Came here this past Tuesday for a late lunch. I had the lunch buffet and it had some better choices than the last time. I had carne asada tacos, salad, beans, rice, chili verde, beef, chicken tortilla soup, and corn cake. The grilled chicken I added to my salad was too spicy, but the rest of the food was good. I'm glad they had some different entree choices such as the chili verde and beef with potatoes. The worker overcooked my tortillas and burned a hole in one of them. Not 5 stars because it seemed as though management was not as prepared for the high amount of people for the Mother's Day brunch. What saved the experience was our server Angel. Even though they were slammed he provided great service. Maybe next large holiday management needs to reevaluate the setup and execution. read more

This El Torito location is absolutely wonderful! Food: We stopped in on a Thursday evening around 6 pm and opted to sit at the catina area. The chips and salsa right when we sat down were wonderful and one of my favorite parts of dining at El Torito! We shared a sizzling enchiladas rancheras entree that came with rice, beans, and corn. It was plenty of food and so delicious. We shared our vegetarian dietary preferences with our server and she had so many wonderful modification ideas! We loved the grilled veggies inside our enchiladas and it was the perfect touch! Service: It took a few minutes for us to catch the server's attention, but it was perfect service after that! Our server was so hospitable and made our dining experience absolutely wonderful. Tons of parking in the huge lot in front of the restaurant, there's no issue finding a spot even when it's busy! No wifi available. There's nice music playing in the restuarant and options for both bar and sit-down restaurant seating. read more

We came to this El Torito for their Thanksgiving All you can Eat buffet yesterday and we loved it. The food was delicious - all the Thanksgiving food PLUS they still had fresh made tortillas and taco bar. My husband and I have a 10year old and a 1 year old - they had a kids' table with chocolate milk, tater tots, chicken tenders, gogurt style yogurts and a basket of little toys to keep the kids entertained. Both my girls played with the little toy offerings, That was so thoughtful!! The ambiance was lovely, great lay out, nice lighting, nice Mexican Decor. The hosts and wait staff were super nice and made us feel welcome, the manager even came over to say hello and thank us for coming in. It was such a great experience. Drinks were excellent and the buffet came with unlimited Mimosas! They also had a coffee bar by the door and I made myself a half coffee half hot chocolate on the way out. Horrible service. We sat at bar for fultime service. He would dissappear various times leaving us without a drink, napkins, appetizer plates. The 1st mango margarita i asked for a little sweeter than usual with extra tajin. I had to repeat order about 3x. The var was empty... like serseriously, you forgot what I ordered. The 2nd mango margarita I ordered, he forgot to make it sweeter and he added some tajin. I asked him for more mango syrup and he replied, "it makes it sweeter, you ok with that?" ‍ I literally just ordered the first one with extra sweetness and tajin. The bar has like 4 other customers... I was just annoyed with the whole atmosphere. Look at that glass rim... extra tajin anywhere? Had a reservation for 5 and that process was easy. Arrived and we were seated promptly. Our waiter was a bit on the slow side but, it is Saturday so we can overlook that. On Saturday my beautiful bride and I were coming back from home shopping in Yucaipa and decided to hit the El Torito in Ontario for dinner. Server Stephanie was superb. She was efficient and responsive w/ keeping our drinks, chips/salsa refilled and brought us our orders swiftly. She was smiling and cheerful despite the Saturday night date crowd. 5 stars to Stephanie!! Leti, who despite her JLO like figure thinks she needs to watch what she eats, went for a Chicken Caesar salad and her Greatest Of All Time (GOAT!) salad dressing, El Torito's proprietary Cilantro Pepita Caesar dressing. Me? I arrived hungry as a Pacific Northwest Grizzly following his 3-month sabbatical (winter hibernation) ... but a few bites into my four-item Macho Combo left me regretting that I'd ordered three of the four items! Explanation? The crispy taco with Beef Machaca was awesome. Sinewy pulls of leathery, stringy machaca style beef topped w/ ice cold lettuce, tomato and salsa. A truly dreamy taco. My enchilada suiza with pollo was lukewarm and the sour cream sauce lacked the twang that you usually want and expect with sour cream. The chicken flauta came drenched in a Southwestern Ranch type sauce that was gross, then El Torito doubled down on the "Let's ruin a meal" gambit by serving it alongside the damnedest dipping sauce- a small ramekin filled with HONEY! Like, I may have arrived HUNGRY as a grizzly, but please ... what makes you think I wanna dip my flauta in honey??! Next, my disappointed, crestfallen eyes turned to my chile relleno, that last bastion of salvaging tonight's meal from the grips of defeat. Alas, the chile relleno was breaded a bit too enthusiastically, eggier and more breaded than with rich Pasilla pepper taste. Plus, and this was a common theme tonight- the TEMPERATURE was, at best, lukewarm. My meal was 2 Stars. Leti's meal was 4 stars. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Overall, three stars but be careful what you order and insist they bring you your foot nice and hot! read more

