I hate this place and I'm sorry John Elway's name is associated with it. My wife and I were traveling through the airport and had a flight to return to Virginia. The restaurant appeared to be open as their doors were raised and a man was sitting at the bar. But when my wife went in to have a seat we were rudely informed (yelled at in a deeply condescending tone) "we aren't open yet!" It turns out they were going to open in just a few minutes, but when I asked if we could park our bags and sit at the bar until they opened, as the other man was, I was yelled at again "I said, we are not open. What did you not understand?" You could contrast Elway's with Pour La France, also on Concourse B. Go there instead. You will get outstanding food and very friendly service, both at the bar and on the floor. I will never go back to Elways. Ever! I hope they go out of business. Jerks. read more

Excellent - service (bar booth), food, and options. Shrimp cocktail - large but you only get 3, could do without. You do get 3 different dipping sauces in addition to cocktail so that's kinda cool. Ribeye - excellently seared, flavored, and perfectly medium as ordered. Cut was tender and juice! Short rib - tasty and tender but after tasting the ribeye, you will wish you got that instead! Who knew that a restaurant of this caliber was located in the Denver airport? Makes me excited I have to go back through there next week and you can bet I am going to stop in for a late lunch or early dinner. Located in the main area of Terminal B, Elways is a Denver institution that some how manages to pull off the brand experience in an airport location (other restaurants could learn from them!) We were promptly seated and given menus to review. Our server was great, full of suggestions and steering us toward her favs on the menu. So started with the corn and chicken chowder. Yum. Very creamy and just what I needed as it was a little comfort food that helped make my bad day just a little better. For my entree, I had the fish tacos along with house made potato chips. Both were really good and the others at my table couldn't keep their hands out of the chips. One in our group had the sirloin chili which smelled amazing and another had the burger which looked amazing. Service was good with food runners bringing the food so the server could focus on the customer. And the best thing? For an hour I almost forgot I was sitting in an airport waiting to jump on a flight home. And that was the best thing of all! read more

Don't hate on me, Broncos Fans. I love a *good* steakhouse anywhere, no matter the owner. That being said, Elway's at the airport is so, so overrated. Everything from the lighting to the color of the food is sad. Yes, it's an airport restaurant so it's not going to be as good as the real thing. But how come the prices are just as hefty? I spent $150 plus tip for subpar everything. Maybe the only saving grace was the wine and chowder? Maybe... Shame on me for ordering an ahi tuna salad at the airport. The meat was barely edible and I guess I paid $23 for greens. Calamari was oily and had deep fried olives within. I didn't try my husband's roast beef sandwich but he ate about half of it, plus the a la carte fries. You'd be better off eating anywhere else! Solid 3.5 stars. What do you do when your flight is delayed? You find the restaurant with the highest Yelp rating. The customer service was spot on and the food was solid for an airport. I ordered a burger (can't remember which one) and it was a generous size and cooked well. Their French fries were really good, although I'm not a huge fan of shoestring cut (am I the only one who feels like a giant while eating them?) The onion rings were even better. Generally a good place to eat, considering it's in an airport. The Smashburger is hit or miss. Love the way it is cooked, but today's order was very grisly. Other times, much better. It's about a 50/50 proposition. I had eaten about 1/4 of it today and the waiter didn't even ask me if there was an issue. I generally don't complain about food problems unless the server asks if everything is OK. I know - my problem! Anyway, we'll keep coming back when we go through DEN, but I have been disappointed enough to no longer order the burger. Maybe I'll try a steak! For an airport restaurant it always amazes me that the food can be good! Tasted my friends old fashioned and it was the best I've ever had. Maybe because it was at the airport but I expected a lot more based off the reviews and from what I've heard of this place. For being an airport restaurant it was still a great experience overall. The staff was friendly and it was still very nice. They do a good job to keep your time in mind for your flight so you don't stress and they get you in and out as quick or as slow as you want. We ordered the spinach dip appetizer and if you like that kind of stuff I would highly recommend you trying it. It is amazing. My friend and I split the waygu beef burger we figured for the price difference between the regular why wouldn't we want to try the better beef? (It was like a dollar or two difference) my other friend got the Asian chicken salad and said it was really good. The burger I would say was good but nothing to rant and rave about. It was kind of dry and the meat quality tasted better but I've had much better burgers. The menu was kind of small which is nice but it is also spendy. I wish I had tried the tacos on the appetizer as a meal I feel like that would be a good way to make your meal less expensive. Our bill for 3 and a kid was almost $200 bucks. read more

