Elliston Vineyards - Wineries Near Me - Sunol, California

My partner went here and found out that Elliston does not do wine flights anymore? Her friends and her booked a tasting reservation on the site and then when she got there she had to go through a side door to find someone who worked there, the place looked closed. They checked in for their tasting room reservation which was confirmed and is still on the website and we're told they only whole glasses or wine by the bottle (even thought the menu had 4 types of tastings!). The whole purpose of the trip was to do a tasting as team bonding so the group decided to order food which was noticeably lackluster. The staff didn't even really know the menu well and despite being the only people there and service was immensely slow and food took 25-35+ minutes. Just drive to Napa, or Sonoma this isn't the move unless you happen to be in the area. read more

Ok so I love Elliston. The venue is amazing. It's comfy and beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. The champagne for my wedding came from here so if you need champagne that appeals to everyone, you can't go wrong with Elliston champagne. It's so consistently good. 5 stars for the champagne alone. Totally worth it. The reason for the 3 stars - we did a tasting and ordered a charcuterie platter which we have had before and it was good but this time ... I'm posting a picture because I don't think anyone would believe it. Pepperoni, keebler club crackers and Kraft singles. Yes I said it Kraft singles American cheese with the plastic wrap cut in 4s like how you ate it as a child. Now believe me, I'm not high maintenance and I eat whatever but $17 which is not crazy expensive - but there is no charcuterie platter that deserves Kraft singles. Maybe something happened I don't know but I brought my friends here for the first time and it was super embarrassing. honestly the champagne almost makes up for it. I wouldn't say don't go here but if you want a charcuterie platter, ask them first what's in it. read more

We had our wedding at Elliston in September 2019. The venue is beautiful and there are many good spots to take pictures. Elliston is certainly not the cheapest, but also not the most expensive venue we looked at. One of the highlights was our day-or-coordinator, Kimberley. I had so many questions that came up while I was planning our wedding and Kimberley was always quick to respond. The day of our wedding, she kept everything on schedule and we got several comments from guests about how on top of it she was. Without her, we only would have gotten through half of what was planned for the day. Overall, I would recommend Elliston as a good wedding venue. Here are some of my overall highlights/lowlights: Highlights: Beautiful venue, reasonably priced, day-of-coordinator included, staff are helpful/quick to respond to requests, food and beverages are provided onsite so you don't need an outside caterer, they have decor/linens that you can rent through them, they help you put together a detailed timeline, and they make sure all decor items are set up exactly how you want Lowlights: No amplified music allowed (county rule), no sparklers allowed, you can only take pictures in a few rooms in the mansion unless you pay extra, clean up at end of night was hurried and disorganized (some rental items were returned home with my family, which caused me to incur late fees), deposit was not returned until I asked about it several weeks after the wedding read more

I wish I could give a blended rating that is more effective but here's the highs and lows. Wine: Very nice. This is a sold 4 star winery. The 2015 Napa Cab is lovely, everything a good cab should be. I'm not a Pino girl but all my pino buddies really enjoyed that bottle as well. The sparklings are on the sweet side to be aware. They pair nicely with spicy nut mixes on a hot day. Would be 5 stars if they had the correct type of stemware, but everything goes in the same glass. The food: I would consider the food a "low" point. The charcuterie board was salami and saltines, a handful of Planter's mixed nuts, some proscuitto, and maybe 5 grapes and a single strawberry sliced in half that was beyond its shelf life and slighly moldy. The cheese was nothing to write home about, nothing you can't get at the local grocery store. The escargot is directly from Costco, served in the costco baking tray. Same with the vegetarian spring rolls. The avocado toast was the biggest travesty; it's a toasted slice of white bread with cream cheese and grayish-green avocado spread and a wad of proscuitto on top (we ordered it for the vegetarians!). ZERO presentation points for every dish served. Since we'd never been here before, we did not know what the caliber of food would be so we tried, but we won't be doing that again. Can't get a pitcher of water for the table, but there is a large water jug with styrofoam cups near the patio. Check your wine glasses too, one of our was VERY dirty. The grounds/ambiance: BLAZING 5 STARS here. The grounds are immaculate. Each little garden bed or tree or fountain is clean and trimmed, the flowers and butterflies were so charming, and the seating area was comfortable even on a hot day. We sat in the outdoor patio. We glimpsed two events taking place (one wedding and one baby shower) and all the facilities looked clean and beautiful. Perfect areas for small or large gatherings. Just gorgeous everywhere we looked. The service: This is a 4 star service review BUT... we were unattended for the first 45 minutes. Notice I did not say we were ignored. First we were mistakenly seated at someone else's table so we had to move. Then, the wait staff acknowledged us but were very clearly busy with the events and very clearly understaffed. By the time someone was able to help us, we'd been there for 45 minutes. BUT...after that we had NO issues. Even got a complimentary drink for our birthday girl. As a former employee in the foodservice industry, I applaud the staff that was there on a hot day, overwhelmed by all the patrons and the private events, and most importantly, the hostess and event manager, both of whom did come by and give their apologies for the issues and gratitude for our patience and flexibility. Obviously nobody expects perfection, and it is so lovely to hear people own their service issues and show gratitude for the willingness to work with them. All in all I would consider coming back without hesitation, though I would bring a few things. For sure bring a water bottle, especially on a hot day. If possible, bring a picnic lunch or snacks rather than order from the tasting menu. read more

