    Pozole with all the trimmings

If you're looking to support local businesses during covid please stop by this mom and pop restaurant. I ordered the pozole and it was fantastic chunks of meat and all the trimmings. I will be coming again.

I'm super bored with Montebello. Really! I've lost interest a long time ago. To spice things up, I'll be embarking on a mission to try as many of the tiny hole in the wall Mexican dives as I possibly can. Hopefully I don't get tired of it too fast! So, El Patio has been here for several years now. I have a few coworkers who've eaten here and said it was pretty decent, but my coworkers don't have an evolved palate as I! The first thing you'll notice is that El Patio does not get busy. That's the sad reality. I wonder what people are thinking when they want to open a restaurant in Montebello. "Gee, there certainly is not enough Mexican restaurants in this city. I know, let's open one!" or perhaps, "All these Mexican restaurants suck, we can make better food, so let's open up a restaurant!" But I digress... I've been on a Chile Verde craze. If a place can make really good chile verde, they've got me hooked. This burrito was $6.57 after tax and included a side of chips. A bit pricey but what's the big deal about spending $6.57 for scientific research such as this? El Patio's chips were crispy and sort of like the ones you get when you buy a bag at Los Cinco Puntos. They do have a tiny salsa bar and I thought their salsa was not that fiery! Chile Verde: 3/5 Nothing special here. Decent sized chunks. Meat not too tender. Green sauce was somewhat flavorful. Burrito was a little larger than others, but to be expected when paying this much. So, what's the verdict? It would be a stretch to say I'll be coming back. If the chile verde was any indication of the rest of El Patio's food, chances are I won't be coming back. There's just way too many choices in this city to settle upon average Mexican cuisine, especially at the prices El Patio is charging.

This place is awesome! I honestly don't know why there are negative reviews here. If you want real Mexican food then you definitely need to come and try it yourself. The place is very small and located in a small shopping strip. It's a place to come for a casual meal with family or friends. I had the Enchiladas de Camaron with a tangy tomatillo sauce. They were delicious! They came with rice, beans, and a small salad. My brother had the Filete de pescado al mojo de ajo and that delicious too. The service was great. The young lady that was taking care of us was very attentive and made sure we had enough chips, salsa, and drink. I will surely be returning.

Came here 10-5-15 cause I was craving some Caldo De Res due to the rain. Yelped it of course. Went in ordered nice customer service. Got in and out in 15 minutes. Came with rice, chips and lemon on the side. $8.99 each not bad. Taste overall was great. Red salsa hit the spot. Seen a lot of older ladies inside for karaoke. I'll be back on a rainy day.

Ordered a plate of 3 tacos side avocados, tomatoes, and thus is how they brought to me, after waiting for 25 minutes. .

Nor slot or people but a decent crowd. The customer service was as great. Jorge was working the bar. He's real cool. Made me some good drinks. Allowed me to sample the cucumber margarita before making me one. It was actually refreshing and better than the sex on the beach. The quesabirria tacos were delicious. Never had them that small lol but they were really good. I would definitely get those again. There was a mistake with some charges on my tab but the manager or supervisor on duty came over and notified me before I even notice and she immediately corrected the error. This is definitely a great spot for good drinks and good quesabirria tacos. I like the ambiance and love the service.

Visited on 06/01/2026 at approximately 8:30 PM…read more I rarely leave negative reviews because I work in the restaurant industry and understand that everyone can have an off day. However, I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this location. The service we received from Oscar was poor from start to finish. It genuinely felt like he either did not want to be at work that day or simply did not want to serve a table of two. What made it more frustrating is that a larger party came in later and he seemed more happy to help the and took his time. The restaurant was not busy. When we arrived, Oscar only had one table, and throughout our visit it appeared he had no more than three to five tables total. Despite that, my mother and I felt ignored for most of the evening. What made this especially disappointing was that I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. Instead of feeling welcomed, we left feeling overlooked and unimportant. The one bright spot of the night was Nisa, the hostess. She was friendly, helpful, and stepped in toward the end to assist us. Her professionalism was appreciated and was the only positive part of our visit. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this location. It felt like the focus was on serving larger parties while smaller tables received little attention.

