    Lunch at El Torrito

I came back here because I received a free appetizer. The email said something like we miss you but now I realized why I don't come here

Every once in a while I wonder why I don't eat at El Torito more often, and then I come back and remember exactly why I've been a fan for so long. The food is consistently delicious, but if I'm being honest, I'm just as excited for the chips and salsa, although it's way too easy for me to fill up before the main course arrives. The team at this Ontario location always does an excellent job of making you feel welcome and well taken care of throughout the meal. Another thing I appreciate is that it's usually easy to get a table, even when other nearby restaurants have long waits. It's become one of those dependable spots where I know I can count on a great meal and great service every time.

Guys check this. Place out . El Torito is the place to be in Ontario. It's not what you think this place is the VIBE . From the speedy service the upbeat staff and the man in charge Javier for making it all look so easy and welcoming. FRIENDS +DRINKS+ WORLD CUP = AMAZING MEMORIES

First time at El Torito and honestly... it surprised me in a good way. Came here with a group of coworkers and friends and ended up spending most of the night at the bar. The vibe was actually pretty fun. They had a live DJ and a dance floor, which turned it into more of a nightlife spot than I expected. The crowd was interesting too. You had people in their 20s all the way up to their 50s, but everyone was just minding their own business and enjoying themselves. No weird vibes, no drama. Music was decent. A mix of rap, oldies, and Latin music. Nothing crazy, but enough to keep the vibe going. Food held its own. Chips and salsa paired perfectly with drinks. We ordered tacos and sopes to share and they were pretty solid. Not life changing, but definitely did the job for a night out. Shoutout to our server Rosa. She did a great job taking care of our group and made sure everything was going smoothly the whole time. Definitely appreciated, especially with a bigger party. Now here is where it lost some points. The Mexican candy shots. Way too sweet & sour and barely any alcohol for $13 a shot. I ordered 10 thinking it would kick the night up a notch... yeah, not really. Dropping $130 on what tasted more like juice than a proper shot kind of killed the mood at the end. Overall, fun spot with good vibes, decent food, and a lively crowd.

First and foremost the service was amazing by Maria A. She was always checking on our table. The food was delicious and a lot to choose from!! Unlimited mimosas!!! That was my favorite part!! The ambiance was amazing with the mariachi!!!

Amazing place. Great food. Can't beat the mimosas. Great service. The churro pancakes are bomb as fuck. Have been coming here for years.

The food met my expectation! I got the two item combo, chile relleno and barbacoa enchilada. The barbacoa was so damn good! We also received excellent service, thank you Javier! We will definitely be back next time me and my friends wants to meet up for dinner.

The buffet has a lot of variety. Tacos station, menudo, breakfast items and some seafood. The waffle and crape station. Along with other desserts Kids and adult can enjoy. Plus ending the buffet with a flan or waffle is the best.

I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants, but this location holds a special memory for me. This restaurant's hosts a Mother's Day buffet that my mother absolutely enjoyed. The food was tasty and the service great. So, it's been some time since I have been to this particular El Torito, but the memories were still vibrant in my mind and even more so since my mother"s passing. We were there celebrating my sister's graduating from college. We were promptly greeted at the door and shown to our table with little delay. The restaurant has an old-style Mexican decor of large chairs and lights that have the representation of candles. The server was prompt but a bit stiff and mechanical. All-in-all the server did an okay job. I had the combo platter: cheese enchilada, crispy chicken flautas, chicken tamale, beans and rice, and it comes with signature sweet corn cake. But let me start with the chips and salsa. For me, the meal begins with testing how tasty and good the chips and salsa are. The salsa was closer to a Pico de gallo and watery. The salsa that came with the meal was sweet, the sweetest salsa I have ever had in my life. I had a small bowl of tortilla soup. I use to make this soup and do not recall potatoes in the mix , and I served it hot not just barely hot/warm. The food was presented as "hot", but the food itself was barely warm. It was sad to feel the nostalgia slip away as a sampled the chicken flautas. They are not sweet, but the crispy flautas were acceptable, but I asked for jalapeños to have some spice and heat to the meal, the cheese enchilada was decent and, much to my surprise, hot. Somehow, they managed to find the oldest corn tortilla and was hard on the edges and difficult to chew to make the enchilada. Now, I'm a cheap drink and rarely have alcohol when I go to dine unless someone else is driving, but the mango margarita was mild, tasted like mango and absolutely devoid of alcohol - keep in mind that it says a lot from someone who cannot get past one drink without feeling sleepy. El Torito has lost that family, cultural style connection that I so Fondly remember them for. The spicy favorable food that was always better than chain style food, but tonight, I had a Luke warm sweet meal, and skip the sweet corn cake that is served as a lump of sugar cake. I left disappointed and very, very sober.