Elliston Vineyards is one of my favorite wineries that I have been to. My family went for the afternoon tea for my mother's birthday. The food was delicious. The entire staff were very friendly and welcoming. Ricky was phenomenal and had us sample a wonderful wine and then offered us a tour of the beautiful chateau. We had our wedding at Elliston last week, which was rescheduled from last summer due to pandemic. I want to note that Elliston was extremely accommodating, kind, helpful and sensitive about the entire rescheduling process. I've heard horror stories from other couples with weddings planned through other venues that were not as accommodating, and I'm so grateful that Elliston made everything so easy for us, specifically Kimberley and Donna. I can't thank them enough for their kindness and understanding surrounding the situation, when I'm sure they were also hurting as a business. There was even one night when I had a little mini panic attack about county rules and the wedding and sent Elliston a frantic email at ~9pm on a Tuesday and got a reassuring email back almost 15 minutes later resolving my concern. Pandemic aside, Elliston was such as beautiful place to get married. It was romantic and picturesque without being over the top cheesy. We chose a lot of vendors that frequently work with Elliston, so day of, everything ran so smoothly. I do feel that this venue is much more reasonably priced compared to other venues we looked at without sacrificing any quality or opportunities. I'd say one of my favorite parts was the bridal suite and the library for the groomsmen to get ready in the mansion. We spent a lot of time in these rooms before the ceremony, and it was so much fun and better than being in some generic conference room-like set up that most other venues have. Our guests also loved the patio area outside the reception where cocktail hour is held. Also, Elliston offers tons of little events throughout the year like a Valentines day dinner in the mansion, a mothers day brunch on the patio, etc, that give you the opportunity to go back and enjoy your venue with special occasions forever. Overall, I'm so grateful we chose Elliston, and I'd choose it as our venue 100 times over again if I had the chance. We didn't even physically go see any other venues because we were so sold on Elliston, so that should say a lot! read more

This was by FAR the best experience I've ever had at a winery. I actually saw this winery advertised on Facebook and looked into it on Yelp. I was intrigued because it carried moscato (my favorite wine) and it was stunning! As soon as you walk in, you see two ostriches by the front and we all greeted them For the tasting itself, they do have a food menu with small bite plates. They had a charcuterie board and escargot which we got. The escargot was delicious and never would've guessed a winery to have them! Our server was Jeff and a woman with short black hair (forget her name). They were tag teaming all the tables and making sure everyone got amazing service. They were joking around with us, making sure we were happy and took time to get the tasting we wanted. For example some of us only wanted whites while others combination, etc. Both of them catered to our individual wants and I was so thankful for that, I actually lost track of how many tastings we did because we were just having such a good time They did have moscato but it isn't sweet at all loke I'm used to. Relaxing beautiful joint that triples up as an event venue and wine tasting room and farmhouse with ostriches and hens. They curate a set of wines from many vineyards and throws in some home grown ones too. $10 to taste 8 wines? Amazing value for this day and age. The wines change every month. When I visited, white and roses are pretty good, they were from Napa/Sonoma and we ended up buying a bottle of the brust rose. The reds were so-so. They also serve some short eats to go with the wine. There's a small castle like building surrounded by lush gardens. The wine tasting is currently on the patio and it is a lovely spot with plants and flowers all around. Super kid friendly too, my son loved watching the ostriches. Service is very friendly. It's a lovely walk from the vintage Sunol train station. Highly recommended! read more

