What a great place for baked goods! Everything is so fresh, some of my favorites are the banana loaf and carrot loaf. You can taste the spices they use with a rich depth of flavor and you can taste the different ingredients! This place is very charming inside as well there are always people sitting and having a cup of coffee and a pastry or doing work. Very friendly family who runs the shop. read more

This delightful bakery has a wide variety of coffee, tea and delicious blended versions of both. Their matcha banana protein drink was very fresh, not too sweet, and had real banana. The iced tres-leche latte was creamy, smooth and infused with a hint of cinnamon. For pastries, the presentation was grand. We had a custard napoleon that was so fresh and fluffy. There was also a strawberry version that was to die for. Lots of variety, and sandwiches too. The atmosphere is pleasant with indoor and outdoor seating. Great service and very friendly. read more

I was looking for a place that makes Turkish coffee and learned about this cute little cafe one evening after seeing a movie nearby. They have lots of tasty looking pastries and they even sell Dubai style chocolate bars. It took the man in the back quite some time to make my Turkish (or Armenian as listed on the menu) coffee, so I knew it was being made to perfection, and it was, deep, bold, and rich with spices. I love this long established, family run European style cafe! I've been coming for several decades, since it was in its original location down the street! I love this space for its openness, cleanliness and European allure I love the friendly owner,Marya, who has kept the original European recipes and added som of her own! I ordered an iced tiramisu latte. I was surprised to see something that resembled a caramel macchiato. I had to double check with the barista that this was the correct drink as I have never seen caramel in tiramisu, so I was very confused. There was so much caramel in the drink that it clogged up the straw. I couldn't even taste it. Ended up having to toss it out. The amount of caramel that was put in this drink is absurd, this is absolutely disgusting. read more

to the lady (owner, perhaps?) who works here who, a few minutes before 7am on a friday morning, chased after my oblivious, headphone-wearing ass to save me from getting a hefty parking ticket when i wasn't even headed to your shop: thank you!! got an ube matcha latte. now tbcfh, it wasn't the best. looked pretty? yes. felt like i was assaulted by the bitter taste of mother earth upon first sip. the ube was barely detectable. BUT! once the drink settles a bit it's actually not bad. is ube, matcha, or ubematcha their specialty? clearly not, but bonsai and good people had lines way too long. i was mostly looking for a nearby joint with ample seating and solid wifi for the time being, so my purchase of choice was tertiary to my main priorities. and when i realized the lady behind the counter was the same one who had just saved me earlier that morning, i was more than happy to shell out money on anything they offered on their menu just to show my appreciation. read more

We spent a lot of money here and were very disappointed with the quality of the pastries. The cookies tasted like they were several days old. Honestly, I think they outsource a lot of their pastries. The staff member said she bakes everything there and then let out a chuckle....it all tasted like it was mass produced in a factory. There are far better bakeries around. read more

I came to pick up my mystery box today and was shocked to be treated terribly by the shop owner. I received two large, stale, dried-out bread rolls and four dry croissants that were almost inedible. However, the man who came after me got a mystery box filled with carefully selected, fresh cake slices in various flavors. I have no idea why I was treated this way, and this is already the second time I've received such poor treatment from this owner. Could it be because I'm Asian? Or because I'm a woman? I demand an explanation. Although it's supposed to be a surprise mystery box, why is there such a huge difference between what different customers get? On top of that, these boxes are not pre-packed--the owner only starts putting them together once customers arrive. This is absolutely blatant discrimination, and I'm speechless. read more

Love this place! I come here for a fruit matcha when I'm craving a fun drink. I love the cream cheese top they do here (beware lactose intolerant ppl) -- I think it's very unique and deliciously salty. It was especially good when the older lady made it (maybe the owner?). It's better with the normal whole milk than with oat. The people are very nice. I hope to try their cakes next time! read more

Don't sleep on their CATERING!!! This weekend we had Emile's sandwiches at a birthday party and WOW!!! Each individually wrapped: beef cutlet, mortadella, portobello mushroom, and beef bologna. The bread was so good, sandwiches a perfect size, the sauces on the sandwiches were so tasty! I had the mortadella sandwich and ate the whole thing, I wasn't even hungry but it was so good and it had the best pickle. My son had a portobello mushroom sandwich and devoured it. I wouldn't hesitate to order for a corporate lunch, brunch, or birthday with the beautiful presentation. Highly recommend. I'll be stopping in for the pastries next time I'm passing by. read more

Emily's Bakery is such a hidden gem! They make the best Persian pastry I've ever had in West LA-- fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The bakery is always spotless, and the atmosphere feels so warm and welcoming. Maryam, who works there, is always smiling and greeting everyone with kindness. Even my dogs love this place -- every time we walk by, they try to pull me inside! I'm always happy to stop by because the pastries are amazing and the the service are even better. I tried the chicken sandwich and it was honestly really good. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, not dry at all. The seasoning had a nice balance, flavorful but not overpowering. The bun was soft and fresh, and everything came together well without falling apart. You can tell it was made with care, not rushed.