Anybody in the mmod for a FANCY buffet brunch? This one is amongst the best ones I've enjoyed. EVERYTHING was good. No dry, cardboard, mini-cakes, here. Just DELICIOUS pieces of carrot cake, lemon cake, brownies (the only 3 I grabbed, there was a few more). They got a chocolate dipping fountain. Vanilla Ice cream, caramel drizzle, strawberry drizzle & real whipped cream. Kids section with chicken tenders the size of my hand(and they tasted as good as canes), mac & cheese, corndogs, fries, chocolate & normal milks. Waffles, pancakes, churros. Taco bar was BOMB. Omelet bar, too. Posole, ceviche, tamales, enchiladas, all the meats (chicken, chili verde, carnitas, machaca, asada, chili colorado) Most buffets have some things good & worth getting and most of it not worth it. I order online at 5:50pm and the website says my order will be ready at 6:09pm. I get to the restaurant at 6:20pm and check in with the hostess and sit around. My order is not handed to me until 6:55pm. I think it's unacceptable that the restaurant had me sit around for 45 minutes. Literally 45 minutes of just sitting there and not one manager came to see if I needed anything. I saw the managers standing around pretending not to see me, they did not say a word. Real management needs to step in at some point and ask the manager on duty to assist the runners or the people preparing the food. It is pointless to order ahead if you still have to wait 45 minutes for your food. read more

The service was fair for the most part... ordered a 3 item combo which came with a Chile relleno, a beef taco, and a cheese enchilada, beans and rice, and my favorite... Mexican corn cake! Paired it with a strawberry margarita that was absolutely perfect! The food was delicious, but just slightly above average in terms of quality for a chain restaurant. Would I eat here again? Came to have the Buffett and the food is delicious and fresh. Milbia was our waitress and she was amazing. Will come back for sure.

The wait to sit down is not bad if you go before 10 am, but after there is a wait and the longest line ever for the food. The structure of the building is actually not safe. The line of people for the food blocked many things. The section where the soup and dessert place is not the best. Standing in line while people are sitting and eating is extremely awkward. The food was pretty good. We loved the tacos and the menudo. It seems that is very popular for the buffet. We unfortunately didn't get any dessert due to the line being long and not moving... once you hit the wall, not sure where you can stand after that. The drinks are cheaper :) The best part was our server, Maria. She was so sweet and attentive! She always checked in with us making sure that we were okay and satisfied. She was so nice and funny! The waitress gave descent service. Seems there was not enough server. But when we asked for the tap they gave us the receipt we when we have signed as closed. I had to ask for the final receipt to add the tip and sign for a final tab. Beware because they think you are not looking.. read more

A party of 20 had a reservation at 12:30 and seated us 45 minutes late. Why take a reservation then? They kept saying they are waiting for a table to leave. I've worked in a restaurant before. That big of a party needs to be set up and ready to go at the reservation time. We kept getting attitude from the front desk manager too. If we were late to our reservation our table would have been given away but they can be late? Do not recommend for large parties. read more
