This was a favorite place when we lived in Punta Gorda more than twenty years ago. Now that were back in the area (12-15 miles away) I gladly make the trek just for the excellent experience. Food and service always been good and the prices remain reasonable. Nothing appears to have changed inside or out from our previous visits and we like that. Still clean and comfortable with a touch of nostalgia.

This is a great little diner that we found for breakfast. Lots of booths and tables and a nice atmosphere. The staff is all very friendly. The menu has a great many breakfast choices. I settled on a western omelet, home fries and toast. The food came quickly and is one of the best omelets I have ever had. Ample ingredients and cooked to perfection made for a good breakfast. I wish I could say that same about the home fries. They weren't cooked enough and were bland. Overall, good experience and great service.

Unfortunately, today Elenas was a huge disappointment. Sadly, Elena's has been going downhill for quite awhile, but today was very bad. From waiting over 30 minutes to be seated even though several booths were available, to seating us with strangers, having to share tables. Since when does Elenas have family style dining with strangers? There were several people complaining about the seating arrangements and lots of dishes were being sent back to the kitchen. When our meals finally came out after 25 minutes after ordering, the meals were cold, with no flavor. We ordered an easy breakfast: 2 eggs with potatoes, and toast and it took 25 minutes for food to be served. The drinking cups were dirty. Trash on the carpet. People in the restaurant were complaining and when I brought it up to the manager/owner she just couldn't care less. We will not be returning.

A dish I used to eat often as a kid Today is the day I decided to give Elena's South Restaurant a taste. I'm enjoying my brief window of time where I can visit new to me places that are some distance from home, and I certainly enjoyed my breakfast today. I wasn't sure what to expect, Elena's doesn't seem to have much in the way of a website. Yelp was helpful, it usually is, and from that I felt it would end up being a good meal. It was. It was busy on this Sunday morning and I had a 15 minute wait to be seated. They had a specials board out on the sidewalk and one of the items listed was Chipped Beef on Toast. Ok, I don't need a menu. I have only good memories of this dish. As soon as I was seated I had coffee and Elena's was very good about keeping my cup topped off. Someone was often walking by carrying two pots, one decaf and one not. My chipped beef on toast was ready in a reasonable amount of time and it was delicious. Looked great too. The toast part just needed more toasting. This was a good flavor dish and there was plenty to eat. Service was very good, especially those coffee refills. The price was very good too. I liked the place, fairly large, nice colors, good background music. There seemed to be a mostly elderly crowd, including me, and many of them seemed to know each other, except me. Looks like this place has regulars, and that's always a good sign.

Elana's Restaurant 6-2-24 Stopped by Elana's Restaurant for some breakfast. We heard a lot of good things about this place, and we wanted to try something different. We arrived around 8 am on a Sunday morning. They were busy but not packed. This place was large and clean with plenty of seating. As soon as we sat down our waiter Duli asked us what we wanted to drink. He brought us 2 decaf coffees right away which won him some points in my book for sure. We looked over the menu and I chose the 2 eggs sunny side up with Potatoes, Ham, and Rye toast. The wife chose 2 eggs sunny side up with Potatoes, Bacon, and Rye toast. We did not have to wait too long for our order to be delivered to our table. We got some refills on our coffee at the same time. My order was ok, but I thought the Ham was sliced a little thin and my potatoes were a little too well done for my liking. My wife thought her eggs were a little too well done for her taste but liked everything else. None of this was worth complaining to Duli about as it was just a matter of our personal preferences. Our coffee was ok, and the Rye toast was buttered and warm. Duli came by a couple times to make sure everything was ok and to refill our coffee. To me this breakfast was just average, and I was a little disappointed after hearing all the good things about this place. We wish we would have stopped for dinner, as we believe it may have been better and got a higher ranking. Our tab was around 30 dollars which we didn't think was too bad. I give this place 3 out of 5 stars. Follow me on FB for more reviews. Gulf Coast Terry

She found Leroy's Southern Kitchen & Bar in Punta Gorda, and let me tell you this place isn't a restaurant it's a whole Saturday night experience! I walked in thinking there had to be a festival, birthday party, or somebody famous in town. Nope! That's just how they roll every Saturday. Live music, people dancing, everyone smiling I started wondering if they slipped happiness into the sweet tea. Now the wife ordered the Nevermind Pressed Burger with extra cheese and black coffee steak sauce. NEVERMIND?? More like Never mind my diet! One bite then another then another and suddenly her plate looked like the dishwasher had already been there. The burger was cooked perfectly, juicy, cheesy, and that steak sauce should be illegal in at least 12 states. Meanwhile, I ordered the 10 oz. Skirt Steak with jasmine rice, carrots, green onions, and their house made Asian marinade. Listen whoever made that sauce I need the recipe, your autograph, and your retirement plan. I was this close to asking for a to go cup so I could pour it on my cereal tomorrow morning. Mama mia that steak disappeared faster than my paycheck after my wife says, Let's just stop at one more store. Then dessert happened. We saw our neighbors order the homemade Banana Nilla Pudding special. My wife looked at me with that look that says, We're getting one. Fellas you already know that's not a suggestion. Well she got one. I got exactly three bites. THREE! ‍ By the time I looked back, the jar was cleaner than the windows at a car wash. Dear Lord now I understand why my doctor keeps telling me to watch my sugar. That pudding almost had me scheduling my next A1C appointment from the table. The live band had me singing songs from back in the day don't ask which ones. Some of y'all are detectives and I'm not giving away my age! And a huge shout-out to Athena! She knew that menu like she wrote it herself. Friendly, funny, attentive she made us feel like regulars even though it was our first visit. So thank you, Uncle Leroy! Between the food, the music, the atmosphere, and my wife stealing 97% of the dessert, this was the perfect way to end an unforgettable Father's Day getaway. Five stars. Come hungry leave happy and if you order the Banana Nilla Pudding, order TWO. One for your wife and one that you hide under the table. Trust me.

