chips tasted like they were freshly prepared and not out of a bag. And thanks to DoorDash, the food arrived quickly and still warm. If burritos can help improve your shelter-in-place time, order some from El Patio. Then, relax and enjoy. read more

My boss ordered El Patio for us for Super Bowl weekend. I ordered the super quesadilla with carne asada. The carne asada was good, but I've never had a quesadilla come with shredded lettuce in it. The lettuce made it kind of soggy, so I'd leave that out next time. Also, they didn't cut it, so I ended up just turning it into a burrito and eating it like that. The chips and salsa were decent though. With the amount of Mexican restaurants downtown, this one probably wouldn't be a go to for me. read more

Been eating here since we had off campus passes to volunteer at the old folks home, in middle school, so about 25 years. I moved years ago but I still make it a point to visit when I'm back in Sonoma county. I generally either get the chicken super burrito or a chimichanga. Whatever you do, do yourself a favor and order a side of mole (enchilada sauce) to douse your burrito or chimi. Chips are of the Costco variety and salsa is good and homemade. NOPE. I just wasted my money. I ordered super nachos with chicken. I was thoroughly expecting a fat bed of chips with some beans and chunks of delicious chicken and some guacamole and sour cream on there. What I got was a thin sad layer of chips, shredded, tasteless and wet chicken, with what I can only assume is guacamole and sour cream only liquefied, and a massive pile of pico de gallo. It is a sloppy tasteless pile of grossness at this point. I am so disgusted and disappointed I could literally cry. This is just a sad excuse for super nachos. I will never order here again. Had been wanting come here for awhile...had the occasion where a friend bought/brought me lunch. Ordered shredded beef taco and chicken enchilada. Wasn't offered or asked if I wanted chips when I placed my order but when I sat down I noticed all the other tables had chips. When waitress brought my food I asked if they were extra and she said no and then asked if I wanted some. I was pleased to find ground beef being offered, it's rare these days, but unfortunately the meat didn't have much flavor. I am going through and reading reviews trying to figure out why the yelpers love this place so much? Is it possible that I might be too much of a taco snob? I eat tons of Mexican food and try to keep my mind and pallette open. Today marks the 4th time I've eaten here. I was going to rate it a 3 star but decided to drop it to a 2 due to the chips being bought from Costco. El Patio # 2 located on 4th st has a very small dining area. When I say "small", there are only 3 tables located inside. There is more seating outside. But sitting outside is not preffered like on a cold rainy day like today. The adorable little case full of crystals gives the interior a nice added touch. I was very disappointed to see the chips they serve were out of the 5lb bag from Costco for $4.99. The review was dropped a star for that. I know this because I took notice to the bags stacked next to the window behind the register. There are salsa cups at the register. 2 salsas per customer. They serve green (mild) or red (hot). The red isn't all that hot. But then again, I like it HOT like a burning Inferno in my mouth. * The mole sauce they serve was more of a light red enchilada sauce, not mole. *As far as the pastor tacos go, I did enjoy the fresh cilantro. read more

Ordered a carnitas super burrito to go. I asked for chips and he said it was extra. Huh? They use chips from a 5lb bag bought from Costco. I'm not paying extra for cheap chips. Real casual. Plastic plates and cutlery. Paper cups. Cuisine is typical northern Mex standards. Soft tacos, enchiladas, burritos, taco salad. Rice n' beans. Drink Coke, Pepsi, Tamarindo or Horchata - No alcohol. Meats are good quality, cooked right. Starches are all well made as well. Nothing spectacular yet everything is good. Unfortunately, despite having gotten take-out here countless times since the pandemic began, I have no photos to share because I always dive right in like a ravenous hyena! My go to is the vegetarian taco salad adding extra pico. So so good! Today I went rogue and outside of my comfort zone and got the taquitos. I was super pleased! Crispy and delicious topped with lettuce, pico, guac and sour cream. Chicken was tender and moist. I've had a burrito here also - just a basic bean, rice and cheese - and it did the job, but I've had more flavorful refried beans at other spots. Their green salsa has an odd texture but a great flavor. Their red salsa is ok, but rather than being seasoned with cilantro like I prefer I believe it may have oregano or another herb instead. Cilantro is just my preference. I'm not part of the "cilantro tastes like soap" club. All in all...I'll continue to order from here unless something major changes. read more

Highly recommend this taqueria! Attentive and kind staff, fresh salsa and good food. They have 2 locations, this one has very limited seating but food is still delicious if you bring it home. I love this restaurant! Even though it's a little hole in the wall the service is always wonderful they they are quick and helpful. For Mexican food it's definitely on the lighter of side.....their dishes are not dripping with grease they do offer steamed vegetables and some more healthful recipes for people who are conscious about their eating. They offer low-carb, McDougall, and vegetarian options they also have Spanish style brown rice. Their little green and red salsas are very nice touch and I love their pico de gallo also. I was so excited to see a veggie McDougal menu here! i've only seen it at one other taqueria before so i was relieved that i had MORE than enough dishes to choose from. my veggie burrito was delicious, and the servings were HUGE! however i've had much better rice and the chips were store bought. my friends loved their enchilada and taquito dishes. the service was very friendly and i really enjoyed eating here. wish they served cervesas though! read more

Came in here with high expectations, left very disappointed. The look of the place is great, gives you that good ol hole in the wall place that has great food. Unfortunately, not the case with the food. Fist things first the chips are straight from Costco! Huge turn off, I eat Mexican food on a regular basis. This place and another in Sebastopol are guilty of this. I ordered a couple tacos one crispy and one soft, one was el Pastor and the other chorizo. The el Pastor was bland, and the chorizo was tasty.
