First time here. Went through the drive thru and ordered the Taco Siberia. Plan was to eat in the car between appointments, but after opening it, I realized that since I wasn't wearing a plastic suit, I'd better run home and eat it. This is a knife and fork kind of taco! Went to the new location for El Pollo RICO today. Interior is very clean and nice. Server was courteous. However, this will be my first and last visit. Ordered a whole chicken dinner with the assumption that it would feed three moderate eaters. Beans and rice were single serve containers and the chicken was incredibly small. To add insult to injury, the price had increased $3.00 over the old location. Spent over $19.00. Could have purchased a larger rotisserie chicken at any grocery or Costco for $5.00. So I spent almost $15.00 for small helpings of beans and rice and some tortillas. Incidentally, wouldn't let me get half and half between flour and corn. Well, wish you luck. We used to be frequent visitors to Pollo Rico and were probably a little too addicted to the street style beef tacos. Simple and tasty with cilantro and onions. However, after visiting today it is clear that there must be new management because changes have been made, but not in a good way. We have not gone as much as we used to because the last couple of times we were at the drive thru window for 20-30 minutes!!! The tacos are not even close to what they used to be. Ok, I don't know much about the customer service, so what? The green sauce is "Hot!" so watch out. The food is pretty good and not expensive. Isn't that important? Very handy to pick up on the way home. Those chips are awesome! The best I have ever had. I kept making sounds as I ate them. They must be home made and made minutes before I put them in my mouth. How can they be so good? I want more! I have not tried everything on the menu but I am ready to do that. I think it is worth the effort. Good food at cheap price. read more

Had lunch there today. It was my first visit there. Not fancy at all, but clean and not crowded. Beef tacos were stuffed full with meat - no scrimping there. OMG! Just tried for the first time. What a nice surprise! We did the Drive-thru. Love that they keep the menu simple, and just do a really fine job with what's on it! The chicken tastes like it came off a backyard bbq pit. Perfectly moist. Wasn't as much a fan of the beef (skirt steak?) on the Mex Mix Platter, but hubby liked it. The Charro Beans and Rice are to die for. If you aren't a fan of corn tortillas, you need to know in advance that that is what the combos are served with, unless you specify that you want flour. I was a bit dismayed by this until I tried with the corn, and now I'm not sure I'd change it! The only thing I would suggest to them is to keep the Drive-Thru window clean (lots of smudgy finger prints=yuck) Good, quality food and reasonably priced! You need to give it a try. Went to get a refill on Jamaica and was told I have to pay. even though I just paid for that. asked to speak to a manager. someone came out but didn't speak English. still I made an effort to speak to him in Spanish, but he won't let me have a refill without paying. I actually go here a lot and have probably ordered everything of the menu, and it's all awesome!!! One big thing I should point out is the staff sometimes seems a bit rude but nothing to sour your experience. Well, it's too bad I can never go back, because the food is actually really good. Customer service, not so good, if fact terrible! I had a simple order of a chicken taco, chips and guacamole, had to wait for a bit, because the line was long in the drive thru (good food). Finally got my food, and drove home. Got home to find out they had forgotten my taco. So I drove back. Waiting in line again, I asked for my money back, she gave it to me without the taco. I told her I would still like the taco, and because I had to drive back I wanted my money back as well. She then threw the taco at me. I got home to find out not only was the taco old, it was not chicken and did not have sour cream on it. Needless to say, I have learned my lesson, 1. Check the bag 2. They have an order by number system with pictures of the food next to the numbers. Just say what number you want if you don't speak Spanish. If you're looking for good Mexican chicken, this place blows taco cabana out of the water. You know El Pollo Loco in California? Well it's better than that. Way better. The salsas are really good. My husbands fries were really good too. I don't know why. I don't recommend the tortas. A lot of bread and stingy on the meat. And no avocado in it either. My husband was trying to jack my chicken from me. next time he knows better. The charro beans are different than what I'm used to but I guess everyone has their preferences. The rice was no big deal. I was really happy since I'm doing a low carb diet I got to eat my fill of chicken, pico de gallo, and beans. I picked up the Chicken combo last night because my husband kept raving about how good it was. Maybe 6:30 was a bad time but I was sooo disappointed. The chicken were these itty bitty dried pieces. Tortillas were old & crumbly and the rice & beans were just ok. The green & red salsa were fantastic though! That's what helped me choke down the chicken. This place is amazing for authentic charcoal grilled chicken. I haven't tried anything else on the menu because the chicken is so good I can't imagine not ordering it. I go here for lunch and get the half grilled chicken meal, which comes with a whole grilled onion, tortillas, rice and beans. The salsa bar in the restaurant has pico, a variety of salsas, fresh cucumbers, fresh onion and jalepeno. I use the chicken to make a few tacos and then just eat the rest by hand. This place is not fancy, but it is clean and service is fast. Sometimes the cashiers can be a little annoyed by requests like extra salsas, if you are carrying out (even if you want to pay for them), but the food is so good that I can't deduct any stars. Everything we've tried is amazing. The tacos are great, their whole chicken is bone licking good, rice and beans is delicious enough that I can be happy just eating that by itself. We also love their green chile sauce and normally pay for an extra vat of it to take home with our chicken. Word of advice, have lots of napkins and wet naps handy when you eat this food. The service is horrible. Went tonight to buy a chicken, Sylvia was at the window. I say Good evening and not even a 'hi'. I say 'thank you' she did not even say 'your welcome'. No manners at all. I told her I thought she was being rude and she did not even look at me in my eyes. I could not believe the attitude. Another time my husband went there and they charged his credit card twice. Also they gave me an old dry piece of chocolate cake instead of tres leches. Last three times I went there was a complete disaster. With so many places around this place is at the bottom of my list. I moved here from Cali and have been unsatisfied by EL Polo Rico....1st you can't get the salsa from the bar unless you eat there or pay .60 per SMALL CUP...Im from CALI and their prices are not reasonable for what you get...3rd the day I was there I waited for help for like 3-5mins and when they finally came, I ordered their lunch special, when I was told I was a minute late and would have to pay full price!!! Really don't care about the price but the principle. food is OK but service and vale is the WORSE...I like to eat healthy and chose them over Micky D's but I have had many bad experiences there..maybe just not for me..BUT THIS HAS BEEN MY 1ST COMMENT EVER ON ANY BUSINESS!!!
