We came on a Monday and they even had the football game on! It was super dead with one other person at the bar area. We are regulars that usually come on Tuesdays and Fridays for their taco deals (usually lines to the door). Today was our second time coming to their regular happy hour and we had quite a nice experience. No crazy long lines and the food came out good, hot and fresh. We got the sample platter with 2 beers all for $19.93 during their happy hour! Definitely worth a try! The sample platter came with nachos with fixings, carne asada fries, cheese quesadilla, 3 chicken nuggets, and 2 flautas cut in half. I was really hungry. Saw a lot of people in this restaurant. It was Taco Tuesday with $2 tacos. The tacos looked great but I decided to do a 2 seafood taco plate. It was delicious. They had plenty of seating options inside and the place was nicely cooled with AC blasting inside. They have $1.99 Taco Special on Tuesdays (ground beef, chicken, or potatoes for protein options). I went for their crispy tacos w/ chicken and did not disappoint. Staff was quick and courteous and they bring their food out to you by name. The only down side was they ran out of bottles of their salsas (a green avocado salsa and red chipotle-rich salsa roja) Great place to pick up some authentic homemade tacos if you're ever in the mood. read more

I stopped by yesterday to grab a batch of tacos for lunch.. and I'm already debating how I can get another batch for dinner. I love that they have a wide variety of menu items, including a good number of vegan options. They offer breakfast wraps, taco bowls, burritos, elote, and speciality fries topped with hot cheetos! You can even order family packs with discounted pricing for groups. My order consisted of a potato, mushroom, and chicken taco. The potato and chicken were fried crispy tacos, while the mushroom was served on a small corn tortilla. I personally loved the fried crispy tacos, especially with their creamy green sauce. Came to pick it up and at $13, my burrito looked smaller than a Del taco burrito. Uncool but whatever because I know it will be delicious. I tried this place twice, on Tuesday and Friday for their deals. What drew me was the line for Taco Tuesday and their handmade tortillas. Service was very good. It gets busy on their taco deal days. I got the Mexican Carne asada taco, a veggie taco with black beans, and two crispy tacos with potatos. The mexican and veggie taco were both hits. They come with only one tortilla unlike most places but it is very flavorful and thick. Even though I ordered them to go the tortilla didnt get soggy and break. The carne asada was cooked perfectly. The veggie taco was loaded. My only issue is the crispy tacos, the potatoes had very little flavor. Not bad. but I wouldnt get again. Theres better tacos de papa in the OC. The sauces are also on the mild side. They don't really have a kick, sadly. Would definetly come again and try more things :) read more

Since this place has been under construction, my mom and I have been wanting to come here to try their tacos. We love potato tacos, so we were very happy that they have potato tacos as well as the regular tacos that most taco places have. We also ordered a crispy beef taco and a crispy chicken taco, too. All 3 of the crispy tacos did not disappoint and the potato taco was the perfect taco to dip into my chicken tortilla soup. The chicken tortilla soup really should've been called the veggie tortilla soup because they had more veggies in it than chicken. Although everything in the soup was cooked well and seasoned just right, I really missed having my chicken protein in this meal and that's why I'm giving this place 4 stars. The tacos were all great, crispy, not greasy at all, and the meat was perfectly seasoned. I really enjoyed those tacos and can't wait to try the chicken tortilla soup again to see if they included more chicken in it. We called our order in ahead of time and the lady over the phone gave me an estimated wait time of 15 minutes and she was right! The food was ready by the time 15 minutes had passed and we were able to pay and get on our way pretty quickly. The inside of the store is immaculate, you can tell that the owners and employees really work hard to keep everything spotless. And there are a decent amount of tables and chairs to accommodate large parties (by moving tables so they're next to each other) and there's even a bar area where people can have drinks and eat tacos. I thoroughly enjoyed the tacos, so we will be back for taco Tuesday soon. If you live in the harbour area, this is the Mexican restaurant to enjoy and check out! read more

Honestly, we eat here at least once a week, if not more. We love both breakfast and lunch/dinner options. My personal fav for breakfast is the el paisa burrito and my husband likes their huevos rancheros. For the main menu, I alternate between a shrimp burrito bowl and the shrimp and steak mega taco (this one is huge!). My husband really loves the cheese enchilada plate with red sauce. Our new go-to taco spot! My husband found this new taco spot. We ordered barbacoa, carne asada, and carnitas tacos and churro to go. They were very generous with the meat. Tacos were very flavorful and meat was tender. Sauces were good. The red sauce had a kick but wasn't too spicy. The churros were warm and had the perfect crunch with sugar and cinnamon all over. I have been and a non Tuesday but I find it a bit pricey for tacos so now Is my Taco Tuesday place without having to drive all the way to Beach Blvd. Is located on Warner in the Ralph's Shopping Center- before Bolsa Chica I really like to visit on a Taco Tuesday, because the tacos are half priced. Some of their tacos are on the smaller size so I have to take dainty, small bites to enjoy them. You can't go wrong with any of their tacos in their menu. My daughter and I ordered a bunch of tacos to try them out. Crispy Potatoe Taco, crispy ground beef, crispy chicken taco. Which are on the smaller size, again take dainty- delicate bites to enjoy every bite. The Street Tacos, are single tortilla on the smaller size. The Al Pastor didn't taste the pineapple but are still worth it. The beef taco you can see and taste the grilled onion. One taco not to missed is the Taco Lite-Salad Taco, which is a mixed of vegetables wrapped with a lettuce um healthy-delicious! Also, tried the Portobello Taco but it was not memorable. The service both on the phone or in person it has been friendly and courteous. I defenitely need come in and try their other menu options because they have breakfast, lunch, dinner options. Poor food handling, cross contamination, and no hand hygiene! I had visited this place a few times before my husband and I sat this particular time at the high top counter facing the staff, the cooks, and observing their actions closely. The senior cook behind the counter uses his dirty counter wiping rag to absorb ANY fried food coming out of the fryer. I watched this cook routinely place fried tacos, fish, and chicken in his dirty white terry cloth towel first, squeeze the excess grease out, then plate it up. I observed a customer return his order to the staff at the counter stating he did not want any cheese on his tacos. I then witnessed the two cooks in the back fingering EACH taco of this gentleman's order, sifting through each taco with their ungloved, unwashed filthy hands. Of course the same order was returned to the customer. This is repulsive and UNACCEPTABLE. As my husband and I sat at the counter; I quickly became more and more disgusted by one of the servers wiping her nose, then handling plates. Another server began cleaning out used dishes with brown paper towels, using the same paper towels to then clean the counter and crevices of the top of their freezer, and back to wiping out more dishes with the SAME dirty brown paper towel. I couldn't help myself watching this server clean out a small metal dish, still using the same dirty paper towels, then serve a customer guacamole in that same dish. The entire staff use their bare hands to scratch their heads, nose, mouth & face, handle money, then return to handling food. The cooks use their bare hands in food preparation, put food in their mouth, then back to cooking. Food prep practices here are far below sub standard in my professional opinion and this establishment must review OSHA standards and practices, follow appropriate guidelines on food handling, eliminate cross contamination, and utilize proper disinfection. To add insult to injury, there is a definite attitude and arrogance displayed from the cooks behind the counter. They are not humble and grateful for the patrons who stop in and spend their hard earned money on their cross contaminated food. It's only a matter of time before a serious medical emergency occurs due to their obvious intentional negligence. I'll leave the rest to the health department. read more