2 years ago or so, I would have given this place a glowing 5 stars. I constantly recommend Elliston to everyone. It's a gorgeous location. The wines are delicious (and tastings are so inexpensive). Their events were marvelous. Many years ago, I had a lovely 3 course dinner in the mansion, and everything was so well thought out. In 2020, my first year as a mom, we celebrated at their Mother's Day event and loved it. It was a buffet, everything was very tasty and you could eat and drink as much as you wanted. It was a beautiful event. Fast forward to their Father's Day event in 2023 (and apparently new ownership) I was absolutely appalled at the food we got. Not only was the chicken leg super bland, and the ONE rib skinny and very fatty, but it was already served for you on a styrofoam plate. Some slaw and I forget what else, maybe a Hawaiian roll. I found it odd that they contacted us ahead of time to get our exact arrival rather than allowing us to get there at the allotted slot time. You got a glass of sparkling or beer, and that was it. You had to go serve your own water. No seconds. No napkins either. The food felt like it was weighed and if it went over a certain amount, they made sure to keep the extra. So cheap. Nothing was even nicely decorated. It felt like a backyard BBQ. I felt insanely disappointed and upset over what we had spent once you added in the tip (which we didn't get service besides bringing our plates) and tax. We could have spent that on some quality meats and drinks and had a nicer looking and, most importantly, tastier meal. I will say that my disappointment was incredibly obvious. Especially since I couldn't finish the food because it was so bad. A very sweet employee brought us a bottle of sparkling and refilled us as a nice gesture. I don't know if she was a manager or owner but it was appreciated though it didn't take away how much I was upset over how cheap it was. I'm writing this so others who are thinking of their upcoming events heed this warning. The prices have gone way up and I doubt they will be generous with anything. I was hired to provide photo booth services at this venue by a wedding party. The site is beautiful. Nestled in the surrounding hills and vegetation provides a nice ambiance and setting for any occasion. Some items to be aware of: winds can affect certain items and between day, and evening, the wind direction can change. We were setup in the gazebo at the dining area. The wind from about 4:00PM to 8:00PM was blowing easterly. But around 8:00, the wind shifted to blowing westerly. That is NOT the fault of the winery or staff, but thought you should be aware of it. Mosquitoes and insects are a small problem. It wasn't like an infestation, but you are kind of in the wilderness and could, potentially be, outside, so be aware that if you have food/guests outside, you may have to contend with a straggler here and there. Again, not the fault of the venue. I would estimate I noted 9 insects (small mosquitoes, ants) in the entire outside area. The gazebo at the dining room (outside) had outlets in two spots, plus had string lighting, and some flood lights inside at the top (for before/after in the dark for clean up/set up). The gazebo is wood, set in a hexagon, with approximately 63" sections, 93" of usable height without being affected by the string lights, and approximately 12' of distance when measuring one section to the opposite section (so, since each section is approximately 63", think of a rectangle in the hexagon measuring 63" by 12'). Sorry, not sure how else I can describe the measurements (see drawing below) When I had gone to check out the venue prior to the wedding, the staff in the small building to the left of the mansion, were very nice, helpful, and accommodating. I wasn't the wedding party, but they helped answer questions and allowed me to review the site, where I'd be set up, and let my daughter and I tour for personal gain after we had finished reviewing. They even let me know that my gear could be brought in through a door that leads to the deck on the same level as a car can park, so I didn't have to lug my gear up (or down) long stairs. I was able to use a handcart to bring gear in and out. The staff that were working the night of the wedding were incredibly nice. One person in particular, Mikey, went above and beyond. My car had become disabled and even though I was technically a vendor, he helped me to get my car to safety and protected the guests and my family in the process. Helping me delayed him and probably meant he had to leave later that night. That's honest customer service right there though and who as a wedding party or vendor wouldn't appreciate that? read more

However.... the $17 "charcuterie board" was made with food I could've found rummaging through my refrigerator. Kraft American cheese slices cut in fourths??!!! What?!?! Please Elliston, do your customers a favor and either stop serving "charcuterie" or up your game to one soft cheese (Brie) one hard cheese (Gouda???) and perhaps a blue cheese. American cheese, cubed pepper Jack cheese, Keebler crackers, a few pieces of salami and some grapes doesn't do your wine justice and is an embarrassment to an otherwise decent winery. read more

