Slow service from bartenders despite few patrons. Almost seemed a little arrogant and like why are you here bothering me.

Do NOT drink the water here. Bleach/chlorine taste. They did find me a bottle of water since I'm trying to avoid sodas, diet or otherwise. Waited 30 minutes for a patty melt. Only had 30 minutes total which then made me late for my appointment. Took it to go. This was a once only trip. read more

Great place for breakfast. I go with my family almost every weekend. The service can be a little slow during the peak business hours in the mornings on weekends, but aside from that it's a fantastic place. The menu has so many options that there's something for everyone, whether it's just a bowl of fruit or chicken fried steak with eggs and gravy. If price is a concern, consider checking out the early bird specials to save a little extra. read more

Always great, but have never had lunch there, just breakfast, and that's for over 40 years. They've been at 3 locations (I think) that I've been at, and the place is a locals, surfer, hippie, beach people type of place. I love the breakfast, and you can ask for anything your mind can think of and they'll fix it. Not the best coffee, but who cares, your not spending $4 a cup either, the place is fab. Apparently this is the place where the locals really go because they are not welcoming to new customers. Upon walking in there are no signs to notify you if you're suppose to be wait to be seated or take the first available seat. While I was holding the door open to let my friend in the cashier yelled at me to close the door shut. Thankfully an employee told us we were to sit at the first available seat. Service at the table was quick and polite. Our server was very attentive and the food came out quickly. The food was mediocre probably because my first impression was sour. When it came time checkout with the cashier, there was an individual standing outside holding the door open while holding a conversation with an individual inside. The cashier did not say anything to that individual. Which made me feel as I was racially discriminated. Will not be returning but there are plenty of locals that will. read more

My mother and sister and I have gone every weekend for 6 years. We know the staff by name, they know us by name. We even got a Christmas card. I order a pats, every weekend. And I'm never disappointed. Great food, great prices. A staple at the beaches. Get there early on weekends because there WILL be a wait. The wait line is usually out the door on weekends. It's seat yourself. Service is fast and friendly. There's a reason we go every weekend. Definitely worth it. If you live at the beach, you haven't lived until you've gone to Ellen's. read more

Uninspired avocado toast for $6.25. Very little guacamole on the toast and nothing else added to it. About like the amount you would spread butter on toast. Charged for two coffees we never ordered and my wife had stomach issues after the meal. I gave two stars and not one because I feel like it may have just been a bad day for them. read more

First things first: customer service was below average. When you walk in the door there is no welcome and when you pay the lady at the door is very brash. We sat ourselves quickly and someone came over to grab our drink order. Then 5 minutes later someone else came to take our order. Then we waited about 20 minutes for our food to arrive. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to food. But I watched as the people in the kitchen sat food up on the pickup for the waiters to deliver. There were at least 10 plates waiting at any time. I scanned the room to see that only a select few people actually had food at their table. Many other people that came in after us received their food before us, but I do understand other factors could have caused that. When our food arrived my hash-browns and sandwich were both cold, my boyfriends avocado was hard as a rock from being not ripe enough. The food clearly sat out long enough for it to become cold. I doused the hash-browns in ketchup and ate my food. I think maybe the system they had just wasn't working correctly. Side note: the bus boys were very efficient and cleared plates from our table after we had set them to the side. Other than that, unfortunately we will not be returning. read more

Love Ellen's Kitchen, the new location is great. Much cleaner! I have only been to the new spot twice with my hubs and the server remembered what we ordered from our initial visit. Great customer service. I've had the crabmeat omelet which was so good! I've also had eggs Benedict, pancakes, and the county fried steak. Grilled biscuits are yum. Prices are great, the wait is usually be reasonable if you get there before 10 for breakfast. Dogs are allowed outside, major plus. The best thing about Ellen's is they have awesome hash browns!! I don't like home fries/potatoes, just good ole hash browns! We will be going to Ellen's..weekly! :) read more

This restaurant has moved up and down the beaches for many years now. I remember going here when I was a very small child. Back in the mid 60's when it was located in Silver's Drugstore on the corner of 1st street and atlantic blvd in Neptune Beach. Me and my father would stop in there almost every morning and eat breakfast with all of the southern bell guys a couple of cops and every city worker that was going in early. We all would sit here and talk about everything going on around the beaches. Including what some of us hooligans and youngsters were up to last night. Sometimes I even got in trouble cause Dad found out somethings that he wasn't suppose to. Ok some much for the history lesson. The food here is your normal breakfast n lunch that you would get at home or in a diner. Eggs done a half a dozen ways and toast of many types. You can even get some mighty tasty waffles and some big as your head pancakes. All of the food is really tasty and has been for going on 54 years now. It's a great place to meet for breakfast. Always greeted with a smile and service is usually spot on. Food is good and a great beach, friendly vibe. I would give a 5 but at the end our waitress came over with a hand held credit card tablet. Instead of handing me the tablet for me to put in my tip she asked me how much I would like to tip. I usually tip over 20% but was thrown off by this and a little uncomfortable so she got a straight 20%. This is very off putting. I suggest in the future they hand it to the Patron to put in there tip privately. read more

