I would have given four stars were it not for the unprofessional and offensive conduct of the Manager (Sergio). We had confirmed reservations for a party of two for their Buffett breakfast. When we arrived, Sergio greeted us at the door and upon entering, he immediately brought us over to sit on high bar stools at the bar. We politely informed Sergio that we preferred sitting at a table. The place was virtually empty, with nearly all tables empty. Rather than immediately accommodating us by giving us a table, he looked at my reservation and said I did not explicitly ask for a table in my reservation. WTF dude, are you kidding me! So, he told us to go back outside the restaurant while he looks for options. He told us all the other tables were being held for large parties. When we left an hour later, all the tables were still empty. In a condescending manner, he explained to me that there was no expectation of getting a table since I did not ask for one. Well Sergio, I'm asking for one now..! He roll his eyes and began to gaslight us about how to make reservations. We are not thin-skinned by any means, by Sergio was really offensive. My wife complained to him afterwards and he just turned his back to her and said he wasn't interested in hearing what she said. Sergio needs to go. Lots of complaints about him on Yelp. It's sad because the wait staff and the Chef were great, and apologized profusely for Sergio's behavior. The restaurant itself is clean, modern, and very pleasing. The Buffett is not expansive, but certainly good enough for us. We won't be coming back to Eleven if Sergio is still the Manager. He is directly responsible for losing our business! read more

1/14/22- It's a nice cozy spot in the corner of Foodland Farms Ala Moana. Making reservations on Open Table was very easy and convenient. They check ID and vaccination card at the entrance before you enter. The space is beautiful, open and clean. When we arrived a little after 4pm on Friday, there were a few seated at the bar and about 2 pairs seated on the tables along the wall. We were seated near the entrance and shortly after a couple was seated right next to us. I wished they had at least sat them one table away seeing as how only 2 of the tables were occupied. The customer service is friendly and attentive. We ordered the ahi tartare and salmon toast. I really wished the ahi tartare had sushi rice instead of those rice cracker things. I honestly don't think the rice cracker pairs well. The salmon toast was delicious though. That bread was yummy and the coriander cream cheese was full of flavor. I'd definitely get that one again. They are a whiskey bar and had a nice selection to choose from. My old fashioned made with Tullamore Dew was perfect! Overall I'd return to try more drink selections and get that salmon toast again. read more

There's a hostess stand outside of the enclosed bar area & although we were about 10 minutes early for our reservation, we were seated immediately. Our wait for someone to come and give us menus took a few minutes longer than we would have liked, but after that, we were tended to in a timely manner. I started with a Boulevardier, which I have recently gotten into and enjoyed it! My BF had the Vieux Carre, which I had a taste of. It was good, but I'm not sure if I would get it myself. For food, we started off with the popcorn. It was pretty basic, but tasted good. I feel like it was microwave popcorn though. For the small plates, we got the shrimp toast, ahi tartare and the prosciutto and asparagus toast. Everything was delicious! I especially like the shrimp, which reminded me of pho broth. For my second round, since I like Negronis, I tried the Negroni Bianco, which was nice, but I prefer the Boulevardier! I can't remember what my BF ordered, but I know it was clear! The ribs were so delicious; salmon was juicy and soft; chicken was charred with a great taste and texture and the roast beef was a little chewy. They also had sides that was also excellent. The fried rice and watermelon with nalo greens was really tasty. The dessert was given to us in a small plate and also delicious. They also had a thick clam chowder soup and a super tasty sweet bread French toast. They also give you coffee tea or a soft drink that comes with the meal. The service was good and they were attentive to our needs. I would recommend this hidden gem to everyone who appreciates quality and well prepared food. It's not the run of the mill buffet. My friends and I walked in on a Saturday night in search of some post dinner cocktails. We decided to check out Eleven off of a friend's recommendation and we were so glad we did. The drinks were well made and reasonably priced (especially for the area), service was warm and welcoming, and the vibes were good. Great for date night or drinks with friends! We checked in with the doorman outside the bar and after a few minutes the host welcomed us in with a complimentary aperitif. We didn't try any food but the spirit menu had a wide selection and had a cute diagram showing different ways to order your drinks (neat, smoked, old fashioned, etc.) for those who may be new to the whiskey game. Our order consisted of several rounds including: * Smoked Mezcal Margarita * Basil Hayden Rye Old Fashioned * Horse's Neck (Bentwing Brandy) We loved all of our drinks but the star of the show was definitely the presentation of the smoked drinks. You haven't, but there's space. You head inside towards the bar. It's dimly lit, but still comfortable. The noise from the store fades but there's music and chatter. It's comfortable. You take a seat and scan the menu before peeking over at tables around you to see what they've ordered. You're not much of a whiskey person, so you get a pandanimal. It's sweet, but not like dessert. You order a side of house chips to go alongside it. Fantastic. It's salty, crispy, and tangy with its dipping sauce. Perfect combo for a stronger drink. So you order the Kakaako Mule. Phew. Pros: Easy parking with it located in the Foodland Farms at Ala Moana. We took a chance on the Friday to go without a reservation and lucked out that it was pretty empty at 7. Modern with a warm ambiance. Had our choice of seating, so sat at the bar and received quick, friendly service (throughout our entire time). Ordered the French Martini (very fruity) and the Hay Day (soooo good and perfectly balanced...we had 3 of them ). The latter also comes with some flair when brought to you. For food, had their charred tako leg (tender with the garnishes adding to the flavor) which was the special and the hamachi carpaccio (quality piece of fish). Cons: Be ready to spend. Eleven leans towards the pricier side, especially for just small plates. For us, it was probably the market price hamachi that pushed us over $110 (not including tip) for 4 drinks and 2 small plates, of which there isn't a vast menu to choose from. I was taken aback when I saw the check. Thank goodness we both had a small dinner before coming or we would have left hungry and poorer. The food selection and taste was good the wait staff was all nice although we did need to flag them down several times for refills etc... I think that's because they are serving and bussing the tables. The big knock for my whole family was the temperature of the food. Many items were lukewarm at best. I saw the cook staff several times and didn't see them checking temperature which in this style buffet would seem mandatory to me. No one wants to go home sick after eating brunch. read more

