The drain outside my house was clogged. For $79, the plumber cleaned some roots through the cleanout, which is very reasonable. The plumber then stopped and said he would recommend a camera check-up to see the rest of the pipe. Another crew member, who was a manager, came and stuck a camera inside the drain. The manager said the pipe had a crack and needed to be repaired. He quoted me about $5000 to do the job with a city permit. I decided it was too much to handle the root issue. I will try some root killers first. So $79 is the bait to get a $5000 business. The crew and the managers are very courteous throughout the process, though. So I gave them a 4 star. read more

Looks like this company stuck my bad review at the bottom of the stack. This company came to put in a new water heater. The first one they gave us didn't work but they did finally put one in that works but this wasn't really the problem The new water heater was shorter than the old one, which left a gap between the pipe and and the ceiling. All they had to do was use a longer pipe but they didn't. Gas was leaking into our house and could have killed us. When I called them back I was angry and wanted to complete the job but they refused. So I spend money again to have a real plumber come by and just put a long metal pipe that would allow the gas to go to the attic where it is safe. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! read more

Dishonest business. We had a similar experience as other review from "Changgeng L." The technician brought in a small device, "fixed" the kitchen drain clogging issue and charged us $69. After 2 days of light use, the kitchen drain clogged again. I asked the customer service if it's under warranty. She said "yes" and scheduled another visit. Then the technician came onsite and charged me $69 again. Yes, we paid. I asked the customer service why it still charged me if it's under warranty. But she answered it's not warranted, then she ignored all my following messages. Please note that the ONLY reason we would ask the technician from the same company (who didn't fix our problem) was the "warranty". The technician said this issue would come up and asked us to pay $1800 to fix. No, please use a more professional device rather than a small snake at the first place, before asking your customer to pay something unreasonable. read more

I called Elite Rooter in the morning for a kitchen sink drain clog in an apartment building. I told them that snaking from the kitchen may not be enough, and that they may have to go on the roof for snaking. They quoted $79.00 for coming to unclog from the apartment, saying that it may be more if they had to go on the roof. We arrange that they would come today between 2:00 and 4pm. At 3:00pm I get a call saying that they were very busy today, that their price for coming was not $380.00, and they would not go on the roof under any circumstances. These people are not serious, and I hope that these bad practices will make them go out of business. read more

What it started to be, we thought, was a simple toilet drain cleaning. After my husband's efforts of using the equipment he has didn't work, we knew it was time to call a plumber. We called Elite Rooter not knowing them but reading some of the previous reviews. They were here in a few hours and walked us through the entire process using their video camera and then, as the job progressed, showing us the pipes and the many roots that were clogging the entire line. After assuring us that all the other lines in the house were clean, Steven Johnson went through the process of taking the toilet, pipes and part of the floor apart to get down to the "root" of the problem...he installed new pipes, done correctly this time, and built up the concrete which had disintegrated, re-laid the tile (we had several pieces from a remodel) and replaced the toilet. Our backyard drain clogged and I called Elite rooter. They put out coupon saying will unclog one drain for $59 but when the plumber came, that is not applicable to this particular drain. first red flag. Then He used typical trick to increase the cost of the job.. Said this drain unclogging looks very tough and takes pictures, talks to some one and then says i will give a try with cable unclogger and costs $289. negotiated it to $175 and he starts the job and says the cable jammed and it costs $2800 to break the tiles and pull the cable out or cut the cable and leave it in the drain. next trick to increase the cost of the job. I supervised him and asked him to keep pulling the cable as you run the machine. It came out so easily but this fraudster plumbing company tried to cheat me big time. He did not want to unclogg the drain with the cable which would do the job. he did a complete acting job to perfection to raise the bill by 1000's of $s. Luckily I could sense his game plan and decided to cut the loss and paid him 175 and sent him out. These guys are crooks. I am surprised they have 4 start ratings! read more

