First time trying Indian food? You absolutely have to come here. From start to finish, we had nothing but an amazing experience. To start, we were completely overwhelmed by the friendliness of the staff. They were accommodating, informative, and overall a 10/10 when it came to service. The staff kindness was only the tip of the iceberg; the food was arguably the best meal I've had in the last year. We started with an order of samosas and they were cooked to perfection. Crispy and flaky exterior with a juicy and delicious combination of spices and vegetables on the inside. Next came our main entrees in which we ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Nirvana, and Aloo Gobi. These were accompanied by an order of Garlic Naan and cheese Naan. Each one of these dishes were out of this world. The Naan dipped in the sauce of the dishes was the perfect way to lick the plate clean without us looking too weird. We would have 100% done this if we didn't have the Naan, it was that delicious. I will be telling my friends in the area about the spectacular time we had here and will be incorporating this into my monthly date night spot. Had a great dinner at Electric Karma! The space is really nice, very spacious with a surprisingly extensive bar and cute tented patio area. The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive. For drinks we got a sangria and lemonade (non alcoholic). The sangria was a miss but the lemonade was so refreshing. Started with the chutney sampler and and samosas. Great flavors all around! All of the chutneys and dipping sauces are on the sweeter side. We got the Tree Hugger dinner for 2. I highly recommend this if you've never been because it lets your try several dishes which which includes tofu saag, chana masala, market vegetables, salad, bread, rice, and the samosas we started with. It was all wonderful. My personal favorite was the saag, I love the texture of how they made it. I also want to say if you're worried about things being spicy it was very mild. We ordered and loved the vegan mango lassi (made with coconut milk), aloo paratha, masala dosa, garlic naan, tofu nirvana curry (coconut cream and tomato base), and channa masala. So they have a 20% off if you check in on yelp, when I came to pick my order up & showed the server, he asked the owner who was telling me that it is only acceptable if you dine in, I have attached the photo of the same where it mentions to be valid for dine in as well as takeout. Well, then whats the point of the offer? While placing the order on call, I had only 2 requests , to make the dal spicy & naan thin & buttery. We ordered their:- Aloo samosa- It comes with 3 pieces of samosas. The outer shell was nice & crisp & the filling, bland. Paneer masala- Good soft paneer with thick creamy gravy. Dal tadka- Why does it taste sweet? Garlic naan- Good taste of garlic. The naan was thick & doughy, when I requested to make it thin & buttery?, well no sign of it. Parts of the naan where not fully cooked. Overall, Its shocking, the person taking my order did not once ask me for the spice level of the dishes, which is a first for me when eating at an Indian restaurant, & even when I did, they did not make it to my liking. Overall, the food is fine, but portions are pretty small for the prices - dishes average $13-15/plate. SERVICE: So. Slow. We asked to get seated in the back room with the low tables and cushions on the floor - fun, but definitely not the easiest thing to sit down and get up when wearing a dress. Although the place was pretty empty, it took a while to get someone to take our order and we were always looking around to get more water. PARKING/VENUE: They have valet for $5, but there's always some open meters along 3rd if you drive down a bit further. The valets just end up parking your car in a metered spot anyways. Place is pretty spacious - the front room is normal tables and chairs and the back room is the low couches. Wouldn't recommend or come back. read more