Get to this place before 9am for the early bird specials. They're well worth it. Nice diner feel, good food and the service is good. We went at 8:30 and the place was pretty busy so keep that in mind. We will definitely be back. read more

Friends at Home Depot told me to try, ordered omelet, not real eggs, never heard of not using teal eggs, waitress told me they do offer eggbeaters or whatever they were, and told me to tell them to use real eggs, plenty of other places, never heard of such a thing. read more

There are plenty of breakfast places at the Beaches, some upscale, some bare bones and some in the middle. Don't go to Ellen's Kitchen for the atmosphere (The only atmosphere there is what you are breathing) go there for the good food at fair prices. I actually remember the original Ellen's, at Silvers Drug Store. 30 years later, the prices are higher, but the food is just as good. The service is a little slow, so don't go there if you are in a big hurry (just grab a Hardee's BE&C biscuit instead) but it is a great place to sit, chat with your companions and have a tasty, filling breakfast. read more

Expect long lines during the weekend but what's nice is that the turnaround time is so fast you don't even have to wait that long in line. It's first come first serve basis. Their food is amazing, as well as it's very affordable. People are nice and friendly and the service is fast. Definitely a go to breakfast/brunch place right by the beach. read more

We've been a few times and really enjoy the food. Most of the waitresses are very nice but you can certainly be left wanting for things as they don't check in often. The girl at the front is always so rude..she has to be family or something because there's no way she would still have a job in customer service if not. This morning I heard someone ask her if there was a waiting list and she responded (with an attitude) 'see the sign on the door- first come first served' and that's it. And when you pay she just asks 'do you want to leave a tip on the card?' But that's it. Like. Dang girl at least be nice. I hope you aren't gettin a share of that tip. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I support local places. Moved here from Milwaukee. My second time here, brought my new girlfriend. We weren't greeted, finally sat ourselves. Cool, I won't judge you for that. We figured out early on it's pretty much little service. When they finally got around to us, we ordered about $35 worth of breakfast. I can say honestly, it was all terrible. Tasted like cheap, underwhelming food. My girl actually spit out her breakfast burrito and the egg seemed to have a water or clear color coming out if it. I had Belgian waffles that tasted like frozen food, and home fries with no flavor and lacking texture. Thankfully I ordered a side egg and even though it pasted plain, it was pretty much the only thing I ate. We packed up halfway through the meal and left to find anything open nearby. Won't be back. I miss the Original Pancake House (Milwaukee location) as well as other local spots that use quality ingredients and cook with passion and some level of decent service. I had to chase down a server to get the check. Sorry you are local but terrible. read more

I'm giving this 2 stars because of the service. This was our first time there. The food was good. However, our server did not greet us until 10 minutes after we sat down. My husband had just said "Let's go" when she walked over. She didn't provide my son with silverware, I had to take some from the empty table beside us. She seemed very "hurried" and passed us a few times without asking if we were ok. She was also complaining about the other employees. Our meals came to us pretty timely and was delivered by a very nice man. I flagged our server down one time to ask for ketchup and she left but never came back. I had to ask for a bottle from the people eating next to us. Lastly, she billed us incorrectly. It was just me, my husband and our 10 yr old. I had the Rueben sandwich, my husband had the pats platter and I asked her to bring my son a small side of biscuits & gravy and one pancake. She charged us for 4 coffees instead of 2, and she charged the full price for 3 pancakes and a full order of biscuits and gravy. The bill was $47 for the three of us. it was so busy and she was hard to get ahold of so we just paid the bill without fighting it. In case the owners of Ellens read the Yelp reviews and would like to know which server it was, she was in her late 20's and wears braces. We won't be back. read more

I've been wanting to go to this place for a while now. We arrived and you can sit anywhere you would like. Its pretty loud no music to make the place more elegant. The service is not great, it's just okay, definitely could work on the hospitality. We placed the order at 11:35am and we got our food at 11:50. The food tasted pretty good.. read more

This place is very basic. Nothing seasoned. You can taste the canned food items. The grits were terrible, breakfast burrito was mediocre at best, biscuits are dry and nothing special, hash browns were undercooked and super bland, fruit not cleaned well.. Our whole group agreed our drinks (water) were the best thing we had. Two stars because maybe you're hungover or 90yrs old and love this food! read more

Walked in to try this place for the first time today and walked out almost immediately. First a young girl working was standing looking out of the front door, saw me walking up, then turned her back and leaned on the counter instead of opening the door. Then I walked in and was going to ask for a menu when another server cut me off and put her elbows on the counter next to the other girl. Two other ladies were standing there saw me walk in and just went on talking to the girls instead of greeting me. Needless to say I turned and walked out and won't be back. read more

Staying at the One Beach Resort and got a tip to try this local haunt....the Kelly's breakfast was delicious with homemade cornbeef hash which contained chunks of grilled meat giving a nice crunch......my husband had the North Beach omelette with spinach...very light with the grilled homemade biscuits....yummo....ate at the bar....great service and the staff was very engaging....we will be returning for lunch....K read more

Service is awful, menus tossed on table without a greeting. Waitress stood behind the counter chatting and eating while the place was virtually empty for 5 minutes before she approached the table.
