A great place to eat before attending any events in my opinion, since it's close to the amphitheater. The food was actually good and the atmosphere was chill! My only suggestion is that, you are sure to check your bill as well as, your returned change because, of possibly being short changed and overcharged. Our waitress was nice but shady! The waitress charged $3 for a side of sour cream not telling us that it doesn't come on top of the meal. This same waitress also rounded off the amount giving the restaurant an extra .98. That's not alot but can add up if she's constantly doing this to customers. Rather than to disgust this with the waitress after mentioning it as she looked in the till lolly gagging in the change, I still tipped her well, and respectfully left the premises. I have a feeling that this isn't the first time that she short changes customers. I recommend that management address this behavior immediately before this business gets into trouble! Overcharging someone $3 for a side of sour cream without telling them the cost involved in a side, as well as, to short change hard working humans, is not being an honest establishment! Perhaps, she's used to customers coming in not knowing how to count or simply doesn't care but this is unacceptable behavior! I visited on a Wednesday evening. There was a seat available in the large dining area. There is a bar as well. No outdoor seating. The restaurant is in a shopping strip. so there's plenty of parking. The food. Oh my goodness. I fell in love with the salsa. Visits include complimentary chips and sasa. The salsa was hot and spicy and I loved it. We stopped in here before hitting the road returning to Las Vegas. We were amazed at how great the meal tasted. We had a pork chimichanga , chile relleno, and an enchilada. New Spot that serves Delicious Food Today was my first visit to El Pueblo Mexican Restaurant and it was very good. El Pueblo is a very family-friendly place with good atmosphere. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and the staff are welcoming. The food was delicious. It's rare to see an entree served as advertised on the menu picture but El Pueblo does it. On this visit we shared chips/salsa, Birria Tacos, shrimp/steak fajitas, rice, beans, and queso fundido, The Quesabirria tacos were delicious. The order comes with 3 tacos, and it will get you satisfied. The fajitas, chips/dip, were all perfectly prepared and presented. Everything was layered with flavors, the salsa was great, a few people in our party thought it was on the spicy side. The service was excellentt, both our server and the owner came to check on us to make sure we enjoyed our meals. Delicious food, large portions, reasonable prices. Best Mexican food we've had in the Greater Phoenix Area since we moved here almost two years ago... and we have been searching like burritos and tacos would bring world peace. We have obviously been searching in all the wrong places; Scottsdale, Mesa, Gilbert... too bougie to be authentic Mexican. Glendale is where the flavor lives! As soon as we exited our vehicle and heard competing Latino music blaring from multiple vehicles in the parking lot, we had a feeling that authentic Mexican food awaited our eager appetites. We were greeted in Spanish with friendly smiles, seated, and immediately provided water, chips, and two types of salsa - verde y rojo. The salsa was picante, but delicious. Hubby's face was sweating. We both ordered adovada chimichanga dinners; one with green sauce and one with red sauce. Dios mio, this heavenly food is blessed. Amazing flavors, crispy tortillas on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and not one hit of fat or gristle in heaping mounds of pork stuffed to the bursting point in those chimichangas. The flavors in each portion of the plate were distinctly delicious, perfectly seasoned, and excellent complements to each other. I also love that their rice doesn't have any veggies in it. Veggies are a side, not a rice-filler IMO (#saynotopeasinrice) I almost didn't want to write this review because we were able to walk in at 5:30pm on a Saturday, sit at our table, and eat within 45 min. Visited on a rainy Monday evening in the 6 o'clock hour with plans for ordering to go. There was only one other table occupied in a very large dining area. Immediately greeted by a genuinely friendly gal behind the counter who offered menus and a seat near register since it was our first time in. She patiently gave us time to look over menus and allowed us to order when we were ready. She tended to the seated table in the same friendly manner. A gentleman took our order and answered our questions about the food items (they had 2 different shrimp burritos which sounded the same on the menu). He listened well and got the order correct. We ordered enough for 5 adults. He warned of the items that were spicy...and THEY WERE! The food was package very well, in a sturdy paper bag, they even stapled the edges closed so rain would not enter on the way to car. Looks like a nice place to visit again. I would probably eat in with family