Review is for the vineyard as a wedding venue: Started out great, then things just got weird. The only person who truly seemed like they knew what they were talking about was the senior coordinator, Donna. She was really great when it came to answering my many questions regarding my reception. However, I felt a lack of communication amongst the other "event"/ "day of" coordinators. This is where I was so glad I was on top of my ish because I planned a year in advanced and read all the fine prints so I would know if information coming from a different coordinator didn't line up. The closer your wedding date approaches, the more neglect you'll experience in terms of communication. It felt like I was always initiating deadlines for payments and meetings--which was also a hot mess. I was scheduled for an initial meeting, only to arrive and be told they were in charge of a wedding and got to have a Q&A session instead with an employee who worked in a different department. I then was scheduled a day of coordinator for my wedding 1 month prior to my date and not the stated 2 months advanced in their brochure/contract. I bring this up because it seemed like all of my information, such as paid/upcoming payments were not forwarded to my coordinator. At the "final" meeting, I felt like the final details I answered in an email were completely disregarded because the coordinator had days in advanced to write anything down, and I just had to waste time and energy repeating myself. It makes you question how the company actually handles their client's event information as it seems like it just gets passed along in several email threads with all coordinators, yet no one remembers the details discussed. The wait staff was pretty good, but note that if you purchase a Spirits package, it is an outside vendor apart from the establishment. With that said, many of our guests said the bartender was weird and pretty much sucked because she was confused more than half of the time and didn't know where things, like coffee, was. My table arrangements also got screwed up a little because we had so many people drop due to the Omnicron surge, and it just so happened that the night before my event, the website you use for their reception room layout happened to have maintenance done so I couldn't even give updated seat/table size dimensions to the coordinator on time. Lastly, I was disappointed in the fact that ALL of my cake decorations, including a custom made cake topper, was thrown out by someone. They have you write down a designated person to be responsible for cleaning up, yet someone on site still interfered and must have thrown away more than $50 worth. If I designate someone, I kind of expect that the no one else would help, so I'm not sure what really happened once the cake was cut and being passed out to guests. . . read more

Overall, our take on Elliston is that you get what you pay for.  The day of our wedding was wonderful.  The before and after in dealing with Elliston was awful.  Why a company that provides such a good end product would want to leave such a bad experiential memory with their clients is beyond me.  Bottom line is you will have a great wedding day with Elliston, but buyer beware: if anything goes wrong, prepare for Elliston to not be there to help you (and possibly make things even more difficult). The good: Much less expensive than comparable venues; ostriches; beautiful grounds; food quality.  Brooke Whiting, who was our day of coordinator, is an absolute saint and as an individual went far above and beyond to make our day perfect.  The venue really offers a wonderful wedding day experience and all of your guests will be really happy. The bad: After you commit money, employees becomes unresponsive.  Elliston will schedule important meetings like 3M coordination meeting, and then not show up and not respond to your emails for weeks.  Your vendors will need answers that you can't obtain and frustration will mount all around. The ugly: I suspect that Elliston systematically refuses to return security deposits unless you force the issue.  It took me 3 months of phone calls, emails, and tolerating lies that it was "in the mail".  I'm guessing some couples forget to ask for it back, and others give up, and this becomes an extra profit source.  Treat your security deposit like an insurance claim that you'll have to fight for to ever see it again. Our Sept 2020 wedding got postponed to 2021 due to covid.  We paid for a Saturday.  They offered us to reschedule to a Monday-Thursday only, with a requirement that it be held by end of 2020 (in the face of covid uncertainty), without adjusting to weekday rates.  Remember how panicked the world was in May 2020? That was their response to it - have a wedding where everyone gets sick and has to take time off from work for the pleasure. Eventually they gave us a Sunday in 2021, but it's only because a staff member accidentally didn't use bcc on a blast email, and a professional activist who happened to be on the blast organized all of the Elliston couples to collectively bargain for fair postponements (even then we were all denied Saturday weddings). read more

