Every Sunday after church for the past few years, my family gets food from the drive thru. We usually get the 8 piece chicken meal with flour tortillas, guac sauce, and salsa. No complaints about this location. I love it for the nostalgic and family tradition. The drive thru lane is narrow though and be careful of the yellow pole. It's kind of scary cause you can easily scrape the side of your car going into the drive thru lane if you're not careful. read more

I ordered two tacos and made sure to order the non spicy ones - shrimp and chicken with corn. They came in foil wrappers with no stickers on them but they were so spicy. I can handle spice. I just didn't feel like it tonight. This was on fire and not in a good way. I ordered a 8 piece chicken meal (mixed) over the phone. Person i was talking to refused to tell me the price until i showed up (which i don't really care but why not just tell me how much it costs?). The food tasted OK. On the drive to the restaurant, I got a call that we have more people coming over, so when i got to the restaurant I changed the order to a 12 piece chicken meal mixed. Just to make things clear, the meals come in two different ways; leg and thigh or mixed (leg, thigh, wing, and breast. The mixed meal cost more obviously. When i got home i saw that there were 5 legs, 4 thighs, 1 wing, and 1 breast. That adds up to 11 pieces first of all, but the reason i was really disappointing is because i expect more wings and breast if I'm ordering the mixed meal. Maybe they should clarify how many wings and breasts you are receiving because 1 wing and breast is the bare minimum you could put in there to call it a "mixed" meal. read more

During this pandemic you would expect the staff to be more diligent about wearing their masks properly since they interact with the public. However, during this particular visit to their drive thru today the guy that was taking my payment and handing me my food had his mask on yet it was pulled down exposing his nose and mouth. His mask was down throughout our whole interaction. That is not the proper way to wear a mask. I felt uncomfortable, especially since the drive thru window is situated above my car window, allowing any droplets that may be released from him talking to fall downwards into my car. I love Pollo Loco! Their food is somewhat healthier than other fast food restaurants, and the food tastes phenomenal. However, ever since moving to Glendale a few years back, I've been a client of this particular location. Let me start by stating that I've been to many locations, and I actually had another Pollo Loco restaurant close to where I use to live. Yet, the Pollo Loco here is by far one of the worse restaurants I've been when it comes to their service. Like other customers have stated. Many of the staff are not friendly, and they consistently mess up the drive thru orders. I've learn to double triple check my orders whenever I order from here. I love the taste of the food from Pollo Loco, which is why I constantly come here. But if the subpar service does not improve, I will happily drive a few miles down to the next location. Btw, It wouldn't hurt if you provided us with enough salsa when ordering drive thru. And when I ask for a couple more containers of salsa, don't look at me like I am asking you for your soul. I understand how you need to downsize inventory to make more profit. But a happy customer will bring you in more business than what you will lose on giving us a bit more salsa. I've frequented this locations a few times and have had an overall good experience. Like any fast food joint thought, what you get depends on when you get it. I went to the location El Pollo Loco on Colorado and Glendale on 08/30/19 for the first time and it was a total disaster. I ordered a family size meal of 16 pieces which came with 3 sides I specifically ordered corn, rice and pinto beans. On the side I ordered another large side of mashed potatoes. When I received my order the lady read the receipt to me and just pointed at my order. I as a very naive person just trusted what this El pollo Loco employee handed me in the bag. For my surprise after a 40 minute drive getting ready to have my meal with my family I discovered I got charcoal chicken and my large side of pinto beans was missing. I called the restaurant to let them know about the inedible chicken which was burnt and the missing large side of pinto beans the man whom answered the phone said to me he couldn't do anything about my order and the missing items. In the case if I wanted to I can drive back another 40 minutes to pick up the pinto beans but they couldn't do anything else. I demanded to speak to the manager and he denied me the right to speak to his superior and instead laughed at me. After going back and forth with the discussion I offered to leave my phone number so the manager can call me back because the person on the phone kept telling me the manager was busy.
