Seriously over priced, below average food. This is a main stream, prepackaged, roadside food at high end prices.

Consistently good food for the price. This is Medford and there is not an abundance of reasonably priced restaurants that have reliably good food and are open early and late. Elmer's is very convenient to Highway 5 corridor travelers. Exit Highway 5 at Exit #30 and turn NE onto Highway 62. Make first right and then first left and you are there. Easy return to freeway. Fuel, including Costco and Fred Meyer is also close by. Breakfasts and hamburgers are particularly good. Pancakes are excellent. "Specialty salads" are usually very good. Excellent clam chowder. As with any restaurant, you can hit a bad day, but I'd give this restaurant an 90% rating for consistently good food. If you have a problem with your meal, they will try to make it right. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Service at the table is excellent in most instances. You'll think you are at a much more expensive restaurant. My experiences are mostly from PM visits when in the area. When traveling, I always look for an Elmer's first and I haven't been to one that had friendlier servers. My husband and I have eaten at Elmers in the past and have always enjoyed our meals. We do not expect gourmet but decent food. Today my meal was terrible. I had the Willamette omelette which was very overlooked. The eggs were like rubber. The filling and topping was primarily "tomatoes" that were devoid of flavor and color. If your tomatoes are that bad, why not substitute a different vegetable? My hash browns were close to burnt. The best part was the biscuit. It was delicious. I did not send my meal back because we had already waited a long time for our food and were on a schedule. On a positive note, my husband enjoyed his breakfast which was one of the featured skillet meals. His meal looked good as opposed to mine that looked as if it was thrown on the plate by someone who really didn't care. read more

Had the misfortune of dining for a late lunch today. Though it was after the lunch rush, the management should have expected additional business during the holiday shopping. The one waitress working was beyond busy and obviously behind. As the hostess slowly waltzed past, I asked for coffee and her response was, "the waitress is very busy". I was acutely aware of her point and that was why I had asked her for assistance. She was very rude and obviously hating her job. She demonstrated her attitude and poor employee skills throughout the hour + that I, my wife and her associate were there. I have been in and around the Restaurant business and, more importantly, the service industry my entire life and I assure you this young lady would NEVER work under my management. I'll probably not return as her performance is and was a reflection of the entire establishment and its management. read more

The only reason there is even one start is because the service was great. That however is where the positive stopped, the food was disgusting, no flavor, tasted frozen, say far too long under a heat lamp, peppers on hashbrowns were not cooked, the coffee was awful, the potatoes tasted plastic, the chicken fried steak tasted like it came out of a bag and was dumped into a deep fryer. We came across Elmer's Restaurant in Medford, OR by accident and I am glad that we did. I had the Albacore and my husband had the salmon. Everytime that we come to Medford we eat breakfast here before we head home. This was the first time that I was not excited about the experience. Cody was our server and this was the second visit when he waited on us. I believe that he did his job good, but not great. For one thing he never smiled the entire time that he served us, but as I looked around to other servers, I didn't see any of them smiling to there guests either. When our coffee was brought and we put the cream in it, we noticed that we didn't have any spoons to stir it with. So when he came back, I told him and a few seconds later another server brought all of our silverware to the table, laid it on the edge, turned around and walked away. He didn't even say anything to us. Our eggs were way undercooked, but the rest of the meal was good. I think that a person could make a mistake in food preparation so the eggs weren't a big deal, but a smile can go a long way to help overlook other issues. My husband, myself, and my 21 month old granddaughter visited the Elmers restaurant on Biddle Road in Medford Oregon today August 7 2015 from 11AM-12:22pm. I ordered the children's French toast sticks for my granddaughter, and it was brought out on a very hot plate. I asked the waitress to exchange it for a cold plate which she did with no problem, but when my granddaughter dipped a French toast stick into the syrup and took a bite she burned her lips and tongue because the syrup was boiling hot! After alerting the waitress she did exchange it for cold syrup but no one there really seem too concerned that my granddaughter got burned. I informed the general manager what happened and he didn't seem the least bit concerned. He just kept smiling at me and saying oh wow that's too bad. We will never eat in that restaurant again . What kind of an idiot would serve a child food on a really hot plate? Let alone give them hot syrup? read more

Well...... we had breakfast on Saturday 7-31-18 ..... we hadn't been there for years...... I was very disappointed with the place this time when it took so long to be served and also I asked twice for 1/2 a sandwich and she says Ok with a salad. I thought the salad was to big then thought the salad with a 1/2 sandwich was with salad if you did not get a full sandwich then I asked my boyfriend you heard me say I wanted a half and he says I heard you tell her twice. I thought I can not eat all this then I called her over and she told me no only the turkey and ham is a half not chicken and she should of told me that from the get go not wait till she brings me a full sandwich. We were the first ones in and ordered breakfast. The senior menu clearly stated that senior breakfast meals come with hash browns OR fruit. I ordered eggs, sausage and buttermilk biscuit., the waitress asked if french toast was ok, I guess the biscuits were not ready yet. The meal did not come with hash browns, told the waitress and we heard the cook say you get a choice of hash browns OR ??. On the 2nd meal, hash brown's were ordered and they were cold. Sent them back and we heard a microwave, then got the hash brown's back and they were just luke warm. Did not eat them. Also, the carpet looked old, worn and stained. read more

