Amazing chips with guacamole and quesadilla. Super nice waiters. Music is nice and makes a great ambience. Perfect!

I just left and had to leave a review. The food was absolutely amazing. It tasted so fresh and flavorful. The service was really great and attentive. I would recommend eating outside because it's like an oven inside, but the outside seating was decorated nicely with good music playing. If you're on vacation and want some good food I'd recommend this place 100% Special mention: the chicharron was fresh, hot, and delicious!

    Veggie Taco + Beans

El Taquito was on our last stop on the Little Havana street, and we were excited to try their Mexican cuisine. We ordered the Veggie Taco Bowls, and added extra beans to that order. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with statues frogs in the front which the kids enjoyed. The Veggie Taco Bowls were very good and presented nicely. I wish they had added more beans, since we paid extra for them. Maybe a language thing. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at El Taquito, and the service was good. The restaurant had a lovely ambiance, and the food was delicious and well-prepared. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Mexican cuisine in Little Havana. I would ask for a printed receipt since depending on the size of the group the tip is already included and the electronic bill gadget does not show that and you might end up double tipping.

If nothing else is open, then ok - I guess, but I wouldn't purposely return. THE PLACE: Located in Little Havana, plenty of street parking is available. El taquito is very well decorated, is clean, organized and has a great "mom & pop" feel to it. THE FOOD: The food options are typical, on my visit, I have 3 al pastor tacos. 1/5 edible yes, but were very dry, no sauce, barely any pineapple and the meat was straight-up burned. I have to take out many charred pieces. Not to mention I paid 12 dollars for 3 mediocre street tacos with no sides. THE SERVICE: Staff seemed overwhelmed but were ice and worked quickly.

When I list an item in my "Late Night Gourmet" list, it means a place that typically does not have white table cloth service and space isn't a premium. However, it's not a knock on the food. It's a lifesaver after a drink (or 3) or conversely a quick lunch during the day when you're starving and don't feel like being boogie. On all of those counts, El Taquito II fits the bill! I stopped by for a bite with friends after a nearby Yelp event and we snagged two tables in the cozy inside as well as some bar seating. The soundtrack was tropical I believe (the drinks were pretty good from the earlier event :) , the seats were backless stools and our waitress pretty decent. But the conversation and jokes with our crew was the best. My sustenance was their "Ahogado" chicken burrito; a sizable and deliciously cheesy & sloppy tortilla with cilantro, plenty of cheese, salsa verde and a decent amount of chicken pieces. I believe chips and salsa would have been extra, though the salsa verde tasted good. All In a all El Taquito is a solid spot for a quick bite in Little Havana.

Went there on a Friday night and the ambiance was good. Not too crowded. We sat outside and it was nice. We had the passion fruit margaritas and the corona margarita. They were delicious and huge! Very tasty and refreshing. We had the elote, esquinites and chips with guacamole as appetizer and they were very fresh and yummy. As entrees we had the churrasco tacos, steak sopes & Al pastor tacos. They were fresh as well and very tasty. Also very satisfying. For dessert we had the churros and they were okay. The service was okay. Thought it could of been better and more attentive.

Good after hours taco place! Have tried most of the tacos and find them tasty and the best part is the price! Good for large groups and the service was fast.

Wow. Amazing. Took my cousin here visiting from Mexico and thought why not just try and see if it tastes like our grandmas. To our surprise it might have surpassed her tamales but we asked to keep that on the low. Amazing service followed by amazing food. I wouldn't miss it.

While we wait 20 minutes for someone to come to us. At least could've had water.

Terrible service. Beautiful location but the service was bad. The cooks had better service than the front. The sweet lady cooks looked concerned about what was going on and at least looked at us unlike the rest. They even alerted them that we are waiting even though they know that. Food was delicious. The drinks were not great at all. My spicy margarita tasted super sweet. We waited 20 minutes to get a server. I don't know what they had going on but they had no manners or respect for the guests. Two tables in front. The whole time they were all arguing over something. I felt like I was in a reality show. I left very disappointed and will never return because of the treatment. I would've left but I stayed for my stubborn friend. Service is the number one thing. My server had a bad attitude and was basically rushing when were paying and not even at least a smile or thank you goodbye nothing. My friend was telling me about this place and we were super excited to check it out so this is definitely a let down. And especially for the prices as well.