It was a tough month for us due to my father passing and I wasn't sure if to continue my wedding but I had my family's support and my father's wishes to continue my wedding. The venue was beyond beautiful. The vineyard was our 1st choice and glad we did it at Elliston Vineyards. The setting was romantic and elegant which I truly wanted my whole life. Everything from the appointment and to the last meeting was easy for us. The food and drinks are great. Guests ate and talk about the food choice was wonderful. This is more like 3.5 stars for me. This review is strictly for Elliston Vineyards as a wedding venue. I had my wedding here in June 2021. It was originally scheduled for July 2020, but y'know, COVID. Elliston wasn't our dream venue, but it worked for our budget and what we wanted to offer our guests (for the most part) - open bar, good food, and dancing. We were originally aiming for around 220 guests, but when the wedding finally happened, we were down to about 170. Overall, I'm satisfied with how everything turned out. I'd say it is more of our personal budgetary constraints that didn't make this our dream wedding, but I think Elliston could be more careful in some areas, too. The people We mostly worked with Kimberley in the beginning, then Donna and Brooke, who was our day of coordinator. They're all great (especially Kimberley and Brooke!) and I'm glad we had Brooke to help us manage the chaos of the day. I will say that all the rest of the staff on the actual day of our wedding were phenomenal. They were all incredibly helpful, checking up on me and my husband throughout the night to make sure we had food and drinks and just to see if we needed anything at all. It was so nice knowing we had such an awesome crew that night. The venue/business I wish it was a tad bigger, but it worked well enough for us. I like that you can get married and have your reception on the same site but at two different spots on site. It felt like happiness and wedding-y and lovey dovey in one section and then a party during the reception (which we wanted). We had 10-11 tables inside and 7-8 tables outside, plus indoor and outdoor bars. We didn't want to splurge on decor, but looking back, I wish I had added some elements inside the reception space. Aside from the high ceilings and some string lights, it's a bit dull inside. A few things upset me about the night: - Our table arrangements had been ready for about a year cause of COVID. I had asked Donna weeks ahead of time if we'd have enough 60" and 54" tables (we did tables of 10 and 9 people). She confirmed they had more than enough 60" and six 54" tables, so I worked my arrangement with that info. We didn't want to crowd anyone and were told the setup crew would follow our layout. Day of, some groups of 10 were seated at 54" tables and groups of 9 at 60" tables. Some people were so evidently cramped and it was frustrating to see. - I had last-minute ordered gold chivari chairs instead of the free mahogany chairs that come with the venue. Because it was last-minute, I checked with Donna to make sure 170 gold chairs would be available. She said she checked with the rental company and they confirmed it would be fine. The day of, one table had the mahogany chivari chairs. Frustrating because those are $7 a pop plus fees, taxes, and delivery. - We also rented parasols for the wedding ceremony since it was a sunny day. We ordered 75 and many of them had enormous holes and were unusable. I think they are like $1-1.50 per parasol, but still. It's the principle. - I don't blame Elliston for this, but I wish I knew how dark it would get in the reception space at night. There are lights in there, but they are dim so they do not illuminate the room enough. Thankfully, our videographer had backlighting which helped immensely. - When we went for our tasting a couple months before the wedding, we noticed the gazebo on the terrace was looking a bit dilapidated. It looked like it could be a hazard, as in the wood could have broken and there were exposed nails. I emailed Elliston to ask them to fix this and while they said they would have maintenance work on it, it was not fixed on our wedding day. I would not be surprised if it is still not fixed to this day. The food The food at the tasting was great, and it translated well on our wedding day. The day of, everyone LOVED the bacon-wrapped chorizo dates appetizer and dinner went swimmingly. We did buffet style so everyone could eat as much or as little as they wanted, and we had two buffet stations because of our larger guest count. All in all, I don't really have any complaints about the food! The drinks We knew we wanted to have an open bar at our wedding, and Elliston offers a few different packages. Being from the Bay, Henny was on our must-have list and that is a top-shelf option for Elliston. So we splurged and went for the top-shelf bar and paid like an extra $550 (?) to have an outdoor bar for a total of two bars. Again, it was a great decision for our larger guest count. The bartenders were great. If you're on a not-too-strict-not-too-free budget and not looking for anything fancy, Elliston is a good choice. They have a beautiful property but I think there are a few things they can still work on. read more

