This place is like the local hideaway, that only a few people know how delicious the food is. Besides that they have an awesome team that will help you and serve you well. Visit before 9am for a steal of a deal on a breakfast plate you will not regret! They have plenty of available seats and it's a very relaxed and laid back atmosphere. Ellen's is a no bullshit locals only beach diner. It's been around forever- but this is a newer location and it's bright clean and welcoming. Service is fast and the food comes out faster- but it's hot and tasty so no complaints. I opted for the corned beef hash- and it was pretty damn good- I like it a littler stringier and crispier but this version was classic- just like your mom used to make. I should know. Gotta mention the coffee as well- that brew is deeelish! Eat and drink for under a tenner? Deal. read more

this is not a restaurant this is a roadside eatery. I would say this is a large room with tables, lighting like in operating rooms. I came from Mayami to friends. looked where you can eat. came out the nearest place it. the place itself is terrible. Elena ordered an omelet and some kind of omelet on the beach. the menu says everything is so clear and beautiful. for example spinash and avacado. a little of this spinash weighed as if the horses eat it is not cut it looks like grass for horses. but they put a small dark piece of the avocado. the place is just shit. What a great little breakfast spot! Atlantic Beach Town Center is sorely lacking for breakfast places considering the amount of tourists, but this is a great one. Walking distance from the town center in a strip plaza on A1A/3rd St. Great selection of omelettes and other breakfast items. I had the breakfast taco and it was spot-on. Seat yourself, which means people are kind of hovering, and you feel a little guilty lingering over your meal (that's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars) and it does get pretty crowded as the morning goes on. When we came in we took the last table on a Sunday morning at about 9 a.m., but when we were finished there was a line out the door. Good coffee with flavored creamers on the table (always a great touch!), and excellent, friendly service. Definitely recommend! read more

Food was pretty good but ordered to go today on Mother's Day and had to wait over an hour with two toddler boys. The waitresses were really apologetic but never once did a manager come over to apologize. They did bring us free drinks and a biscuit bc my sons were so hungry. Then once we got our food the waitress just handed to us. We weren't sure if that meant we needed to pay or not so I went back into the restaurant to double check. The cashier checked with the manager and he said we could get 10% off, ($2.50!!) after waiting over an hour and watching people walk up, get a table, eat and then leave. Won't be going back.. it doesn't matter how good the food was if in the end I wish I just got firehouse and had more time at the beach with my kids on Mother's Day. read more

Ellen's is a great local restaurant at the beach. I've been going here for breakfast for over 20 years (it has moved locations 3 times since I discovered it). Don't expect anything fancy, it's just a restaurant with speedy service and good portions with delicious taste! Note that you seat yourself so don't waste your time waiting to get seated! I ordered a breakfast pita and it had a tiny hair on the edge of the pita in the eggs. I got a whole replacement meal, which was good I cleared my plate, but I was not even offered for my food to be comped or even discounted. I work in the restaurant business myself and that comes standard I feel whenever there is a hair in your food. ALSO I heard the servers saying that this has been happening a lot recently. One server had a hair in a crab cake he delivered to the table. This place is a great restaurant and I've been three times this week and I pass three other breakfast places to get to Ellen's, but now I may have to try other places. :( read more

Just yum! We had breakfast and it was fantastic. I had the crab Benedict and my husband had the corn beef hash & eggs. When a restaurant makes their own corn beef for the hash and it's not out of a can, I'm always impressed. And this dish was impressive. We shared of course and both were flavorful and delicious. They offered locally made hot sauce which is fun and added a nice flavor to the home fries! Service was outstanding. Good location, close to the beach so we could walk from our hotel. Review Summary: This place is amazing and has never let us down for over a year. We have been here many times and will return frequently. The moderately sized space accommodates many breakfast and lunch patrons. We had 2 breakfast meals the crab omelette and croissant sandwich. Both were great and seasoned very well. The bacon was cooked to perfection and the eggs were spot on. I ordered the home fries as my side and was surprised how well they tasted. Sometimes they can be dry or oily but not here, they were perfect. The service from the friendly staff was great as well. It is kind of a group effort and not just one person serving your table. I wish I could give it 3.5 stars because it was definitely somewhere in between 3 and 4 stars. It was our first time here and I was very excited to find a new breakfast place. I ordered an eggs Benedict with a side of corned beef hash. My eggs were poached perfectly. Unfortunately, the hollandaise sauce had far too much lemon in it and was sour instead of creamy. The corned beef hash was above average but my hash browns were inedible because they were so over cooked they were actually crunchy (not just crispy). The overall sentiment at the table was that the food was way under seasoned but mostly ok. My daughter's pancake was very good though. Value was good as well with four of us (plus a toddler) eating breakfast for a little over $30. I will likely go back at some point to try again because it was very clean and really quite beautiful inside with a nice coastal decor. I am hoping they were having an off day and that next time it will be even better. read more

We found Ellen's on Yelp and I'm so glad this is where our search brought us. It's a busy place, but the tables turn really quickly and the staff is quite friendly. Food was simply amazing. It might be the best breakfast that I've had in a long time. My wife had the Eggs Benedict, which she said was stellar. I had a Meat Lovers Omelet that was the perfect ratio of meats, cheese, and egg. They also have a great hot sauce selection (17 of them, if memory serves me right) and I tried four with various peppers/strengths. Get the biscuit vs toast and you'll be loving life! First impression was very clean quaint place. We were greeted immediately with friendly Nd helpful service. Ordered the Crab Cakes Benedict, and was very pleased. Both crab cakes and Hollandaise are made in house, eggs poached beautifully. My only suggestion would be to grill the English muffin as running it thru the auto toaster didnt toast it enough to prevent it from becoming soggy and slightly difficult to cut. I passed on the feedback to the server who gladly accepted the feedback, apologized and passed on the information. I'm sure if I asked they would have re made it but I didnt see that it was necessary as the actual crabcakes, Hollandaise and eggs were excellent! Keep up the great work! While the wife was getting her hair done, I stopped in with our baby girl for a cup of coffee and a bagel. The waitress made an effort to ask if I needed anything for the baby and brought a cup of hot water to warm her bottle if needed. That made my day, especially being a new first time father, any help is greatly appreciated. I got a simple cinnamon raisin bagel and cup of coffee. The bagel was beautifully toasted and came with the condiments you would expect. Came from a local bakery too! The coffee was delicious and perfectly hot. The taste was familiar, and not your typical folgers or maxwell house, however I didn't ask where it came from. Tasty and bold, which I like. The price for it all came to about $5 without tip. It was a little noisy, and any patron could easily see into the kitchen. However, even with the noise, the baby girl slept through the whole experience! Downside would be that I'm sure they get busy and it could likely get extremely crowded during a rush. The menu options are simple enough, but with their own touch and flare for individuality. For a trip style store front, they accomplish the "diner" feel quite nicely and the staff are very friendly. They do a great job! read more

We have been there few times. Food is good and service if fast. My only complaint was when I went to pay , the lady at the register was so blunt requiring both my husband and myself our military ID.!i only had my husbands military ID at that time. Most of the time we were there, I just presented either one to get military discount. She should have been more personable. Most of you there always say thank you for your service. Instead she was so busy calculating the 10% discount of the items that my husband ordered . And not give me my discount which is negligible. read more
