I've been here a couple times before a few months back and they weren't as good. Though after trying them again now, they really have changed for the better. The staff now are so nice, they greet their customers upon entry every time I've visited, especially one of their new staff members. I've been coming regularly after a few and they finally knew recognized me and knew what I wanted to order before even speaking. On occasion there nights are really busy, though the closing staff are still on point to get through all the orders and apologize to their customers for the long wait. I have only been here once and to be honest, I don't remember this place much. What I meant is that this place is only mediocre and doesn't stand out much. The reviews are very hyped and the place does get pretty crowded. The location has horrible parking and the store itself is very small. It is not a great place to hang out here since it is very crammed. The drinks do come out slow due to high demands. I just wish they have more room for people to stand and wait for the drinks. The waiting area is the same area as the ordering area. I was expecting the tea to be really strong since this boba shop is more Chinese than Vietnamese. Since it has more of a Chinese vibe, I had to compare this shop to the ones out in San Gabriel Valley. Comparing to SGV, this place is just bleh. I had tried their Jasmine Milk Tea, Almond Milk Tea, and Hoikaido Oolong tea, all with bobas. The bobas are good. Chewy, warm, and delicious. The milk teas are good and not overly sweeten like most places. The aroma is great, but the taste was a little disappointing. They added a lot of ice and my drink was watered down and the teas were not strong at all. I do appreciate them using real tea versus powder though. Other than that, my drink was over within 5 minutes. It wasnt even long enough for me to enjoy the tea. We came here upon my cousin's recommendation. She's quite opinionated when it comes to food & drinks but has good taste so we trusted her judgment. To start, this place is part of a plaza where parking can be rough. My cousin said this is a popular chain where the line often goes out the door. Umm yeah because the place is tiny inside. I believe maximum capacity was below 30. Thankfully we didn't have to wait long and were even able to snag a table, even if just for briefly. She did mention that the Alhambra location is better, just a friendly FYI. A surprise star for how relatively cheap the drinks were! I always take into consideration the price and size of cup, and amount of boba. Flavor is of course a factor too. Has never failed me love their "golden boba" as it is always perfectly chewy and soft. I've gotten every member of my family to jump on the band wagon and more than ecstatic to see that a closer location (garden Grove) has opened near my house. Their teas are legit Taiwanese, much like the ones you get at the authentic Taiwanese cafes in 626. The simple ones are better. I often hear that the Hokkaido and others are a little on the sweeter side. I would say their prices are super competitive and on the lower end of the average boba tea prices around the area. $3.55/sm & $4.05/lg. While I can't say that this particular location is my favorite anymore, I still have to admit that Ding Tea is still among my top three favorite places to get milk tea in OC. The service here is just OK and the wait tends to be a little longer after you put in your order since they have a different system when it comes to brewing your tea. If you prefer a more authentic herbal tea taste, you'll definitely enjoy their drinks here. My go to would have to be their jasmine milk green tea and I personally find that their drinks taste best when served hot. Their cold drinks aren't bad or anything, I just think their hot milk teas are better but it definitely comes down to personal preference. There are 2 baristas working on drink orders but they are busy chatting with each other, holding a cup n keep stirring powdered milk more than 5 mins. 10 mins later not even 1 drink come out. 2 more come out to help, 5 mins later we finally get our drinks. 20 mins for 2 cups of boba ._. we came here early at 11 am today, our order is number 6, they took orders on phone and made a whole bunch of them first then kept in refrigerator while we had to wait more than 20 mins to get our drinks. Ding tea on Bolsa is the best!!! I can't count how many times I've been to this place, their milktea is so addictive. I normally order the wintermelon milktea, the drink isn't too sugary here. Plus the tea sense is strong, I think they use a different type of tea compare to other Ding Tea places. I love the crystal boba from this place, it goes well with any drink. The golden boba isn't chewy, and it gets harder after a while. I ordered to pick up a few times, they always made my orders really fast and packed them carefully. Highly recommend to lower the sugar level because the drink can be very sweet. If you don't want milktea, try the yakult menu, it is refreshing and tasty too. read more

This place is a gem in my heart. I am proud to say that I have tried every single location that Dingtea ever opens in SoCal, however, only Dingtea Bolsa stands out. Even though they share the same recipe, this location highlights itself with the consistency in the quality of drinks and customer service. Review: Mostly for the service. I've been going to this place for a very long time now because of their great drinks and usually friendly service from the staff. However, one night, I stopped by for a boba trip and the girl who took my order did not care at all whatsoever about giving me back the correct change. She missed $1.60 worth of change and I didn't care for the money, but she had the look that she was clearly tired of being there and just wanted to go home. I usually do not check my receipt because I usually pay with card, but this time I paid with cash and I couldn't believe the carelessness of this certain worker. I brought it to the attention of another staff who was working there and he apologized to me. I saw that he was informing her of her mistake yet she didn't seem to care or to bother whether or not she made the mistake. This is a bummer for a place with such good boba. It's usually my to-go but I am reluctant to go again since this incident. :( read more