David H is simply amazing. The first time I called the company for a drain by the side of our house due to downstairs bathroom was clogged. Dave was able to find out the problem came from the main pipe out by the street and should have been fixed by our homeowner association. I've had to call for sneaking services every other year for the last ten years and he was the one who NAILED the root issue. Our HOA finally fixed the main drain and I expect my drain will be trouble free for the next many years. I had to call David again this past week due to kitchen drain clog. He was nice enough to give me next day time estimate by phone messages. Both him and me got busy the next day so we both decided to move to the next day. I got in touch and he was citing a timeframe in the afternoon though he was beyond the end of the window by about half an hour. He agreed to start performing the work in my backyard before I was able to get back home. He appeared very professional and explained things in detail. The drain was cleared out in less than 30 minutes and he explained the hypo wash to not have to clog pipes frequently again. The most amazing things is that he decided to do the work FOR FREE due to schedule difficulties. To be honest I did not expect that at all. He was keeping good communication throughout, therefore the rescheduling wasn't a big issue at all. I am impressed by the ethics of this company and Dave. Very rarely people do things for free just because they caused small inconvenience to their customers. This shows they truly value their customer experience and they are in for the long term relationship with their clients. Most people don't schedule their need for a plumber. Had a slow kitchen sink and determined that it was beyond my skill level. Used Yelp to find someone and Yelp recommended their new "find a plumber" quoting system. One plumber kindly responded that they were booked up. One sent me four form letters, and Elite Rooter sent me their $69 special and said they could schedule at my convenience. I told them my schedule and gave my phone number. They gave a time (3-5pm same day) and said they would call me when they were on the way. I confirmed that I would have someone at the house at that time. It has been ten days. My mother-in-law is upset with me. She hasn't left the house. She is still waiting for Elite Rooter. She lights a candle during the hours of 3-5 pm every day. I caught her pacing in the morning at 3-5, and she told me maybe they had meant AM. Alas, I had to explain to her that I didn't think Elite Rooter would be showing up. She is from the Old Country. I had a slow drain issue in my kitchen and decided to ask Elite Rooter team to take a look at it. Two techs came and suggested snaking out the drain from the cleanout side. They tried snaking out the drain few times with no success. Their understanding was that there is a clog somewhere about 10-15 ft deep in the drain pipe. Finally when they gave up snaking out from the cleanout, they suggested going to the next step which is using a hydro jet. They said that will fix the problem and can break up any clog in there. The price is abot $800. I am happy that I did not accept it and wanted to think more about it. Before they leave, they tried snaking out from the sink side and it opened the clog a little bit. My problem with their service is that given the shape and configuration of the pipe, anyone could easily guess that the clog is somewhere between the sink and cleaout. Becasue after they left and I started working on it by myself, I found it quite obvious that the clog cannot be after the cleanout. Anytime I ran water through the cleanout, it ran smoothly but when I ran it through sink it got stuck. Easy problem but Elite Rooter techs offered an expensive solution. Long story short, I was able to unclog the pipe using a manual auger and it runs smoothly now. Last note; during my research I found hydro jet service for $400 dollars. I did not use it becuase I was able to fix the problem myself but it was very surprising that Elite Rooter's price was significantly higher. read more

Had drain pipe clog - called Elite Rooter as they had helped previously also. The person who came first was great, helped with details and explained issue and that he woould need to bring in another guy with camera to see where blockage was in pipe....The guy with camera setup though good on first day of cleanup where he recomended hydro jeeting initially else dig up the drain if blcok is found next day. He became rude the day he came up to check on drain post hydro jet...he saw a block in pipe due to tree roots and suggested to dig up to clean drain but never wanted to share the quote he was verbally quoting - when i asked give me a day he became more argumentative and starting talking rubbish - he didnt even bother to close the discussion in amicable way and when i said let me see the quote and check with comparable quotes or ask his office who sent him for discounts he said i am the boss on field what will office do......very bad exp and will never use elite rooter again read more

I had a plumbing backup that flooded a bathroom and two bedrooms. I called upon Elite to come in and check it out. They came in, ripped out my sink, took out the tub, some drywall, flooring from the bathroom and two bedrooms and left me hanging! No calls, or call backs from me calling! No info as to what I should do next! My insurance company asked for a plumbers report and upon leaving numerous messages (nothing). Weeks have gone by with my bathroom and two bedrooms in disarray! Basic drain clog of hair in the bathtub turned out to require toilet removal in a new part of the house, tried roof snaking, and finally recommended a scoping of the line. I was given a quote of over $4000 to repair my main clean out to the street which included a permit from the city. They wouldn't touch my bathtub at all worried about breaking something. Nothing was needed except for a snake in the bathtub done, which was accomplished in 15 minutes by SAS Plumbing. The City inspector came out and confirmed there were no main drain problems from house to street and everything was functioning as intended. Beware!!!! read more