Would I go back to El Taquito? Definitely!!! But I would have to order 8 meals. One to dine-in and one for each day of the following week... Great staff, delicious meals (taco salad, flauta, and my favorite tacos-al-pastor), music and ambiance was very folkloric and reminded me why I like going Up & Down 8th St, rediscovering the "latino flavor"

Parking was a bit challenging due to the limited number of spaces, but once we walked inside, the experience more than made up for it. We were warmly greeted by Carolina, who also became our server. She was incredibly patient and took her time walking us through the menu, explaining each dish and how everything is prepared. Her dedication to customer satisfaction truly stood out, and we hope management recognizes what an asset she is. Carolina proudly shared that every item on the menu is made in‑house, and it absolutely shows. My wife ordered the Quesadilla de Pollo with a side of Arroz Mexicano and couldn't stop talking about the exceptional flavors. I chose the Tostada al Pastor, a small Tortilla Soup, and a side salad. Everything was delicious, but the Tortilla Soup was the star of the meal--a perfect example of why in‑house preparation matters. Since we're not from the area, we weren't sure where to go for lunch, and we truly lucked out choosing Don Maguey--and having Carolina as our server. Thank you, Carolina. When I looked 20 minutes after at my credit card statement read I had been charged $77 and change pending a potential tip on top of that, even with tip included it is still over approximately $7 what I signed off for. We called to determine the prices of each individual meal and "the manager" was stumbling to tell us the prices for everything. Even with the fake numbers that were given to us it still didn't add up correctly. I remember the prices for the 3 meals my family and I ordered and I remember what the check said. I let it be because maybe they need more than I do. As for the food, I'm born and raised on the border of Mexico and although I must say it does scream authenticity especially on appearance the meat is bland, and that "Mexican rice" is by far the worst tasting rice I've had. For a casual person that likes Mexican food you may like it, but if you know what you're tasting you will not. Also, they didn't have 4 different things on the menu available ultimately leading me to have to go with my 5th option. It is very expensive for what it is, and even more expensive when your waitress manipulates the system.

Mauricio was at the bar and we definitely missed being under his attention by not sitting there. Eliezer (the Venezuelan waiter from Mérida) took care of us in the dining room. Both are always very friendly and attentive. This time we decided to sit in the dining room because we were a group of three and had a lot to talk about. The place has 4 TVs and we were able to enjoy the France vs Spain match. We all ordered La Tropical Draft beer, a light, smooth, and very refreshing blonde. In total we had 16 beers . We shared nachos with grilled steak, which were very good (they pour the melted cheese right at the table). We also ordered tripa tacos well toasted (that's the technique) as we requested, and they came out excellent. Note: They have different promotions or offers depending on the day, not a regular happy hour variety, so it's good to be aware of that. The restaurant offers a good variety of 8 salsas: Sirloin, Chips, Guacamole, Verde, Vicente, Pastor, Chilanga, and Asada. Good atmosphere, pleasant service, and tasty food. We'll definitely keep coming back.

Water is self-serve, and once you're done with your meal, you just head out. There's minimal interaction with staff, which might appeal to people who prefer a more low-key, independent dining experience or want a place to sit and work without being interrupted. That said, the service did not feel very friendly or welcoming. And personally, I left feeling a bit underwhelmed.