It was everything we could imagine. Our Day of Coordinator was attentive and very responsive to our questions and emails leading up to the wedding. She did a good job at checking in on us to make sure we were happy. We had to rebook 2 times and each time the staff was quick to give us available dates. The food was delicious! All in all, it was our wedding day and it's going to be amazing and special regardless. Cons: If you are a couple looking to book this venue for your wedding during this pandemic, ask all the right questions before booking. This may be the same for many wedding venues, but this was our experience with Elliston. My husband and I originally paid for a Saturday wedding, but when COVID hit, admin refused to allow us to rebook on a Saturday. In their words, "they needed to keep Saturdays open to future couples". We understood the that they are a business and we ended it up being ok with choosing a Friday. They have a no refund policy and will give you upgrades on their linens or add in heating lamps if there was a remaining amount of money. They also had a lot of staff turn over. We had 3 different day of coordinators throughout the time we were booked. My emails would get lost and unanswered as we were transitioned to a new coordinator. If you have elderly family in wheel chairs or with physical difficulty this may also not be the right venue. It is poorly lit at night down by the stairs and out the back where it is wheel chair accessible for the reception. They have a golf cart to transport guests who can't make it up the hill, but most of our elderly guests had trouble getting in and out of the golf cart. Some of my guests mentioned to me after the wedding they tripped or fell off steps walking in and out of the reception area. Lastly, they dropped the ball on making sure the linens that I paid extra for were ordered and would arrive on time. Also, some important decorations were placed incorrectly or not placed out at all even after giving them detailed instructions and making labels on where they should be. I know every business especially the wedding business is struggling during these times, but I think administration didn't do a good job at staying organized and handled their couples who had to deal with the stress of postponing their wedding, with understanding. My advice is ask them their current policy on rescheduling due to COVID-19 restrictions, or if you have to reschedule for any reason so you won't be surprised like we were. read more

We booked this beautiful vineyard for our spring wedding (partly because we love the ostriches haha!). Throughout the entire planning process they were great to work with. Sometimes I had to send a couple follow up emails to get my questions answered but I understand they are very busy and probably go through constant staff changes so I did not mind too much. They always managed to get back to me and reassured any concerns I had. They were also super accommodating because some of our guests had dietary restrictions and I had to make some odd requests because of my Asian family. Our main coordinator was Kathleen and she was amazing to work with. She patiently answered all the questions I had and fulfilled all the requests I asked for. During the day, the staff worked hard to make our event successful and we couldn't be more grateful. Our guests kept complimenting the food saying it was one of the best wedding foods they've had which made us so happy. Overall we loved having our special day here and would definitely recommend it to any couple wanting to hold a small wedding here! read more

On May 23, 2021 I attended my friend's birthday celebration held at Elliston Vineyards and received a terrible service. Our server, Tammy, had a very rude unwelcoming attitude and did not fulfill the vineyard service offers and agreements. She never greeted us nor properly introduced herself (we had to ask her for her name). Prior to our arrival, we gave the winery a call to set up a table for 10. Tammy who answered the call, did not set up the table upon our arrival. We were only server 1 flavor of wine as suppose to be 8 different flavors and we were very disappointed that we did not get to try the other 7 flavors. Our server completely ignored our requests and she fail to deliver her job responsibility . During the party, Tammy gave us a few half-empty opened wine bottles without a cork. It is totally inappropriate and unsafe during this Covid. Also she even did not provide any accompanying wine glasses; we resorted to using our own personal plastic cups instead! When we asked for wine glasses, she never returned back with our glasses. I will never go back and nor refer to my friends, especially if Tammy still works there. read more

Worst wine experience I ever had. Definitely never would come back. To make a long story shot. We had a hall reserved for a birthday celebration for a group of 30 with all we can drink wines for $25 per person. Arrived at 6 pm and didn't see anyone serving our group. I didn't see any wine glasses but a few dirty champagne glasses. There were a few bottles of wines opened, but all tasted very nasty and old. After a few sips I call it a quit. A lady show up toward the end of the night with rude attitude to ask us to clean up. You got to be kidding me, asking the guest to clean up. On my way out walking to my car, the walk-way was dark with no lights. People could have trip and fall. On the following week I find out the wines were leftover from the previous party. So Sickening!!!! I don't think they follow COVID-19 regulations and safeties guidelines. read more

