Emberz is a food shack located in the commercial part of town. The menu is simple - brisket and elk sausage, plus sides of corn bread, baked beans and mac n cheese. For the 2 of us, we ordered the 2 item plate, and sides of corn bread and baked beans. The portion was plenty to satisfy the both of us. The brisket was tender and the sausages were tasty. The corn bread was moist and topped with a butter/honey spread. The baked beans were tangy and not overly sweet. There are a few picnic benches but there is no ambiance to speak of. This is a take out place. Overall it's good food and good value. If you're looking for BBQ, this is a great option.

After a wonderful time at Devils Creek distillery, we stopped here for a plate of goodness. Unfortunately we arrived after the elk sausage was gone. Next time we'll have to reverse the order of business! The brisket was delicious. Though I love my BBQ dry, the sauce was tasty too. We enjoyed the sides (cabbage slaw, corn bread, mac & cheese). Next time, I'll try the beans.

Came by after doing 10 miles of hiking. I was excited to see such a well reviewed restaurant serving bbq in mammoth! The yelp hours are a little misleading since it shows 24/7 but they close by 7pm. This is a small shack next to an industrial complex. Based on other yelp reviews I ordered the following: - 3/5 - brisket plate with 2 sides, brisket was pretty dry and not moist at all Elk sausage - lots of reviews mentioned this but it seemed pretty similar to any other pork or beef sausage Probably wouldn't come back for this again. A couple of my friends also had their order forgotten until they checked in again 15 minutes later.

If you read my reviews at yelp. I only have 1 star or 5 stars review. Only the worst or the best. Which actually help a business to go up or down. Embers BBQ definitely deserve a 5 star review. 1. Food = briskets are smoked perfectly, seasoned great and really tender. It is juicy and tasty just like the chickens. I believe he uses boneless chicken thigh, which i think is better. Dark meat have more flavor. Lastly the elk sausage, deep it on the bbq sauce and it will escalate the taste. Sides = mac and cheese, i loved it cause it is creamy. Chili bean, is on the sweet side and really good. 2. Ambiance = nothing really special since it is a mom and pop food truck. But i tell that the food truck looks clean inside and out. 3. Service = friendly and helpful. Got some samples even if it is a 1 man show, he was able to provide good service. If people knows how hard to run a restaurant they will appreciate the person running the show behind that truck. Keep up the good job..

I'm so glad I was able to find this place on yelp just a few hours before they closed on Saturday! embers is a food truck parked next to a distillery and has a relatively small menu. despite looking pretty unassuming, there's a lot of flavor and personality coming from embers! the truck is run by a super friendly guy named Drake who helped us with our pretty big order! he was extremely kind and patient with us and kept a smile on everyone's faces while we were ordering and waiting. the food itself is amazing! the meat was tender and flavorful and the sides went perfectly with the mains. the truck itself is only open on Fridays and Saturday's so I'm so glad that we were able to try it during our trip and I definitely recommend for a satisfying meal in mammoth if you're ever able to catch it!

Brisket was tender and smoky. Cornbread was delicious! This is going to be a go to when I'm visiting mammoth. It's a little out of the way and the current google map hours are wrong.

Oh my goodness, what a find, this place is amazing! The food is outstanding, the service is amazing and the food truck is so clean and organized, I'm very impressed!!! Honestly I don't eat a lot of meat, but I tried the chicken and it is out of this world. I love the shredded cabbage, it's gourmet. And the potato salad is great too. And one of my favorite things are the pickled red onions... Yum Yum Yum Yum Yum!!!! This is one of those places that you wish you found out about earlier. Thanks Drake, you're a culinary genius! The food is amazing!!! I will always recommended this place for whoever is coming or will come to Mammoth. Drake is super friendly and he is the best chef. You will have to be patient since he is the only one working, but his work with care and detail will make your heart full when you eat the meal. Worth the wait for sure, me and my friends came 2times for only 2days we in town. Highly recommend to get the grilled chicken and bean on the side. I tried all his food and all the side but those two are my favorite. The rest is all very delicious too. As a person never eat bean, his bean is one of the best thing I've tried omg, you need to try it!!!

