We stopped by while in town. Sandwich was good, nothing spectacular. Portion size a bit small. Very disappointed that they are not sanitizing tables and seating. But the fact that the staff have masks hanging from one ear or pulled down under their chin is not worth them even having them. Didn't see any staff wearing masks properly at all. They don't have seating spaced 6 feet apart either unless seated on the porch. I had the early risers breakfast with 2 eggs over medium, bacon, hash brown casserole and biscuits! First impression was good. But, if you prefer mask, sanitation and social distancing they slack they aren't very good about it. For the most part the employees did not not wear a mask. When they cleaned the tables I did not see them sanitize the table. People were seated next to each other. The other issue I have is the fact that the charge you a fee if you use a card. But, we were mot made aware of it. Don't expect to get sandwiches in the evening. That's only for lunch. Some servers were very friendly. I won't return. read more

If I could give this place 10 out of 5 stars I would!! We had breakfast here first - the homemade biscuits are to die for along with the homemade gravy. The eggs were fresh and fluffy and the fresh squeezed orange juice- I wanted to drink the whole pitcher!! We returned for lunch a few days later, and I got the chicken salad sandwich on wheatberry bread with sweet potato fries. The fries were so fresh and crunchy! And the chicken salad was thick, not too much mayo which is gross! The consistency was perfect and made with real chicken. After lunch we tried the peanut butter pie which was a homemade recipe. OH MY GOODNESS. Can I just say it was decadence on another level. Just heavenly. The best pb pie I've ever tasted in life. This restaurant was our absolute favorite of the trip and our server Arielle was very kind and a great server. We'll come back on our next trip for sure!! read more

Not only was it an easy find, but a perfect find. The service was quick and attentive. The food is affordable and delicious. I had the philli cheese steak with these chips that seemed fresh and homemade. My boyfriend had the biscuits and gravy that was also yummy and my friend had the BLT that is well define with the buttered bread and crispy bacon with a yummy aoli. The grits were good; they were thick and hearty. Nothing was overly greasy, which is very much appreciated, and the young lady hostess was very pleasant. But unfortunately, that's the only good things to say. Some of the sausage in the sausage gravy had burned, which turned the flavor of the whole thing. We didn't bother to complain to the waitress as she was a bit busy talking with the regulars, and we didn't want to be there for too long, so we didn't stay to help correct it. I was disappointed with Elvira's. It's a cute place with a great location. The menu is mostly sandwiches and burgers. I do not get the design your own salad concept. 1.75 to add an item? I'd prefer to see some salads created by the chef. My largest issue was with the owner/manager. We were seated in the kitchen. Well kinda, it was next to the front door, a door to the porch which kept slamming, a few feet from a fridge which the servers kept going into and the kitchen. It was noisy and smelled like a kitchen. When I asked to move because we did not want to sit in the kitchen because it was noisy, I was told by this owner/manager that this was there "private office". I said I did not want to sit in the office and had to insist we be moved. She had attitude. I got a Ruben sandwich. A sandwich I've had in many places including The famous Carnegie Deli. However here at Elvira's it was 2 slices of corned beef and a lot of cheese. The bread was soggy and it was flavorless other than the cheese flavor which overpowered the sandwich. It was a cheese sandwich and not a Rubin. Sadly the server forgot our child's drink and she had it as a desert. On the way out the owner/manager asked how it was. I said "OK". If you have nothing good to say say nothing. Well she entered into a sarcastic rant of "well you have a good day sir" and "I'm glad you enjoyed your meal". It was the sarcastic tone that had me thrown off. The my food was not great, but the sarcasm of the owner/manager ruined it. ADVOID ELVIRA's. Thanks to Yelper recommendations, we sought out Elvira's for breakfast before heading out for the next leg of our journey. It is about 10 miles off the Pigeon Forge strip but is definitely worth the adventure of the 2 lane country road to get there. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. For breakfast, it has a good selection including crepes. I recommend the sausage and ham for side meats, we did not try the bacon. Our eggs were perfect over medium. The biscuits are huge fresh and tasty. Very flakey. The surprise of the dishes was the hash brown casserole. While it did not look the prettiest, it had a fantastic flavor. It was moist and cheesey. Due to my diet, I generally avoid potatoes but I couldn't stop eating these until I ran out. They also do a dinner menu which I was sorry we weren't able to try. Our unfortunately last day breakfast at Elvira's was honestly one of the best dining experiences we had on our entire recent trip up to Columbus, OH and back down to the Smoky Mnt National Park area. I REALLY wish we had discovered them early in our stay at a cabin in the Pigeon Forge area. I was kind of shocked with the lowest common denominator crap that defined dining in the tourist parts of the area. Elvira's is the real deal. They are serving real, fresh made high quality food in a delightful valley setting. Service was friendly, quick and professional. Every bit of our breakfast was delicious and they have so many classic and unique options. I got country ham and eggs - a nice portion and very good quality - with their amazing hash brown cheesy yummy casserole. My wife actually got some kind of lunch salad that was also fresh and delicious. I guarantee for breakfast/brunch/lunch you'll find something that appeals and satisfies. If you're staying anywhere in the PForge/Gatlinburg area, I'd urge you to get away from the crowds and crap and head out a bit into the gorgeous countryside to Elvira's. My husband And I both enjoyed our breakfast. I'm not vegan i just don't like meat or eggs so i naturally look for vegan options because it usually fits what i like - i got berry crepes and a side of hashbrown casserole because that was really the only option without eggs and meat (that's my preference though and i realize not many people share that preference so i still give it 5 stars:))I missed the traditional hash browns with my breakfast but it was good. My husband got a mountain of Buscuit, gravy, egg and meat and loved it. It wasn't too busy and we were able to be seated right away. I wanted to go back for lunch but didn't ever make it. We ate at Elvira's on April 18, 2015 and had a party of 14. We did call ahead and make reservations and were seated immediately upon arrival. The staff was very friendly (including Elvira herself who came over to answer a question someone had). The food was excellent and delivered fairly quickly after ordering. We had a variety of menu items and everyone was pleased with their order. The prices were reasonable as well. The restaurant was clean and very presentable. Cozy and comfortable. I loved the photographs on the walls which are taken by local photographers of local wildlife and such. The prints are also for sale. This place is adorable! I came here with my parents last weekend for lunch and it was so delicious. I ordered the chicken crepe, my mom had the grown up grilled cheese & my dad had the chicken salad sandwich. Everything was really good. The only downfall I would say is the prices. It was $55 for that and sodas, for lunch. I felt like $12 for a grilled cheese was a little far fetched. We would definitely come back though! The service was great! read more
