They are a step up from the loop, better than cruisers burger, way better than fast food burgers! They Rival 5 Guys...Epik has a more extensive selection and seems like bigger patties! I ordered the same thing to go today as I did the first time the philly burger! Couldn't resist getting it again. I do plan to branch out to other selections on the menu. To me it's priced right for the quality you get! 2 philly burgers and bacon cheese fries was 23.51 with tax. Their also pretty quick...called ahead 5 min at lunch time for a to go order today, waited 5 min when I got there and was out the door! What they've considered sliders was more so the size of Five Guy's "little" burgers.... Yeah! Exactly! There's nothing small about those burgers. Now try eating four of those burgers in one setting... I did! And, they were all amazing. Out of the four "sliders," three of those "sliders" was EPIK's signature burgers: the Epik BLT, iI Delizioso, and the Le Steakhouse. My ultimate favorite of the three was the il Delizioso which was layered with sheep's milk cheese with black truffles, pancetta, and peach preserves. This little burger was 'oso' sweet and 'oso' savory. After eating all four "sliders" (cough) little burgers... and an Asian slaw with candied bacon appetizer, I couldn't resist grabbing an EPIK Vanilla hand-spun milkshake for the road. I heard that this place was good and have been wanting to try it for a while. Tonight I placed an online order for pick up. I arrived early and the order was already sitting on the counter. The Huevos Burger and Beer Battered Onion Rings. I was very disappointed in the onion rings. They were over cooked, dry and the onion was very thin. The salmon burger was served with an onion ring and coke slaw. The first bite was flavorful; salty, tangy, and sweet. The salmon was moist and did not have a fishy smell at all. It was cooked really well! The guac veggie wrap on the other hand was not as good as the salmon. We've been here numerous times, too many to count really, so I'm due to review. I like a few of the burgers- Epikurian, Old Skool, Mushroom Swiss. I like all the cheese & topping options available. The house pickles are delicious. The fries are good, but I get them with light seasoning otherwise I find them too salty. The Nutella shake has me in a chokehold, I'll pop by just for that. Here's my 'beef' if you will.. they never (and I mean never) have gotten the temp on my burger correct. I always order well done and it's always pink, if not red. When I'm not pregnant or if it's not for my kids, I don't care as much, but having to go home and finish cooking my food isn't acceptable. Especially for a place that only serves burgers, & at this price point, they need to have this down. Also the fact that I can't get mayo/ketchup/mustard is a little annoying - so I have to do that at home too. Will I be back? Yes. My new digs are right down the street from Epik Burger, so I decided to treat my kid to burgers yesterday as an excuse to check them out! Over 34 specialty burgers plus you can create your own make for almost endless possibilities! Ground beef or Bison! Plus they have Chicken, Veggie Burgers & Salmon- something for everyone. Then you slide your eyes over the menu to sides and fries! hmmmm~ I went with an order of bacon-cheese fries to split with Eddie! A couple of root beers and we ordered our burgers. I went with the Philly, minus peppers (allergies suck) and went ahead and splurged on a bison patty- cooked medium, which was really more medium well. Eddie went mushroom-swiss burger, medium too. We sat down and looked over the menu again- next time I want shakes! I also took this opportunity to message my other half and brag that we were trying Epik Burger without him (insert evil giggle here). Jealousy ensued and we got our food delivered to our table! My burger was very messy- the cheese sauce dripping as I took my first bite- fingers covered in cheese! YUM! The cheese, caramelized onions and mushrooms enhanced every bite of my bison burger! Eddie inhaled his- obviously enjoying his pick for burger! And the fries- holy BACON Batman! So- my next burger must have bacon on it- because that was Epik! First- there was plenty of bacon on the fries, like PLENTY! They layered all the toppings, so even as we ate down the fries there was still more bacon! And the pile of cheese on the bottom didn't get finished- because we were too stuffed. I know- cheese abuse! I am so happy we only ordered the one side! The options at Epik are limitless. The medium cooked is very tender and juicy. The burger itself has flavor. The restaurant is nice inside authentic yet