I have dined here many times over the past 5 years and even my coworkers love this place but I had a disappointing experience recently that really turned me off Peruvian food for a while. I brought my new BF who had never tried Peruvian food so I was excited for him to try and went in feeling it would be just as delicious as in recent years. We shared a plate of Aji Camarron along with the delicious sauces and sides of complimentary bread rolls. The shrimp was tasty but quite dry and we had it along with rice. Yes, I know we didn't try much but I had never tried seafood before only the usual Lomo Saltado or the green beans with beef and walnut sauce which were always delicious. The ambiance and service is always great so no complaints there but I was just disappointed at the rate of the one dish I was hoping to impress with on my BF's first visit. The menu here informs that you that the name of the chef and owner is Jorge Chan and that pretty much says it all. Peruvian is Latin food with a strong Asian influence. Pollo saltado has got to be one of my favorite dishes and I've eaten it at many places (just check out my Yelp photos for proof!) and I'll say that the version served here was one of the best I've had. This one was actually full of nicely sauteed tender chicken, much more than I'm accustomed to. Maybe this is because this place is fancier than the other Peruvian joints I've frequented. Lol. The rice was a tiny bit overcooked but once the soy-based stir fry sauce got on it, that didn't really matter much. Everything in this dish works so well together - the sauteed chicken, green and yellow onions, tomatoes, fried potatoes...and that sauce! Service is lively and the food hits the table quickly. There's lots of parking and it's an easy location to get to from all directions. You get stir-fry Angus, onions,, tomatoes, and fried potatoes with rice. I have also had their Tallarin Verde. It's breaded chicken or beef, I had the chicken, pesto spaghetti with parmaseam cheese. They start your meal with some bread and two different dipping sauces. Outside dinning is the only option and they disinfect after every customer. There are several options for drinks but I usually get water or a maracuya (passion fruit) drink. You may have to wait between 45 minutes to an hour but trust, it's worth it. read more

I feel like I was greeted in a not friendly attitude (granted, it was pouring and there was nobody dinning in). The lady I talked to was not recommending anything to me and i let her know this was my first time here. She just was not interested at all in helping me out. I settled on the lomo saltado, which was about $25, with tax $27. They lady told me itll take 30 minutes to cook, i then put a $2 tip and she changed her statement, and said "actually it would take about 10 minutes? I ended up getting my food, it was okay, not bad. It also game with bread and some side sauces. In my opinion, its not worth it for that price. Im glad i tried it and this new restaurant, I dont think i would be back though, I had so many mixed feelings about this restaurant. Any place that provides complimentary bread and sauce is my type of place! Love me some carbs. I enjoyed both sauces equally - the green has a little more of a spicy kick and the orange has a mild sweet flavor. Lomo Saltado ($16): Can't eat at a Peruvian restaurant and pass on the lomo saltado! The fries still held up a little bit of the crispiness and paired extremely well with the red onions, tomatoes and tender beef chunks. Portion sizes are absolutely fantastic! I was so happy to have half my meal as leftovers. Initially, I didn't enjoy all the sauce from the plate sogging up my rice but it was SO SO good as leftovers. Parking can be a hit or miss during peak hours. May just have to park a little further. read more

This place is not what it used to be. I took a break after poor continuous poor quality of food. I kept coming back because it's close to home, but after my last visit... I will not return. Staff and hosts are amazing but the food is poor. Time and time again I keep getting cold fries and super dried meat on the Lomo saltado. How in the world do you screw this up? How can a chef, or cook be proud to put something like this out?! On my last visits, I returned my plate twice. First because the fries were cold, then you can tell they just removed the meat and shoved it in a microwave, because it came out looking like jerky. Even the host looked at it with embarrassment. Anyway, save yourself the trouble... go somewhere where they do care about attention to detail. The only reason I give this place a two star is because they do have good servers. read more