I typically don't go to this location, I usually go to two other ones and I go there A LOT (that's not even an understatement). I am always satisifed with my order cause flavor is consistent and I never came up with any issues at the other Ding Tea locations. The only reason why I visited this location was because it was on the way to work and thought I should get a little pick me up (despite the fact I have a semi long commute to work and may be late). Before I explain why I gave this place two stars, I'll start with the positive. I went in yesterday around 2:20 PM (07/27/2019), which is a Friday. There was no wait and the staff were friendly. I ordered a total of five drinks, and the time they took to make the drinks didn't take that long. However, they placed all the drinks in one tiny bag and it looks like they barely fit. I didn't have time to check the drinks before I left because I was going to be late for work. On the bright side, they got the order correctly. My drink and two other drinks came out okay, however the other two drinks was not sealed properly. One of the drink had a pretty decent size slit (where it should be sealed on the rim of the cup), and it got all over my coworker's blouse when she grabbed it (given the cup is soft plastic). She got pretty upset since it's her first time trying it too. The other drink wasn't as bad, the slit was smaller, so it just spilled out a bit on the desk when my other coworker took it out of the bag (we work in a professional setting). I am not sure if it's the machine that caused this, or the fact they were trying to use less bags so by overcrowding the drinks in one bag it caused the slits. The only reason why I am writing this review is because I feel like that's an issue they could have easily prevented, especially given the fact they were not even remotely busy at all at the time I went in. All the other locations I've been to (at least four other different locations, but I frequent the two places closest to me) they do a quick test where they tilt the cups sideways to make sure there's no leaking before they put it in a bag and/ or hand you the drink. It's a simple step but every location I've been to have done that. I always thought to myself that's pretty smart. A simple task but it really does affect customer satisfaction. Other locations typically limit to three drinks in one bag and so on (I tend to order quite a few every visit). This location however, failed to do that. It's unfortunate because I don't think this is a common problem, at least I hope not. I rave about Ding Tea quite often, but I don't think I can recommend this particular location to my family or friends and I can't justify coming back. read more

Wow this place takes forever! I arrived with no one in line and two parties waiting for drinks ahead of me. It took 10 minutes to get my drink. The people in front of me had also only ordered a couple of drinks so it wasn't like some massive order in front. There is one cashier, and one barista. While I was waiting, a crowd of 10 to 15 people showed up and I felt so bad for them. On my way out I wanted to let them know they'd probably be waiting there for 30 minutes. This isn't the first time this has happen to me here at Dingtea but there's an awesome restaurant in that plaza that I eat at frequently so Dingtea is most convenient. The tea is good though. I tried the honey boba and it was ok. I won't be returning here unless I had an hour to kill with absolutely nothing to do. You really shouldn't have to wait that long for milk tea. read more

I really liked the other Ding Tea in Garden Grove, so I decided to come here since it was next to the place where I was eating dinner. There was a short wait, but nothing major. I'm giving a 2 Star for this location because they charged me wrong. They charged me for a upsize when I didn't mention anything or said anything close to "large" during my order. I was confused because my drink was almost $5 for a small. When I asked them, the on register was like "oh, you didn't want a large?" Of course I didn't, nor said anything close to ordering a large. He said okay, I'll refund 50 cents. When I checked the menu again, an upsize cost 55 cents. I could care less about the upsize charge, but if you're going to charge your customers for a large automatically, then why offer a small size? There are plenty of boba places that offer one size with add-ins with one cost, maybe Ding Tea can consider this so every customer will have to purchase a large. This boba place offers just mediocre drinks that are not worth the price point. I used to go here often before I discovered different boba places that are worth the money. The service is fast and the workers are helpful but I would only recommend this place if you're nearby. I don't think there is a difference with golden or the regular black boba but the texture is great! Soft and chewy. I've been a fan of Dingtea Bolsa for years but recently I feel like their drink and service quality are going down. I ordered a medium oolong milktea less sweet and half ice. My cup is not even full and I guess bc I ordered it less sweet so they put lots more creamer in. It doesn't have oolong tea taste at all. Comparing to other boba places, they always fill the cup full even if I order it with no ice. This was my favorite store around the area since they first opened. I have been here for more than a hundred times. Their oolong milk tea with crystal boba is really good! However, for my past 10 visits or so, their drink turnaround time is really really slow. I gave them one chance to another but yesterday was the last straw. It was a Tuesday evening, and they were not even crowded. I came in and ordered my usual drink--just one drink and I waited for 25 minutes. Note that this was not the first time. I see orders that came in after me to be given out first. What I figured they did is they tried to make a batch of similar drink instead of making the drinks in the order placed. It was really frustrating to wait for one drink for 25-30mins. I really love their drinks, but the service is not really cutting it. I don't feel that my time is being respected here and I won't be coming back for a long time, until they have a better system in place. read more