We chose Elliston because of their excellent location (away from the City, but still reachable from all over the Bay Area), beautiful grounds, very reasonable pricing, especially when considering the level of service and area provided. The location was tucked away in Sunol, but was very accessible via multiple freeways. The property grounds are gorgeous, and we received many compliments on our venue choice! We love the vineyards, koi pond, and especially the mansion. We would definitely host another event at Elliston, and recommend the venue to our friends & coworkers. Our Day-of Coordinator was Tiffani, and she was wonderful to work with! She was knowledgeable about the venue, and provided many great tips to plan ahead so our day went as smoothly as possible. She was also very responsive to all our questions and many emails! We sent her pics of how we wanted our table decor set up, and all the Elliston staff paid special attention to all the specific details we wanted. Also wanted to give a special thank you to Donna for opening up the mansion to us a bit early so we could take pictures indoors instead of out in the rain! The rainy weather was a big surprise, but Elliston was a big help in adjusting and keeping our day special and magical. Finally, the food. Yummy scalloped potatoes! Many of our guests came back for more servings! Also, the salmon was fresh and cooked to perfection. Many of our guests raved about the salmon. Overall, the food tasted much better when compared to when we went to the food tasting. High value for price. read more

I don't even know where to begin. I would not even give a star but there is no zero. I attended my friend's birthday party and never had such bad service from Tammy. We made wine tasting reservation and called ahead of time to let her know we are on our way When we got there, we had no table or got an apology. We had to wait 45 minutes for our table. Finally Tammy set a small table without chairs right at the entrance stairs. She told us to go get our own chairs. We paid $96 for just 1 glass of wine tasting when we supposed to get 8 glasses and snacks. She ignored us and served other customers with respect. We also made party reservations for 30 people at 4:30 pm and didn't get the ballroom until 6 pm without any apology. The agreement was to have a long table for foods and 2 bottles of wine at each table. There was no long table so we had to go get one by ourselves. I asked her for tablecloth and she refused to give it. There wasn't any wine glasses or wine bottles at the table. There was only a few half bottles of wine without a cork leftover from the previous party which I thought was not safe for us to drink during Covid. I asked Tammy for bathroom tissue and she ignored me and gave me a bad attitude. We paid $25 each person for very bad service! The vineyard just wanted our money. I will not come back here again and never refer anyone to come here. You will not be happy here as long as Tammy is here. She is after your hard working money. She will not keep her promise to anything. This place is not worth a penny. Don't come here! You will be wasting your valuable time. read more

We had our wedding at Elliston in September 2019 and couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding. Tiffani and the whole Elliston team made the planning process a breeze. It was so helpful to have multiple meetings to make sure we didn't miss anything and to keep us on track with our planning! We did several tastings prior to selecting our menu, and the food was delicious at the tastings and buffet-style at the wedding. Tiffani was so sweet that she even packed us a to-go meal and extra desserts because she knew we didn't get any during the wedding! The Elliston venue is gorgeous - our guests continue to give us compliments on the intimate setting. We loved that it was a private location that involved no travel for our guests. All of the different areas, from the ceremony site to the deck to the reception room, were the perfect size for our 120 guests! The service was terrible. I made the afternoon tea reservation online. Since it is vineyard, when I got there, I asked about the wine tasting. The lady at the register said it's a cafe and not a wine tasting place....what? She found our reservation and sat us at a table. It took them awhile to ask us what we want. I asked the waiter about what kind of tea they served. He said "you can't have afternoon tea". I was like "what? I already made the reservation online". So he explained the type of tea they had. Also, I ordered the wine flight which they served sparkling wine, Chardonnay, Syrah and Cab. They were terrible. I never drank any cab this bad and the wine glasses were dirty with lipstick marks. The afternoon tea is just alright for the price you pay. We finished fairly quickly and just wanted to get out of there. I went back to the register lady to pay for the wine flight. I told her table# 6 and she charged me for just the wine flight since I already paid for the afternoon tea online. When I was walking towards my car, she came after me and said she did not charge me for the afternoon tea. I was like "what again?" since this is 3rd time I told them that i already ordered the tea online. So disappointing since we went there all the way from South Bay. My hubby and I just got married there last Friday and holy cow we want to do it over again every weekend! Madeline was the best day of coordinator we could have asked for. She made the rehearsal go quick and easy and made sure we were all comfortable. The day of went off without any issues! She worked seamlessly with all of my vendors, I felt pretty famous not having to worry about anything around me. As for Elliston... you will not find a more beautiful venue. The stone mansion is to die for. They updated the front pond and it beats any other winery in the valley (dare I say Napa too??). The patio has been updated and expanded to the perfect size. I just can't get over how perfect everything is. The combination of the best coordinator and venue is something we will always cherish. We've had every guest tell us that this was the most amazing, beautiful, fun, relaxed and loving wedding they've been too! I am so upset, they never got back to me. They stole money from my wallet. I wrote a review in May the day after I took my mother there for a Tea. Their photos show this beautiful tea party, with real tea cups, and teapots, linen on the tables, and lined napkins. Cute trays with delicious options for $55.00 a person. There were four of us, we were not served any tea, I paid extra for the champagne samples which was a very small amount in each glass. I asked for tea and they said no because we got the champagne. Hello, I paid extra for that! They offered NO TEA? Hello, it is an afternoon TEA. No linens, cheap beverage napkins, no flowers, and the food was dry bread cut in triangles with very little in it, it was like eating just dry bread, and the little (Very Little) quiche (Frozen) was burnt. The only thing that tasted okay was these little Asian cake things. This is not a Tea, I have been to many and had a beautiful experience and paid way less. So I left and felt so deflated I was hoping for something really nice for my Mom, and I wanted to cry. I felt so disappointed and angry. I have emailed several times, I have called, and no one answers, and I don't trust myself going down there because I am so angry. The fact that they will not be fair and reimburse me at least half knowing they did not give me almost three hundred dollars atmosphere, that they fell very short! Was here for my friends wedding over the weekend and I really enjoyed it. Nice venue, good food, great wine and a happy bride and groom, can't ask for more...as a guest. Elliston was easy to find and there was plenty of parking for the small wedding of about 70 people. I'm sure this location is gorgeous in the spring when the hills are green (not summer-time brown). There was a nice breeze that kicked in around 1:00PM that gave the day a very romantic feeling. Nice work God. =) read more

