Nice bar , simple food I would stick to the sandwiches and fish fry's. They have free popcorn

I went here based on positive reviews from friends. They always pushed me to go. So, eventually I made my way there. I always look forward to a nice evening out to dinner with my gf. Tonight wasn't a good night though. I couldn't tell you how the food was, because frankly I never truly got my meal. I have never experienced anything like this before or since. This is not a joke. We sat in the dining area to the left side of the building. The waitress was having a bad day I assume. She was a bit nasty, spoke short and actually rolled her eyes at my beer order. I didn't let it bother me. I ordered a steak sandwich. I love them. But I do not care for onions. I asked for it to have peppers(it also comes on it), but no onions. Alas, my sandwich comes with onions and no peppers. Being one not to complain, I began to pick them off. There were a lot and when asked, I explained. She took it back and when it returned it was EXACTLY the same. Sigh. Ok, so I told her again. When it returned the second time, it had NO meat. Just onions and bread!! This isn't made up. At this point, I feel I'm being messed with. The order came back right, but cold. I ate a bit, but decided to leave. Paid my bill and for some reason, I never complained to management. I'm just not a complainer. This occurred last summer. But I felt I had to tell my story. My gf's dinner was fine, so there's that. We were here on an early Friday dinner with family. Ordered fish fry, Beer battered tilapia dinner special and a pulled pork sandwich. Service was great, very attentive & friendly wait staff. Homey kind of feel restaurant. Food was good. It tasted good, big portions & affordable prices, lots of menu selection & choices. My only concern was just the presentation of the plate/dish, everything was just piled together that makes the food less appealing. The food and the service was great. My only complaint was that the Mac and cheese sauce tasted like it was out of a can. It would have been nicer if it was a homemade cheese sauce. Paid $40 for two people we got the mozzarella stick appetizer and they were clearly frozen but for frozen they were okay. I opted to get the soup and salad bar and the salad bar was honestly the best part. The broccoli cheddar soup was very very bland. For entrees we ordered the burger and an order of 10 bbq wings. The burger my boyfriend had was okay but nothing special. The wings however were terrible. I ate the first one and it was tolerable but the first bite of the second one ended up spit out at the table. You'd think in buffalo the wings would at least be average but not here. The waitress didn't even offer to take them off the bill after seeing I only ate one and didn't want a box to take the rest home. Not sure how many stars to give. Food was good but the service was beyond poor. Buffet for Easter so we knew the price, waitress delivered each a drink and we didn't see her until it was time to leave, about an hour later. No refills on water, no do you want another drink. Besides that we had to pile our dirty plates on another table because she did not clear them until we were almost done. To top it off we got hit with an 18% gratuity with averaged out to $5 per person to serve ourselves. The owner said "that is how they get paid today" "Happy Easter", condescending if you ask me. They have a menu with a wide variety of food, so everyone in our group gets something they like - fish fry, burgers, quesadillas, wraps, etc. I especially like the chicken quesadilla with jalapenos. Portions are huge, so plan on taking some home. You probably don't need to get the optional soup and salad bar unless you've got a big appetite. Business is good on the weekend but not overly crowded. Staff is friendly. read more

I give their fish frys' 5 stars! My husband and I both ordered the half fish fry and it was plenty big! My husband is no small eater either, but with the macaroni salad, Cole slaw, French fries and rye bread, it was a large meal. Elma Town Grille has been my favorite Sunday afternoon dinner location at least once a month. I love fresh cut fries and my two favorite entrees are carved hot turkey $10.99 and the breaded pork chops $11.99. They also have early bird menu of the same that is just slightly smaller in portions during the week. The regular size portions I always can not finish there so I have a 2nd meal at home. I do miss the Birch Beer. I many not be a connoisseur of food but I like a hearty meal for a good value. read more

