Our go-to for Mexican food. We have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh and fast. Our waitress was friendly and very efficient. The prices are very fair. The music is always relaxing and welcoming. Soup and salad is always consistent and hits the spot every time. Our older kids still order off the kids menu and ask to come back week after week. Tacos Vampirios are a step above tacos elsewhere and pair so well with the fresh beans and rice. Our favorite cocktail is the black diamond margarita. Have not found a better margarita. Food was tastey. Sad to say it was pretty dirty inside the dining area and in the women's restroom. When we walked in it looked like every empty table in the front dining area had not been bussed yet there was no customers sitting in there but one couple. When we tried to order some appetizers for the happy hour special we were told we couldn't order that unless we were in At the bar area. Being that we were sitting with my 11 year old nephew and blind elderly father it was impossible to sit at the bar! Going into the restroom was disgusting as there were no seat covers or toilet paper in some stalls and trash everywhere! Come on this restaurant can do better... read more

We came in for lunch today and left satisfied. Our server Noemi provided excellent service. She provided refills on our chips, salsa and drinks without us having to ask. The food was yummy. FYI... I dont sit around and make bad reviews on people . This is one of two or 3. You shouldn't be drinking and on your phone at work if you want good reviews. Don't waste your Customers time even writing this .... I had a server named danella ( I don't know how to spell the name correctly) ... I saw her on her personal cell phone multiple times ... and I've been there before and she was taking shots with a customer . I think that is very unprofessional.. I feel like contacting the better business bureau . Also your letter is a B... why is that ? I think you need to train your servers to be more professional... some of them are good servers ... the hostess are very lazy... and don't move quick enough ... and this one server is unprofessional... Some of the woman here are not professional...and seem entitled... I hope this changes because I will be calling the county .... read more

Beef in the Fajitas was hard and chewy, inedible. Waitress ignored my requests. It seemed like the servers were angry or something. Easily my worst dining experience in 25 years. The manager was very kind and accommodating. I was surprised to see a surcharge on my bill. There was no explanation. The manager explained the surcharge had something to do with an agreement they made with the State of California not to raise prices. There was no mention of the surcharge that I saw on the menu. read more

The food was great the service sucked. We went into the bar because they said there was a 30 minute wait. The hostess said we can go into the bar area if you'd like there's no waiting. So we did big mistake. The waitress acted like she didn't want to be there. She was so slow. We had to keep looking for her. Never brought our chips and salsa. Never brought our water and kept ignoring us. She finally came with our food. We said what happened to our tortillas she said oh you wanted the tortillas? Yes it does come with the meal. Ugh then we asked for the check. I had to go look for her so we could pay our bill. What a disaster. She was very rude. Two other families got tired of waiting and got up and left. We stopped by here after work for happy hour. It was a Wednesday night and we were only the third table. Our bartender came to our table to take the drink order because the waitress was on break. It took about 20 minutes to get our drinks. Then after about 40 minutes our order got taken. The food came out for each person as soon as it was done. So by the time the last person got their food the first person's food was cold. The waitress didn't bring us our food. It was the bartender and another waiter. After an hour and a half it was still empty. The upside to that was we could hear our conversation without talking loud. Very chill vibe. Food was great even if some plates got cold. We ordered the Sopas, Crispy Flautas, and mini tacos. The waitress only came by to introduce herself and to bring us a check. I asked for a soda from a runner. The restaurant was clean, tables felt clean as well. I gave the restaurant a three because service was not checking on us. We were in the back of the bar and felt forgotten even though the place was empty. read more

