We ordered two two piece meals and the food was really awful. The chicken was so scrawny, hardly any meat at all and so dried out, it was more like eating chicken jerky. The sides were cold and tasteless. No butter. Only condiments offered were salt and pepper. I really don't know how this location can stay in business with the quality of food they are serving. The lady then asked me, "Do you want to up the cents to make it an even $11.00?" I responded, "No, thanks." Once at the window, the lady told me. "$11.00" I told her that I was not upping the cents. She then didn't know what to do and went to go look for a manager. She returned and then told me, "$10.98." I thought this was weird. This location really needs to get it together. I've been coming to this location for sometime now since it's the closest. The people in drive through seems to be in a bad mood every time. I usually always order the double chicken tostada salad and every single time there is something wrong from missing my sides I order or missing ingredients on the salad. Bad customer service really bad I ordered a chicken tortilla soup and the soup was cold

I opted to use drive thru and order a 10 piece mixed chicken, Service was fast and friendly. I arrived home with the chicken ready to serve my family dinner and every single piece of chicken was over cooked and burned. Please explain to me why this was ever boxed and served to a paying customer. I returned to the store and went inside and waited 5 minutes, no one ever came to the counter or offer to assist me. The manager finally came with an order for a waiting customer and ha dad everything and walked away. Never acknowledge me or said I will be with you in a second. So I said excuse me and before I could finished she bluntly replied I will be with you in a minute. Five minutes later some kid that arrived for work clocked in and assisted me. He ask what was wrong with the chicken so I opened up the box and said this should of never been served to anyone. June 2020 The location food is not consistent with other locations. I always order the Pollo Bowl or a Chipotle Burrito. Although the speed of the service in drive thru felt normal the issue that arise was the person who took our order didn't acknowledge we asked for sauces and so we had to use what we had at home. I haven't been in this place in many years, I stop going there because the place used to look dirty, and for the bad service they used to give and that day it reminded me why I never went back, and will never go back again. I was standing there for a while about 10-15 min waiting for someone to take my order and I was the only person there at the moment. The employees were all chatting and laughing totally ignoring my presence. I couldn't believe my eyes!!! Finally i asked if someone was going to help me or if I had to go to a different location to order food; obviously they didn't like my comment; and all I wanted was 2 chicken breast to go. A guy finally took my order, he did not look happy to do it. He gave me my order and said, next time you need to let us know you are ready to order... I'm sorry , I'm in the service industry and as far as I know, you welcome any guests walking in to the business, and let them know , that you are ready for them wen the client is ready to be served. I have lived in Brea for 29 years, and have never had a great experience at this restaurant. Today, I was shocked that the ice machine was still not working since I went last week when it was also not working. Or maybe it was broken just again, but there was no sign stating that there was no ice, and no attempt at a workaround plan by bringing in bags of ice behind the counter. You need ice! Then, as usual, I was greeted by sullen workers, dirty tables, and stale chips. Invariably, whenever my food is ready there is something missing that makes me go back to the counter. A missing food item, missing salsa that was requested, a missing spoon, etc. I wish there was another El Pollo that was close enough to visit on my lunch hour, as I would certainly go there. I am so frustrated with this location and their horrible management that today I reported them to corporate and recommended that their franchise be revoked. I don't even know if this is possible, but it would be doing the city of Brea a favor. I am sick to death of this blight in my city. There is a reason why two-thirds of Yelp reviewers give this location just 1 star. Again, this is only a review for this store. I eat at the El Pollo Loco on Imperial in Brea. I have eaten lunch there numerous times. Since Covid, the cleanliness of where you sit to eat is not the same. Now, I find you have to clean the table before you sit down and many paper receipts on the floor. Before COVID there were people working 2 there responsible for cleaning the table and the floor.