I happened to be on line to get the Elma Towne Grille's banquet menu for my daughter's upcoming baby shower when I happened across a review that I just couldn't believe!! I know that everybody has different opinions, so I wanted to share my opinion of the Elma Towne Grille. My family and I have been enjoying the Elma Towne Grille since it opened a little over 2 years ago. We dine there on a regular basis, I have used their drop off catering service at work and, as I mentioned, I am planning to have my daughter's baby shower there. I honestly can't say enough good things about it, but I'm going to try!! I have never had anything bad at the Elma Towne Grille, but I will tell you some of my favorites: Quesadillas (chicken preferably unless crab cakes are on the specials!), Pulled Pork, Roast Beef and Chicken Bruschetta and the salad bar. Their fresh cut french fries are wonderful too (these are new) I also love that they have a full service bar with a good selection of beers and wines (by the glass or bottle) In addition to to the regular menu, they also have daily lunch and dinner specials (prime rib on weekends) and a great fish fry! The service is always terrific! I like that I see servers that have been there since we started going there. The atmosphere in the dining room is casual and relaxed. They also offer dining in the tavern area which offers the same menu items as in the dining room in addition to a special pub menu available only in the bar. Big screen TV's for sports events and specials during Sabres games! I really could go on, but I will simply recommend to anyone that they go and try it out. They won't be disappointed! read more

We recently did a re-visit to this star of Elma and we weren't disappointed! My GRAND daughter's BLT was made to order with crispy bacon and fresh lettuce & tomatoes. The fresh cut fries are served with most meals and are reminiscent of those served at the Erie County Fair. The soups are always delicious and the service....what can I say! We've been a fan from when these guys took over! Owners friendly and want you to enjoy your meal. I've had a variety of items from their menus - one of my favorites is their Pittsburgh Salad with steak - the Riviera Dressing is warm and oh so good! Fish fries are generous and german potato salad wonderful. They have a great soup & Salad bar too. Have used their catering services for various occasions as well. After a long Sunday of yardwork, the wife and I were in no mood to cook. We decided to head over to the Elma Towne Grill for a quick dinner around 6:00. The place wasn't busy, maybe 3 other tables. The waitress came to seat us, and right away I could tell she wasn't exactly the most personable (no eye contact, curtish...my wife picked up on it too.), but whatever, we weren't there for conversation. After tossing our menus on the table (we hadn't even sat down yet), she told us she would be back to get our drink order. She came back a few minutes later, I ordered a draft beer. My wife asked if they had one of those hard cider drinks, and was met with ".....nope." Now, seeing as this place is also a bar, my wife thought that was kind of odd but didn't question it, she just ordered something else. So after a few minutes she returns with our drinks, and we were still deciding what we wanted. I took one look at my draft beer and could see something was a little off. No head on it, not real cold, and flat. After that we decided it probably wasn't a good sign to eat there. When the waitress returned, I told her about the beer and that we were leaving. Her response was a little underwhelming. We have eaten there before and have even had a banquet in their place, the food is good. Btw, we ended up at another place where the waitress was cordial and nice, they had 'Strongbow' cider and my draft beer was not flat. read more

After reading some very negative reviews we were hesitant to go the Elma Grill for dinner. Happy we didn't let the reviews dissuade us. All our meals were delicious. Pork Roast and breaded Pork chops were perfectly done. Portions were large. We started with the soup and salad bar. Vegetables were fresh and ample as were the toppings and dressings. Three choices of soup were fresh and hot. Our server, Robin was very attentive. On seeing that we could not finish our meals she brought and filled the take home boxes. I live about 1 mile from this place, so I go here often. I've never been disappointed (except by the alfredo sauce--too bland) The pittsburgh steak salad is my all time favorite, as are the mini sandiwiches in the beef on weck. I'm suprised anyone would give this a bad review. If you are looking for quiet, sit at the restaurant, if you want a more upbeat atmosphere, go to the bar side. The drinks are great. read more

Stopped for a quick lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the food. Fresh cut French fries, gourmet grilled cheese and the most tasty Cuban sandwich I think I have ever had. Decor was nice too. Quantity was quite large - took half of the Cuban and fries home, and still great as leftovers! Prices are reasonable and service was friendly and attentive. I reserve 5 stars for places where we've sampled more of the menu- but we'll be back to give other items a try and if everything is as tasty as this, I'll revise! read more