It's my understanding they recently got new owners, and the menu and prices have definitely changed. We used to love the cheap mimosas - and the variety of flavors offered. I saw online that their brunch was going to be available until 1 on the weekend, but apparently that has since been scratched off on the menu and their breakfast options are only available until 11. I did enjoy the adult iced coffee ($11) and basic mimosas/bloodys are currently $7, so not too bad. My bf was not a fan of the bloody Mary. The food items increased a bit to more FL standard prices (~$14-15) and the food was still just okay. As a note- They do Not have real syrup, just the log cabin stuff. Additionally, service seemed a bit confused and details from the menu did not match exact to the till so you may want to pay attention to the bill, these may just be growing pains that will resolve over time and we will try it again in the future.

Ok! I got dressed up and walked over there. My table was ready on time; it was in the lounge area of the restaurant. They offered me the table or said I could sit at the bar. I opted to sit at the bar. The bar was almost full but people were leaving. Apparently people eat early there. The bartender was swamped but smiled and got me a glass of water. Soon I had menus. I like that they have a regular menu as well as a specials menu, including the usual cocktails and some special cocktails. I ordered the conquest, which seemed like a twist on an old fashioned. They offered bread or focaccia bread, I declined. And heads up- bread service is not included. It's an up charge. Normally I don't care but I was having dessert, not bread. I had the halibut special. It was phenomenal. One of the guys from the kitchen dropped it off and asked if I needed anything'- I replied salt. I find that I need salt often at restaurants. They brought the salt out real fast! I had a bite and determined it didn't need any more salt- it was perfectly salted! Woohoo! Fantastic. I ate my whole dish and then I savored my cocktail. The bartender wasn't much for conversation , as she was very busy, alone, covering the entire bar and drinks for the whole restaurant. She did invite me to try dessert, and mentioned a coconut cream cake that was not on the menu. I agreed to it and it was heavenly. Seemed like cheesecake icing with fluffy layers of cake and subtle coconut flakes throughout. The chocolate ice cream was weird at first but then I realized it's like almond joy/ mounds - coconut and chocolate are often paired. The espresso crumble gave it a nice crunch and there was caramel all over the plate. Wow! I took the majority of the cake home. It was a large portion and indulgent. I paid my tab and finished my drink. I was not rushed. I would go back again. It's a bit pricey. The fish special was $58. The cocktail was $17 and the dessert was $16. So one person, who did not add on the bread service, was $91. It's expensive. I would emphasize you can probably get a seat at the bar if you can't get a reservation. Also- the entrance is hard to find. It's in the parking lot and not facing the main road. I got a little lost walking there. The signage is poor. I can't imagine going there the first time in the dark. So give yourself a couple extra minutes if it's your first time going there.

Starting off with the ambience, the place is SUPER cute, decorated with a color theme I call "sherbet whimsy" with a smattering of smiling emojis. Our party of 6 was warmly greeted at the counter and immediately seated together. We started off with their delicious coffee, some hot & some cold...all excellent! The menu is fairly extensive for a breakfast joint, so the server gave us some good recommendations & said everything here is house made. Wow! OK... so we all got different menu items, and despite being warned about the HUGE portions...we could not have fathomed how large they are, but the prices do reflect how much food you're going to get! The breakfast burrito could easily feed four people. Our lone young male in the group - who might have a tapeworm based upon his ability to devour gigantic amounts of food - did his best, but could only consume about 2/3 of it. He said it was amazing, especially when paired with their delicious house made hot sauce. Two of us got two different bennie breakfasts, and raved about the hollandaise, the stretched "biscuits" & the fried chicken. Despite being smallish young ladies, they put a good dent in their meals. One of us got the outstanding corned beef hash, and thankfully generously shared with yours truly!! She could not eat even half of her meal, so I was glad to help out! :) The corned beef hash is not your standard ground-up version from a can. It is house made, with larger bits of potato, corned beef, onions & peppers. They get a perfect scald on it & serve it up with eggs & thick sliced perfectly toasted/buttered toast. My picky husband got the chorizo scramble with a side of fruit & really enjoyed it. I got the fantastic avocado toast with a side of potatoes. Everything was perfect... the thick slices of toasted wheat bread adorned with melted cheese then topped with very fresh & perfectly ripe avocado slices. I didn't prefer their scrambled eggs & should have gotten them fried instead, but it was still perfectly good, especially when dipped in their hot sauce. Thankfully my husband shared some of his fresh fruit, which was ripe & good. I dipped the pineapple into that hot sauce, which was delicious together. The place is very clean, including the bathrooms. The clientele were a menagerie from various demographics...retirees, blue collar workers, bikers, vacationers; everyone was pleasant & seemed to be enjoying their meals. This was one of the better meals we had during our trip, and definitely the best breakfast by far. It's so close to the airport, too. I'm so glad we got up early enough to be able to fit in a stop here before catching our flight home.