Before going, we called the restaurant to ask if they would be showing the World Cup games, and we were told they would be showing all of them. Based on that, we expected a good viewing experience. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. There aren't enough TVs, many of the views are obstructed, and we actually had to move to the bar just to see part of the game. Even then, the music was so loud that we couldn't hear the match at all. When we asked the manager about it, he told us that ownership's instructions were to play music instead of the game's audio. That was especially surprising considering this is a Mexican-owned restaurant and the match was a Mexico World Cup game. The biggest disappointment, however, was the service. To be fair, the restaurant was only about half full, so this wasn't a situation where the staff was overwhelmed by a packed house or unusually heavy demand. I was there with two female friends. I ordered a martini while my friends simply asked for water. The bartender reacted as if asking for water was somehow an inconvenience. We weren't even served chips and salsa until we repeatedly waved down members of the staff and specifically requested them. The bartenders consistently ignored us. My friends waited nearly 20 minutes before anyone came back so they could order their martinis. We later ordered guacamole and the Leña skirt steak. The guacamole arrived promptly, but the steak never did. When we asked another bartender to check on it, he looked in the system and told us there was no food order entered at all. This was unbelievable because the original bartender had described the dish, asked how we wanted the steak cooked, and appeared to take the order. He simply never entered it. When we complained to the manager about the missing food, he told us the kitchen was already closed but that he would "make an exception" and have the steak prepared for us. That response really upset me because this wasn't us asking for special treatment--it was the restaurant trying to correct its own mistake. I told him to simply cancel the order. He then said not to worry because he wouldn't charge us for it, as if not charging for a meal would somehow make up for the experience we had just endured. I declined the offer, but he responded by saying he would bring it anyway and that if we didn't want it, we could just leave it there. To me, that response was even more dismissive and completely missed the point. Throughout the evening, the bartenders were inattentive, dismissive, and consistently rude. Their attitude completely overshadowed what had always been one of my favorite restaurants in Coconut Grove. By halftime, we had simply had enough. Instead of continuing what should have been a fun night, we decided to leave the restaurant and go home, where we watched the rest of the Mexico match in the comfort of my home. Sadly, that turned out to be the best part of the night. I'm writing this review because I know Koko is capable of much better. My previous visits have always been enjoyable, which made this experience even more disappointing. However, if you're planning to watch a World Cup match there, I would strongly recommend choosing another venue. While they may tell you they'll be showing the game, the viewing experience is poor, the game audio is replaced with loud music, and based on our visit, the service was, without question, the worst I've experienced there since the restaurant opened. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously because Koko has always been one of my favorite restaurants, and I'd like to be able to recommend it again. Unfortunately, after this experience, I simply can't.

The server was phenomenal, and the food tasted great, though portions run a little small for the price. One thing that caught me off guard: most of the table ordered tacos and enchiladas, but when the plates arrived, the "tacos" were essentially flautas and the "enchiladas" were more like tacos (the photo shown is the enchiladas). Naming aside, both dishes were delicious. We were also celebrating a birthday, and the staff sang for her and brought out a complimentary dessert--hands down the best brownie dessert I've ever had. The drinks were good, the food came out hot, and the ambiance was wonderful, with friendly, kind staff throughout. What did we order? Chorizo Queso: Not your traditional dipping queso, but FULL of flavor and the chorizo was great, decent portion. The table loved this. Comes with some warm fresh purple corn tortillas! 9/10 Guacamole: Nothing extraordinary, standard guac, I wish there was more guac and chips! The tortillas these come with are the same as the queso but fried and uncut. A little different but it was a nice change! 7/10 Chicken and Chorizo Enchiladas: Not your standard enchilada that you may be used to! Full of flavor though and everything was cooked very well! 8/10! The nachos were what I was most eager to try as they are all the rage on social media. They lived up to the hype and that nacho cheese is absolute gold. I love that it's served in a pizza box. It just makes it iconic. It travels well and everything was still hot when I got home. The Al Pastor taco was just okay, nothing to write home about but now the steak burrito was really really good. I love that they don't have rice in their burritos and instead replace it with potatoes, which is absolutely delicious. They give two different types of salsas with your order plus limes and the green salsa is unreal. Add it to everything for a flavor boost! All in all this place is fire and if you're craving nachos, this is definitely the place you should come to get your fix!

So I've been ordering food from uptown 66 for 5 years. I live a few blocks away and it was our…read morefavorite place to grab a quick bite or late night meal. Ever since I tried their steak Caesar salad I've been obsessed. That was my usual from there for 5 years. 2 nights ago we ordered from uptown and when we got our order I was so angry I didn't want to even eat my food. 1. Steak literally looked like wet dog food 2. They no longer do the frisée salad instead It's just plain old Romaine lettuce 3. For some reason they stopped giving their salsa now which was the highlight of my order 4. The container is so small and the egg was so hot that it melted all the Parmesan cheese and it was just a nasty glob 5. The eggs were so over boiled that they had that grey tint on the yolk and smelled horrible 6. 2 salads cost almost $50 so jokes on us Never again!!! I've literally banned uptown from our house. The audacity to charge so much for a mid salad topped with nasty dog food looking "steak"
