The most friendliest cafe by far. The coffee is here is consistent, delicious and no frills. Busy on the weekends but the service and coffee remain superb! The Australian beans really have a punch. Oh and the marco pollo sandwich, give me 20 of them. Sooo dang good! If you're looking for a chicken panini with a delicious sauce, don't forget to get one. Perfectly spicy and tasty. read more

If you haven't ordered the Marco Pollo, you are missing out on a delicacy. We order this sandwich every time we visit LDU! It's actually been the reason why I've been on the verge of buying a panini machine and why I haven't tried any other sandwich... Service is always 10/10. Everyone is so sweet and no matter what time you go the environment is laid back. You have people studying and others there with their children! It's so inviting! The coffee shop is small and quiet. Not a lot on the menu so better if you like simpler coffees or like a chai tea. There are no outlets so not best place to study if you need that. Service was a little slow for only being 2 drinks and a sandwich when it wasn't busy. People who came after us got their drinks and pastries before we did so that was a little frustrating. I visited LDU a few weeks ago and everyone was so nice. Today I stopped by again and they are so welcoming and very friendly. I ordered a vanilla latte and cinnamon swirl loaf. The loaf is slightly toasted with butter,it was delicious. I got up to leave and threw my trash away, they thanked me by name. Such a refreshing pleasant environment, feels like a real neighborhood coffee shop. Keep up the great customer service LDU staff!! read more

First time at this location. Disappointed that there are no seasonal drinks or matcha. We go to a coffee shop every day- ritually. Our favorites are Lemma, 1418, Arwa, Magnolia, White Rock, The White Rabbit, Staycation, etc...Not just for the coffee and ambiance but because THEY HAVE BATHROOMS FOR THEIR PAYING CUSTOMERS! Could not believe it-TMI, but we were halfway to our car from leaving a restaurant. Told my husband oh no I should have used the restroom before we left, but I'll just go when we get to the coffee place. As a 55 year old woman that once gave birth to a 10 lb 1 oz baby-waiting is not smart, but we were only about 10 minutes away from LDU. Paid for our drinks and first thought is Okay, NOW I have to go to the bathroom. BUT WHAT, they say no public restroom. You can clearly see it is an emergency for me and I honestly think they thought it was funny. I nervously went outside looking around and had to go next door to Jimmy John's. Like WTH. At a place where drinks AND food is served, you don't have a bathroom for customers. Never again. read more

Not often do you come to a place where the asking of ones name is personal, that it's not a quick transaction, even more rare is that the staff would introduce themselves and then remember your name! I came here for 1 simple reason- a sign on the road that said- best latte ever- was it my personal best ever- no- but it was darn good! ( the best ever was at culture coffee in englewood, fl) The sandwich I had was outstanding as well. This shop is well run, nicely set up and I hope does really well for years to come! Came in to LDU, ordered a coffee and sandwich, sandwich was good I ordered the honey vanilla latte and it was not great. Couldn't taste the honey or vanilla. Asked where the bathroom was and was told I had to go outside and around the building to the back to go to the bathroom...... was planning on doing some work while having lunch..... gotta have a hot spot because they have no wifi!! WAIT A FUCKIN MINUTE! The folks who brought you a great cuppa on Fitzhugh ...have a location right next to HYPNOTIC DONUTS?? Amazing!! So I do a walk at White rock with my faithful companion, good doggo buddo, Finch and as I'm driving out ..I always try to ignore the siren call of Hypnotic Donuts But today...my eyes were magnetically pulled...and it was my birthday...and I was like....bday donut??....but then I saw LDU and was ....NAY!!! BDAY badass latte!! Ayyyyye! I walked in and homie at the register thought my name was Diana...and I was like...no sir ..that indeed is not my name. But how cool is it that they try to remember their regulars?? Sweet sweet man. So I ordered a "strong, 10oz vanilla latte with oat milk." And y'all....they just do great coffee. Beautifully pulled espresso, smoothly steamed milk....delicious. And what a perfect way to kick off my bday. Thanks y'all! (PS...tiny little indoor space to sit ... Y'all what kind of coffee shop doesn't have a customer bathroom?! I've been to the location on lower Greenville once and knew they would have hard wooden furniture so wasn't planning to stay long but no customer bathroom is unacceptable considering you are already paying for overpriced subpar coffee. What do you even offer to customers? Might as well be an order at the window and take your coffee with you business. read more

my espresso machine was being repaired so I tried all the coffee shops around casa linda area. I didnt really hate any of them - they were all ok but the coffee at LDU was exceptional. i think if they had wifi and a bathroom it would be wildly popular. read more

We feel so lucky that LDU opened right down the street from us! It's conveniently located in a lot with tons of parking and hypnotic donuts (if you're looking for a sweet treat to go along with your coffee). We've been twice now - we loved the latte and turkey sandwich (called the Sisi, I think), but the best part of our experience has always been the service. The staff are so nice and helpful!!! This location also has some indoor and outdoor seating. We can't wait to come back for more. read more

I absolutely love the coffee! Customer service is the best. Everyone is attentive, helpful and accommodating. The first time I went in they were closing but still took my order and made me feel welcome. The second time I went in (several weeks later) they remembered me and what I ordered the first time. As for the coffee, I ordered the black both times and it's rich and not over bearing. It's served hot and made fresh to order. If you love coffee try this place, you will will not be disappointed. It didn't really bother us, though it was distracting from the study we were trying to do together. We ordered drinks. My tea (flirt tea) had a strong, full, unique flavor I enjoyed a lot. The mug had a striking with the geometric aesthetic, though for some reason I found every time I drank it dribbled onto the table some with the angles; still can't figure why. The art in Asenscion was very distinctive, likewise angular, and fun to take in too. It wouldn't be my first choice for coffee shops simply due to the layout; I prefer a bit more privacy when I'm seeking a coffee shop, however the service and drinks we got were really wonderful! It also was SO much of a better option for hang places than Well Grounded just from the smell factor alone. If it wasn't so oppressively hot in July when we visited, the outdoor seating looked amazing / perfect! Last minor quibble, our table was uneven/ wobbly, as were the ones next to us. Best coffee shop in Dallas hands down. Espresso hits harder than the Radiohead they rock. Somehow they even remember my name. East Dallas got about 20% cooler when these guys opened up. We stopped by this coffee shop on our way to white rock lake and it did not disappoint! We got the vanilla and honey iced lattes and my husband tried the chocolate croissant. The walls are basically just big windows which is great for a people-watcher such as myself. The music is a little loud, which isn't a problem for me because I am not doing anything remotely productive but had I been here expecting to get work done, I'm not sure I would have succeeded. The people were super nice when I ordered and I even watched them go around and clean the surfaces which is always a good sign. As I look around, I notice that everyone else sitting in the cafe has mostly half consumed beverages that have been sitting awhile (they look a little watered down). Maybe I just don't like the espresso which is a preference thing. I'd say definitely give it a try and see if you like it. Not sure I'll be back, personally. My other coworker said that he expected the Spanish latte to be sweeter but that it wasn't bad. While there was little disappointment with the drinks, this was all FREE and there was a good line behind me so shoutout to the workers working early in the morning getting everything done(: There is street parking and I ended up getting a good spot in the front but there is also a small parking lot in the back. Overall, customer service was good, the place is nice in modern inside and seems like a good coworking space.