nostalgic. I've eaten here twice now during COVID (via takeout) and have been absolutely blown away. They have plenty to pick from on the menu, but if you don't see exactly what you want they also have a 'build your own', too. The most recent time my husband and I went all out and both got burgers, fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings and a milkshake for each of us. Everything was fresh (very nice since we had it delivered - always a little bit of a concern) and well packaged. We struggled to finish because it was SO MUCH food. I've had the turkey burger, as well as a regular burger on a lettuce wrap 'bun' and would easily pick either option again. Their sweet potato fries are BOMB, and to top that all off with a Nutella milkshake? It's a winning combo if you ask me! My rating is more on the service and price of food for 'what you get' for that cost. My wife and I love the food here. Flavors are unique, great, and food is fresh. Hence on random days we want to 'indulge' on a good burger we come here. BUT the last two visits we had, we ran into problems/concerns. First concern is the cost to portion size, and more importantly, consistency. The first time we came I watched the young gentleman (short caucasian male, with pony tail) make my my shake, looked around and saw that the shake was short (aka 'skimped'), proceeded to add graham cracker and saw that I saw him and just looked away as he handed me my shake. He also didn't do any measuring on the key lime juice, just dumped from the bottle which turned out too sour and inedible. So we ended up throwing it away. For a $5-7 shake, definitely not worth it. On a second visit, we placed an online order, waited 30 minutes, and came to the store. Upon arrival we waiting an additional 15-20 minutes because our food STILL was not ready. ON TOP of that, we ordered a shake again, the lady and gentleman at the cashier offered to substitute a shake for an order of fries. (we already ordered 2 portions of fries). On top of that my shake costs $6-7, but fries cost $3, so it's not an even substitution. I told them I just wanted a refund but they said the owner who does the refund from online orders is gone. So they gave me a receipt and just told me to wait a couple days. (3-4 days later, no refund) So again for the price we pay $40+ for 2 burgers and 2 fries +/- a shake , and along with the newly announced increase in menu price I would now probably say the amount food and service is significant to consider going elsewhere unless you have a specific epik craving. We will definitely limiting our visits now. read more

This was my first visit to Epik Burger. I was picking up some dog food at the pet store in the same strip mall and I was feeling kind of hungry. The smell smacked me in the face when I opened the door....in a good way lol. There are several different options of burgers. I asked what were the top three burgers sold, and I picked the Epikurean. Also many fry options too. I'm not a huge fry fan, but I was told since it was my first visit I should try the truffle parmesan fries. My order was to go. About halfway home the truffle fry smell overtook me in the car, not in a good way. But I was glad to find out the fries tasted good. The burger was cooked medium, just like I ordered. So many different flavors happening in this burger! I love blue cheese and mushrooms, so it wasn't hard to sell me on this burger. It was extremely messy, but worth it! The staff member was helpful and friendly. It took about 5-7 minutes for my burger and fries, then I was on my way. I arrived just in time, as a line was forming as I was leaving. Yes, this place understands me. I'm always looking for something new. I don't want a normal burger; I want an *wince* epic burger. Anyways, I got a epikurean bison burger, and it was incredible. The sauce/cheese mix is so complex, but doesn't crowd out the flavor of the meat at all. Every drop exists to enhance its umami instead. The patty itself is exploding with flavor and super juicy. The bun is also thick, soft, but doesn't fall apart easily, just perfect. The fries were also great. Even disregarding the bacon, eggs, and gravy, the fries have the right amount of crisp and are well seasoned. Finally, I tend to judge burger joints by how I receive the ketchup. For example, the last time I went to a McDonald's, it was only available in the s***** little packets, and I had to go back to the counter and ask for them. Epik Burger gets an A in this as well. It seems to be Heinz, and they have large sauce dispensers with huge cups, the same as the ones at Five Guys. Well done. Five stars. read more