The idea was to enjoy my coffee while getting organized--paying bills, planning calendar events, and having the opportunity to focus without any distractions from my usual surroundings. In search of the perfect spot, I turned to Yelp, a reliable resource for uncovering hidden gems nearby. Upon stepping into the coffee shop, I was immediately greeted with warm hospitality, setting the tone for a delightful experience. The ambiance of the place was truly captivating--it was bright and welcoming, infused with an aesthetic charm that instantly put me at ease. I couldn't help but be intrigued by the design elements throughout the shop, which added an inviting touch to its overall atmosphere. Before I settled in, I asked the staff if I could snap a few photos to capture the essence of this delightful space. They graciously welcomed my request, and I was shown to my table, which, quite uniquely, was designated by a number--a small detail that I found charming. As I browsed the menu, I encountered a small conundrum: I wasn't entirely sure what to order. I wanted to break the mold and try something out of the ordinary. My curiosity was piqued by their exclusive offering of Café de la Olla--a traditional hot drink that piqued my interest right away. I ultimately settled on a hearty plate that included rice, beans, and enticing potato tostones, accompanied by two beautifully cooked sunny-side-up eggs. As I waited for my order, I noticed the café was filled with the sweet sounds of old-school music from the '60s and '70s, which only enhanced the cozy ambiance while I sipped my drink. Now, let's talk about the food! I must say, I rated the café itself a solid 4 out of 5 for its overall charm, while the rice earned a respectable 4 out of 5. The beans were rich in flavor and received a fair 3.9 out of 5. The potato tostones, delicately bathed in a savory red sauce, stood out with an impressive score of 4.3 out of 5--these are a must-try if you visit! And as for the sunny-side-up eggs, they were good, but hey, eggs are eggs, right? Overall, the entire experience was quite enjoyable, from the delightful food to the warm atmosphere. A special shout-out goes to Ana, whose exceptional customer service made my visit even more memorable. The combination of fantastic service, inviting aesthetics, and satisfying food truly made for a perfect morning retreat. I can't recommend this spot enough for anyone looking for a relaxing place to unwind and focus on what matters.

It was a cold day and we were hungry so we got the large Cocido De Res and the Costello De Puerco with a Pina agua Fresca. Cocido De Res - Very good, like my grandma used to make. A huge portion of beef in the bowl, good sides to add in so you can control the spice level. The Mexican rice was very flavorful and the tortillas were fresh. I don't care for corn tortillas but I liked them a lot here! Costello De Puerco - Great, delicious salsa verde. The chips went well with the beans but it was overall a great dish with a nice big portion. Pina Agua Fresca - They give you a huge cup, they even put the leftover in a to go cup and it lasted all day! It was delicious and fresh. Overall it was a solid 4/5, would come back if we're in the area and in the mood for Mexican food.

My family and I are in Montebello every weekend & crave tacos. But most street taco stands don't open till 3pm. We were drawn in by their instagram posts & how they open at 11am. They have $1 tacos EVERY DAY (carne asada is the only meat that is $2, but that's still a great deal). Sometimes when I go to other taco spots their meat is chewy/fatty. But this spot did not have the chewy meat. It was well done! We did the 8 tacos + 1 drink for $10. We ordered all meats except chorizo and can say they were all delicious - chicken was my personal favorite. Can't wait to come back

The second time, I got tacos (which are a great price), but again the wait was around 25 minutes. They also forgot my agua fresca, and I had to follow up twice just to get a refund. I gave it another shot and ordered rice again, but this time it wasn't fully cooked, which was disappointing. Honestly, I keep going back because it's affordable and super close to home, but the customer service and food quality just aren't consistent. Hoping they can improve because the potential is definitely there.

I have been craving green salsa chicken enchiladas for a while, and almost every place where I have gotten them has been a disappointment. Finally, I found a place that comes thru, and the name is La Enchilada! This was a wonderful plate of green salsa chicken enchiladas for about $11, and I so happy with the flavor and the temperature of the food. The only knock on this place is that they don't give you a number to take to your table. So when they said, "green salsa chicken enchiladas" I said, "that's me" because that's what I ordered and I had the receipt to prove it. In actuality, I took someone else's order, completely by accident. Luckily, I didn't take 1 bite off my plate and the original customer trusted me and ate it. The cashier then brought me the plate that I had ordered, about 5 mins later. However, I feel like this entire situation was avoidable if they handed out a number to bring to your table. 4 stars!