I had an amazing experience after winning the Valentine's Day experience giveaway. I tried 5 small plates and two cocktails, and they even gave me a bouquet of roses. I am glad that my valentine this year was them because I will take the delicious food over any human trash in this universe. The hamachi carpaccio was a standout to me and the hamachi tasted so fresh. I loved the bacon candy and how it was tender yet chewy in all the right places. The brioche was great and the sake seared salmon was delicious. Scallops were fat and tender, just how I like them. The two drinks were free spirit because I do not drink alcohol, but they also mysteriously tasted like it had alcohol in it (without the hangover of course). Spend your money somewhere else nicer and more professional and not in a supermarket. Came here a couple times for late night drinks. The service at night was much better i guess it was more intimate than the weekend brunch buffet. The weekend brunch buffet had a great food selection and was a great deal. They had pretty good prime rib. Only thing i didn't like was the service during weekend brunch. None. Took our one drink order. Never asked if we wanted another drink. Also no water our entire meal. You would think the staff can be more attentive given they are not serving anything else. And there were so many wait staff for a small space, yet ignore two people in the corner. We went for the Valentine's Day brunch special. For the price it was a good deal for prime rib which I don't care for but my boyfriend liked it. I was excited about the eggs Benedict but it was disappointing. The bread was extremely dry and the salmon was warm very little hollandaise sauce. I was hoping they would have some other protein besides fish. I wish they had scrambled eggs to offset all the carbs. Our waitress was non existent. We made a reservation for a special birthday brunch for 12 people over two weeks in advance, only to arrive and find out they had no record of it. Despite supposedly sending a confirmation, we received nothing. When we spoke to the manager, Sergio R., he danced around the issue without taking responsibility, all while gaslighting us in the process. 4 of us physically showed up to the restaurant and spoke to the manager. Allegedly, he offered 2 separated tables of 6 over the initial phone call and claimed that we said "no" to that offer because it was for a birthday and that we did not want to split the party. This was false. When we called him out on that, he went back on his word and had a different story. At the end of the day, all we wanted was accountability so that this unfortunate situation would not repeat itself to another party, large or small. Sergio reluctantly took the blame for his staff's mishandling of the reservation and stated he's "apologized" multiple times all while saying the situation has been "exhausting talking in circles." An empty and gaslight apology was what we received. It was a disappointing and frustrating experience that tarnished what was supposed to be a celebratory occasion. Luckily for us, we were able to make a last minute reservation at a different restaurant that was much more accommodating. Safe to say that we will never be dining with Eleven again due to their lack of customer service, poor management, and compassion for their potential paying customers. read more

Oh how disappointed i was to figure out how little to no experience they had in customer service. We had made reservations for a large party a few weeks prior, but apparently they didn't have it placed in at all. We spoke to the manager Sergio Rodriguez, and he continuously made excuses and never apologized for the mistake on their part. They did not mention we were supposed to receive a confirmation text/email when we made the reservation and blamed us saying we should have gotten one. When we tried to give Sergio feedback on the problem to make sure it doesn't happen again, he seemed to brush it off and kept going back in circles about receiving a text/email. Pretty cool spot! Located within foodland, you can either enter through foodland or on the piikoi side of the building. There is one bathroom inside. We walked in at 9pm on a Friday and had no issues getting a table. The place was about 70% full. The drinks are about $14-16 a piece. I appreciated the custom ice cubes with the 11 engraved on them, it reminded me of stranger things. The drinks are strong and well crafted. We didn't have the food so I can't comment on that, but I've heard good things from friends. read more