Had a reservation for 6:45 pm and when I attended I wasn't even served right away. You would think that when you make a reservation a week and a half before the due date, you would be considered and a table would be there for you like many other restaurants. Kind of skipping the line not waiting that is why you make a reservation right? Well for starters they decided on serving someone else left us waiting for 10 minutes until being sitted on a table. The drinks where given fast, but when we ordered our food, it took a whole hour to be given to us and not only that, the food was cold only the plate was warm, they had a mixed up gave my mom the wrong food, my mom since she was just tired of waiting wasn't going to say anything but the server came and say I think this one is yours and switch her plate, my mom did not even touch the plate that wasn't hers she was surprised that it took so long for her to be given the wrong food. All of this we where all hungry and still where very patient my dad's food was also given 8 minutes after handing my mom's plate, my 2 year old baby was desperate also hungry had to carry him and comfort him since he was also tired of just sitting there. You would think that was it right? Until the bill comes up to 120$?? For three adult plates and a tamale? A lemonade and a pepsi? Turns out they wanted to charge us for the other plate they handed us which it wasn't ours and we didn't even touch it, server seem like he got mad when we complained then proceeded on changing it. I do not know what is the deal here but worst customer service and is not the first time they try to overcharge us. (TO BE CLEAR THE RESTAURANT WAS NOT EVEN FULL TO BE TAKING THAT LONG) read more

Took my wife & daughter for Mothers Day & it was terrible. Had my reservation for 10:30am, had to wait till everyone got there & even then had to wait for about 15 minutes to be seated. The food was ok but the brunch is overpriced. Had I checked closely, I would have seen there was a surcharge added to the bill. That's how much less I would have given as a tip. The ambiance and service quality has gone downhill with Evelyn as a manager. She has made major changes to make her mark that have been ill received. She has disrespected traditions such as bell ringing for a large tip that has been a client favorite for some time, even throwing out the brass bell that my brother gave them. She also showed major disrespect for a long term, 45 years of service, employee Ernesto. She just doesn't comprehend that not everything has to change to prove she is running the place. It's has been really a long time that I have gone here at El Torito because now they have all you can eat Brunch...wow!!! We arrived at 9:30 am for our reservation for 14 people. We were celebrating the October birthdays . It was a good choice and everyone enjoyed the food . There were a variety of most all of Mexican cuisine served. You line up by the buffet tables and someone served the food on your plate by whatever dish of your choice. They had rice , beans, Chile verde, potatoes, birria, enchiladas, tamales, menudo, pozole, tacos, sope, and an array of desserts like flan , arroz con leche, cookies, brownies, churros, and even pancakes . I was so stuffed after 2 plate servings. My favorite was the Birria, the beef was so tender and so flavorful and tasty and I could have eaten a third serving but I could hardly breathe lol. My grandkids ages 11, 10, 9 , 7 and 5 raided the boxed cereal bowl and milk carton for their appetizers .... I really thought that was thoughtful of the restaurant to have this bar available for kids ... you know kids can't eat all those variety of dishes early in the morning for breakfast. At the end of our meal the staff had 5 plates of small cakes with candles for the celebrants a10 year old grandson , 7 year old granddaughter , 27 and 37 year old sons and last but not least my hubby who turned 70 years young!!! The El Torito servers sang a Spanish song and the traditional Happy Birthday song !!!! This is my local El Torito but from my experience it is not up to par with other locations. It's only really worth it if you go for haply hour. This time we ordered fish tacos & enchiladas. The tacos had barely any fish and were tiny. Enchiladas were a huge portion and probably a better bang for your buck. Brought my wife to Saturday Breakfast and I was not disappointed! We both ordered the Carne Asada and Eggs w/ bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Mary's. The carne asada was super tender and flavorful spice was just right with the relleno sauce out of bounds, eggs close to perfect couple slightly over no biggie though the food was excellent. Sunday brunch was delicious, but having Noemi as our server and keeping our glasses filled all the time made it even more delightful.

This is never my first choice when I think of Mexican food. Partially that's because it's on opposite town from me and because it's a corporate restaurant with a corporate taste. However, this is a great place to come to have a bite with friends and family. Staff has always been friendly. Wait times aren't long, as they have plenty of space to seat you and your party. Parking is easy too. You can easily find something on the menu that will entice you. Chips and salsa are endless. The salsa isn't the greatest but it is endless, so can't complain too much about it. It has a taste that seems like every ingredient is measured out to it's corporate standards. Again, not the best salsa, but does the trick. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. read more