Love El Torito's brunch! My family comes here often for holidays because the food selection is great and it saves us from cooking. This time, my friends and I celebrated Galentine's here and it was perfect. Booking through inKind/OpenTable was super easy, even when I had to update the reservation last minute. Our server was fantastic and the food was phenomenal as always. Highly recommend for big groups--10/10 for service and food!

We had a great baby shower here. The buffet was exceptional. The food is delicious and well organized with staff that is on top of all the refills and assistance needed. Maria was in charge of our party and she was fantastic. She got us everything we needed and met all our requests. She was the angel of our event! The event was 3 hours which was perfect for 1.5 hr buffet and then games and visiting with friends and family.

First of all, the decorations are amazing. The first thing that caught our eyes were the hanging lit up butterflies. They really make a statement. Next to them is a tree covered in Christmas lights, and next to that is a lit up aquarium looking thing. Even when I went to the restroom, I noticed that the cement floor had sparkly gold specks and something that looked like the Milky Way. As a vegetarian, I was so happy that the menu had leaf symbols so that I could quickly tell which items I could ask for without meat. The food came out fast. It felt like we had barely ordered them and the waitresses were suddenly coming out with them. The portions were huge, like my sister ordered the grande nachos and it really was grand. It looked like an appetizer that was meant to be shared with a group of people. The food tasted good. I enjoyed my meal so much that as big as it was, I devoured the majority of it and only stopped because I was too full. Towards the end, one of the employees asked if he could take away my plate and even though I knew he wasn't our waitress and it probably wasn't his job, I asked him for boxes instead. When our waitress came to our table to ask if I wanted boxes, the other employee at that moment handed us the boxes. I thought it was nice that the other employee did that for us even though he probably wasn't expected to. Overall, we had a great experience here.

The dining area is a very clean and comfortable. Once seated, an aji verde salsa and cancha was brought to the table. The cancha is a nice touch, the corn is crispy and light. I ordered the Pollo Saltado with an extra portion of rice and a Chicha Morada. The beverage was very refreshing. The meal came out quickly. The chicken was tender and well seasoned with soy without being too salty. There was a fair amount of onions and tomatoes which were stir-fried along with the meat. The fries were freshly made with a light crispy exterior and creamy interior to soak up the saltado sauce. The aji verde salsa was on the spicy side but tasted good as an accompaniment to the dish. There was plenty of sauce from the stir fry for the extra portion of rice I ordered. I plan on ordering the Lomo Saltado next time. The staff were polite and efficient. Parking is very easy and ample. We walked into the restaurant and were greeted by their workers. There was a nice lady who seated the four of us towards the back. They had an AC machine blasting cold air in the back, and it was definitely needed on such a hot day. She was quick to give us waters, and after five minutes, she quickly came back to take our orders. Talk about efficient! She had also given us an appetizer to start our meal off: some nuts and a spicy green dip. It was a great start! We ordered the following: Yuca Fries - came out piping hot and crispy! They also paired it with a wonderful spice filled cheese dip. Platanos - also came out very hot with cripsy edges. Very sweet and ripe. Passion fruit Maracuya - tasted like passion fruit and was very refreshing! Tallarin Verde Con Lomo - The beef on top was to die for. It was juicy, savory, and tender. Absolutely fantastic! Their pesto and cheese on top of the pasta was fairly heavy. I was a bit disappointed with this dish. Tallarin Saltado De Pollo - Chicken was tender and well seasoned (though I preferred the beef). I actually liked the pasta on this dish more than the pesto - it was a bit salty, but kind of addicting to eat. You can taste the garlic and basil very well. Alfajores Box - I truly like these cookies more than the type of cookies I'd get at Porto's. These cookies are quite fragile, but absolutely fantastic. They're crumbly, sweet, and the center is perfection. For a box, you get 8 of them. Definitely worth the dime. My friends also ordered their seafood fried rice and another rice dish. I didn't taste theirs but I do have a photo! Their website states that this is the best Peruvian food in Ontario, and fortunately, I'd have to agree with them. When I come back, I'd definitely get their cookies and plantains again. Their Tallarin Saltado is also a must. Great atmosphere, clean restaurant, wonderful staff, and fantastic food!