Not too many positive things have come out of this Covid fiasco but there is one! And this is a BIGGG ONE! So I was scrolling Facebook and a buddy of mine was debating with someone and he said "Epik is the best burger spot in Jacksonville". As a new person here I figured I take the opportunity to try it out and see if his argument was valid or not. I will say, this man was not lying , nor did he exaggerate. We had the best experience at Epik today! This place was nothing short of amazing. The service was great, everyone followed the Covid protocols that are in place and we still managed to have a great time with top of the line food. I ordered a BBQ salmon burger, that had cheese, an onion ring, fried egg, jalapeños and the sauce they put on the burger. I bit into it, and immediately knew I was gone need another. So I ordered ...another lol. To make things better, I had some Parmesan fries, and a sample of the fatty fries. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The epic signature sauce was a great touch to the meal. They had several options for dessert , but I decided to get the Elvis, without the bacon and it was the Bomb! I was surprised that it was not busy on a Tuesday at noon. I had a craving for onion rings and it looked like Epik had the best. It was 5.99 for 4 huge rings. There was more batter than I expected but I really enjoyed them. I could not finish them all. I had some of the regular burger my husband got and it was delicious and cooked to perfection. I don't know how they can get 2 burgers wrong. Korean Bbq veggie burger: grade F. This was a mega fail. First of all, the egg was so undercooked that we had to send it back. When I finally had a chance to bite into the burger it was just one soggy mess. The texture and flavors were just one note. All I tasted was kimchee and nothing by else. What a disappointment. Mushroom Swiss Veggie burger: grade F. This was also sent back because they just threw cold mushrooms on the burger rather than sautee it in the butter sauce. I love Epik Burger! The food is great especially the burgers and fries. My mom is obsessed with their Poutine fries I can't count how many times she's ordered them. The workers are really cool and nice also. Sometimes the food is a little messy though! Like once the sauces weren't closed right and one side of the gravy melted the plastic sauce cup it was in and I had a lot to clean up Also please if you burn a bun please get a new one it was very unpleasant in the last burger i got as burned flavor does not taste good..... We arrived at 630pm on a Saturday evening. The place was packed. We were told before we completed our order that it would be a 25-30 minute wait. At the time of our order, there was nowhere to sit, so we asked to get our order to go. 40 minutes later, still no order. We went to ask for an update and they said they are waiting for our onion rings to "be dropped". 10 minutes later we go up again, and they still had not dropped our onion rings. But our other food was "under a heat lamp". They also have heat lamps at other establishments that are half the cost, 1/4 of the wait, and way better attitude. We finally got our complete order, took it home and our fries were over cooked and a salmon burger was also over cooked. Shrug. We keep trying to support them, but they always find a way to disappoint us. read more

The only other time I had food from Epik Burger was during a special event at the restaurant. I was pretty impressed with what they had and I promised I'd be back, but diet, lame excuses and distance kept me from returning. This night, it was a simple craving for a milkshake and fries from a new place which led me to order delivery from them. I'd completely forgot that they had unique shakes. I was able to narrow it down to 2 and finally went with the Avocado Shake, gluten-free style. I think that means that you don't get a cookie straw but I could be wrong. I was also a little worried that they'd use whole milk which doesn't agree with me, but I always have Lactaid on deck so it's all good. The Truffle Parmesan Fries wasn't even a thought...I was GOING to get those. My novio got a Butter and Honey shake which sounded kinda gross as I imagined an entire stick of butter being blended but I'm sure that how it's made. GrubHub delivered how order and we immediately tried the shakes. I really enjoyed mine! It wasn't too thick or too sweet, and the avocado bits were a delicious treat. He tried his and said it was pretty good. I snuck a taste and yes, no stick of butter, just a light buttery taste well blended with the sweetness of honey. I liked it. The fries were perfect.
