Alright EPL in PR, I have a love/hate relationship with you. I love because you provide an endless salsa bar and tasty chicken. I hate because I feel like a fool for paying one of the highest sales taxes in the nation. Almost 11%, really? Talk about crazy you can taste. I visit because you are always tasty and insanely convenient when I am way too hungry to drive to the East Whittier location. I justify my patronage by making my money back on your salsa bar. Kudos! This Pollo Loco is by far one of my favorites! I have been to different locations and sad to say they are not the same!! The guacamole salsa is so good at this location that others make it watery. By far the best El Pollo Loco restaurant there ever existed. Well at least nearby. I have about 2 other restaurants close to my home and I always keep coming back to this location. Very clean, organized, friendly staff. I love this place. Manager always seems to be around, talking to the consumers, asking how's the food, how's their day going. He gives my son stickers every time... without hesitation, I continue to come back. The food is delicious. Never had an order done incorrectly, with hunger, you hope that never gets to happen. There's two El Pollo Loco's in Pico Rivera and this one is by far the best. First Raudel the manager is super friendly as well as the rest of the staff. They always have smiles on their faces and are ready to work. I would go in there almost everyday and get a chicken breast and a bag of chips so much so that they already knew my order. Often time Raudel or another employee would see me come in and start getting my order ready. So I would have my meal ready before I even ordered much less paid. Raudel is also a member of the Chamber of Commerce and caters many events so it feels good supporting someone that is doing their part to help serve the community. Best Pollo Loco around! read more

I'm giving them 5 stars in comparison to other Pollo Loco restaurants that I have been to in the last 20 years in the SoCal area. I've been coming to this Pico Pollo Loco, on and off, for 15 years. Their food and service is consistently good. The managers appear to always be on top of everything going on in the store. While I will admit that I normally use the drive-through, the service has always been good, and even more important they probably get a 99% accurate rate on the drive-through orders - at least with me. Some of the other area Pollo Loco's could learn form this store. Keep up the good work...... read more

I've never had a problem at this location, my order is always correct, they are pretty quick, the parking is not that great though. Anyhow, the last time I was here they asked if I wanted to upsize my drink for 0.20 cents more, I said yes. I get to the window they give me the standard size drink that comes w/the meal but they didn't charge me the 0.20 cents, so I probably don't need the extra calories of a larger soda so no big deal. Then I pick up the drink and it feels pretty light, hmmm, I decide to take off the lid, the soda was not even close to the top. Don't come here expecting good customer service!!! Worst experience ever!! Ordered food at 6:44pm go to bathroom to wash my hands and turns out bathroom handle doesn't work (no sign on door). I was locked in the bathroom for 10 minutes. Employee had to break the door to get me out. On top of that my food still wasn't ready ( ordered chicken nachos, pozole and tamale) When we asked for the manager I was initially ignored, I had to ask another employee to speak to the manager. Manger comes, not wearing a badge, and did not introduce herself. When I told her the situation, no apology and had no interest in trying to rectify the situation. Pozole was sitting on the counter uncovered the entire time! (My mom was waiting for the food). When we asked for our food and why it's taking so long, we were told it's because we ordered Mac and cheese.. No, No, No, No; we DID NOT order Mac and cheese. Stated there was people who ordered after us who got their food and have already left. Manger says the other people (who ordered after us) got their food because they had ordered small pollo bowls. Completely unacceptable!!! One excuse after another, no apology, and no interest what so ever in trying to make the situation right. I wish I could give zero stars! Oh and not to mention I tried to order a chicken Cesar bowl and was told they don't have them.. I went to a location in Whittier 2 days ago and had no issues. We went through the drive thru and the server was extremely thorough with repeating our order and even asking if we wanted extra salsa. She wished us a happy new year despite the fact that she had to work, and our order was correct. This is not a normal with fast god restaurants in the area. I was very surprised at how great the customer service is at a fast food restaurant. My boyfriend and I came in at opening time and we were the first customers there. I believe it was the manager who took our order but I don't recall his name. He was very friendly and polite taking our orders. I usually get there two piece combo and my wife gets salads. On this occasion I got a two piece meal breast & leg with beans and a loco salad. Chicken juicy and cooked to perfection. I love the flavor in pollo locos chicken. Beans are always hot and the cilantro dressing with the guacamole salsa on the salad. My wife had the classic salad with chicken with light creamy cilantro. She loves it! The staff is very friendly and always with a smile. At times they walk up to your table and take your tray for you.