Would you be surprised if I told you your new spot to grab artisanal cocktails and small bites with friends was in a grocery store? But trust me, Eleven in Ala Moana's Foodland is a classy, upscale, BEAUTIFUL little cocktail bar that's definitely worth checking out. Whiskey lovers - this place is especially for you (and I love the 11 carved on the ice). But there's a drink for everyone on their extensive menu (even excellent mocktails)! We got Sake Cured Salmon, Prosciutto Asparagus, Lacinato Kale, Za'atar Roasted Beets, Ho Farms Tomato, Ahi Tartare, Butter Poached Shrimp, Bacon Fat Popcorn, Sweet Symphony ("Old Fashioned" Cream Puffs, Fromage Panna Cotta, Mocha Bon Bons), Kaka'ako Mule, Pandanimal, 400 Rabbits, Basil Gimlet Redux, and Old Fashioned. Yes -- we ordered a lot! Keep in mind that all of their small plates are tartines (basically like elevated toast) so don't come expecting a hearty meal. My personal favorites were the prosciutto asparagus and Ho Farms tomato. The asparagus one came on a toasted brioche, with a silky soft egg and boursin cheese. The tomato one came with applewood smoked bacon, tomato jam, and tobacco Worcestershire aioli on ciabatta. Make sure you also get the bacon fat popcorn or house fried potato chips with garlic salt. And don't miss out on the Sweet Symphony dessert (especially that amazing fromage panna cotta)! I'm actually not a drinker, but I love me a good mocktail! I got the Kaka'ako Mule (without its kick) and a No-Party Pandanimal (I just came up with that, those aren't their actual names so don't order them like that LOL). They were SUPER good. The Kaka'ako Mule comes with fresh cantaloupe and pineapple juice, ginger beer, and a hint of serrano chili (and typically buffalo trace wheatley vodka). The Pandanimal comes with a housemade pandan and coconut elixiard, giffard crème de cacao, giffard orgeat, and fresh pineapple juice (and typically avuá amburana cachaça & flor de caña 4-year rum). I loved the cantaloupe and pineapple flavors that add a fruity element to liven up a typically traditional Mule (and hint of spice from the chili!). The Pandanimal was definitely my favorite though because it was creamy, fruity, and coconutty - and almost had a Melona-like quality to it. But I must say the most unique drink I tried was my friend's 400 Rabbits. Eleven's signature small-batched cocktail features tequila Fortaleza yellow chartreuse, cacao liqueur, fresh orange and lime juices, rooibos tea, and - get this - goats milk. But it's completely clear! They actually distill the goat's milk so the creamy flavor notes remain but the actual drink looks like regular tequila - it blows my mind. The interior design of this new space is what ultimately sold me on booking a reservation. I came for the bespoke design, but left very satisfied from the overall experience. I really wasn't sure how the concept of Eleven would work as an offshoot of the Foodland family of stores but I was very impressed by the attention to detail and thought put forth into this bar. I made reservations for my friend and I on the opentable app for a Saturday night. Entry is on the outside near the makai side of Foodland Ala Moana. There was a doorman outside checking people in first before going inside, Youll need to show your vaccination and ID info before being seated. For the day we reserved we got seated at the bar and received amazing service from our bartender Tim the entire time. We were treated to a very diverse menu of drinks and being a big whiskey fan I was delighted to see their large assortment from other parts of the globe. Im currently in love with Japanese whiskys and asked our bartender to recommend a few options that are close to the taste I love. I was pleased with the two recommended varieties chosen for me. The drinks were well made and one of the cool things I enjoyed was watching them put everything together. They use a brass ice stamp with the 11 logo to brand their drinks. That level of detail, in my opinion really elevates the whole experience you receive without it feeling too bougie and intimidating. We also ordered a few small plates to try out the food as well which was also very good and went well with our drinks. The bill between me and my friend came out reasonably priced for everything we ordered. Overall very happy with the warm welcoming hospitality received here on my first visit. 10/10 if you're looking for a chill spot for date or spend some time with friends. My friend and I had brunch at Eleven last Sunday. We were pleasantly surprised. I am glad we had a 9am reservation as the trays were still full. The different food choices were good. Lots is bakery goods to choose from, not your usual salads which we enjoyed, fresh fruit sweet and liked the melon and berry choices. There was French toast, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, fried rice, broccoli, ham, and sausage. Loved the corn chowder. Also, the chicken and beef dishes were tasty. The dessert tray had several choices, but only okay. The broccoli stems were tough and I would have loved to see eggs Benedict and mini lox and bagels on the menu. From the rather large drink menu they didn't have the one my husband picked so that was a bummer. My martini was refreshing but not strong. I like my martinis to have a bigger kick so this tasted more like a cocktail in a martini glass but I did appreciate that it wasn't overly sweet. If you like salt and vinegar flavor you will like the chips-I did not enjoy the flavor because it was overpowering. We also had the toast, prosciutto, asparagus and egg dish. That was really good. So I would go again and try some different apps and a different drink and maybe enjoy it a little more. Service and ambiance were great. We tried the prosciutto, tomato, salmon and kale toasts. My favorite surprisingly was the kale: it was bursting with so many flavors, all complimenting each other, especially the truffle and lemon. The prosciutto toast was my second favorite. The creamy herb cheese with the runny egg and salty ham was a perfect balance of flavors. The tomato toast was very tomato forward, I wish it was maybe warm or the tomatoes were cooked. The two drinks I had were opposite but both delicious.