We visited Embers BBQ at the brewery and ordered the plate with spare ribs and cosmic chicken, along with sides of cornbread and chili. The food came out quickly, and there was plenty of outdoor seating available. The cosmic chicken was incredibly moist, and I appreciated that they offered a choice between breast or thigh. The cornbread was also a standout--super moist and full of flavor. I wasn't the biggest fan of the chili, but overall, I really enjoyed the meal. Great spot to grab lunch!

10/10 -- A Hidden BBQ Gem in Mammoth Lakes! Don't let the tiny shack in the industrial part of town fool you -- Ember's BBQ is a must-visit for real barbecue lovers. My husband and I know our BBQ (we smoke meats on our Traeger at home), so we rolled up skeptical... and left completely wowed. The owner greeted us immediately with a smile and genuine gratitude that we'd sought them out -- a great start. We ordered the brisket plate and the Cosmic Chicken, and both were absolutely phenomenal. The brisket had a perfect smoke ring, was incredibly juicy, and melted in our mouths. It came with spicy chili beans, sweet cornbread, and that unmistakable homemade touch -- all for just $19. Honestly, one of the best briskets we've ever had. Then came the Cosmic Chicken, which is brined in a special beer bath before being smoked to perfection. The skin was flavorful and crisp, and the inside was unbelievably juicy. It totally lived up to its name -- Cosmic. Half chicken with two sides $15 And we can't forget the lemonade -- truly fantastic. He infuses his simple syrup with lemon extract, and you can actually see the grated lemon peel floating in the drink. It was refreshing, balanced, and clearly crafted with care. Total for the entire meal with drinks $42. Incredible value, unforgettable flavors, and heartfelt hospitality. 10 out of 10 -- we'll be back. This place was easy to find thanks to Yelp. We wanted BBQ and found this little gem off the beaten path. Just a couple of guys serving up some amazing brisket and chicken. Our sandwiches were delicious as they had a great mix of sauce and crust. Really enjoyed the sandwiches. Go for the honey butter corn bread. I wish there were some treats on the menu. You're not going to find anything like this. It's like hand crafted smoked food. I will be back!

Me and my friends came here after camping and to say we were satisfied was an understatement. I had the rib sandwich with beans for the side and it was phenomenal. It is owned by two dudes and they were kind and even gave us two free ribs. They have a bathroom, a hand washing station, and picnic tables that all were clean and sanitary. I wanted some good bbq and this place delivered. read more

Don't be fooled, this place is serving up the best Brisket in the Sierra's! Hole in the wall, BBQ truck next to Devil's Creek Distillery, (Mammoth Industrial Park) with the smoker always running.. The Brisket is the best you'll find with within 100 miles. Smokey with good char, melt in ur mouth. It's a food truck, so outdoor seating or ToGo... but reasonable pricing, good service and great Q! read more

Read the reviews about Embers and had to try it. It definitely lives up to all the other five star reviews. We had the brisket plate. The brisket was the best that my husband and I have ever had. Ever. Tender, flavorful and outstanding . Could cut it with a fork. The sides of coleslaw and potato salad were also perfect. And the lemonade was delicious. What a cool place! Really enjoyed the high quality smoked dinners. Easy to order at the window. Went around 4pm and was able to order quickly and easily. Want to go back again next time we are in Mammoth. Highly recommend and this is a place you get what you pay for, so worth the price of high quality smoked meat they do here. Liked that it was out of the way of the Mammoth restaurant crowds. read more

Wow!! BBQ in the Industrial Park here in Mammoth! This place rocks, the food is amazing i.e. do not miss the brisket sammie! Had the lemon vinaigrette coleslaw with the brisket and came right back for chicken and mashers 30 mins later and have dinner now too! We are a local business across the parking lot and are excited to have a great meal steps away! But, once this place is found by the tourist crowd or even just the rest of us locals... they are going to need a 2nd BBQ Pit and I will have to get in line! Great food and thanks! read more