sometime. Don't let the exterior deter you; it is in a strip mall on a busy corner and there are people hanging around the parking lots, but great interior space, friendly staff. Food was all very tasty. I had the cheese enchilada and beef taco combo plate. The enchilada sauce was SPICY and good. Taco was stuffed with shredded beef and great with their green salsa, which I added. Their shrimp burrito fair it's style was delicious. The shredded beef burrito combo was also spicy and looked like it could use more meat, the the one who ordered it was happy with it. Pricing is fair considering what's happening everywhere. I can't eat out that often. It was $80 for 5 adults, to go. I'd rather sit inside and enjoy next time. They have music on Fridays! Chips and salsa were good the green salsa is the best for sure. My only complaint is the rice it was alright it wasn't fresh ..but the rest of the meal was fire . Portion size is good as well you will leave full and satisfied. The ambiance at this time 9am is peaceful & quite with soccer on. They changed the channel on the tv for me to see the game better. I did a quick google search and this popped up as suggestion, we have passed this place SO many times and we regret not stopping by before! Delicious and Amazing portion size. I ordered the red chilaquiles with shredded beef (it's technically a special item on the menu to add the meat, I just can't remember the name...) and it was exactly what I hoped for. The kitchen took long enough that it felt that the food wasn't already sitting there. Haha. The staff were great and took my order once I was ready. Took the order to go and when I got home... Was very excited to try this place, unfortunately it did not deliver. Concept is good but they are falling short on the two most important things; food and service. We were greeted right away and sat down, a few seconds later we had complimentary chips and salsa, it was looking good! We got drinks and our order was taken, however when I asked for a refill they took my drink and never returned. Once food arrived, the carne asada plate was lukewarm, like it had been sitting on a food warmer for a while. Not cooked fresh or maybe it was cooked fresh and plated but not brought out until the other entrees were ready, either way, cold. The molcajete, their most expensive offering came without the usual sizzle that you would expect from a molcajete, just warm and not hot and served with a COLD salsa on the side as opposed to the bubbling salsa that should be mixed in. Cold salsa on lukewarm food tastes just like what you would expect, blah! On the service, the server would ask a question and start walking away before we could answer, she would also ask if we were ok on a fly by and not wait for an answer. No refills without asking and no check ins after the food was delivered until about 10 minutes afterwards. By then, we were just ready to leave and check this one off our list. read more

My wife and I found this place by pulling off i10 due to an accident. We'd just flown in and were hungry so we thought we find a restaurant and wait for the accident to clear. We pulled into the mall and saw el Pueblo. It was 4:30 on a Saturday and hardly anyone was in there. I thought we were making a mistake. The waitress got our drink order and brought us some tortilla chips. The red and verde sauces were great. I ordered the shrimp enchilada combo and my wife order the chimichanga asada combo. My shrimp enchilada combo was loaded with shrimp and my wife's chimmie was full of beef steak, cheese and spices - no fillers. The food was super good!! The Restuarant is a bit hidden to me so the location doesn't do it much justice being in the corner. If you can got and dine at El Pueblo on Fridays! They have Karaoke and it was a fun environment where a few diners participated. Outside of the environment being good the food was twice as good!! The asada Rancheros was the one! This place has only been open about 2 months. We stopped by today on a whim and really enjoyed everything about it. The restaurant is quite big and can accommodate large parties, the decor is colorful and everything inside looks brand new (I guess because it is). My partner had the seafood plate, which tasted super fresh, and I had the shredded beef chimichanga plate which was delicious and must have weighed at least 7 lbs. For dessert we had the tres leches cake which is made in-house, and to die for. Very flavorful with just the right amount of sweetness. Next time we'll try the chocolate cake. Service was great, a bit on the slower side but the food was worth the wait. We live 30+ minutes away but will definitely be back! I haven't written a restaurant review in a while but was really impressed with El Pueblo, and I hope they do well for many years to come. read more

Found this place on the drive home from Scottsdale back to Surprise. My partner and I split the Ribeye and shrimp platter and it was delicious. We ordered extra vegetables--so glad we did because they were cooked perfectly and we'd have been fighting each other for them otherwise.
