I was craving grilled chicken so el pollo loco was the way to go. This location is always clean with fast service. There is no drive thru and the parking lot in the back is small. You can order ahead on the app or you can use the kiosk machine located in the front. The staff can be a little more friendly. Not sure of the guys name at the counter, but he wasn't too friendly. The fact that I'm leaving a review says a lot about the pollo loco! I ordered only for $36 dollars in food including a drink and chips. I only received the food and no drink or anything. I asked the manager for lemon or lime and he said they don't have that! I've been to many pollo locos that have it and make sure to provide it! This El Pollo Loco is very busy, which is good for them, although this location is very busy, the staff is great and keeps it moving and service is quick and friendly. The location is in the heart of Sherman Oaks, and although on Sepulveda, kind of a weird spot. But easy to get to either way. Their parking lot is shared and very tight though, street parking is also tough in the area, so be patient. Really my only critic. Inside is your typical El Pollo loco, from the decor to seating and overall set up. They no longer have a salsa bar (same for all locations) but will give you as much salsa you like, pico de gallo, avocado green salsa or their spicier option. I like all 3 and can't choose a favorite. As I have said in many of my last reviews on other locations, I recommend using the app to speed up the process of getting your order. Order ahead and pick up to dine in or take it to go. Their digital deals they have on the app are pretty good. Still been getting the 3 tacos, chips and salsa and a drink for $5.99, pretty decent deal for a solid lunch. Enjoy! read more

I order here all the time. A week ago I ordered delivery via their app. I didn't get half my order so I complained (3 times) and nothing was done. I paid $29 and got $11 in food and they didn't even have the decency to return an email or phone call. Any other service that delivers will immediately refund you if you don't get what you paid for but this company has no meaningful way to get a refund. Shame on you for stealing my money. read more

if you want to get the runs, this is your go to place. The food is almost always either undercooked or overcooked. The chicken is either extremely greasy or very very dry. The sides are equally bad - with the rice either being clumped together or the beans being stewy/soupy and watery. Not to mention, the workers here are extremely rude, disorganized and for some reason highly stressed out which is odd because because this place is always dead inside. This place has become my new staple place to order. They are located close to my house and their service has been stellar so far. I've ordered delivery a couple times already and their delivery is always earlier than anticipated. The food is solid, especially when you get the family pack. We usually get the 20 piece family pack with large mashed potatoes, large cole slaw (my mom's favorite), 4 corn tortillas, & 4 flour tortillas. We also usually get the chips & salsa with avocado. Their chicken bowls are really delicious as well. How can you order without their 6 pack tacos with avocado? Got to have them all. Best part is the delivery option. It is one thing to make sure you get the right order... now you have to check that they do not try to sneak and hide in old/dried chicken in your meal or throw a bunch of legs/drumsticks your mix order and think OK to call it "mix" and charge you the mix order price. I want to commend the female (manager?) of this particular location. During rush hour, the entire staff hustles to make sure the customers are tended to. Today 2 workers came in to order maskless, (despite the signs and the fact everyone else was wearing a mask!) and this (?)manager calmly and respectfully asked them to put on masks. One of these gentlemen lifted his shirt over his mouth and the other ignored her. She remained calm despite the negligence and the breaking of our county's mask mandate.
