So since the whole Covid19 pandemic I've need to have my 2012 Prius plug in serviced. I found Electron Automotive through a google search which lead me to their yelp page. Their 5 star rating and the positive reviews about Chris, the owner, and the customer service is what sold me. And of course the prices were good, fair and comparable if not better to other shops that i inquired about....but no one had as impeccable reviews like them. So i had to check it out for myself and Im glad I did. My moms 2007 prius 12V battery started dying out and needed to be replaced. My mom and I were always nervous that if anything ever went wrong with the car, it would be expensive cause its a hybrid. The battery was only $145 installed from Electron. Way cheaper than the dealership and i trusted them putting it in since they have the technology to do it. It also took them 30 minutes while I waited. Ive heard nightmares of people changing the battery themselves and the whole computer gets damaged. Battery came with a one year warranty for peace of mind. A couple months after, the main hybrid battery itself finally took a dump from normal wear and tear. Of course the panic set in, but Chris, the owner, gave me three options to choose from based off my budget. He went through the process and explained what is done when they rebuild these batteries. it was actually interesting cause i had no idea. So they rebuilt the hybrid battery for $999 and not a penny over. That included the diagnosis, parts, and labor. And again, a one year warranty for peace of mind. Toyota would've told me to buy a whole new battery pack which would have been almost $3000. I will definitely be taking my moms prius back to Electron every time, for any service because the customer service is A+. Im all about customer service especially when it comes to small shops. They also work fast! Chris is super nice, answers the phone every single time, and is just trustworthy. I never felt like I was getting ripped off or getting something I didn't need. I always feel that way after leaving the big brand name repair shops. Since my first visit in January and this time at the end March, their shop doubled in size. Update: I found out that the pack they sent it to me is from 2004 prius. Mine is 2010. So they ask you to send them your package which probably has one or two bad module and then send you this low quality pack. My advice: DIY guys! There are is many YouTube videos and i did it myself and it works much better than the one they sent it to me. read more

I came for an oil change and had a great experience here. The customer service here is great, the staff are very nice people & very knowledgeable when it comes to hybrid vehicles. Oh boy Where to start .first my car went in for a diagnosis and they told me something was wrong with my water pump ,so I went ahead and replace the water pump with them which set me back $450 .I drove off nothing seem wrong with the car about a week later I hear this noise coming out from the under the hood and turns out I had one of my buddies look at my car that is a expert mechanic and he said that nothing was wrong with your water pump it was your transmission this whole time so long story short because of the false diagnosis on the vehicle resulted in me losing a practically brand new car the transmission and Gave out on me about a week later very disappointed guys ‍‍ read more

My '05 Prius with 160K had me wondering if the battery was finally going to go with the battery gauge fluctuating a lot and then the dash warning lights came on. OBD code came up with P0A80. I was referred to this company by my mechanic for my Lexus hybrid. I spoke with Joe asking him to call my mechanic so he can tell him what's not working with my SUV . He did they talked and I towed my truck over 70 miles to come to him. They did their diagnosis testing on a few different things with car , they gave me a thorough check before coming up with the conclusion that I needed an inverter to get this truck up and running. The truck lost power steering the gas pedal would not work and eventually everything turned off on my vehicle . After a complete Thorough check they came up with the conclusion that they cannot fix my vehicle so I needed to get it towed again and I needed some time to figure out where to take it . I spoke to Tyler on Saturday he told me it would be ok to leave my truck there a few more days until I can figure out where to go next . I GREATLY APPRECIATED THAT BECAUSE I NEEDED TO MAKE CALLS ON MONDAY when places open up so I know who to go to next . 5 stars just aren't enough for Chris and his business. After calling multiple places for a quote on an oil change on a 3 series BMW, Chris was the most reasonable. Plus, he was able to get me in same day. When I showed up, Chris greeted me and got straight to work on my car. While changing the oil, he found a few other things going on with the car. He told me what he could and could not do. Because this is my husband's car, I wanted to make sure he knew before anything else was done. Chris was very understanding and said to have my husband call him so that they could discuss everything in detail. I came in for replacement of my brake pads and rotors on both axles, because my car (07 Honda CRV) was making really scary grinding and rattling noises for the past couple days. After requesting for quotes from multiple yelp businesses locally, I reached out to Electron via Yelp and got a response within minutes at 0700 in the morning! When I had I checked the local businesses around me, I got quoted nearly twice the price to pay than I would've have with Chris. He offered a very fair and affordable price, but I didn't realize i'd be getting a whole package of special treatment until seeing the attention, honesty, and care that this business provided on-site. They don't try to push you on anything and really do a deep and thorough examination of your car. Being a nurse, I have no knowledge whatsoever on mechanics or techs, but I do know when someone truly makes a full assessment. I knew there were kind of a lotta things wrong with my car, but they generously provided me a list of issues ranking from most urgent to least urgent to give me confidence that my car will be okay if I can't necessarily do anything about it right now. I took my wife's Toyota Prius for repair here. I visited a lot of different shops but most of them refused to work on mine because it is a Hybrid car and they have no idea on how to work with Hybrid vehicles. Some tried to fix it but couldn't find the cause of problem. Then I found this shop. Because of the shop name, I thought they probably knows how to fix hybrid cars. Chris, the owner of the shop took my car without any hesitation. Seemed like he is very confident with working on Hybrid vehicles. Turned out that he is a professor at a college and teaches automotive electrics to students!!! After hearing that I became confident too! He took out some electric scanner, hook it to the car and ran some tests. Then he quickly identified the problem. A day later, my wife's old Prius was running like new again. Too bad that I did not find this shop sooner. I could have saved a lot of time if I found him sooner. Having an Automotive Repair professor working on your car is a privilege. I was referred to Electron Automotive about 4 months back by a friend to get a routine oil change, as well as replenishing brake fluid in my car, and to check out why my car struggled to turn on sometimes. I was really impressed when I met the mechanic. He looked very professional and experienced. There were two mechanics in the shop, Chis and Kerry (resident mechanic). They were very friendly and willing to explain what was going on with my car and didn't just give me the price and tell me to come back later. I was in and out within 25 min, much less wait time than an EZ Lube or other places. Price was more than fair, I think I paid about 40-50 dollars for everything. I was VERY happy about the price!!!!!! The shop was clean, it even had a seating area with big couches and the mechanic, Chris, welcomed the other customers to help themselves to water bottles, Gatorade and snacks free of charge. I think there is a burrito place across the street if you really want food though. Overall I had an amazing experience, I left feeling like I was given a fair deal and most of all I left feeling like he actually cared about my car and its longevity in the future. I brought in my wife's Ford Flex which had been having a severe intermittent parasitic draw, which would drain the battery, and at one point shut the car down while she was driving it. No one else had been able to figure anything out, but they did! Chris and his team are truly amazing. I went in for a new Hybrid Battery and 12V Battery on my 2006 Prius. Which sounds crazy expensive, I know! ...but Chris totally hooked me up. He only charged me $1458 for parts (installation was free with purchase). I was so sad because I thought my car was totaled, after getting quotes from other places. Toyota was going to charge me $4000+ for the Hybrid Battery alone and $360 for the 12V Battery. Oh! Toyota was also going to charge me $135 to diagnose and other places as well.
