Horrible customer service and the food was cold when handed to me. I ordered 2 chicken avocado burritos and 1 pollo bowl and after waiting in a long line. As they handed me my food I noticed only 1 burrito in the bag and 1 bowl. I politely said to the lady behind the counter, "I think she didn't charge me for the 2nd burrito, can I add it?" She said, "Sorry sir you'll have to get back in line and order it." Keep in mind the place just opened and the line was a mile long. This has to be the absolute worst display of customer service I have ever encountered! I will never ever spend 1 hard earned cent in this establishment when there are plenty of other places to eat in Tracy! I will make sure to tell neighbors, schools, youth football teams, cheer groups and friends that live in the Bay Area when traveling through to pass this horrible place up. Tried the drive-thru today. I was the only car in line and waited about 20 minutes. My avocado tacos were cold and the soft corn tortillas were mangled and soggy. There was virtually no avocado in my tacos. Needless to say...they did not look anything like the picture. read more

Have been to this location several times. When this location first opened was very slow service but, I accepted it as it was new. Have used the drive thru mostly since opening. I have gone inside a few times several months after there opening and the service is still slow. My visit tonight has to be the worse. I decided to try a new item so, I ordered the chipotle chicken avocado burrito, my issue with the burrito was, there was no avocado in the burrito. I went back to the counter to tell the cashier there was no avocado in the burrito, his reply was "they are out of avocado" I asked him why he did not say that when I ordered the burrito and he stated he did which is not true. I would not have ordered that specific burrito if he had stated they were out of avocado. After telling him he did not tell me they were out of avocado, he had a long pause and then said sorry. No offer of a discount for next visit nor did he tell the MGR on shift. The time to get my food was 10-15 minutes and there was maybe 3-4 other guests in the whole restaurant. I will not be giving this location anymore of my business and will go back to Rubio's across the street. Much better service and no lame excuses. Suggestion to the management staff: keep enough staff on hand to properly serve your customers and train your staff to tell customers if they are out of ingredients to let the customer know before ordering. p.s. I've had El Pollo Loco many times before growing up in San Jose. I went to this location last night to pick something up to eat. I ordered the 2 piece combo and my chicken was a bit on the dry side. Their mac and cheese was horrible! Although their corn is really good.. probably the best part of the meal. Most likely won't be coming back here again. I'm in sales and bring lunch in to my clients all the time. El Pollo is my favorite lunch to bring in. For lunches in Tracy I'd have to bring the food from Manteca or Stockton. So I was excited to see the location in Tracy opened. I called today to order lunch and was told they don't take phone orders. Seriouely? I have to say, bit disappointed with this location today. I got a medium drink when they are out of medium lids, they couldn't find the Jalapeño hot sauce. This is restaurant 101; if you are out of lids for medium cup, proactively offer customers the large cup before they ask for it. Stock up the condiment station before opening the door for lunch. Would love to give a review but can't eat here. I've tried three times, twice through drive thru and once inside! Full disclosure - All three times were non peak hours. All three times I had to walk away because the wait was ridiculous. The Construction / design of the drive thru is terrible, because you enter into the exit of another popular restaurant (Texas Roadhouse) If you're thinking about checking this place out, my suggestion is wait until the new buzz dies down, You are looking at 30-45 mins minimum for drive thru, who wants to eat cold food? Inside was worse, just because you're new doesn't mean that the customers have to be 100% understanding. I get that your new, I get that you're in Tracy where there are very few new restaurant options, I get that this is probably an exciting new restaurant to the town...but because you're understaffed you're turning away a lot of new business. AMAZING store! They are insanely friendly and ready to tend to any need. The food is so wonderful and fresh. I personally love their corn and churros a lot! I also really like the chicken avocado quesadilla. You won't regret ordering that. The service at this store, whether he drive through or inside is perfect and FAST! My only suggestion is that the parking lot set up and layout of where the restaurant was placed is a little bizarre. I see friendly faces I recognize every time I visit. I loved El Pollo Loco once and then we ate at this location twice and I am no longer a fan. The chicken is dry and you can tell it's not fresh. Both times we experienced this issue. The rice was over cooked and salad tasted like chemicals. I hope they improve because they were good once. read more

This place is great for a few reasons- healthy options for a fast food place, the employees are very helpful, sweet and will even check on you and ask how your meal is and if they can get you anything, and the restaurant is super clean. My first time I came in i went through the drive through. Two people took my order which was interesting to say the least. My order was right and i did recieve everything charged for. What i wasnt happy was the food was not PL standards. The rice and tortillas cold and stale. Chicken probably would have tasted better if i didnt get the burnt ends with the char flavor. Someones not wiping off the grill after every batch ! Thats was drive through experince. As for my walk in experince, the place was well lit and big . Dirty tables and floors but they have must have experinced a rush since they had someone on top of it. What i didnt like is that no one smiles! None of your employees smile. Food was still the same. Use to be one of my favorite fast food restaurants until they decided to down size their chickens to the pigeon sized offerings that seem to be taking over the fast food industry. (see KFC). Do real normal size chickens still exist? Apparently so as I had a chicken breast and leg about two weeks ago at our local Buffets that was huge, had more chicken on that one piece then you will get from a dozen chickens at the fast food places. We went through the drive through tonight for dinner...we're asked to park up front to wait for our food and ended up waiting 20 minutes(timed from the time on the receipt)!! Once we got home we opened up our tacos that were supposed to be chicken and found that they were shrimp...my boyfriend is ALLERGIC to shrimp! My quesadilla was so cold it's like they took it out of the fridge, the salsa tastes exactly like tap water and the Mac and cheese were ordered was seriously cheese soup. There were maybe 15 noodles in the whole bowl! I'm not even exaggerating...I cannot even fathom how ridiculous my experience was.
