The food is very good, but you have to be very careful in communicating with them. I was there recently and ordered one order of the street or mini tacos and when I moved into the payment area, I was being charged $18, which immediately prompted me to question the order. Let me back up by saying I clarified myself to the guy at the actual food truck because it was clear he didn't understand me. Anyhow, that same guy came over to payment window to argue with me but then said he would fix it. So, fast forward a couple of days and what should have been a $7 (ish) meal was still pending as $18.50. I have it a couple of days for it to correct and show as the correct amount when it finalized, but they apparently gave themselves a tip and the final amount posted to my account was $20.50. It may have been the foshizzle when you bought it in '92, but geeze louise, it sounds really bad, like a brick in a blender. You just can't drive those huge d.j. speakers with that little Chinese boom-box, especially when you keep it cranked to eleven. It's like trying to pull a freight train with a riding mower. This is one of my favorite taco stops but tonight it was just terrible. My tacos were cold and they didn't give me the chilè torriado nor the sautè onions no salsa. The guy taking my order was more interested in the girls that were dining there than actually paying attention to my order. He missed the coke I ordered with my meal. It was just awful. Terrible experience. First the restaurant was super messy. It's a small restaurant so they only like 10-12 tables. The tables that we available were dirty with dishes from old customers. It took them like 20 minutes to clean the tables and give a part 5 people seats. Then when we ordered the waitress never put in our orders. So we waited 30 minutes before she realized that. It took then an hour to finally serve us. We should of left a long time ago to be honest. So basically we waited almost 2 hours to eat in a small under staffed dirty restaurant. Im born and raised in San Antonio. So, I'm ashamed to say as a 28 year old I've waited all this time to try Erick's tacos. My best friend and I decided to go for dinner around 8 pm. Cute little spot on Naco. Not that busy. We sat down, ordered our drinks and our food. (Maybe too much food, but that's what to go boxes were invented for). My friend ordered the Torta Ahogada. Which is an off the menu, yet really POPULAR item that they do. I had Erick's Huarache with the asada. It was a long corn tortilla, topped with refried beans, green salsa, your protein of choice, cilantro, cheese, onions, crema, and most importantly LOVE. It is served with yummy and flavorful borracho beans. This was delicious and HUGE. I only ate half. We also ordered two cabrito tacos on the side because of course, our eyes were bigger than our tummy. We didnt even touch those, so I'll probably eat that for lunch today. Nolen pretty much hit the nail on the head with his review, so I'll just add that if you're feelin the itch to drive to Mexico to experience and enjoy the south of the border excitement and flavor, save the gas money and let ericks scratch that itch right here in town. My wife and I have both been to Mexico on several occasions and one of the things we love most is the street food and flared atmosphere. Ericks has both! The food is as authentic as you can get. The street tacos are absolutely perfect! You can get 4 for 5 bucks, I usually get 2 beef and 2 chicken. Be sure to add a dab of both the red and green sauce! Kappow!!! Piñata explosion in yo mouth! Also try the "corn on a cup" (which is actually "in" a cup) it's whole kernel corn topped generously with butter, cream, Parmesan cheese and chili powder. Yum! They also recently added a "baking potato" which is of course a baked potato however it is served so hot that it is probably still baking while you are eating it. This taco truck stand is equipped with all of your favorite mexican sodas as well. You can plan to go with a group for a large feast of Mexican street food at it's best, or just pop in for a quick pickle. The parking lot is a bit hectic and that's why I didn't give the full 5 stars. Go try ericks today and you'll be singing "eres tu" to yourself while eating your new favorite street tacos! Haha... A little bit of Mexico on the northeast side. Seriously. I felt like I was in Mexico. The asada mini tacos were delicious: the meat has a great flavor. The corn tortillas come from a package, but she throws them on the grill, so you don't even notice. Aside from the taco truck, there's a little window where you can order corn, fruit con chile, aquas frescas (the melon was awesome! with the big chunks that get stuck in the straw!!), raspas, paletas, tamales..... almost everything you can imagine. With all the great reviews we had to come and check out this place. The inside restaurant was hosting a party so we had to go to the food truck, which I think its a really cool idea to have both options. We ordered six tacos (3 chicken and 3 steak). We waited forever (about 20-30mins) with the Texas heat outside and fighting all the flies all over the dining room area. Once we finally got our food we sat down and had to continue to fight with the flies the entire time and it was just gross. Then my taco was so greasy that my plate had a thick coat of oil on the bottom. I was not expecting a healthy meal by all means, but this was just way too greasy. I ate two of the tacos and then I could not even think about eating the third one. I would not recommend this place if you have to sit outside during the summer time. I will come back to sit inside and hopefully have a better experience because I was not pleased. read more

