Restaurant chain that finally made it to Corona. I've been here a few times now over the last couple of years. Somewhat of an overdue review. I usually order the family pack that includes Asada, Carnitas and Chicken. It is a lot of food. It says it can feed 7-8 and I believe that it about accurate. I've wanted to try their torta and other offerings but their chicken is so good! Last night I ordered the 16 piece chicken with sides of rice and refried beans along with a sample size of macaroni salad and potato salad. Wow, I had been missing out on those salads! Yum! Beans and rice always taste good and fresh as well. Great tasting salsa as well! One recommendation I would give is it would be nice if they could pack the tortillas in foil or little bags to keep them warm and from getting stale. By the time you get home, the flour tortillas make it fine but the corn do get stale. This place took over Tamezula's old spot. They did clean it up some. It is nice and open with plenty of seating. Always greater when I walk in to the register. Feels more like a franchise than a chain as they appear to care more so. read more

Food was good, chicken was the best part of our meal, but very bad experience with the restaurant itself involving our child and their high chairs here, please replace them or get rid of them our baby could have gotten seriously injured and the staff didn't seem to care. read more

My son wanted to stop by and try the chicken at El Pollo Norteño before going to the barber. I love grilled mesquite chicken so I was excited to try it out as well. The chicken was ok, it could use more mesquite and salt and I feel the chicken pieces are small. We got a four piece combo with a drink and I don't think it was worth $16. The customer service was great and there's plenty of tables. Not sure if we will be returning, but at least we finally tried it out. read more

First time here. As soon as you walk in you can smell the mesquite! They have bags of it piled up along the wall. It is clean and fresh inside. Don't let the outside fool you. I had their chicken burrito and it was very large and flavorful. They grill all their meat on Mesquite charcoal and you can taste the nice smokiness in the flavor of the chicken. Unfortunately the building was empty besides a few customers coming to pick up orders, but the vibe is great inside. I will definitely come back for just a chicken combo. read more

Well I ate some of it, because it was expensive delivered, but the food is absolutely terrible. Ive never eaten at an El Pollo Notero so I cannot compare, but the food at the Corona location is not fresh. The carnitas tasted old and as if they were not washed before it was cooked. The potato salad was sweet and the potatoes tasted old and rubbery. The charro beans tasted like watered down can chili beans. This was ordered through Uber eats and came out around $30. I've been going to El pollo Norteño for over 15 years to their Anahein locations when I go to the OC it's that good! They grill their chicken and carne asada over mesquite charcoal, so you get that authentic Mexican grilled flavor. I highly recommend their charro and refried beans. They do serve the best al pastor tacos in town! I'm happy that they finally opened a location here in my city of Corona! read more

Found this spot by mistake while traveling home. I only had the pastor tacos. I was hoping for pineapple on them but I guess you have to request it. My only knock was it took about 15 minutes for two tacos. Could have been due to only one cook or a couple orders ahead of me. Came to try this place. The Chicken is very flavorful. Better than Pollo Loco. The Charro beans are delicious. The red salsa has the perfect amount of spice with a good taste. I ordered the two piece chicken combo. The chicken was almost dehydrated. It had to be put on the grill in the morning and we didn't come in till the evening to eat and it was as dry like jerky. What a disappointment. The proportions were very inadequate people that got the same thing I did, got more beans or less beans more chips or less chips, I got less of everything. First things first, the service was good, no complaints, the ambiance was pretty good as well, decor was nice. Now for the food, went in and got the 2 piece lunch combo which came with 2 pieces of chicken( really small pieces tbh) choice of flour or corn tortillas, and choice of 2 sides, and a medium drink for $8.99+ tax. Like previously mentioned the 2 pieces of chicken were really small (maybe they're organic and not pumped with steroids ‍) and lacked flavor (common issue here) outter part of chicken had a mesquite/ char taste but overall tasted very bland. They should look into wet brining their chicken overnight. I choose the rice and charro beans as sides, the rice was ok a little more seasoned then the chicken, and the beans tasted to be of a canned variety. I also ordered a carnitas and asada taco which were $3.50 each... lacked salt too and were also so small for the price (i sound like a broken record). For about the same price you can just head down to tacos y mas and get one of their specialty tacos which are bigger taste way better ( get a taco relleno, or a gringa ). The best thing Here was the red salsa and that was pretty mid, due to it being their hottest salsa but it was more of a slight spice (tapatio is spicier). But yea dont recommend they just need to stop rationing salt at this place... unless you struggle with high blood pressure then definitely check them out. TL;DR Everything is pretty bland. We've been looking forward to this restaurant opening but were sadly disappointed. We ordered the 3 piece chicken plate and 2 soft tacos. The chicken was very dry and had to be the smallest pieces of chicken I've ever had at a restaurant! Accompanying the chicken we ordered green salad and potato salad. The sides portions were ridiculously small and the potato salad was not very good. The tacos were good, but nothing special. There were only 3 tables occupied while we were there, yet our order took quite a while to receive. All in all a very disappointing meal. I doubt we will return. read more

I've been going to Pollo Norteno's in OC for years and it's always been super flavorful and delicious. However, this location is super disappointing. The other locations have intense mesquite grilled flavor. This Corona location does not. Even the carne asada at other locations is a lot better than here. I was wondering if there was a code variance regarding the wood grill here in Corona vs OC? Also this location does not have a salsa bar like the OC locations. That's a must. Aside from their food there is an AWFUL AWFUL sewage smell as soon as you walk in. That MUST be fixed. I do not understand any establishments who have that smell and go without fixing it, especially places that serve food. It's disgusting and should never be approved by the city to open in that condition. read more