10/10 best BBQ I've ever had. COME HERE NOW!! Beats Houston BBQ, and everything is local, organic, and they make everything here on the spot. Owner is from Texas, and owned a bbq place there and does it better out here with awesome quality. They even let us try the ribs as a sample, and OMG you didn't even need BBQ sauce.... But then you try their BBQ sauce and that's amazing too! Awesome people running the place. By far would come here any day before I go to a big chain restaurant. My husband and I stopped by on our way out of mammoth on a ski trip in March and honestly the best bbq we've ever had. The owners were so welcoming and explained all of their items thoroughly. We tried 3 different combos of meat with a side and I would give a 10 out of 10 for each of them. I truly hope more people find out about it this spot because it is so wonderful. read more

Drove all the way here on Wednesday because the hours on Google say Wednesday through Sunday (yall need to fix that) and was told to come back Thursday. Drove back Thursday at 12:10pm and was told they wouldn't be open till 1pm. Really don't appreciate this unreliable opening hours. Get your s*it together please. read more

I wasn't sure what to order, so I decided to get a little bit of everything--and I'm so glad I did! The brisket was unbelievably tender, melting in my mouth with every bite. The sausage had the perfect snap and just the right amount of seasoning. The chicken was juicy and packed with flavor, and the pulled pork was everything it should be--tender, smoky, and delicious. Great new BBQ place next door to the Devil's Creek distillery. Excellent brisket sandwich and elk sausage, along with lemony coleslaw. Half smoked chicken was fantastic. The owner obviously takes a lot of care and pride in his food. Really friendly service. Seating is outside and dogs are welcomed. Great to have new and friendly places opening in Mammoth. I stopped by this spot and had brisket, elk sausage, and mashed potatoes, and everything was absolutely top-tier. It's not often you find a place where you could order literally anything off the menu and it will taste good, but this is one of those rare places you can. On top of that, the owner was super cool. You can tell they really care about the quality of the food they serve and the people who walk through the door. If you like bbq, I would highly recommend trying Embers BBQ and Grill read more

Hands down, the best BBQ in town! The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, the brisket was smoky and juicy, and the sauce was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. The sides were just as amazing especially the mac and cheese. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere make this a must-visit! read more

Was instantly intrigued by this place! Got to the front of the line to find the most kindest person running the one man show. Lunch service was sandwiches only but we asked about buying by the pound. The owner was so kind and friendly - he gladly sold it to us! Don't skip the brisket, the elk sausage, and ALL the sides! Cole slaw with a house made lemon vin and potato salad that compliments the proteins! Will be coming back when in town! read more

Give Mike and drake a try, especially before you head down the hill!! Best BBQ in town, and in two county's, for sure. Good guys making Supreme effort to satisfy you and your taste buds. Potato salad is delicious. Stop for that, the garlic mashed potatoes, tge smoked chicken. Sausage is soooo good, brisket is great. So many depths of flavors - mike and drake put so much care and effort into pleasing your taste buds. SO worth the trip!! One more thing - if you don't see it on menu or want it - just ask!! Additionally, the staff showed no proper response -- we were not offered a replacement, a discount, or even a proper apology. This reflects a complete disregard for service standards and customer care. In its current state, this does not meet even basic restaurant standards.

Both of the nails were very good, but I think we ended up preferring the venison. The plates were beautifully prepared and served. Our food came out within about 15 minutes. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service we received. We will definitely be back again and hopefully the lamb will be available.

Emberz BBQ did not disappoint. My wife had the brisket sandwich, our kids shared the mac bowl, and I went with the two-meat combo -- everything was excellent. The brisket was tender and flavorful, the mac bowl was a hit with the kids, and the two-meat combo was perfectly cooked with great smoky flavor all around. This place is a must go on your trip to Mammoth. It is a staple on my drive home, 2 sandwiches and an elk sausage! The cornbread smeared with honey butter is so moist you better get 2 drinks to wash it all down. The beans are another meal, thick and sticking to my ribs! This guy knows what he's doing.