We tried two types of palateria (fruit ice cream bars) the coconut and strawberries and cream. They were delicious! As for the food truck, it was okay. Erick's Tacos green sauce is a religious experience! The little shrine in front of Erick's seems to bring some sort of divine inspiration to the cooks who cook up that green salsa. It is the perfect blend of heaven and hell, with a avocado flavor, and a stinging heat. I can't agree enough with everyone else's opinion of the green sauce. Aye caramba! That stuff is so delicious! We came here late in the evening, when most of the other local options had shut down. Fortunately, Erick's is open late! Parking wasn't so much of an issue because it was after hours. I got the tacos al pastor, which were served up on corn tortillas that had been bought elsewhere and heated up on the comal. It was quite good, but the green sauce made it so much better! I love how spicy it is, in a subtle way. Their red salsa is flavorful, with lots of chunks of tomato and cilantro, but it's not very spicy in the least. The asada tacos are really good here, but you really have to be patient if you want to eat here. The parking is absolutely terrible. Its always packed and there is absolutely nowhere to park and if you park just anywhere you run the risk of someone trapping you in. Expect to wait anywhere from half an hour to an hour for your food. My biggest piece of advice is always check your food because several times I have gotten home to the wrong order, or tacos without cheese, etc. read more

Erik's tacos are a close clone to the tacos you can get just right across the border. With straight forward flavors which let the food speak, this place makes some great tacos! Ambiance: There are 2 sides to this place. An indoor restaurant and an outdoor shaded patio. If you want the street taco experience stick with the outside they have a fruteria next to the taco truck. The tables are communal style. I really like the faded boxing posters and futbol posters. I feel like I'm near tijuana. Service: service is straight to the point. Tell the person who's taking your order what you want and they'll call out your order. No fuss no extra lip service. Price range $3-6 Most items are in the $5 and the addition of add ons like avocado slices will bring up the prices. Overall though you get good quality food for a good price. food: They got your more common meats like chicken, and Carne asada. But they also have some of the less common meats like lengua (tounge) and Cabeza (head) meat. My go to meats are the Carne asada, barbacoa (beef cheeks), and lengua. They serve them with cilantro and raw onions. On the side you also get caramelized onions and radishes. The two salsas they have are a Rojo and verde. Both have a pretty good heat not overwhelming and have a good flavor profile to both. Most places just burn your tounge with no real flavor. This place let's the meat shine. The mini tacos can be finished off in 1-3 bites and each Bite is as enjoyable as the next. My favorite the barbacoa has a real beefy taste, beefier than a steak. The tortillas are always soft and have a little bit of the grease from the beef and the flat top. The elote from the fruteria is good as well. I got the one in the cup, and it comes with Mexican mayo, what seemed like parmessean cheese and some chili/paprika on top. Normally the cheese is queso fresco (fresh cheese). Overall it gives off a sweet, salty, zesty flavor worth trying if you never had it. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a traditional street taco experiance. The atmosphere of being outside and having some street tacos and a Mexican coke after a long day at work is unmatchable. You can tell this place is a local favorite. Lots of families come by. I'll always make the 15 minute drive to get to this place even though I have closer taco places closer to my house read more

Truck or restaurant... Ericks is DELICIOUS! Our first Taco truck experience last year. Try the veggies enchilada things... so so good (restaurant). Kind of annoying parking situation. Correct that: VERY annoying parking for either the restaurant or truck. And when we were in the restaurant a few months ago, they had no liquor license... When will I ever get sick of the really good mexican/tex-mex food in San An? Never!! The meat is so dry you might as well call it jerky. Nowhere near the quality that it used to be 5 years ago. I used to be a habitual customer, came back and was beyond extremely disappointed.