I am pleasantly surprised with my service and food today. Good service and delicious food is hard to come by. I think Elmer's is my new favorite restaurant. I loved love love the yukon French toast and the chicken apple sausage. My server was attentive and my food came out quickly and looked amazing. I was sitting at the front of the restaurant and happened to overhear a woman complaining about her granddaughter's hot plate to the manager and he was way more patient than I would have been. I felt he handled it well and I am very impressed. From the look on her husband's face, I would say she does that often. Still, I very much enjoyed my meal and next time I think I will ask for a seat further away from the register to avoid hearing people complain just to get a free meal. read more

My wife and I have been trying the local establishments for our Saturday morning breakfast and we were keen on trying this restaurant as we've heard good things. First off, at 8am on a Saturday, there was no one at the front to seat us for at least five minutes and when they arrived, they had a line of people waiting to pay their bill first. Our server was mediocre at best and even though there were only three tables occupied in our section of the dining room, he seemed harried and surly. We had coffee and I had the Denver Tillamook cheddar omelet with pancakes while my wife had the Club omelet with hashbrowns and fruit cup. The coffee was sour, tasted burnt and was lukewarm at best. The pancakes were overdone and tough. The fruit bowl was very small compared to other restaurants we've been in. The omelet was decent but nothing to write home about. It was about the only properly cooked and decently tasty item of the morning. The dining room acoustics are such that we could clearly hear the table on the far side of the dining room ordering as if they were sitting next to us, and the fussy baby's noises were amplified to the point of distraction. All in all, I was highly disappointed with this restaurant. The menu is one of the more expensive of the restaurants we've been to, so thank heavens we had a coupon. Regardless, we will not be coming back to this restaurant. read more

Three of us decided to eat there this morning. First our waiter brought our water while yawning and saying how tired he was. Ok let that go. Our orders came I had ordered the biscuits,an gravy 1/2 order the other two ordered regular breakfasts. My order came first you never saw such a mess they had apparently made a full order then remembered it was half order so just scraped half of the biscuits and gravy and eggs off the plate not even trying to make it look good just a sloppy mess. Then the other two breakfasts came and he said biscuits are not ready yet. So by the time they were done eating their breakfast he brought the biscuits and slapped them on table and said hope they were worth waiting for. Just plain RUDE. When went to pay we said something about the service and she just said you ought to have to work with him all day. That was it. No one cared how we were treated. Sometimes a customer isn't in the mood for ethnic or unusual, and just craves a good old fashioned-style meal for a fair price. So it was for us after a day of golf in southern Oregon. After searching Ashland for non-fast food simple fare with no luck, we eventually gave up looking and were forced to travel north to Medford, stopping in at Elmer's by I-5. Had a delicious salad -- can't remember the name of it but it was at the top of the salad menu with candied nuts and cranberries. Dressed to perfection. But the best part of the meal experience was the service. "Nick" our server, was very polite and helpful. We will definitely stop again when we are in the area. read more

We have eaten at Elmer's many times and every thing was always very good. But the last couple of time the meal's have been bad. Elmer's uses great ingredients and high quality meats but some of the cooks they have now are not cooks and they destroy the meal. read more

OK well we order breakfast to go like 2 weeks ago and I ordered a omelet with no tomatoes... got home there were tomatoes.... I called there and asked to talk to the manger and got the GM he told me he would send me gift certificates for the mistake thought WOW that's cool actually going to do something for their mistake beside saying sorry.... well after not receiving them I called today and talked to the GM again he said come on in and I will give them to you in person. So I went in and picked them up. So the girlfriend and I decided to go to dinner tonight and she ordered a BLT well once again they messed up on the order BLT= Bacon Lettuce and tomato guess what they didn't add the L lettuce come on guys if you want to have returning customers get the basics right.....We will never eat there again especially after the lady who rang us up try to say we could only use $10 out of the $20 gift cards at one time..... I know lots of people in this valley and will make sure I let everyone I talk to know not to eat there.... I expect this kind of service from fast food... Recently revisited Elmers again. After a fairly short absence I found the food the same, the Blueberry Pancakes which I often get were hot, good and well served. The interest of the server was thin at best, very business like, showing no real friendliness. Prices are the main issue that I want to address. Elmer's has recently raised prices substantially, especially on smaller meal items. I normally order 2 blueberry pancakes (they are small, about saucer size)and the price has been $3.99. No other frills, just two small pancakes. Now the price has been raised to $5.99 for the same plate. As a senior, I find little discount on the "Honored Guest" menu as well, so Elmers will be going lower on my choice list, as I don't want to pay their prices for more food than I can eat, and the small choices are apparently being priced up to raise average ticket price. read more

We went here for breakfast about a week ago. I ordered the strawberry waffles which were delicious!! The scrambled eggs, however, were of the flavorless, overly-processed variety. Our waitress was also really scatter-brained, but she was atleast nice and apologetic. It felt a lot like a diner to me, and for that reason, I expected the food to come out quickly, but it took a little while...The A/C was also cranked way up, which was uncomfortable.
