We always book rental cars through costco travel. Even though Alamo wasn't the least expensive we…read morechose them as you get to pick your car from the car class you booked. The shuttle driver was nice and dropped us off right out front. Despite having Enterprise, National and Alamo on the building and what looked like 3 doors they routed us all into one building/office. The clerks made short work of the line. I was asked about my insurance company (not sure if that is new to rentals or just to Alamo or Texas) but they didn't harass me about declining coverages. They also asked my deductible. The staff assisting me was nice (I told her I wanted to go to Buc-ee's and she asked where we were staying and googled the closest one for us. I also told her I was excited Texas had Quik Trips and she told me there was one right up the street. I asked about tolls and was told "oh yeah all our cars are equipped for tolls." I didn't see the toll transponder I have seen in other major cities with lots of toll roads so I didn't think anything of it. We did not take toll roads our first day. I asked the people we knew who lived in texas what their toll tags looked like as I could not find it on the car (found out it is a T in an orange circle says toll tag or something like it). Basically told us to suck it up and take toll roads, fees be damned (because what can you do?). I was pissed and anticipated a large toll bill (and I mean it was a lot for 4 days but at least Alamo doesn't gouge you on the "fee administration" of the tolls like other places). We returned the rental car 1/2 and got the toll bill today. Tolls were $58.62 for 4 days and the service charge was $19.80. I don't understand how people afford to drive in texas if you can rack up a $60 toll bill in 4 days but my husband said they can afford it because gas is so cheap. Ok so after gas station talk we went out to pick out our car. There was a good amount of standard SUV's (our rental class) and we were told to pick. We were walking up and down the aisle trying to decide what to pick and a staff asked us several times if we needed help. We picked a black Ford Edge which was pretty new (only 4500 miles!) that was nice. It fit all our luggage and passengers. It had dual climate control, heated seats and the giant screen that paired well with my husband's android. It was a great car to tool around in the 5 days we were there. We had to gas it twice and when my husband said gas was $37 I was like "how small is the tank?" but gas was only $2.49 Gassed it before return and it was $7 We had no issues returning the car as we put in the address on our rental contract and there were signs. We got there when a shuttle was about to take off but they waited for us! Shuttle driver was super helpful loading bags and getting us to the airport safely and timely. I would rent from this Alamo again if in the area and will likely rent from Alamo in the future.

I booked another car from Alamo for seven hours to attend her funeral. Once I arrived I was informed because I had already had a reservation for a car in another city I could not rent another in Dallas. They made zero exceptions to their "rule". Thanks for nothing Alamo. Luckily due to absolute TOP NOTCH service from their competitor next door I was only a few minutes late to her service. The competition went out of their way to find a car (they didn't technically have any) and let me have it for a few hours.

If you need to file a complaint on this branch, here's the corporate number 314-512-5000. They…read morereceive complaints and forward them to the regional supervisors. You will then be contacted by those supervisors for a follow up. Do not rent from this location and here's why. 1. Prior to receiving the car, I was asked if I had insurance. I said yes, then I was asked if it's liability or full coverage. I said it may be liability. I was then asked who's my insurance carrier and I advised progressive. I was told that they can give me a phone number to call and check, it only takes a few seconds. I told them I don't have the time, I'm in a rush. I asked if I needed to provide proof of insurance and I was told I have 2 options: provide proof or purchase DW. I then probed a bit, asking if it's truly required since the site says optional and I was told that if I can't provide proof of full coverage insurance then I must add on the damage waiver. Under this circumstance and being limited on time, I agreed to add on DW since I didn't have a choice. I was literally told those were my only to options to proceed with this rental. I rent from enterprise all the time and this was my first time being forced to purchase their insurance. I decided to do my research and learned, it is optional. I called the branch to further discuss and later found out the person who checked me out was the manager. Her name is Molly and she stood firm on her stance - saying it was optional. This is a lie. I know what I was told, I remember everything verbatim. I asked if she'd like to remove the coverage or if I should speak to corporate and she said to speak to corporate. I immediately called corporate to file my complaint and waiting to hear back. Outside of being forced to add on DW, the car wasn't cleaned properly. Seats and windows were dirty. I have pictures. 2. I reserved a compact car and when I arrived, I received an intermediate sedan which is a lot bigger than what I'm used to driving. I asked if they had anything smaller and was told no, that's all they have. There was a slight price difference however, I was not required to pay that additional amount since I had no choice in the upgrade. 3. Outside of my concern - I overheard the persons conversation in front of me. They said their car smelled of smoke. Molly (Manager) advised that they are short staff and didn't have time to properly clean the car. She asked the customers how can they make it better, just tell her what they think they deserve to make it better. I find this ironic given the fact that now that I have an issue, the solution is completely different. It's important to note that us customers are of different race. 4. I received the car with 357 miles but was told to return it on full. When we rent a car and don't pre-pay fuel, we are only required to return the car with the same exact mileage that we received it on. The manager tries to use every excuse to nickel and dime the customer. All in all, I'll never rent from this location again. The manager is a liar and doesn't know how to properly manage a store. I'll be returning the car soon, I have tons of pictures and videos incase she tries to add on additional chargers based on my response to the situation. Avoid this location at all costs. Update: I returned the vehicle and it's no brainer, I was charged a refueling fee. Very funny because before leaving initially, Molly said to me "bring the car back on full" however I noticed the car was NOT on full when I got it. It was at 357 miles. I returned the vehicle at 374 miles. On my paperwork, it says full but my videos taken on the lot says different. Molly need to lose her job immediately.

I asked a question about the deposit, wasn't my ideal answer but it was answered. Just didn't understand why I couldn't use a different card to hold the deposit. Then she proceeded to ask me for my flight details and wouldn't accept the screenshot that I provided. Then asked for me to pull it up again and I grabbed my phone to which she said she wasn't going to help me and walked away. She accused me of "snatching" my phone away returning with a manager. I mentioned the upgrade and had to mention it twice. Seemed as if the was not the case as it was still in the same category and I smells badly like urine. I'm also beside myself that she then told me I could use the other card when I returned the car..... why do I even need to do that if I am returning the car? Not sure if there was an issue with others prior, but there was no reason to be short with someone who was simply not understanding what she was saying. Simply a very poor experience.

Once we got the car it smelled horrible of urine. Return went very well. That team was super nice.
