Closest El Pollo Loco from where we live. So far service and quality of food has gone from bad to worse so i finally decided to take time to write a review. It happened several times now that we ordered extra cilantro dressing (which we had to pay for when it used to be free) we get home and open the package and cilantro dressing is missing. We have to drive back for it only to be given a hard time claiming PAID cilantro dressing like we're trying to cheat them off of a cilantro dressing. Also tostada salad is notably smaller, lesser, and they put the veggies into the tostada bowl very wet making bowl soggy and yucky. I went here for the 2 for $5 deal on Taco Tuesdays with my mom. We ordered 4 chicken crunchy tacos, 3 chicken avocado tacos & one Baja shrimp taco. 8 tacos in total. There's only one worker packaging the food and calling out the orders. An older lady needed help with the self-checkout to apply the senior discount and waited 5 minutes. The line got longer because only ONE person was doing everything. Less than 10 minutes our order was ready. Arriving at home, our order was wrong. Opened the bag and there were 7 crunchy tacos and 1 shrimp taco. Our chicken avocado tacos weren't even in the bag and replaced with crunchy tacos instead which we only ordered 4. So ridiculous. So, I placed an order through the drive-through and got home to find that they had completely missed one of my orders, and they even forgot the extra cilantro sauce that I had specifically requested and paid for. I called the manager to sort this out, but he was incredibly rude and accused me of lying. His name was George, and he even went so far as to say that all Armenians come here to get free food. It was a truly disappointing and offensive experience. I'll try to contact the store owner and hope he can address and train his employees to be more respectful and friendly to customers. This place is freaking irritating me they don't really care. They just put whatever they want into the burrito or into your bowl throw it in a bag take your money and you have to be disappointed when you get home. This El Pollo Loco has to be one of the worst locations. You can make a very simple order with them like maybe a lemonade and they'll give you a Coke because listening is not their strong suit. I ordered a grande chicken, avocado bowl, and they just put whatever in a bowl and gave it to me. No sour cream no cabbage no red peppers. What's the point of listening ingredients that go into your food if you don't put them in there I tried to get some crispy tacos and they said they're done making them for the night even though they were still open so I'm guessing somebody had emptied the fryer trying to close down early or they were just too lazy to make them either way they wouldn't take my money because they didn't want to make the tacos. I asked how long it would take to make the tacos and they said we're not making them for the rest of the night. I have to drive a little bit further to get to the next El Pollo Loco, but it's worth it also my chicken bowl was extremely dry. I had a very disgusting and frustrating experience at this store location 235 S. Glendale Ave, Glendale CA. Apparently the server forgot to put salad dressing on my salad so I asked them to put dressing but the server I barely put any dressing on it so I grew more frustrated and told them about there was barely any dressing added, however, the cashier Jenna, gave me attitude and refused to add a dressing saying they can't add anymore dressing with sarcastic demeanor which was disgusting and unacceptable behavior towards a customer. I then asked to refund and had me wait for 20 minutes for the manager to do so. I grew even more frustrated and when the manager Grace, arrived, she refunded the money but also gave me attitude first. I told her that Jenna needs customer service training as she does not know how to deescalate a problem and does not know how to treat the customer right . Instead, her rude attitude escalated the problem even more. The manager Grace was also sarcastic with an attitude but when I warned her to stop the behavior, she became speechless. Not even a single word of apology was heard from them at all. This was my worst experience at Polo loco. I love pollo loco and been going for 25 years now but this experience was a trigger to think twice on going back. It is very upsetting and frustrating experience and I cannot forgive them for this. The management needs to do a customer service training for both JENNNA and the manager, GRACE. They deserve zero star. read more

I go here because of convenience and not because this place is awesome. I suspect that others do the same based on the poor reviews. This location usually forgets something in most of the orders. I try to remember to check my bag, but I sometimes forget. The food is fine. The portions are smaller than other locations and they are quite stingy with the salsa (containers half full). Even if you order 3 tostadas, they will still give you 2 cilantro dressings and one person will have nothing. What can I say... I have to be better about checking my orders. read more

I already left 1 star on Google and now let's do yelp. First it took forever to get my food. I ordered a classic chicken burrito and chips and guac. When I get my food it's only the burrito and chips. I tell the guy I need guac and he says ohh you dont get guac....so I show him my receipt and let him know I paid for guac. he then disappears into the back to get containers and I finally get my guac I ask him if the burrito he handed me was indeed a classic chicken burrito and he says yes. 'I've never been inside. Used the drive thru several times. Customer service is lacking sometimes. You can tell that the person isn't very happy working there. I get it, but sometimes you got to put on that poker face. I only go to El Pollo Loco if I have a coupon. I often get these in the mail, and the savings are pretty good. I was a bit put off by the bad reviews this place got, but the fact that it's one block from my house won out. There were two women at the register when I walked in. They quickly looked at me and stepped aside telling the cashier to take my order as they weren't ready. I, having just walked in, was also not ready. When I told the cashier this he turned his head to the side as his eyes rolled back in his head and he sighed. Clearly this was not what he wanted to hear, but I didn't want to hear him sigh so we were even. He did redeem himself somewhat at the end by asking if I needed anything else as he handed me my order. When I told him I did he was helpful in getting it right away; for this reason I bumped up to I ordered the street taco that comes with avocado , 2 churros and the Street Corn Bowl. I requested white meat for my bowl and said I knew it was extra. The cashier looked confused and asked his co-worker how to ring it up. He also did not know and once a third person, a young woman who should be management if she isn't already, came over that I got rung up. I happily paid $3 extra to get white meat of dark meat. What I got was white meat dark meat. I really do not like dark meat At All. The bites of bowl I got without meat were very good. The was sweet and crisp, the cilantro fresh, and the beans and rice were balanced nicely. I added the avocado salsa I was given and it was pretty yummy provided I didn't get any dark meat (did I mention how much I don't like dark meat?). It was a tad pricey at $15 but I know the large drink contributed to that. All in all it was not a horrible experience by any stretch. The place was clean, great drink selection and the taco was delicious and I think both entree items were worth going back for provided they were prepared as requested. The churros... not so much. The chicken was burnt and dried out. I am guessing overcooked? We ordered the $40+ 16 piece family meal. The sides were fine, but the chicken was pretty gross. Wouldn't mind some sort of refund... to be fair, the sides were okay, though the main thing is the chicken, and it was bad. Nowadays, value is everything, and if you are going to charge over $40, the quality had better be there. I do not see myself buying food here again anytime soon. I just can't subject my wallet to this beating and my family to honestly, crappy food.