Quire simply put, they miss the mark on a lot of things. Service, atmosphere, food. I've eaten at ETG several times. Its been OK each time. Last chance was on 04/02/2016. Here's my main gripe. As a born and raised on chicken wings Buffalonian, I know what I like in a good chicken wing, and how simple it is to achieve. Listen to your customer when they place the order. If I ask for extra crispy, well then, I want them crispy. When I ask for extra, extra, extra crispy, they better crunch when i bite into them. That's how I order my wings everywhere. Most places get it and do it. Some even cook the wings an extra 2 minutes for every extra you say. ETG chose to ignore all of my "extras" in my order on 4/2/16. These wings arrived at the table very quickly, and didn't even make to the class of crispy. They were chewy, fatty, and limp. Barely even making it to the level of cooked. Now how do we get to this point when the discussion with the server was emphasized by two people at the table? Blame the kitchen staff? Well, if they didn't get the message then blame the server, or both. Bottom line, if you want to be a place with good food, you must be consistent. If you want people to keep coming back for socialization (beers and wings) do what the customer asks. read more

If i could give this a less than 1 star I would. I live in the Lancaster area and always drive by wanting to try and stop in. Tonight my family and I had dinner and it was less than enjoyable to say the least. We sat at hostess station for 10 mins before a server came over and told us to "take a seat, it's going to be a few before we would get sat". The restaurant was not full by any means. There were some tables However it was 5pm on a Saturday. Once we sat, the server came over acting flustered,after about 5 mins of waiting. She asked for our drink order, i asked if we could order everything at once bc i had a 19 month old and 6 month old child with us....she told me no we could not bc the kitchen was behind???...,ok....5 more mins she took our order...we waited over 45 mins for our food which consisted of chicken wings a soup salad bar a Caesar salad and a kids cheeseburger. All in the while people who came well after us were served their food and packing to go. My husbands wings came out not as ordered but we didn't have the time to send them back. I had to flag her down for a to go box and the check, horrible experience...will not be back. read more

I've been going here for a little over two years now for take-out. Every time they manage to make it a disappointing experience for me and foolishly, I keep giving them another chance. They've sent me on a wild goose chase as to where to pick up my food. On busier days they rush in order to make the food it seems no matter what I get (usually a roast beef sandwich or pulled pork) the meat is tough and unappealing. The fries have been cold and chewy. Most recently when they screwed up my order, instead of apologizing or giving me some of money back or anything that showed there remorse they had me hold half my order while I waited for the missing half. By the time I was able to eat it the first half was cold and the second half was also not terribly warm despite them just making it, on top of that I almost choked on a toothpick that is usually through the whole sandwich and not laying in the middle as this one was. The customer service has gone very down hill and due to the lack of quality in the food and the continuously sloping customer service I personally would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Went here last night. Will NEVER EVER eat there again. Ordered the shrimp pasta which was advertised as a NEW item. It was shrimp over spaghetti pasta with broccoli and tomatoes in a butter garlic sauce for $13.99. Sounds good right? I thought so. Well I can get over a lot of things like no tomatoes and the tails left on the shrimp and basically no taste. So I asked the waitress if they had forgotten the tomatoes and she went over to the salad bar to get me some. Cold. Fine - no problem. I mixed them in. Not happy but no problem. The shrimp were definitely over cooked and fishy. Fine. No problem. BUT when I turned over one shrimp I noticed it was black in one area almost all the way through. It wasn't burnt. It was rotted! I have never seen anything like it! ! I told the waitress and she said she would tell the owner. She came back and said the owner agreed to take half off our meal or give us another meal. We said fine. We weren't happy about it but whatever. We just wanted to get out of there. Then we got the bill and he had taken $5 off. I just couldn't believe it. That wasn't even half off. We were so disgusted. I could have gotten terribly sick from rotted shrimp. The owner came over and said some half ass sorry about the shrimp. I said you didn't even take half off. He said "what, $5.00 off, it was only one shrimp!" He was indignant. Like how dare I say anything! I said you don't serve rotted food!! and walked out. So if that is the standard of food quality at the Elma towne grill --- beware of this place! read more
