i had no idea this taco spot is located in glendale. as a new customer, i am most definitely hooked on this place. i will be coming here more often as a regular. ahah. this taco spot gives off super chill vibes as you walk inside. you notice everyone chit chatting & enjoying their food. love the welcoming atmosphere. the gentleman that helped get our food ordered was wonderfully kind. i can tell he enjoys satisfying people amazing food and lovely helpful attitude. i had the chance to try their tacos & quesadilla. 3 el pastor tacos & 3 carne asada tacos and wow! absolutely delicious and i love love love that they can add cheese on top! the meats were nicely seasoned. not chewy at all. i don't like chewy meat. their quesadilla was really good as well. a bit too spicy for my palate but to each their own. they have outdoor parking which is convenient. indoor seating which is nice but tables are limited when it's busy. read more

Pretty solid Mexican food! They have been at this corner for many many years. I haven't had them in a while but was looking for a good breakfast burrito in the area and I wanted it with carne asada (instead of ham, sausage, or bacon). El Sauz to the rescue and it was just want I wanted! Burrito was pretty filling with a good amount of meat, beans, eggs, potatoes with chopped tomatoes and jalapeños, and cheese. It was pretty evenly divided ingredients wise. I do wish their salsa had a little more flavor but the grilled chiles seranos made up for it! Needed a taco fix and with the good reviews I thought id give this place a try. First off, parking is terrible everyone that isn't visiting the restaurant parks here and people must think they own the place because they park where ever they want, just because they drive a lambo, really? Cash only, ordered 5 tacos and took 25mins, not worth the wait but I have to say the burritos looked like they were the best deals and sufficient in size and price. Only to go orders... currently not seating patrons. Lastly, I should've specified two different orders with the tacos.. it all came in one foil and was hard to eat in the car having to share with someone. We are visiting from out of town and asked the bartender at our hotel in Glendale where to get the best tacos. El Sauz was one of his two recommendations so we decided to give it a try! After a long day at Universal Studios we were definitely hungry but didn't want to eat at the park so we went to El Sauz to pick up food to take back to our room. El Sauz is situated on the corner and has a parking lot for about 20 cars plus local street parking. It's a small place with about 7 tables for dine-in and there were several people eating there when we arrived at about 7 PM on a Sunday. After we ordered we noticed a steady line of customers the whole time we were there but the line moved pretty quick. They only accept cash but have an ATM right there, I had cash but no biggie either way. El Sauz offers tacos, burritos, quesadillas and tortas with the choice of Asada, Al Pastor, Pollo, Cabeza, and Lengua. I wish they also had Chorizo but they do not. They also have Agua Fresca. We ordered a variety of tacos, an Asada Quesadilla and a Pollo Torta and some Jamaica and Horchata. The food came with radishes, chile asados (roasted) jalapeños and lemons (not limes). The tacos had some onions and cilantro but very little so it would be nice if they gave that in a baggie on the side too. I'm sure you can ask. It also came with red and green salsas. The salsas were both great and full of flavor! The tacos were all great, but we liked the Al Pastor the best. The Asada quesadilla was also really good but there were a lot of areas with just tortilla and no meat or cheese...that was all mostly in the middle. My favorite was the torta, it was delicious and had great flavors from the pollo, beans, avocado and all the other condiments! We enjoyed our food and recommend you give this place a try! read more

I used to live next door to this place. On good days, it served up some of the best burritos and tortas I've ever had. Some days are off, and the burritos are rather dry. I think some of their cooks drain the meats more or less than others. I particularly like things juicy and a little messy. Anyway, can't go wrong with the pollo or asada. The other stuff is solid (I've tried them all), but none of them blow me away. The cabesa is my least favorite of theirs, but it's still better than a lot of what else is out there. This place is a classic taco shop!! Everytime I want authentic Mexican tacos, I end up here! The place is cash only so make sure to bring cash. Slightly crispy but still juicy and the marinade was able to stand up to being cooked on what I assume was an open flame. It tasted like it was grilled on an open flame. Not sure what kind of cheese but it tasted very much in the Mexican theme so I'm guessing a mix of Cotija and a soft melt like Queso de Oaxaca. They serve their items with two kinds of delicious homemade salsa as well as expected traditional accompaniments like grilled jalapeño peppers, radishes and lemon wedges. This is a nice little spot for some quick Mexican food. We stopped for a late breakfast. It was my first time here, so I just ordered a burrito with chorizo. Just the weight of the burrito alone felt solid and filled with deliciousness. After unwrapping the foil from the burrito and taking my first bite, i could smell the eggs and chorizo and tortilla and could see the steam from the food fresh off the grill. Their salsa rojo was had the perfect amount of heat to compliment the burrito. The spicy but not overpowering and it made the burrito that much better. The burrito was wrapped so delicately, when I got to the bottom, it was still in tact, nicely folded and neat, keeping everything together. Their menu is full of more delicious food items, and there's a variety of different meats to choose from. There was a line when I arrived and a line when I was leaving which means, there's a large following of local customers so they're doing something right! read more

These tacos are mid. We ordered asada and Al pastor tacos and the meats weren't very tender and lacking in flavor. The tortillas were almost cold? And just tasted like day old tortillas. It smelled great upon parking and ordering but once we ate them didn't impress me at all. The service was good the man was really nice and they have a little seating area outside around the back. Was excited to come here for my first time. I'm not sure if the food is enough to bring me back because the lady at the front was not great. As stated it gets busy. Only a few people ahead of us.