Our first stop on our wine tour was Elliston Vineyards. The grape leaves were a beautiful shade of bright green. It was truly a gorgeous day. The grounds were the best part of coming here. They had an area set up for wedding outside in the shade. The giant oaks next to the mansion make for a perfect shade covering for your guests if you decided to get married here. Keep in mind weddings are boring and a waste of money. The choice is yours. Anyway! Once you get inside the mansion you are hit with the smell of my great grandmas house. The smell of its time for her to be put somewhere while we throw all of her belongings into a dumpster the city dropped off earlier. That kind of old and mildewy. Wine tasting is lost on me. I don't see what is so special about wine? It gets you drunk just as much as vodka. Stop making it out to be this tasty wonderful thing. If you ask any homeless man how he knows hes hit his drinking bottom, they usually say cheap wine. Yes wine. Wine is not so special. I tried some white wine, don't know the official name. It was good, I guess. I switched my glass with my husbands empty one so he could have mine. At the very end we had a sample of the Sparkling Wine. Kind of sweet and the left over taste was reminiscent of Red Bull. Not so yummy. There was also only one bathroom. Decorated like grandmas house and included a shower for your pleasure. The more people that came into the tasting room the hotter it got. The floral wall paper was pressing down on me after a half hour and I only had a taste of Sparkling Wine. I left and walked around some more outside. Its much better out there anyway. The customer service was very nice and worth coming to support them. So if you're into boring wine, boring weddings and badly in need of redecorating old mansions. Come on down! read more

Elliston Vineyards is an awesome wedding venue. I attended a friend's wedding here a few years ago and it was such a beautiful occasion. Looking back, I cannot think of a single detail that was overlooked. The ceremony/reception went through seamlessly. The Hors d'oeuvres (Stilton Blue Cheese and Grilled Pear Crostini, Seared Pork Pot Stickers with plum sauce, and Spicy Italian Sausage Stuffed Mushroom) were all divine. The main course was served buffet style (Grilled Filet Mignon, Cabernet reduction, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, fresh grilled vegetables, and more). I'm glad I was pregnant at the time because I was able to pig out on all of that yummy food! Wish I would have been able to sample more of the wine though. I savored the sip that I took for the toast. This was one of those magical occasions that I will look back on fondly forever! Everything was so beautiful and the food was so delicious! read more

Came here to check this location out as a possible venue, and while it didn't turn out to be the venue we would have wanted, it was still a charming place. It has a very rustic feel, but with an air of nobility. Our tour guide was very nice and gave us all the information we needed when checking the place out. The actual venue dance floor is a bit on the smaller side, but if you're looking for a smaller wedding, then this place could work for you. They also have wine tasting, but we didn't get to taste any of their wine. The ceremony area is also impressive, but overall we found this place to be a tad overpriced. Still, it has a great homey feel to it, and it's not your typical venue. Check it out. read more