I don't always get the pleasure of taking advantage of long layovers. But when I do, you can bet your ass weight in water I'm gonna seek out the most luxurious restaurant to dine in before my flight takes off! The best way I could possibly describe Elway's is: the epitome of what casual fine dining inside an airport should be. Literally EVERYTHING was perfect. The cordial service, the food, the booze (yes, I am writing this after drinking my third mimosa. shut up!), and the location...which happens to be less than a 5 minute walking distance from my departure gate. So I had the steak and eggs for breakfast (naturally) and I noticed something immediately different about this one. The steak had been portioned out in such a way which resembles hibachi style steak. It didn't really bother me, but I definitely wasn't expecting to have my steak cut up into pieces like that. However, it didn't take away from the fact that the steak itself was juicy, perfectly seared and full of flavor. Heck--it beat the pants off the steak I had at The Bistro in Courtyard hotel (stay tuned for that review later). Also, I'd like to point out the fact that this steak is THE perfect breakfast size portion. I have to highlight this because too many places that serve steak and eggs get this concept SO wrong. It's like...there's this misconception that steak has to be big in order to be served. That really shouldn't be the case when serving breakfast though. I dunno about you; but when I eat breakfast, I'm simply trying to "break" a "fast"--not get full to the point where I have to adjust the belt buckle on my khakis. What I'm trying to say is...the attention to detail here is appreciated. You get like 4 ounces of steak with your eggs and I did NOT feel underwhelmed at all! Not to mention everything on the plate was absolutely perfect, including the toast. Also, huge shout out to the waiter for being so cordial, professional and johnny on the spot! The food was stellar, but his service alone made it possible for me to give Elway's 5 sparkling mimosas out of 5! If you have time between your connecting flights (like maybe...45 minutes to an hour to spare), I highly recommend you check this place out. They have all kinds of meals. A bit pricey...but not as bad as you think. I mean, anyone who could afford to fly through an international airport isn't exactly broke anyways, amirite? read more

The short rib was tender and they put I type of diced pickled onion I think which really brought out the flavors even more. For 18 dollars I don't think it was that bad since it was short rib, my bf said we would probably get it again. I got the roasted chicken sandwich which I would not get again. The chicken was very dry and had a weird aftertaste. They barely put any chipotle aioli on it which I couldn't ever see it. The bun was dry and plain. You would expect for a $17 dollar sandwich the bread would be nice and buttery, but no I was far far from that. The only good thing about the sandwich were the bbq pickled onions. I would not get this sandwich again. I would probably come back to elways at a different location, the one at dia just doesn't meet the standards expected and for the price you can definitely go else where for better food. read more

I've been traveling over 25 years. The saddest part now is everyone at the bar/restaurant is on their smartphones. Nobody wants to engage in conversation with staff or patrons. This place is different. The staff is very friendly and engaging. It really helps pass the time. Service was top notch as well. I never had to ask for refill, towel or condiments. Food was great too. I always order a Bloody Mary. It's tradition. I doubled down with a double shot. (It's a long flight to Hawaii.) I said spicy. Always spicy. If it peels paint, my drink is almost spicy enough! I love Elway's. But the one in the airport need better sides for the expensive steaks. Mashed potatoes? Sautéed broccoli? Yuck. Step it up. I had to settle for the mashed potatoes with my fillet. Where are the Thai Brussells sprouts. Don't give me crap about Covid. I did order the fillet and the mashed potatoes since that's the best side they had to offer. The steak was wonderful. The mashed potatoes are like what we cook at home. Al a cart gets expensive for sides that suck. Wow. Make it better. Steak is always good though. Stop blaming Covid for a limited disappointing menu. Cesar salad is horrible. I sent it back. Steak is wonderful and if you are hard up for a good piece of meat then I'd highly recommend. But the rest of the menu was a fail. I'd not recommend this place in the airport to my friends or my parents. Our wait staff was excellent. She new the menu and also understood my challenges with our food. I thought I could pay more for the price if the food would sweep me off thy feet. I think Elway's should be the "Elway's Express," of all locations. I do love the service, I've had their Roasted Chicken Breast Sandwich before and added up some bacon as well. It was a pretty tall sandwich and I loved how crunchy and toasty the slices were. For $20.00, yikes, I had a nice burger of White cheddar cheese, the patty, and the bacon. A perfect burger to order if you have an expense account or a stolen credit card, the burger is perfectly laid flat with the top bun on side. It's hard to find decent airport food , but today I scored dining at Elways at the Denver airport . I got lucky and scored a seat at the bar right away . Niall was a great server , and bartender . He was knowledgeable about the menu and offered recommendations and everything was excellent . The homemade chicken corn soup was one of the best I have had. The bacon cheeseburger was moist , well seasoned and cooked to my specifications. I also added an order of hand cut potato chips (tip-order some to go to snack on the plane ;) My burger took a little longer to come out and the staff comped my cocktail which I appreciated . You don't need to be a Bronco's fan to enjoy Elway's. This place is a bit more classier for an Airport Restaurant, and the pricing would only suggest that. Waiting for our flight my husband and I decided to grab a bite, and we were not starving so we decided to split a burger and fries. We opted for the "Signature" smash burger cooked medium with bacon, and added fries. Probably the only thing that bothered me was that the fries were not an option with the burgers, you had to pay $2 to add them as your side. Anyways, they brought our our burger already split, with our fries and several sides of ketchup (It was excessive, and we had not asked for any). I will have to say they make one delicious burger, though on the pricier side it was certainly tasty. My husband and I both enjoyed it, and it was just enough food for two people. Would I come here again? Yes, yes I would. Again it is pricey, but it was good. I was deployed to Sheridan, Wyoming. I had three flights before I arrived to Sheridan, WY. my longest layover was in Denver, CO. I was starving and really wanted a seat down restaurant. It's not a lot of food options at airports, so fyi when you travel bring a lot of food. It's fine for you to carry food on the plane. I was waiting for my co-worker to arrive in Denver. We decided to eat at Elways. We both ordered the steak salad $30.00. Yes, I agree that's a lot for a salad. It was a huge arugula salad with bacon and fries tomatoes with a side of NY strip steak. The dressing blended in the salad was banging and my steak was very flavorful. I had to drinks. I started with a nice 9oz glass of Malbac and a gin and tonic. Both drinks help me relax after a long day of traveling and still had one more flight. I will definitely return to Elways if on a long layover at DEN International Airport.
