I'd missed the lunch rush as it was me and one other person. Place is clean and staff is uber friendly - usually folks can't mix and match tacos on the taco platter, but since there was no customer crush ... Is in a sort of office park, plenty of parking. Got the empanadas (2, $6) - sort of a crispy cornmeal crunchy shell with a shredded seasoned beef inside. Tasty. And the taco platter of 3 tacos ($12ish), each stuffed with meat. We recently went to brunch at Kukulcan Mexican Restaurant with some friends, and it was a great experience! The restaurant was really clean, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious. I ordered the huevos a la Mexicana, and they were pretty good. My husband had the cochinita pibil torta and enjoyed it as well. He mentioned the meat could have used a little more seasoning, but overall he still thought it was really good. I did also enjoy their cafe de olla. Our friends enjoyed their meals too. I was craving some chilaquiles before heading out to work and luckily found this spot. Kukulcan definitely came through with the chilaquiles. Great flavor, not spicy but flavorful. Big portion definitely worth it. Plus the customer service is great too. I forgot the gentleman's name but he was attentive. I am stunned by how good this place was. It's in a little business park off 35 so it looks very unassuming. I came in on a Tuesday morning so it was pretty dead but the guy at the front couldn't have been nicer. Asked him what to get and he said the chilaquiles Kukulcan. The result was outstanding. Juan was so accommodating and made the experience well above average. Their red and green sauces were the best I have ever eaten. The brown sugar/cinnamon sweetener for the coffee made one Fine Cup of Coffee. Find this restaurant next to the Mexican Consulate. It's the Real Deal. This spot is unassuming in a corporate park, tucked away near the back but you will not want to skip over this place. I ordered the Chilaquiles with steak and it was 15/10. Piping hot, well seasoned and a hearty helping. The coffee was brought out hot and fresh with all the fixings. Sauces are brought to the table so you have plenty. The owner was exceptional. Very kind and gave me a little blessing for my food as he put it down. He checked on me and made sure I had everything to enjoy my experience. I had a feeling this place would be legitimate as it's brilliantly situated near an immigration attorney's office. It did not disappoint. It seems to be run by a nice uncle and aunt type who speak kindness and love over every patron's meal. The food is a bit pricier, likely to counter their overhead costs, but I have to say it was worth every penny. I hope to return the next time I'm in town.
